We are very pleased to share with you a special Bonus Episode for Season 5 with the talented Charlotte Tindle, Talent Acquisition queen.
Charlotte is most known her role as part of the Talent Acquisition team at Sony Music!
In her role Charlotte is blessed with the opportunity to able to shape the music industry by recruiting new creative professionals into all areas of a major label from Audience Development to Finance. Charlotte has a wealth of experience within music and speaks through her career journey from her time at BIMM University studying Music Production and freelancing in location and studio recordings after graduating.
Charlotte began working in recruitment for various industries whilst perusing her love of music through an internship in the promotions team at Hospital Records and later landing her role at Sony Music. Proving that non-music experience counts as well!
As a member of Talent Acquisition team, Charlotte has a tonne of advice to share with those beginning their career in the music business. She has also founded social platform Major Mentor to spread valuable knowledge and answer many FAQ's.
For any listeners interested in the Sony Music Internships, that will soon be accepting applications, this episode is full of gems!

Since it's launch in 2019 MPW has taught more than 7000 women in over 120 countries; breaking down the barriers for women in the production space, partnered with global brands and has left Xylo internationally recognised as an entrepreneur and innovator through shesaid. so and being a finalist in the 2022 Australian Business xCellence awards.
In this episode we speak about: the experience of a female producer, barriers to entry, a day in the life for an artist/ entrepreneur/ producer and tackling networking as an introvert.

She began her career in music in Publicity roles, moved to working at Soundcloud and during that time co-founded CO:QUO which was her introduction to Web 3.0 and Blockchain which led to her now spending her time exploring interdisciplinary intersections of technology, society and music through research, facilitation and community organising in her roles at Friends With Benefits and Refraction DAOs, as well as hosting radio shows on Refuge Worldwide and Cashmere Radio.

Tina has also hosted BBC Documentary 'Spitting Fire' which delves into UK club-culture and recently launched RE:SONATE with Tim Garcia; a curation and live events platform.
We also touch on Tina's experience with ADHD and both the struggles it has bought as well as how she's found it to be a superpower.

We also discuss Power Up: a PRS Foundation initiative that champions Black music creators and industry professionals.
Whilst working in the business Ree has also constructed curriculums for the Capital Xtra Music Potential Programme and organised events to highlight up and coming artists and DJs in London at Boxpark.

Charlie is a multi-genre DJ and Broadcaster renowned for being the first female host of the BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass Show but also wears many hats in her role as Label Head at Total Records. She has performed sets at incredible events such as Hospitality, Fabric and Boardmasters. As a Broadcaster Charlie has also worked with some huge names as well as nurture newer talent such as Nia Archives and Ammara.
In this episode we discuss Charlie's journey into the music industry, her day to day and musical philosophy of supporting what she connects with.

KAREN EMANUEL- Moving the Needle, CEO & Founder at Key Production Group

Karen started in the music business booking bands and DJ-ing at Leeds university. In the late 80s, she took a job at Rough Trade Distribution climbing the ladder in a male-dominated sector by asking the right questions and learning the numbers. In 1990, she used her redundancy to start Key Production, which specialises in the design and manufacture of Vinyl CDs, DVDs and cassettes plus bespoke packaging for both music and a growing list of other industries.
Through first organic growth and then a series of acquisitions that added knowledge and expertise to the company, Key Production Group now comprises 56 people at four offices in England and is the leader in its field.
Karen has been the driving force behind Moving the Needle, an initiative focussing on supporting women in the music industry.
She has also built and owns a sustainable Hotel in Nicaragua and mentors as well as speaking at schools and universities.
