For our last TYPP Episode this series, we chat with Mark Isaacs, co-founder of Analyst Economy, a community of freelance analysts.


After high school in England, Mark studied Geography at Oxford University, focusing on Climate Research. After university, Mark took up an internship position at Futures in the UK, which is a global sports business consultancy. Futures gave Mark the opportunity to move to Australia, which he did in 2015, from London to Sydney.


Mark then led the opening of the Futures Melbourne office, where he ended up leading a team of analysts and working as an in-house consultant at Cricket Australia.


Mark recently left Futures to start his own business, Analyst Economy, which we loved exploring in this episode.

With two years of industry experience under her belt working as a forensic psychologist, Steph works with some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Laura began her professional career during Year 12 as a participant in PwC's cadetship program, going on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne (https://study.unimelb.edu.au/find/courses/undergraduate/bachelor-of-commerce), majoring in Accounting and Management whilst working at PwC 4 days a week. Laura spent the last year of her degree working for a local accounting firm, before jetting off to Los Angeles to complete her final semester on exchange at the University of Southern California (https://www.usc.edu). Laura returned to PwC in Melbourne full-time in 2018.


During her career to date, Laura has collaborated with over 65 countries across 6 continents, so it was brilliant chatting to such a worldly young professional in this week’s episode!

Lauren started working as a UX Designer in Melbourne before moving her life to the USA. Lauren is passionate about growing women in tech and sponsoring people from under-represented minorities.

Kirsty's journey into the workforce began when she was at university, completing part-time work at several architecture firms to contextualise her studies.


Upon finishing her masters, Kirsty secured a position at Lendlease (https://www.lendlease.com/au) as an undergraduate, where she worked for several years before moving to Probuild.


On top of project management, Kirsty is involved in the graduate program at Probuild, a topic we loved exploring in this episode.

Andrew works with his clients to improve efficiency, insights and tax governance compliance through process optimisation, being a strong advocate for the tax function in finance transformation projects.


Prior to starting Cumulus Tax, Andrew led Wolter Kluwer's enterprise software segment in Australia and New Zealand, advising top 100 and top 1000 tax functions on tax technology needs. He also spent 6 years at PwC (https://www.pwc.com.au), advising large corporates and multi-nationals on tax controversy and corporate tax matters. During his time, Andrew was heavily involved in canvas recruitment and a key member of the learning and development team.

Simon is now a columnist for The New Daily, and a former columnist for The Australian newspaper.
