What Started It All

Season 3 · Episode 152

mardi 16 décembre 2025Duration 34:52

⚠️ Content Warning: This episode includes discussion of sexual assault and suicidal ideation. Please listen with care and prioritize your safety.

In this powerful Season 3 finale, Lyndsay Soprano opens up like never before. She reflects on her own story—navigating trauma, chronic pain, and the often invisible weight of living in a body that refuses to cooperate. From a deeply personal history of sexual assault to the ongoing fight for care and dignity as someone living with disability, Lyndsay doesn’t hold anything back.

She shares what it’s been like returning to ketamine therapy, the exhaustion of chasing diagnoses, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going when healing feels impossibly far away. But this episode isn’t just about her, it’s about all of us. The ones who are still hurting. The ones in therapy. The ones who are tired. The ones who show up anyway.

Season 3 ends not with a neat conclusion, but with a clear message: we must start where we are. We must continue to have the uncomfortable conversations. And we don’t have to do it alone.

Tune in to the finale if you need a reminder that your story matters, your pain is valid, and there is real strength in showing up exactly as you are.

Season 3 · Episode 151

mardi 2 décembre 2025Duration 42:03

When your body is breaking down, how do you continue to show up with power and purpose? In this inspiring episode, Lyndsay Soprano sits down with Fitz Koehler—a cancer survivor, fitness expert, and fierce advocate for living fully, no matter what life throws your way.

Fitz shares her journey from diagnosis to recovery, and how she used fitness not just as a physical outlet, but as a mental and emotional anchor. She and Lyndsay discuss the importance of self-examination, the value of integrating Western medicine with holistic care, and why small, intentional shifts can lead to significant, lasting results.

They also dive into the importance of community, storytelling, and creating space for both grit and grace in the healing process. Fitz opens up about her new book and podcast, both of which were created to inspire others to move their bodies, take control of their health, and find joy even in the most challenging seasons.

This episode is a powerful reminder that you don’t have to wait for perfect circumstances to start prioritizing yourself. You can choose to fight. You can choose to feel strong. And you absolutely deserve to feel good in your body again.

Where Stillness Meets Strength

Season 3 · Episode 142

mardi 30 septembre 2025Duration 31:36

When everything around you feels loud, fast, and overwhelming, sometimes the best thing you can do is stop, and get in cold water. In this episode, Lyndsay Soprano is joined by Kris Rice for a conversation about nervous system healing, resilience, and how cold therapy became a lifeline for navigating chaos.

Kris shares her journey of creating the ChillPod—a luxury cold immersion system designed to make cold plunging feel empowering, accessible, and deeply restorative, especially for women. She and Lyndsay unpack how cold exposure doesn’t just reduce inflammation or nerve pain, it rewires how you respond to stress, helps you come back to your body, and reminds you that you're stronger than your worst days.

They talk about setting intentions, listening to your body, and creating space for stillness when the world keeps pushing you to hustle. Whether it’s cold plunging, breathwork, or simply being honest about what you need, this episode is a nudge toward choosing calm, even when everything feels like chaos.

Tune in if you’re ready to reset your system, reclaim your calm, and start building a wellness practice that actually works for you.

Infections + Stress = Chronic Pain

Episode 51

mardi 25 juillet 2023Duration 51:54

In this episode, Lyndsay Soprano and Dr. David Bilstrom discuss infection, stress, and chronic illness/disease and how we can get ahead of it at a young age before it creeps up and wrecks all kinds of havoc in our bodies, health, and lives.

But also how to help FIX it after you think it might be too late.

Dr. Bilstrom speaks about Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) that inform chronic illness and autoimmune disease. They discuss chronic illness from his personal eyes in his family which led him to get involved in asking the question WHY are people, especially women, getting so sick?

This led to the conversation of something called Estrogen Dominance. In his words, it’s the most dangerous disease for women.

Estrogen dominance can lead to so many horrible things in women from ovarian cysts fibroids, endometriosis, bad menstrual cycles, and more. It also drives excessive worry, anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia.

80% of people that get auto-immune disease are women. And if you get estrogen dominance before menopause, you have a 5.4 times greater risk of getting breast cancer before menopause. And a 10 times greater risk of malignant cancers your entire lifetime--the ones that travel.

LISTEN. AND LISTEN NOW.

Dr. David Bilstrom is an Autoimmune Medicine Specialist, quadruple board certified in Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Medical Acupuncture. He is the Director of the International Autoimmune Institute and the Bingham Memorial Center for Functional Medicine and the author of the book The Nurse Practitioners Guide to Autoimmune Medicine. He works closely with his wife Jody, who is a licensed clinical social worker and expert in how adverse childhood disease drives chronic disease. Together they help thousands of people a year reverse autoimmune and chronic diseases and are on a mission to change the way autoimmune disease is treated worldwide.

Pornography Addicts Get Rebooted

Episode 49

mardi 11 juillet 2023Duration 50:26

In this episode, Lyndsay Soprano speaks with J.K. Emezi, from Elevated Recovery, a Pornography Addiction Reboot program.

They discuss how his struggle with pornography addiction led him down a dark and twisted journey. He was consumed by the addiction, was unable to establish intimate relationships, focus on academics or employment, or manage his emotions.

Coming from a deep conservative upbringing and repression of emotions that needed to be released, his addiction continued to spiral until he was out of control.

