E104: How Your Nervous System is Blocking Your Income (and What to Do About It)

Episode 104

jeudi 17 juillet 2025Duration 39:08

In today's show episode of Through a Trauma-informed Lens: Soma, Psyche and Soul, I am talking about something I see (and lived through myself) again and again: the connection between our nervous system and our capacity to receive - money, clients, visibility and success. This isn’t about “thinking more positively” or “hustling harder.” It’s about the lived, inner somatic experience of safety, survival responses, and how they shape every step of the way what you allow yourself to receive.

I’m not focusing on theories here but instead I share lived wisdom from over two decades of trauma-informed somatic work, and what I teach inside my 160-hour training certification, my business mentorship programs, and my own embodied journey of running a soulful, sustainable business.

In this episode I share:

  • Why mindset alone isn’t enough - and what’s missing if you’ve done all the “right” things but still feel stuck
  • How nervous system dysregulation can unconsciously block income, visibility, and growth
  • The subtle signs of fight/flight/freeze/fawn patterns in your business - and how to shift them
  • Gentle daily embodied practices to grow your capacity to receive - and do it safely, slowly and sustainably
  • Why creating a regulated internal state changes how you show up, how you sell, and what you attract

If your income doesn’t match your effort, and your nervous system is feeling overwhelmed or stuck, this episode will help you understand why - and what to do about it, in a way that honours your rhythm, your body, and your soul.

E103: Mid‑Year Somatic Business Check‑In: Align Your Business, Body and Nervous System

Episode 103

jeudi 10 juillet 2025Duration 28:02

In today's episode of my show Through a Trauma-Informed Lens: Soma, Psyche and Soul, I want to offer you something spacious and grounding - an invitation to pause, reflect, and check in with your body, your business, and your soul. We’re halfway through the year, and this is an important time to review how things are really going - beyond just the numbers. In this episode, I share some personal reflections from my recent challenges and why I’m so grateful to have a business that supports the ebb and flow of life. I also walk you through how I do my own mid-year business review - not just through metrics and data, but through somatic wisdom, nervous system awareness, and soul-aligned planning.

Whether you’re feeling aligned and thriving - or wobbly and unsure - I hope this episode gives you permission to review your work and your life with tenderness, honesty, and a sense of renewal.

In this episode, I explore:

  • Why sustainable success requires both data and embodied self-reflection - and how to use both to guide your next steps
  • How your body holds wisdom about what’s working and what’s draining you - and how to listen to that truth with compassion
  • The difference between working in your business and on your business - and why so many brilliant women neglect the latter
  • How nervous system regulation is not just a personal practice - it’s a business skill - and one of the foundations I teach in our 160-hour coaching certification
  • Why the season of life you’re in matters deeply in how you grow your business - especially if you’re moving through perimenopause, caring for others, or simply craving change

This episode is an invitation to slow down and realign - not with hustle or pressure, but with clarity, softness and integrity. Let yourself review, release, and realign for the second half of the year in a way that honours your truth, your needs and your joy.

If this resonates and you want to go deeper into these kinds of embodied practices, I invite you to explore my 160-hour Trauma-Informed Somatic Teacher & Coach for Women Certification. We go deeply into all of this together - nervous system, female embodiment and leadership, aligned business, and soul-led growth.

E94: When Things Aren’t Working: A Somatic and Trauma-Informed Approach to Navigating Stuckness

Episode 94

jeudi 1 mai 2025Duration 43:28

In today's episode I’m speaking to a feeling so many of us - especially sensitive, heart-led women practitioners - know deeply: that sense of stuckness. When it seems like nothing is working, and we spiral into overwhelm, self-doubt, or shame, it’s easy to feel alone and hopeless. But I want you to know this: There is nothing wrong with you. You and your felt experience make perfect sense. This is my invitation for you to find your way back to your stable, grounded, present and thriving self.

In this episode, I share:

  • Why feeling stuck isn’t a sign of failure or brokenness, but a somatic and nervous system response that deserves your kindness and compassion
  • How fight/flight/freeze states disconnect us from our inner and outer resources, and how that impacts our sense of purpose, safety, and trust
  • The difference between thriving and surviving, and how these nervous system states shape our thoughts, behavior, and business choices
  • Why sensitivity, empathy, and trauma histories can make us more vulnerable to stuckness - and how we can honour that with gentle and kind self-regulation practices
  • A guided invitation to pause, turn inward, and name the state you’re in - creating space for reconnection, resourcing, and authentic soul expression

E4: Two types of skills you need to learn as a self-employed practitioner or business owner

Episode 4

mercredi 6 septembre 2023Duration 25:58

If you are a self-employed practitioner or business owner there are two types of skills you need to learn. First you have to learn your 'modality' skills, second you have to learn business skills to make your business sustainable. From my own experience and working with many practitioners I know that many of us focus on learning how to be better in our work but don't spend enough time to learn how to make our business sustainable and thriving. And without learning how to build our business that is right for us we can easily hit burnout or give up doing what we love.

