They Mark My Steps with Michael T Simpson

This week, Michael T Simpson joins Cameron and Andy on the show to talk a little about his new book, They Mark My Steps.

Michael shares a number of stories with us in this episode. He shares the story of the tornado that hit his house in northeast Mississippi not long after the release of his first book. He talks about the emotions of his first turkey hunts soon after the turkey hunt.

Michael also talks about an exciting hunt in Texas with his wife this past spring where she got her first turkey ever after a long hiatus from turkey hunting.

The Story of a Bonafide Swamp Gobbler

This week Cameron and Andy share one of Andy's hunts from the 2024 spring turkey season to help deal with the fact that spring turkey season is still over 6 months away for most of the US.

In this hunt, Andy encounters high water and gobbling turkeys on a piece of property that he had never set foot on before. This was an interesting hunt, that like most of our hunts, involved several decisions that could have turned this hunt into a non-event. The story is a good one, and the hunt audio is brief.

This week, Cameron shares a 2'fer with us as he shares the stories and audio of two of his turkey hunts from this spring.

A Hardwod Hills Turkey Hunt

This week Cameron shares one of his 2022 spring turkey hunts with us. This is a hunt that took place pretty early in the spring out of state in the hardwood hills. 

Cameron was nearing the end of the time he allotted for himself to hunt that particular morning, and he struck a tom while running and gunning. With a little strategy he was able to seal the deal and put some meat in the freezer.

Also, in this episode, Cameron shares a story of his Osceola hunt this spring that involved a gun malfunction. You've gotta hear this.

Talking Turkeys and Life with The Critter Gitter

This week, Cameron and Andy have Braedan Henagar, aka The Critter Gitter, on the show to talk about turkeys and turkey hunting.

Braedan is a 16 year old young man who lives in Ohio and is absolutely gung ho on all types of hunting. Braedan's favorite animal to hunt is, of course, wild turkeys. He has lots of other hobbies like riding 4 wheelers and collecting reptiles as well.

Braedan and his parents also started a non-profit whose cause is to educate others on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and to find a cure. The cause is near and dear to Braedan and his parents because Braedan has Duchenne. Tube Calls and Trumpets from 2022 NWTF Convention

This week, Cameron and Andy play the recording from the Tube Calls and Trumpets seminar at the 2022 NWTF Convention and Sport Show in Nashville that took place in February.

Our friends, Harold Knight and Mark Prudhomme, led this seminar that was primarily about tube calls and trumpet calls, of course. But, there are so many amazing tips about calling and hunting given by these two guys that this is an episode you will not want to miss.

2022 Mid Season Check In

So far, the 2022 turkey seasons for Cameron and Andy have been drastically different. While Cameron has enjoyed a good bit of success on some out of state trips as well as his in-state hunts, Andy has been struggling at home and experiencing some success out of state.
