On THE RECORD STORE PODCAST, the theme of the "record store" has a double meaning. In reality, a record store is a place of discovery and a safe space where creativity thrives as people open themselves up to new ideas through community. Everyone has their own place like a record store that they find solace in. I’ll deep dive with my guests into what place is special for them, how it’s molded their lives, and we’ll just see where the conversation goes. Whether you are a musician, a DJ, a comedian, a writer, a designer, whatever you are, we all have our own record store.

My guests for this episode is Shooting Daggers, a Queercore Punk band based in London, as we discuss their debut album, Love & Rage, out now via Heavy New Sounds. With the band creating an ascending buzz online, after giving them a listen, they have the potential to become one of the next bands to watch out for. With their members coming from all parts of Europe, they found each other and a community along the way in London and we talk about it at length in this episode. We get into what each member's "Record Store" is and the importance of empowerment and representation within any community, and so much more.

Also, during our conversation, they spoke about Overdrive Studios, an independently run studio space with practice rooms and a DIY music venue in the heart of Deptford, South-East London that the band frequently uses that is danger of closure. Consumers can choose from 13 different recreational categories, including best indica, sativa, and hybrid flower, edible categories such as gummies and non-gummies, concentrates, vape carts, beverages and more. In total, the competition will feature 60 brands, 180+ product entries and 330,000 grams of cannabis across flower, concentrates, vape pens and edibles.
Posney discusses the cannabis industry and the importance of community and sharing knowledge. The Best in Grass competition aims to elevate cannabis brands and provide feedback from regular consumers. The conversation also touches on the changing perception of cannabis and the need for education, especially for new users. Posney emphasizes the importance of being authentic and living life on your own terms.

For the debut episode of THE RECORD STORE PODCAST, I'm joined by longtime friend and Detroit Hip-Hop artist Paradime, who recently dropped a new album Period. via Mello Music Group after taking over a decade long break from releasing music.
