| Ep. 142 One More Swing | 28 sept. 2026 | 00:59:31 | |
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, Andy takes us through a very eventful round at the Wyong Seniors — complete with shanks, cold tops, lightning-fast greens, questionable pin positions, a rather creative cart-path strategy and some seriously impressive recovery putting. After making some significant swing changes, Andy is still trying to work out whether a disappointing score represents a step backwards or simply another part of the learning process. And that's where things get interesting. Because while Andy is wrestling with an eight-over 77, Steve has his own update: nine holes, eight pars, one double — and some of the best ball striking he's seen in a while. The strokes-gained numbers aren't perfect, but the feeling is unmistakable: something is starting to click. We talk about why progress in golf rarely happens in a straight line, why strokes gained is useful without telling the whole story, and why sometimes the most important sign of progress is simply wanting to play one more hole. There's also plenty of talk about the President's Cup, some sporting heartbreak, and the ongoing quest for middle-aged sporting glory. And then, appropriately, the Missing Links band closes things out with a new song about exactly what keeps us coming back: One more swing. One more chance. | Ep. 141 The Courage to Find Out You're Wrong | 23 sept. 2026 | 01:21:23
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, we go deep. After a quick detour through the President’s Cup, team pairings and a few ideas for how we might redesign international golf, Steve and Andy turn their attention to something much bigger: what actually allows us to keep learning and improving? After analysing more than 140 episodes of the show, Steve has identified a collection of traits that seem to sit underneath the Missing Links approach to golf and life: curiosity, humility, courage and patience. But there’s more to it than that. We talk about suspending certainty long enough for reality to teach us something new, allowing evidence to challenge our ego, and why golf is such a brutally effective laboratory for exposing the stories we tell ourselves. We explore why failure isn't necessarily the teacher — failure is the classroom, and reflection is the teacher. We talk about acceptance, the difference between accepting an uncertain outcome and simply giving up, and why freedom on the golf course may actually come from acceptance and commitment rather than confidence and certainty. And then there are two very Missing Links ideas: community and pilgrimage. Because improvement isn't a straight line. There is no finish line. Sometimes you're on the scenic route, sometimes you're in the trees, and sometimes reality simply tells you that you're not where you thought you were. We also introduce the Anti-Missing Links — certainty, pride, fear, rumination, resistance, outcome dependence, isolation and destination thinking — before discovering one more Missing Link that perhaps should have been there all along: Gratitude. Because we're not done yet. But that doesn't mean we can't stop occasionally, look around, and realise that we're already pretty lucky to be on the pilgrimage. Rock out, pilgrims. | Ep. 140 World Rules Official Appreciation Day | 14 sept. 2026 | 01:09:47
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy take a slightly crooked tour through the world of golf, technology, rules officials and Andy’s latest battle with his golf game. First up, the August results of the Missing Links Yearly Championship are finally revealed—and the boys discover that while they may not be covering themselves in glory, the pilgrims certainly are. There’s a record-breaking winning score, a playoff decided by the Dice of Truth, and plenty of reasons for Steve and Andy to lift their games. Then it’s off to Carnarvon for Andy’s latest tournament round. The round features some wildly inconsistent driving, a couple of doubles and a frustrating short-game performance, but there are some genuine positives hiding inside the wreckage—including some seriously confident putting. The boys also get stuck into one of golf’s great debates: should you leave the flagstick in when putting? The science, the psychology and the boys’ decidedly strong opinions are all brought to the table. And finally, inspired by the growing number of golfers turning to the Missing Links Facebook group for rules advice, the Missing Links Golf Show Band delivers its latest musical masterpiece: a tribute to the men and women who patrol the fairways enforcing the Rules of Golf. Because sometimes, there’s no relief. You just have to play it. | Ep. 139 Stop Thinking! | 08 sept. 2026 | 01:11:45
