#28: What your tongue, digestion and pulse are actually saying with Dr. Kassie Sorokach

jeudi 11 juin 2026Duration 44:49

Have you ever wondered what your body is trying to tell you—beyond the symptoms? While Western medicine typically address the "what", Traditional Chinese Medicines looks at the "why."

This week, I sat down with Dr. Kassie Sorokach who is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, and faculty at Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine. She joins us to break down what Traditional Chinese Medicine actually assesses when it looks at your body, and why your "normal" lab results might be missing the whole picture.

We get into the five elements, the organ body clock, what your tongue is quietly telling you, and why emotions like grief, worry, and stress aren't just in your head—they live in specific organs and show up as physical symptoms. We also get into what your digestion and pulse reveal, and why Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners are asking questions your doctor never will.

#18: Regulating your Nervous System through Breathwork with Jon Orsini

Season 2 · Episode 18

mardi 25 novembre 2025Duration 01:04:14

Why is it that everyday stress makes our nervous system think there's a tiger in the room?

In this episode, Anabel and Jon Orsini—a certified somatic breathwork guide and faculty member at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health and T. Schreiber Acting Studio in NYC—explore how our breath can become one of the most powerful tools we have for nervous system regulation.

In this episode, we get into:

  • Why the nervous system often misreads modern stress as danger

  • Jon’s three pillars of calm breathing: nose, belly, slow

  • Why breathwork is less about oxygen—and more about CO₂ tolerance

  • How to use triangle breathing and box breathing without creating more stress

  • Why emotional releases aren’t the goal—and why agency and safety matter

  • How breathwork helps you build a bigger emotional “container” so you can respond instead of react
