S9 Ep14: Text "M" For Murder

Season 9 · Episode 14

mardi 20 août 2024Duration 01:25:48

Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 classic Dial M For Murder is a celebrated work that has been remade for both the big and small screen, and the stage, and which concerns the tale of a cheating wife, a scheming husband, and an elaborate murder plot.

In 2007, a court in South Wales was to hear it's very own version, and just how life imitated art...

The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, including descriptions of a sexual nature, that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

S9 Ep13: Killer In Uniform

Season 9 · Episode 13

dimanche 11 août 2024Duration 01:16:34

There are countless memorials to the brave personnel of the Armed Forces scattered around the UK, but one of these, in Surrey, contains the names of several service personnel whose military service is overshadowed by one thing - the execution each faced for the heinous crimes they committed, not as an act of war, but as a case of murder. This time around, I bring you the tales of two of these.

The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening. There is also a racial slur used within the episode, and it should be stated categorically that the use of this does not reflect the views of myself or the show, it is featured merely because it is relevant to the tale in question.

S9 Ep4: My Brother, My Killer

Season 9 · Episode 4

samedi 6 avril 2024Duration 01:13:59

All families have squabbles from time to time - it's human nature. But sometimes, a squabble exists only in the mind of one family member, and when they become obsessed that they are right, wild horses cannot change their mind - sometimes, it borders on paranoia.

The tale this time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, a horrific tale from Manchester back in 2016, shows just what horrific consequenses paranoia can bring.

The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving  descriptions of injury detail, that some listeners may find disturbing and or distressing, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

This time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, in a continuation of this series' Thriller arc, the horrendous campaign of rape and then murder carried out by the two individuals we have come to know for now as Taller and Shorter took another turn - for with the case of a missing Hertfordshire woman, police who were hunting them soon had the very real fear that they had struck again.

S6 Ep20: Thriller - Part 3: Operation Bluebell

Season 6 · Episode 20

jeudi 22 juillet 2021Duration 01:13:00

Continuing this series Thriller arc, the two individuals we have met so far throughout the tale had soon gravitated from the appalling catalogue of sexual assaults they had carried out in the North London area over a period of three years. At the very end of 1985, they had crossed the thin line from rapist to killer with the appalling murder of a 19 year old secretary named Alison Day.

And almost five months later, they struck again, this time managing to add a new predatory dimension to their campaign.

The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving crimes of a sexual nature, involving a child, that some listeners may find disturbing and/or upsetting, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

S6 Ep19: Thriller - Part 2: Alison's Story

Season 6 · Episode 19

samedi 17 juillet 2021Duration 01:03:51

In the opening episode of this series Thriller arc, we were introduced to two individuals who from the middle of 1982 onwards, carried out an appalling catalogue of sexual assaults in the North London area. The attacks gained in proficiency and frequency, then at least one of the men branched out and began attacking women alone - as well as in tandem with his partner.

And finally, for whatever reason, sexual assault just wasn't enough - a step further was wanted, or needed. So with just two days of 1985 remaining, the line from rapist to killer was crossed by each.

The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events, involving crimes of a sexual nature, that some listeners may find disturbing and/or upsetting, so discretion is advised whilst listening.

Family is supposed to mean everything to a person, it's what we are raised in and grow with, it's what we go on to have ourselves, what we nurture, and what we are supposed to love and protect with our all.

But not everybody feels this, do they? This time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, there comes a tale of true horror from the turn of this century - where you'll see just how little family meant to one individual.

Whilst mass shootings are almost sadly commonplace in other countries, they are thankfully not so in the UK. Sure, there will be those that the tragic events are etched in your mind so much that just a single word conjures them up - Hungerford, Dunblane, Cumbria.

This time around on The True Crime Enthusiast Podcast, I bring you two accounts of ones that you may never have even heard of - which is surprising, because the events are horrific.

The episode contains details and descriptions of crimes and events that some listeners may find disturbing and/or upsetting, so discretion is advised whilst listening.
