Ep. 182: Giving up consistency for flexibility with Chelsie Kliese

mardi 5 mars 2024Duration 01:14:10

On the fourth and final interview in the maternity leave series, Chelsie Kliese, client and friend, finally joins Miranda for a candid peek behind the scenes of how she decided when to quit her full-time job to go full-time in her business, and what her first year full-time in the biz was really like.

Going full-time in your business is an often romanticized notion, but in this conversation, Chelsie shares the good, the bad, the ugly and the unexpected.

In this episode, they discuss:

  • Why tracking AND analyzing your numbers is so critical
  • The “how” behind deciding to go full-time in her business after just a couple of years
  • The sacrifices entrepreneurs and those closest to them make, especially in the beginning
  • Learning to accept that failure and mistakes are part of the process
  • Pivoting when things don’t go as planned

Chelsie Kliese started House of Ivy just over three years ago as an online home decor shop. Shortly after opening, she introduced her handmade concrete goods before pivoting to a fully handmade shop about a year and a half later. She took her business full time in April of 2023 and has been learning so much along the entire adventure of being an entrepreneur! She sells her handmade goods through her online retail shop, through her wholesale program and at in-person events.

Ep. 172: Respecting your time and your customers’

mercredi 4 octobre 2023Duration 45:58

Today, Miranda is getting personal - she opens up about her work experience leading up to starting her business and shares how forgetting this experience can lead her down the compare and despair rabbit hole in entrepreneurship.

She talks about how lack of self-confidence impacts everything in our businesses from our income to our relationships with clients, customers and colleagues.

And she wraps it up with a spicy rant all about owning the roles you create for yourself in your business, letting go of what you don't want, and having enough self-confidence and self-worth to respect your time and theirs.

Journal Prompt 89: Using Email to share something Practical

jeudi 14 octobre 2021Duration 07:35

In this mini-series, I'll be giving you daily journaling prompts a few days a week. You can use these to journal, meditate on or just think about throughout your day.

Today's Topic: This week, our journal prompts are inspired by the 5 P's that Jackie Rodriguez shares with us on her interview about email marketing (ep. 127). The fourth of the five email prompts she shares is: PRACTICAL - not everything you share with your audience has to be some big profound thought or amazing sale. The little things matter to. What's a part of your process that you take for granted? A small hack you commonly use but never thought people would be interested in?

A daily journaling practice is a great way to work through limiting beliefs, acknowledge your feelings and fears, and dream about your future.

Take your marketing to the next level with a few minutes of mindset work each day.