Andy Walker is back, still riding the high of his breakthrough round at the Penrith Senior Amateur — and this time he's brought a whole new theory of the golf swing with him. After working with Wendy Doolan, Andy has gone down the rabbit hole of Bioswing Dynamics, a methodology developed by Mike Adams that looks at a golfer's natural physical tendencies and body dimensions rather than trying to force everyone into the same swing model. Think of it as golf swing fitting for your body. We get into front-post, centre-post and rear-post golfers, ground forces, flying elbows, wingspans, forearm lengths and why Andy may have spent years trying to swing in a way that fights his natural tendencies. There's also more short-game work with Andrew Dodt, including weight staying forward, chest position, club path, tempo and the eternal battle against the dreaded chunk. But after all that technical discussion comes the important bit: you can't take 17 swing thoughts onto the golf course. Practice is where you make the changes. On the course, it's time to find your feel, pick your target and swing. And then, naturally, the Missing Links Golf Show Band turns that lesson into a brand-new golf rock anthem. It's complicated. It's fascinating. And ultimately, it's time to stop thinking. Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 138 One Shot at a Time | 01 sept. 2026 | 01:29:39
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in golf isn't a swing change or a new club. Sometimes it's simply learning to play the shot you're actually playing. Andy Walker heads to the Penrith Senior Amateur with a different approach. After a frustrating run of golf and plenty of swing changes, the goal is simple: stay in the round, enjoy the day and take it one shot at a time. And for once, the golf starts to look very different. There are good drives, impressive recoveries, questionable decisions and the usual reminders that golf is still golf. But the real breakthrough comes between the shots, as Andy catches himself getting ahead of the game and brings his thoughts back to the present without judgement. There's also the small matter of Mick Patterson's formal appeal to the Missing Links Championship Committee over his exclusion from the July Dice of Truth playoff. Naturally, the committee delivers a completely fair and entirely sensible ruling. It's an episode about good golf, better thinking and discovering what happens when you stop trying to play the whole round at once. One shot. Then the next. | Ep. 137 It Felt Like Golf | 27 août 2026 | 01:18:59
This week Steve takes us through his recent round with Super Coach Matt. The good, the bad and the lessons learned along the way. But before all of that we hear the boys' view on the recent test cricket series between Australia and Bangladesh and we also have an update on the July results for The Missing Links Golf Show Yearly Championship. So strap yourselves in and get ready to rock out because this time. It felt like golf! | Ep. 136 The Velocity of Your Game | 19 août 2026 | 01:23:53
Andy Walker heads back to one of his old junior stomping grounds for the Mollymook Senior Amateur — and discovers that while the scorecard says 79, the story is considerably more positive. After a week of preparation, some last-minute advice from former LPGA Tour player Wendy Doolan and a promising range session, Andy arrives at Mollymook feeling confident. Then the nerves kick in. There are snap hooks, unlucky bounces, slow greens, a cricket-ball-quality collision with a course stake and a few questionable club-selection decisions. But there are also plenty of signs that the game is moving in the right direction. The boys dig into why the score isn't always the best measure of how well you've played, the importance of staying in the fight when things aren't going your way, and their favourite concept of the "velocity" of your game — not just where your game is, but the direction and speed in which it's moving. There's also a deep dive into putting. Andy discusses his new putter, why he's finally starting to feel confident over longer putts, and the fascinating discovery that what your eyes tell you about your putting alignment may not be what is actually happening. And, naturally, there are some important questions: Why didn't Andy hit driver? What exactly constitutes a "stinger"? And how many times can you hit a snap hook before you finally admit there's a problem? The episode finishes with some exciting news: Andy has entered three more senior amateur events, all qualifiers for the NSW Senior Open. The pilgrimage continues. | Ep. 135 The Putter Doesn't Lie | 12 août 2026 | 01:07:11
