Travis Makes Friends
Travis Chappell
Frequency: 1 episode/3d. Total Eps: 912

As the world goes more virtual, it’s more and more difficult to keep making friends as adults —especially if you want friends who will bring energy to your life instead of drain it, friends with whom you can be honest, friends who have your best interest at heart, and ultimately, friends who turn you into a better version of yourself. If you’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with, then making friends is the number one self-development activity you can master. After 800 episodes of the top-rated business podcast Build Your Network, Travis Chappell learned that networking is really the same thing as just making friends with people. In this newly rebranded show, Travis Makes Friends, it’s Travis’ goal to simply give listeners like you a chance to get to know world-class performers who can help you become a better version of yourself and share his connection secrets in the process. If you want friends that push you to be better, then subscribe to the show and join Travis as he has conversations with world-class athletes like Shaquille O’Neal, entertainers like Rob Dyrdek, authors like Dr. Nicole LePera, former presidents like Vicente Fox, or even the occasional FBI hostage negotiator, billionaire real estate mogul, polarizing political figure, or controversial social media influencer. It’s time to stop networking and start making better friends.

935: Josh Goodman | Leading the Self-Pour Revolution with 12,000 Taps Worldwide
lundi 26 août 2024 • Duration 01:09:46
Josh grew up in Chester, Virginia, about 20 minutes south of Richmond off I-95. Sports and competition made a big impact in his early years. After being All-State in two sports, he accepted a football scholarship to play Linebacker at Shippensburg University. He still holds the career solo tackles record from starting all 4 years. Josh’s first job in hospitality was as a server and barback at Bottoms Up Pizza in Richmond, Va. Prior to PourMyBeer, he worked in Business Development with Modis, a publically traded IT Staffing Firm. He was hired to develop the Baltimore Metro market for the company. Landing several blue-chip accounts took that market from non-existent to a top producer in a matter of 24 months. One day in 2009, he decided he wanted to take a 95% pay cut, quit his job where he played golf 3 days a week, and invest his entire life savings in building a self-pour company. Yadda, yadda, yadda, here we are today after 3 significant chapters in business and life. To get the full story go to TapTheBigIdea.com
His wife, Janette (Pieczynski) Goodman, is in the Shippensburg University Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, holds the school record for career steals (not including Josh’s heart), and is a Marketing Director for Astellas Pharmaceuticals. They have 2 children, Tyler and Brianna, and live in Harleysville, Pa (30 minutes north of Philadelphia) with their Goldendoodle, Belle, and their bearded dragon Coco. Outside of PourMyBeer, Josh enjoys biking, snowboarding, basketball, pickleball, cornhole, grilling, hazy IPAs, and singing 90’s hip hop in his car by himself.

926: Nicole Wingard and Mike Chambers | The Best Marketing Strategy Ever
lundi 24 juin 2024 • Duration 01:56:29
What's up, #SmashArmy?!
Join me for a two-hour deep-dive into one of the most viral marketing campaigns of the year and one of the most successful rebrands I've ever seen.
Today, I'm making friends with Nicole Wingard and Mike Chambers.
Nicole is best known as "Nicole the intern" who went viral for creating 60 days of video content for the brand Mixoloshe to "prove to her boss that smashing a can is more effective than his entire marketing strategy."
Safe to say she was successful.
Mixoloshe grew from 0 to 500K followers in less than 60 days, and sales exploded, culminating in a full rebrand of the non-alcoholic beverage company, now (appropriately) called SMASHD. She also got promoted to "Chief Smash Officer."
Mike is the CMO turned CEO of SMASHD who worked with Nicole to craft this incredible campaign.