E3: How to know you are following your own Embodied Wisdom Path

Episode 3

mercredi 6 septembre 2023Duration 19:35

Are you following your own path? Are you making decisions from your embodied wisdom and your soul calling? Or are you trying to squeeze yourself into a mould that is not you just because you think you should in order to be accepted or recognised? Following your own Embodied Wisdom Path takes courage because it is a 'road less travelled'. If you choose to follow this path you will have to face your inner parts and others' expectations of you. It will challenge you deeply. But it is also a path of healing, growth and creativity. And if you have the courage to allow yourself to follow it you will find deep connection with yourself and others. You can find more information about my programmes at www.anetai.co.uk.

E2: What would you do if you were in charge of the world?

Episode 2

mercredi 6 septembre 2023Duration 21:33

Today I want to ask you a simple question: What would you do if you were in charge of the world? For me this is one of the most important questions we need to ask ourselves as human beings, practitioners and business owners. I've been pondering this question for many years now. I know from experience that if you take time to answer this question it can guide you to realign with your values and make decisions and action from that aligned space. I think it is our responsibility to ask ourselves those questions if we want to make a positive social impact within our communities and the world. Because every voice and every choice matters, and it contributes to either healing or destruction. You can find more information about my programmes at www.anetai.co.uk.

E1: Introduction and the inspiration behind my trauma-informed somatic work

Episode 1

vendredi 1 septembre 2023Duration 36:53

Welcome to my new podcast Through a trauma-informed Lens - Soma, Psyche and Soul.

Thank you for taking time to listen to this episode. Today I'd like to share with you a little about my journey and what inspired me to work, mentor, coach, and train others in trauma-informed somatic approach. My inspiration and commitment to share this work with my clients and other soul-led practitioners (female and male) comes from my own life experiences including moving on my own to London from Poland when I was 18, practicing Yoga and Mindfulness for last 30 years, and my experience of working with trauma, crisis intervention, mental health, substance use, DV and intensive family work in Social Care and the community for past 25 years, teaching Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation and other therapeutic yoga, Somatic Movement and Somatic and Embodiment approaches for past 13 years, and working with Thai Yoga Massage and somatic bodywork, as well as attending many holistic, therapeutic and coaching trainings over the past three decades.

I deeply believe that if you are a practitioner working with and supporting others in their healing and growth you need to be trained in trauma aware and informed approach, and work in a holistic and body-focused way. I feel very passionate about sharing this knowledge, understanding and practices, and in this way be part of creating positive impact within our communities and the world.

E92: From Recovery to Empowerment to Soul Alignment – Reclaiming Your Power Back

Episode 92

jeudi 10 avril 2025Duration 22:35

In this episode, I reflect on the journey many of us take - from healing and recovery, into embodied empowerment, and then into the beautiful unfolding of our soul potential. As we prepare to start the 5th cohort of our Trauma-informed Somatic Teacher and Coach for Women Certification©, I share the incredible growth I’ve witnessed within our training spaces and the profound shifts that happen when women come together with intention, care, and embodied presence.

I share what it truly means to take your power back, and the powerful distinction between gentle and fierce self-compassion - and why we need both on this path. I also offer insights into the 3 stages of growth that form the core of my Soma-Psyche-Soul Coaching Model©, which we use in the training.

Whether you're a practitioner, a coach, a healer, or simply someone on your own path of recovery and reclamation, I hope this episode gives you a felt sense of what’s possible.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • The nurturing and transformational power of safe, women-led learning containers

  • The difference between gentle and fierce self-compassion, and how to know what you need more of

  • The 3 stages of healing and growthRecovery, Empowerment and Potential

  • Why staying in the recovery stage too long can keep you stuck - and how to move forward with kindness

  • How our coaching certification supports this full journey: from nervous system regulation to Feminine Wholeness and Empowered Feminine Leadership

  • What becomes possible when you’re no longer driven by survival, but guided by your soul

If this resonates and you feel the call to explore more, I’d love to invite you to check out the next cohort of our certification training. Imagine where you could be in a year from now - not just in your work, but in how you live, choose, and relate to yourself and others.

E91: Conversation with Kate Codrington: Peri-menopause as Second Spring - Messy, Magical and Deeply Transformative

Episode 91

jeudi 3 avril 2025Duration 48:45

In this episode, I have the pleasure of talking with Kate Codrington about the emotional and spiritual landscape of perimenopause and menopause. We explore how we can redefine what it means to be a woman in midlife and take our power back. We talk about how powerful it is to validate our emotions, how our sensitivity is purposeful, and how this phase invites us to reclaim rest, say 'no' more often, and slow down in radical ways.

Kate is a mentor, author, speaker, facilitator, artist and podcaster. The author of Second Spring: the self-care guide to menopause, one of the seven best books on menopause according to the New York Times. Kate mentors professionals and people in perimenopause and beyond, 1-2-1 and in groups, is a nature-based Yoga Nidra meditation guide, hosts Life - An Inside Job podcast, has been a therapist for over 30 years and creates multi-level art textile projects. When she’s not doing these things you’ll find her playing in her compost heaps. Her second book, The Perimenopause Journal, is available now.