Steve and Andy dive deep into the numbers behind Andy’s latest putting transformation, following a coaching session with Andrew Dote and a Sam PuttLab analysis of the new LAB DF3 Sweeper. The results are revealing. Andy’s new putter has dramatically improved his consistency and face stability, particularly on longer putts—but the data also exposes some new problems. He’s consistently hitting the putter on an outside-in path, producing what might be described as a remarkably reliable collection of baby fades. The boys unpack face aim, face rotation, impact position, launch angle, forward press, acceleration and the eternal battle between feel and real. They also explore why the right equipment matters: a club fitting won’t magically fix your golf swing, but the wrong equipment can make improvement almost impossible. And there’s a bigger lesson in the data. Knowing what you actually do, rather than what you think you do, changes the way you practise. Then Steve shares a brief update of a round with his new coach, Matt—a round that provides a perfect demonstration of another Missing Links principle. One bad shot doesn't have to become a bad round. Finally, the weather turns nasty, the temperature drops, the rain arrives, and the boys find themselves asking the question every golfer has asked at some point: Why do we do this? Fortunately, there might just be a song about it. Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 134 It Gets Ugly Before It Gets Better | 06 août 2026 | 01:18:30
Steve has officially found a coach. In this episode, Matt Woodbridge returns to the show—but this time with a very different role. After months of searching for someone who could provide more than another swing tip, Steve begins what he hopes will be a long-term coaching journey towards scratch golf. Rather than immediately changing mechanics, Matt starts by asking bigger questions:
The answers aren't as simple as they seem. The guys dive into why most coaching stops at the symptoms instead of addressing the causes, why data can sometimes challenge what you think your weaknesses are, and how real improvement requires commitment long before the scorecard shows it. Later, they unpack the first technical changes from Steve's initial practice session—including two setup adjustments that immediately transformed his five iron from a leaking 150-metre fade into a solid 170-plus metre strike. But perhaps the biggest lesson wasn't technical at all... Sometimes the swing has to feel completely wrong before it becomes right. It's an honest conversation about coaching, trust, patience and the uncomfortable reality that meaningful improvement often gets worse before it gets better. Rock Factor The episode finishes with the debut of Steve's new original song inspired by the coaching journey—a fitting reminder that the biggest breakthroughs often begin with the discomfort of change. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 133 When Going Low Get's Hard | 28 juil. 2026 | 01:09:22
What happens when you suddenly find yourself four under par after nine holes? This week Steve and Andy welcome back fan favourite Mick Patterson for an episode that starts with an ordinary competition round before taking an unexpected turn into one of the most fascinating mental game discussions we've had on the show. Mick shares the story of a practice round where, despite arriving underprepared and without his usual routine, he found himself four under through the front nine. The conversation explores what changes when you're playing better than you've ever played before—and why closing out great rounds is often harder than creating them. The boys unpack:
Later in the episode, Mick introduces his new golf simulator business, discussing everything from designing the perfect home setup to avoiding costly mistakes when building your own indoor practice space. To find out more about home golf simulators, contact Mick via 0410721864 or email mick@thesimstudio.com.au And of course, Golf Rock returns with another original song—this time dedicated to Andy Walker's long-running battle with Kooindah's infamous 13th hole. If you've ever wondered why your best golf disappears just when it matters most, this episode is for you. In This Episode

| Ep. 132 Playing to Win: Ryan Fox's Major Masterclass | 21 juil. 2026 | 01:14:23 | |
The final major of the year delivered everything—brilliant golf, controversial rulings, unforgettable moments and one of the best displays of championship composure you'll see. This week Steve and Andy unpack Ryan Fox's remarkable victory at Royal Birkdale, discussing the mindset that separates champions from contenders. They examine the crucial decisions that won Fox the Claret Jug, why one bogey may have been the best bogey of the week, and what every club golfer can learn from his fearless approach down the closing stretch. The conversation also tackles Bryson DeChambeau's rules controversy, Scottie Scheffler's fortunate break, the future of LIV Golf, and whether Australia deserves to host a major championship. Plus, they review the performances of the Australians, discuss the rise of Sam Burns and Cameron Young, analyse the latest Strokes Gained data, and ask whether the Australian Open really should be considered golf's "fifth major." | Ep. 131 The Pilgrimage Gets Serious: Inside Andy's Putting Revolution | 15 juil. 2026 | 01:14:15
