Cycling New Zealand track cycling coach Fionn Cullinane takes us through what 'regular' riders can learn from the pros, but also the important basics that shouldn't be neglected.


Fionn has been with CNZ for five years and is the current Sprint Development Coach. Anyone visiting Cambridge will have seen him around the pits, or pacing someone on the moto. It's his job to coach the next wave of Olympic sprinters and helps the up and comers develop from club riders to top pros.

Pat has won Wellington's Laykold Cup Scratch - the oldest surviving race on the track cycling calendar in New Zealand, and is known for his alternative, occasionally befuddling, yet often successful race moves.

Shaane hails from Tasman Wheelers, a club with a solid history of producing champions, but there's a connection to Wellington as well as she's had the pleasure of thrashing our riders on a number of occasions.
