| 3.16 Mars and Venus in the Bedroom [Part 5 of 5 of the Conscious Sexuality Series] | 01 Mar 2022 | 00:47:22 | |
In today’s episode, Anna leads, discussing another book of John Gray, PhD, author of “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.” In “Mars and Venus in the Bedroom,” Gray dives deeper into the nuances of sexual behavior, psychology, and performance. Are quickies “allowed” in your relationship? How well do you communicate in bed? Is the way to a man’s heart really through sex? What are the secrets to great passion? We hope to answer all these questions and more, on today’s episode of “This Spiritual Fix.” “Eroticism in the home requires active engagement and willful intent. It is an ongoing resistance to the message that marriage is serious, more work than play; and that passion is for teenagers and the immature. We must unpack our ambivalence about pleasure, and challenge our pervasive discomfort with sexuality, particularly in the context of family. Complaining of sexual boredom is easy and conventional. Nurturing eroticism in the home is an act of open defiance.” - Esther PerelVisit our website show notes for more. | 3.06 The Mother Wound Part II: Embracing the Chaos of Love | 21 Dec 2021 | 01:05:40 | |
Happy Solstice! In this second part of a three part series on The Mother Wound, Kristina dives into the deeper layer of the Mother Wound: the pain we carry with respect to The Great Mother - the feminine aspect of creation. The Great Mother is maya. Maya, comes from Advaita Vedanta philosophy, which is a branch of Hinduism which subscribes to the idea of non-duality. That is, ultimately we are all one. In this context, maya is “the magic power with which a god can make human beings believe in what turns out to be an illusion. By extension, it later came to mean the powerful force that creates the cosmic illusion that the phenomenal world is real. For the Nondualists, maya is thus that cosmic force that presents the infinite brahman (the supreme being) as the finite phenomenal world. Maya is reflected on the individual level by human ignorance (ajnana) of the real nature of the self, which is mistaken for the empirical ego but which is in reality identical with brahman” (Britannica, 2021). In this episode two silly best friends break down this philosophy to make accessing and healing The Great Mother Wound palpable for all.