The golfing pilgrimage takes another major step this week. Before diving into golf, Steve and Andy wrap up the State of Origin decider, celebrate a Blues victory and debate the biggest talking points from the series—including bunker decisions, fingernails, Cameron Smith's post-match commentary and whether Queensland really "understands Origin." Back on the fairways, listener feedback clears up Andy's confusion over the Rules of Golf and the mysterious "general area," before the monthly Missing Links Championship results are decided with another dramatic appearance from the Dice of Truth. The main event is Andy's deep dive into improving his putting. After seeking out former tour professional Andrew Dodt for coaching, Andy undergoes a full SAM PuttLab analysis that exposes exactly what's happening during his stroke. The data confirms long-held suspicions, uncovers several surprises and ultimately leads to a big equipment decision that could transform his game. Steve and Andy discuss why understanding your own tendencies is more important than copying someone else's technique, and why the right equipment should work with your swing—not against it. To finish the episode, the boys debut another original golf rock anthem celebrating every golfer's journey: Golfing Pilgrimage. Question of the Week Have you ever had a proper club or putter fitting that completely changed your game? Or are you still fighting your equipment instead of letting it help you? Let us know in The Missing Links Golf Club on Facebook or send us a message—we'd love to hear your story. | Ep. 130 The Return, The Reset & The 19th Hole Prophet | 08 juil. 2026 | 01:07:43
After two months away from competitive golf, Steve returns to competition play with no expectations—just gratitude for being back on the course. What follows is a hole-by-hole story of resilience, rust, recovery and a reminder that golf often rewards the players who stop trying to force perfection. Along the way, Steve is joined by a very special caddie whose words of wisdom become the defining lesson of the day, while Andy helps unpack what really mattered about the round beyond the final score. The boys also preview the State of Origin decider, analyse Steve's strokes gained numbers, discuss why the driver finally behaved itself again, and explore how shifting your mindset can sometimes unlock better golf than endless technical work. The episode finishes with the debut of another original Missing Links Golf Show song: "The 19th Hole Prophet" — a tribute to every golfer who's ever solved everyone else's swing over a beer in the clubhouse. In this episode
Memorable Quote "It isn't bad. It is what it is. You're deciding it's bad."Final Thought Sometimes the score isn't the biggest win. Sometimes simply being back on the golf course, appreciating the people you're with, and remembering why you love the game is enough. | Ep. 129 The War Inside The Mind | 03 juil. 2026 | 01:10:57
Andy returns from the Oatlands Seniors Championship with a scorecard he'd rather forget—but the numbers only tell part of the story. What begins as a tournament review quickly turns into one of the most honest conversations the boys have had about golf, confidence and improvement. Andy breaks down his round using Strokes Gained data, revealing just how costly an errant driver can be, while Steve challenges him to think beyond the score and examine what's really happening between the ears. The discussion explores a fascinating question every competitive golfer eventually faces: Do you earn confidence through preparation... or through experience? Along the way they discuss:
The episode finishes with an original Missing Links Golf Show rock ballad, "The War Inside My Mind," capturing the emotional rollercoaster every golfer knows all too well. If you've ever walked off the course questioning your game—or yourself—this episode will remind you that every golfer fights battles that never appear on the scorecard. Quote of the Week: "You don't rise to the occasion—you fall back on your preparation."Listener Question: When you're preparing for bigger tournaments, what's more important: putting in more practice before you compete, or gaining experience by playing more events? | Ep. 128 US Open Carnage: How Wyndham Clark Survived Shinnecock | 23 juin 2026 | 01:05:23
The US Open delivered exactly what golf fans expect: brutal conditions, impossible-looking greens and a champion who simply refused to break. Steve and Andy unpack Wyndham Clark's remarkable second US Open victory at Shinnecock Hills, where a six-shot overnight lead almost disappeared before Clark steadied himself to claim another major title. The boys discuss the incredible scrambling display that proved decisive, the mental resilience required to survive the final round, and why one shot on the 16th hole may have changed the entire tournament. The conversation also dives into the unique challenge of Shinnecock itself. From massive fairways to terrifying green complexes and late-afternoon Poa Annua putting surfaces, this was a golf course that punished even the slightest mistake. Elsewhere, the lads discuss:
