In this episode of TSW Journey To Healing, I Interview TSW Warrior Shai Kurji, as we discuss the massive importance of mental health and the powers of the mind and body connection in regards to healing! Please share this episode with all those suffering and battling Topical Steroid Withdrawal! 🖤

Shai's Background/Story:   * Diagnosed with eczema around age 2 (like most of us). * Found she had lots of stress around the time she was to enter into University * Did 2 courses of oral prednesione in 2020 * In the Winter of 2020 she started noticing symptoms of TSW * Oozing in the chest area were alarming to her * in 2021 the redness in her face and cheeks worsened and was diagnosed with rosacea and put on medications for it, but then the rash spread from just her cheeks to all over her body   * She used #Elicon and #Elidel (steroids) as well as #Protopic (Immunosuppressant)  - this worked for 3 months but then she felt burning skin * Turned to Naturopaths and reading to find help   * Sept 2021 a Doctor told her about TSW   * November was her wedding so she went on prednesione for her special day and then decided to go into withdrawal after that

Shai's Experience of Enduring TSW: * December 2021 is when the withdrawal began * January 2022 is when the symptoms starting hitting her — unbearable burning in shower, red hot sensation on her cheeks * The first 3 months were the worst * She endured Flare cycles, Losing sleep, Skin touching skin was unbearable pain, Sweating burned like hell. * She used Bamboo cheers to stay cool at night   * Lots of neck oozing   * Her worst symptoms were between April 2022 and august 2022 * Aug 2022 she cut out gluten and dairy and joined an online course by Tiffany Cheung  She noticed improvements after cutting out Gluten!!

Kelli is an upbeat, positive artist who had battled TSW for a couple years and is sharing her experience along with her tips! Her art became an escape from the struggles of her Topical Steroid Withdrawal. She faced many fears and put her love of art as her focus and as a result, has gotten her art and talents in front of many more people with her persistence and even has a Drive By Art Show (her artist name is the Silent Kah if you want to look her up!). Briana shares with us her TSW journey and what led her to embark on the arduous task of making her documentary film. She opens up about her hair loss, the pure exhaustion, the medications and her hopes for the future. 

Life Update:  Briana is currently taking Dupixent to help with her flare ups and is sharing her experience on her social media platforms. She is also currently working on a documentary sequel - Still Preventable!
