Greetings & welcome back to the podcast.
This episode we are joined by Dick Brown - President & CEO of Kathairos - a Methane reduction company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Kathairos technology is used by more than 55 major oil and gas producers in 17 North American shale basins, and is on track to generate $50MM in revenues by year end.
To date, Kathairos has mitigated ~185,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions from our customer’s operations – the equivalent of ~3MM trees planted in a single year.
Mr. Brown holds a BSc. Eng. from the University of Alberta, and a Professional engineer designation.
Among other things we discussed the business case for methane reduction: 185,000 tonnes of C02 & how producers can benefit.

This episode we are joined by Jim Davidson - director of Topaz Energy, ATB Financial, the Business Council of Alberta, the Creative Destruction Lab, the Economic Futures Council of Junior Achievement, the Fraser Institute and the Modern Miracle Network.
Mr. Davidson's principal occupation is a Corporate Director. Mr. Davidson co-founded FirstEnergy Capital Corp. in 1993 which became the world’s premier choice for energy sector investment banking.
Subsequently, Mr. Davidson was the Deputy Chairman of GMP First Energy, Canada’s leading energy-focused investment bank from which he retired from his role in 2018.
Mr. Davidson holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and has earned the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) designation.
Mr. Davidson has more than 41 years of experience providing investment banking and financial services to a broad spectrum of companies in a variety of industries, most notably in the energy sector.
In 2016 Mr. Davidson was inducted into the IIAC Investment Industry Hall of Fame and awarded a "Lifetime Achievement Award" by the Oil & Gas Council. Jim is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Governor General of Canada.

Danielle Smith is a politician, journalist, business owner, podcast host & former leader of the Wild Rose Party from October 2009 to December 17, 2014.
As leader of the Wild Rose Party, Danielle was instrumental in the parties growth as one that lacked official party status, to one that formed the official opposition within three years.
Prior to being elected leader of the Wildrose Party, Danielle was the director of provincial affairs for Alberta with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
Danielle attended the University of Calgary and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English & Economics.
She married her husband, David Moretta in 2006 and together they own and operate The Whistle Stop Diner, a fully renovated 1940s rail dining car.
Danielle has also re-launched the The Danielle Smith Show on Western Standard Online, as she seeks the United Conservative Party (UCP) nomination in Livingstone-Macleod against incumbent MLA Roger Reid.

This episode we are joined by Audrey Mascarenhas – CEO of Questor Tech, for another edition of the Rundle Eco-Cap series - where the idea is to explore companies making a profit, while also giving back to the environment.
Questor is a clean technology company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with a market cap of around $40MM.
Questor provides technology to reduce pollution emissions, maximize data and increase energy efficiency.
In simple terms, Questor provides hardware to industrial applications in order to cleanly combust waste gas streams (Methane), that otherwise would be flared into the atmosphere.
This reduction in emissions helps reduce harm to the environment, and protects people from breathing in these harmful gasses that often contain carcinogenic properties.
Audrey also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary.
She is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineers, served as a distinguished lecturer with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, is a member of the Schulich Industry Engineering Advisory Council, and currently chairs the Canadian federal government clean technology strategy table.

Pine Cliff Energy is a public company actively engaged in the exploration, development and production of natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids in Western Canada.
Pine Cliff currently produces ~21,000 boe per day, and trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange with a market cap of approximately $400 million.
As commodity prices continue to rise 2021/2022, Pine Cliff has enjoyed enormous gains including a 45% free cash flow yield, plans to eliminate all debt, and its first dividend scheduled to begin in May of 2022.
With a single digit decline rate on production (industry average is ~ 30%), Pine Cliff plans to continue its steady growth rate as the Canadian energy industry recovers.