Plus, a reminder that while putting matters, elite ball striking continues to separate contenders from everyone else. A US Open packed with storylines, controversy, resilience and a timely lesson about what it really takes to win when par is a great score. | Ep. 127 Velocity Toward Better Golf | 18 juin 2026 | 01:22:17
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy kick things off by dissecting New South Wales' disappointing Game Two State of Origin performance. From selection debates to coaching questions, the boys discuss what went wrong after a promising first half and whether the Blues need a major rethink before the decider at Suncorp. Then it's back to golf, where Andy delivers a fascinating round report from Kooindah. Despite a frustrating finish, there are plenty of encouraging signs as months of work begin to show up on the course. Steve also shares valuable insights into performance psychology, including why pressure should be viewed as a privilege and how learning to enjoy uncomfortable moments is a key step toward better golf. Despite a back-nine stumble, there are clear signs that Andy's game velocity is moving in the right direction, with improved ball striking, sharper short game performance and renewed optimism about what's ahead. Plus: an eagle from a drop-kicked putt, a playing partner with questionable timing, and an invitation for the NSW Rugby League to call the boys if they want help motivating the team before Game Three. Key Takeaway "The goal isn't to avoid pressure. The goal is to seek it out, embrace it, and learn to perform when it arrives." Clubs loaded. Golf shoes on. | Ep. 126 What If Your Swing Isn't The Problem? | 10 juin 2026 | 01:11:07
This week Steve and Andy open the show with an overdue discussion about State of Origin before eventually remembering it's a golf podcast. After wrapping up another month of the Missing Links Golf Show Championship — including another dramatic dice-of-truth playoff — the conversation turns to something far more important than scorecards. Andy shares a significant shift in his approach to golf improvement. After months of chasing technical swing changes, he's questioning whether feel, intuition and better decision-making might be the smarter path forward for a busy golfer trying to balance work, family and competition. The discussion dives into:
Steve then opens up about the challenges his family has faced following his son's Type 1 diabetes diagnosis and how it has reshaped his priorities, expectations and relationship with golf. It's an honest conversation about balancing ambition with reality, understanding what matters most, and recognising that every season of life requires a different approach. Plus, stay tuned to the end for another addition to the growing world of Missing Links Golf Rock: "The Missing Links Blues." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 125 There's Life in the Old Pilgrim Yet! | 04 juin 2026 | 01:07:37
After a month away from competition golf, Andy finally returns to the fairways at Kooinda—and the round gets off to anything but a smooth start. A delayed tee time, a stiff back, a snap hook, a spectacular 42-metre shank and even an accidental pirouette threaten to derail the day before it really begins. But instead of ejecting out of the pilot's seat, Andy does what every golfer eventually has to learn: stay in the fight. As the round unfolds, the swing begins to return, birdie chances appear, and a scrappy start turns into a decent round. Along the way, Steve and Andy unpack the value of persistence, the importance of preparation, why stretching might be the most underrated part of golf, and whether a new putter fitting could finally be on the horizon. Plus, another original Golf Rock anthem makes its debut as the pilgrims continue their quest for middle-aged sporting glory. In this episode:

| Ep. 124 Golf, Survival & the Search for Scratch (with Matt Woodbridge) | 26 mai 2026 | 01:25:05 | |
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy are joined in person by fellow pilgrim and yearly championship leader Matt Woodbridge for one of the most honest and fascinating golf conversations the boys have had yet. Matt shares his journey through junior golf in Dubbo, growing up alongside a crop of elite young players, learning the game through creativity rather than coaching, and battling through multiple life-threatening accidents that repeatedly dragged him away from sport — only for golf to pull him back in again. The boys unpack:

| Ep. 123 The Bomber vs The Short Gamer at Aronimink | 19 mai 2026 | 01:05:17 | |
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy dive deep into a fascinating PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club — a venue that has sparked debate about what major championship golf should actually look like. Did the course expose the limits of “bomb and gouge” golf? Or did it finally reward strategy, precision and proper course management? The boys unpack:
