Flexion extension views, also called Davy series trauma protocols, are the missing objective layer in most motor vehicle workups because they measure spinal biomechanics and ligamentous instability in ways a standard MRI or CT cannot, making them essential for connecting documented injury consequences back to the original traumatic event.