Out of the darkness rose this incredible man who has gone from poverty, addiction, extremely low self-esteem, and depression to HAPPINESS and financial success. And is no longer under the guise of pleasure and pain worshipping.

He removed his fears and rebooted! He is in the driver’s seat, and he has a pretty sweet view.

Thanks for joining me, man. It was a pleasure to interview you and I am grateful for your vulnerability and candor.

Your Body Has a Message For You

Episode 48

mardi 4 juillet 2023Duration 40:52

In this episode, Lyndsay Soprano and Dr. Andrea Moore, PT, DPT, OCS, NTP discuss her journey from chronic pain and post-concussive syndrome after a car accident to anxiety and ADHD sharing her journey to where she is today.

She lived in so much pain for her whole life, she thought that this was just normal!! It wasn’t debilitating but aggravating. As she went down a painful journey, she found out that living life in pain is actually NOT normal!! How sad that we feel that we must live with pain, and it has been normalized. We talk about living in fear and safety and how to desensitize our central nervous system.

By focusing on somatic part of the nervous system we can start to gain a wealth of knowledge about our bodies, minds, and souls.

Somatic = relating to the body Somatic work doesn’t have a universal definition as the above definition is a bit vague.

It is working on what your nervous system is holding onto like our traumas. Massive amounts of traumas that have added up over time.

If we are only looking at the mind then we neglect the body. And when we are only looking at the physical body, then we are neglecting the mind. And when we look at both of those but never look at our thoughts and our mindset and what is the nervous system is actually holding, then our pain continues.

We speak about one of the most important things in life—shifting your mindset. How different parts of your body and nervous system are holding onto past traumas.

Sometimes TOO much mindfulness work can actually FLARE the pain because we are getting a little too intense and deep with the work that we actually cause ourself more issues. It’s a delicate balance indeed.

Both Dr. Moore and Lyndsay have suffered concussions. Multiple concussions. And one of the most scary things about concussions is if you experience post-concussion syndrome you can lose a part of you for a short or long length of time that affects your ability to focus and manage simple tasks and obstacles with grace.

A good infographic on post-concussion syndrome is below:
https://images.app.goo.gl/FBQ3UUw8ZF81qVkX7

Once you have started to experience any or all of the above symptoms, this pain starts to affect your intelligence with this post-concussive response. And that is one of the most fearful part of post-concussion syndrome.

The feeling like you are losing your mind! What follows is more fear. When you live in pain you live in fear that you might never recover and “this is it!?” Is your daily mantra. And what follows sometimes is shame and guilt.

When you have been through significant traumas, you tend to blame yourself which then leads to that shame and guilt. Which leads to the narrative of “I am damaged and broken and need to be fixed.”We aren’t broken. We are just cracked a little bit! And for empaths, we also take on other people’s pain and emotions which further breaks our souls adding to this fear and turmoil.

It’s a vicious cycle and one that affects not only ourselves, but our loved ones as well. When Lyndsay asked her sweetie about chronic pain and how it affects him, he says, “my chronic pain is yours!” That makes her so incredibly sad. Chronic pain essentially dissociates ourselves from our bodies. We end up living in your thoughts, not in the body itself. And we are disconnected from our bodies which means we are disconnected from the soul of our body.

We need to listen to our true authentic self and listen to it in a different way. Authentic wisdom. Listen to it. It will sound different than your current narrative. And accessing our authentic wisdom is key. And accessing that wisdom can be interpreted as a threat to the brain and doesn’t want to connect. Fear. Safety. Trauma. The vicious cycle continues.

We carry all of this weight from ancestral trauma, both men and women. We touch on how this type of trauma is carried through our DNA and our past heritage and patriarchy and how this leads to more chronic pain. It’s a conversation that you must listen to.

Letting Go of The Past With Mindfulness

Episode 46

mardi 20 juin 2023Duration 48:04

Episode 45 dropped this morning! In this episode, I talk with Tonia Cordi a life-alignment coach and professional organizer. about letting go of the past with mindfulness. We discuss anxiety, OCD, hoarding, and coping mechanisms that we create over time.

Listen to understand the ‘why’ behind our clutter and the ‘why’ behind the opposite of clutter.
And most importantly they discuss HEALING from past trauma and connecting to their purpose.

If you can’t control the unknown, your nervous system has been hard-wired from trauma. It lives in the past.

We can grow and change our thoughts and point of view to create our reality. It’s all connected.

And then we talk about perfectionism! And how detrimental that is to our health and well-being. “If I am perfect, then no one can judge me.”

Without Restraints

Episode 45

mardi 13 juin 2023Duration 49:09

In this episode, Lyndsay Soprano talks to the father/son duo, Rob and Ryan DeLena talk about Ryan's childhood behavior and how it led to placement in therapeutic schools.

These schools relied on detrimental methods of behavior modification such as physical restraints. He was heavily medicated and then committed to a mental hospital for further evaluation.

His parents were counseled to place Ryan in a group home. They refused.

The story of him convincing his parents to fight the medical and educational complexities over his care and school placement is one that cannot be missed. Together they fostered the freedom that Ryan needed to pursue his dream of becoming a professional ski mountaineer.

So they took him skiing. And discovered a different child than the version "experts" were so sure about. And the rest is in the future of this amazing kid!

They wrote a book together that is a must read, Without Restraint by Robert C. DeLena & Ryan C. DeLena.