And of course, there’s plenty of discussion about unlikely major champion Aaron Rai — the two-gloved grinder whose humility, work ethic and precision golf won over just about everybody watching. Steve and Andy also explore:

| Ep. 122 Playing Golf, Not Golf Swing | 12 mai 2026 | 01:09:08 | |
After the emotional fallout from Duntryleague, Steve and Andy hit reset. This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, the boys unpack a huge question facing every time-poor golfer: Are we spending too much time practicing golf swing… and not enough time actually playing golf? Andy dives deep into the rabbit hole of technical swing changes inspired by Adam Scott, bowed wrists, shallowing moves and YouTube swing theories — before a brutally honest conversation with a former touring pro forces him to rethink everything. Meanwhile, Steve explores the balance between technical practice and actually learning how to score, compete, manage pressure and play the game. The episode covers:
It’s one of the most honest and practical conversations the boys have had about improvement, expectations and finding a sustainable path forward as mid-life golfers chasing better golf. | Ep. 121 Rocked at Duntry, Still Rocking on! | 05 mai 2026 | 01:11:52
The Duntryleague Senior Open didn’t exactly deliver the middle-aged sporting glory Steve and Andy had envisioned. After months of preparation, the boys fronted up… and copped a brutal reminder that tournament golf doesn’t care about expectations. Steve opens with the tale of a nightmare first hole that set the tone for a long 36 holes of grinding, soul-searching and some hard truths about where his game really sits right now. Andy reflects on a ball-striking display that showed real promise — only for the putter to launch a full-scale mutiny. There’s honest discussion about performance under pressure, inflated expectations, whether more tournament golf is the answer, and what happens when the dream of middle-aged sporting glory runs headfirst into reality. But in true Missing Links style, the episode finishes with perspective, resolve… and the debut of what might just be golf’s greatest ever rock anthem. Because one bad tournament doesn’t end the pilgrimage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 120 Middle-Aged Golfers, Peak Confusion | 22 avr. 2026 | 01:09:48
Steve and Andy are back with something rare… their own golf to talk about—and plenty of it. This episode is a deep dive into the messy middle of improvement. The kind where things are clearly getting better… but not quite showing up on the scorecard yet. Steve shares a solid medal round built on consistency (no doubles), better putting, and a breakthrough with the driver—thanks to a simple grip adjustment that changed everything. It’s the clearest “path forward” he’s seen in a while… even if the short game still has other ideas. Andy’s game is trending too, with elite ball striking showing up in patches—including one of the best long iron shots he’s hit in years. But when the pressure dial turned up, so did an old enemy: the snap hook. The result? A round that proves the game is there… just not fully under control yet. There’s also:

| Ep. 119 Winning Is Hard (Even for Rory McIlroy). The 2026 Masters Review | 16 avr. 2026 | 01:10:13 | |
The 2026 Masters is done—and another page of the history books has been written. For years, the question was whether Rory McIlroy would ever win a green jacket. Now? He’s gone back-to-back and forced his way into one of the most exclusive clubs in golf history. Steve and Andy break down what’s changed—not just in Rory’s game, but in his mindset. From a dominant opening 36 holes to a shaky weekend that nearly unraveled, this wasn’t a cruise. It was a grind. And that might be the biggest shift of all. There’s a deeper conversation here: winning majors isn’t about playing perfect golf—it’s about surviving the moments when you don’t. The guys also dive into:

| Ep. 118 Golf's Fine Line Between Form and Frustration | 08 avr. 2026 | 01:05:04 | |
It’s Masters Week, so naturally the conversation starts with big names, predictions… and that quiet feeling that maybe the game isn’t too far away. The boys start with the March Yearly Championship results, a tightly packed leaderboard, and another appearance from the Dice of Truth that raises just enough questions to keep things interesting. But the heart of the episode is Steve’s latest competition round. And it’s one of those rounds that’s hard to pin down. At times, it looks like things are really starting to click. But golf being golf… it doesn’t quite unfold that simply. A few key moments shift momentum, and suddenly the round becomes something else—less about scoring, and more about understanding where the game actually sits. That’s where Andy leans in. Because while Steve can feel the progress, the scorecard tells a slightly different story. And somewhere in between those two things is where the real insight lives. There are still plenty of highlights along the way, including a standout performance from Pilgrim Benny Walker, and a few moments that remind you why we keep coming back to this game. By the end, one thing is clear: The game is moving in the right direction… And that might be the most relatable place in golf. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 117 From ICU to the 18th Green | 31 mars 2026 | 01:16:16
