For our first show from Paris in 2025, Catherine, David and Matt are at Roland Garros to discuss the French Open draws.

Part one - Women’s draw. The big headline from the draw was that Jelena Ostapenko has landed in Iga Swiatek’s section. Will that match happen? And just how tricky is Swiatek’s possible route here? There’s also chat about how top heavy the draw is generally, how Aryna Sabalenka’s draw could develop into a hard one, and why it looks like a dream draw for Coco Gauff. 

Part two - Men’s draw (from 20m11s). We react to Carlos Alcaraz coming to the draw ceremony and studying the draw, ponder whether things could get difficult for Jannik Sinner, and consider how things might go for Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, Casper Ruud and Lorenzo Musetti.

On Monday night we were live to review Finals weekend in Rome, talk a little bit about our new partnership with The Athletic, and look ahead to Roland Garros. 

Part one - WTA. We discuss Jasmine Paolini beating Coco Gauff in the final, following it up with the doubles title, and forcing us to eat some humble pie. 

Part two - ATP (from 26m30s). We talk about how Carlos Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner and how the course of their rivalry has changed.

Catherine, David and Matt discuss the start of the clay court season, headlined by victories for Jessica Pegula and Jenson Brooksby. 

Part one - WTA Results. Pegula shows her toughness and her variety to win the first clay court title of her career in Charleston over Sofia Kenin. We discuss her reascension to American number one and compare her career with players like Jelena Ostapenko and Sofia Kenin who have won a slam but don't have her consistency. Plus, Camila Osorio wins Bogota for the third time. 

Part two - ATP Results (from 30m). Brooskby saves match point in three different matches to win the first title of his career in Houston. We discuss his return to the tour, why we enjoy watching him play, and his final victory over Frances Tiafoe. There’s also chat about Flavio Cobolli not only snapping his 8-match losing run, but doing so by winning the title in Bucharest. 

Part three - News (from 50m27s). Top players send a letter to the Grand Slams asking for more prize money, so what does that mean for the PTPA lawsuit? There’s also change at the top of the ATP, Coco Gauff leaving Team8, and a look ahead to Monte Carlo and the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers this week.

With David Law’s ferocious 24 hour bug, day jobs and a seven-hour time difference getting in the way, the Tennis Podcast’s Singapore WTA Finals show is a bit delayed, but worth the wait. Just not in quite the way you might imagine.

There’s the usual review of last week’s action, including great wins for Juan Martin del Potro, Julia Goerges, Jo Wilfried Tsonga and others, an update and insight from Singapore where David is on-site at the WTA Finals, and then something unexpected happens.