This week is bigger than golf. Steve shares a deeply personal update about his son’s recent health crisis and new diagnosis, how quickly life can flip, and the emotional rollercoaster of navigating hospitals, uncertainty, and a whole new normal. It’s a raw reminder that golf matters — but family matters more. From there, the boys turn back to the fairways. Andy breaks down his competitive round:

| Ep. 116 The Pilgrims Guide to Training Aids | 16 mars 2026 | 01:22:14 | |
This week on The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy kick things off with the February results of the Missing Links Yearly Championship, including a dramatic virtual playoff and another strong month of scoring from the Pilgrims. There’s also an unforgettable story from the world of golf officiating — featuring a hamstring injury sustained while refereeing the NSW Senior Amateur. Proof that golf can still be a dangerous sport! Then the episode dives into a deep discussion on golf training aids. After testing a wide range of gadgets over the years, Steve and Andy break down what they actually use in their practice — and what might not be worth your money. They cover:
If you’ve ever wondered which training aids actually help your game — and which ones are just clever marketing — this episode is packed with insights. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join the fun by entering The Missing Links Yearly Championship to compete with Steve, Andy and other Pilgrims from all across the world. | Ep. 115 Fix the Plane, Fix the Game | 02 mars 2026 | 01:02:18
The boys are back with a full Duntryleague competition debrief — and this one had everything.
Steve takes us inside a rollercoaster Stableford round at Duntryleague in Orange, including one of the best (and one of the worst) shots of his golfing life. But the real breakthrough came afterwards in the High Performance Centre. After struggling with a two-way miss off the tee, video revealed the culprit: One small swing-plane fix later… fairways found and seven consecutive pars. The episode dives into:
There’s promise in the game. Now it’s about making it repeatable. | Ep. 114 Pain Free and Dangerous! | 24 févr. 2026 | 01:07:41
Andy is back. After months of landscaping, wrist pain, and limited golf, Episode 114 marks his return to competitive play — and it delivers. In this episode:
Andy shares how studying concepts from Titleist Performance Institute and applying ideas often seen in players like Justin Thomas has reshaped his swing — particularly around pressure shift and using the lead side properly. The result?
It wasn’t perfect. There were sloppy bogeys. Mental lapses. A few “how did that go 181 metres?” moments. But it feels close. Really close. This episode dives into:
Momentum is building. The swing is holding up under pressure. | Ep. 113 Rockstar Mindset: What Ed Sheeran Taught Us About Golf | 16 févr. 2026 | 00:44:43
This week Pilgrims, we swap scorecards for stadium lights. After both catching Ed Sheeran live in Sydney (70,000 strong… twice), Steve and Andy ask a simple question: What can a global superstar teach two middle-aged golfers chasing sporting glory? Turns out… a lot. In this unexpected but surprisingly powerful episode, we unpack:
Plus… the unbelievable (and apparently true) story of the time Ed accidentally cracked Justin Bieber in the face with a golf club. Yes. That happened. No golf was played this week — but plenty was learned. If you’re serious about improvement, this episode is a reminder: Success isn’t built on the big stage. | Ep. 112 Playoffs, Pressure & A Putting Identity Crisis | 11 févr. 2026 | 01:08:52
January’s Yearly Championship round is done — and it was ruthless. For the first time ever, ties are settled with The Die of Truth, and the virtual playoff delivers nerves, chaos, and the usual champagne podcasting! Then things get weird... Steve tests left-handed vs right-handed putting over nine holes — same greens, same reads, alternating hands. Is it a breakthrough? A mid-life putting crisis? Or the start of carrying two putters in competition? There’s discussion of:

| Ep. 110 Hope Is Not a Strategy | 26 janv. 2026 | 01:02:33 | |
What’s the real difference between a plan and a strategy—and why do so many golfers confuse the two? In this episode, Andy and Steve unpack their 2026 golf blueprints, starting with a big-picture strategy and working down into the day-to-day planning that actually drives improvement. They cover health and fitness, practice structure, short-game priorities, competition schedules, and the realities of juggling golf with work, family, injury, and winter conditions. Along the way, they reflect on what’s worked (and what hasn’t) in previous years, why flexibility matters more than rigid plans, and how defining your playing field changes the decisions you make as a golfer. | Ep. 109 The Dice of Truth & a 14-Hole Tease | 19 janv. 2026 | 01:02:43
The Missing Links Golf Show is back for the 2nd episode of 2026, and it doesn’t take long for controversy to strike. Listener feedback questions the Yearly Championship countback rules, sparking a debate that leads to a bold (and slightly ridiculous) proposal: a virtual playoff decided by the Dice of Truth. The Pilgrims are officially invited to help decide how ties should be settled going forward. Steve then breaks down a tough but encouraging round at Royal Dubbo on a hot afternoon, highlighted by 14 consecutive holes of solid golf. The discussion dives into strokes gained data, why it can be misleading without context, and how one bad swing can distort an entire round’s stats. The boys also explore short-game fear, decision-making versus data, practice tools, speed training, and early goals for 2026—including health, fitness, and competitive plans. As always, the message is clear: progress isn’t always obvious on the scorecard—but it’s happening! | Ep. 108 Bazball, Bogeys & Broken Wrists: Kicking Off 2026 | 09 janv. 2026 | 01:04:09
We’re back for 2026—and somehow we start with the Ashes before finding our way back to golf. The episode opens with a blunt wrap-up of Australia’s 4–1 Ashes win, unpacking why Bazball was exposed in Australian conditions, why patience still wins Test cricket, and which players stood up when it mattered. There’s praise for those who adapted, criticism for those who didn’t, and strong opinions on leadership, accountability, and one-gear game plans. From there, it’s back to golf as we officially close out the 2025 Yearly Championship. A dramatic final month, multiple countbacks, and a razor-thin margin mean the champion is decided—but you’ll have to listen to find out who takes the title. We also recap a post-Christmas round at Kooindah Waters, featuring solid banter, average golf, and one of the wildest tee shots you’ll ever hear about—seriously. Andy provides an honest update on his ongoing wrist issues, how Christmas habits and manual labour caught up with him, and what comes next as he looks to get his body right for the year ahead. The episode wraps with exciting High Performance Centre updates, including new launch monitor tech, simulator golf, and why wedges inside 100 metres are the biggest scoring opportunity heading into 2026. | Ep. 107 Are We Our Own Missing Link? | 16 déc. 2025 | 01:07:56
In this episode, we turn the spotlight inward. We unpack recent guest feedback that challenged Steve’s mindset — specifically the belief that he may not yet see himself succeeding beyond a high single-figure handicap. While confronting, there’s truth in it, and it opens the door to a deeper conversation about self-belief, ceilings we subconsciously set, and why mindset will be a key development focus moving into 2026. Andy then reflects on a recent round where ongoing swing changes were difficult to trust under pressure. We explore why committing to change is often harder than making the change itself, and how doubt can creep in when results don’t immediately show up on the scorecard. Finally, we tackle one of the biggest challenges facing everyday golfers: finding time for meaningful practice in the middle of busy work and life demands. We discuss why “doing more” isn’t the answer, and how clarity, intention, and realistic expectations matter more than hours logged. This episode is about honesty, awareness, and recognising that sometimes the biggest thing holding our golf back… is us. | Ep. 104 The Bathurst Battle & The Freedom Fix | 25 nov. 2025 | 01:16:57
In this episode of The Missing Links Golf Show, Steve and Andy break down two very different competition experiences—each packed with lessons that every golfer can relate to. Steve kicks things off with his experience at The Bathurst Open, a weekend that didn’t go quite to plan on the scoreboard, but revealed plenty of positives. Despite a tough stretch, he stayed competitive, fought through the swings that weren’t quite cooperating, and found real momentum with a significantly improved putting performance in Round 2. It’s a raw conversation about managing expectations, dealing with frustration, and learning to take the wins even on the hard days. Andy then shares a round of his own—one that started shaky before a single mental commitment flipped everything. After grinding through the front nine, he made the choice to swing freely, and the shift unlocked his game. His back nine became a lesson in trust, freedom, and letting go of the tension that quietly sabotages so many golfers. Together, the boys dive into:
