Kori Hagel | Entrepreneur | Recovering Alcoholic | 9 Years Sober
Frequency: 1 episode/13d. Total Eps: 56

Welcome to The Kori Leigh Show.
I’m Kori — a recovering alcoholic, 9 years sober, a mom, a woman who has walked through addiction, divorce, grief, mental health battles, and the kind of darkness that either takes you out… or forges you.
I know what rock bottom feels like.
I know anxiety that grips your chest.
I know the obsession to escape.
I know what it’s like to burn your own life down and still wake up the next day.
And I also know recovery.
I know surrender.
I know what happens when desperation meets God.
Sobriety didn’t give me a perfect life, but it gave me a real one. One built on faith, spiritual discipline, personal responsibility, and the daily choice to suit up and show up, even when it’s uncomfortable.
This podcast is for the person who’s done pretending.
The ones who knows something has to change.
The ones who is tired of reacting from emotion and wants to start responding from conviction.
Here, we talk about:
-
Recovery and sobriety without romanticizing the pain
-
Faith without performance or bypassing
-
Resilience, boundaries, and self-respect
-
What it actually takes to weather the storm and come out rebuilt
You’ll hear raw conversations, unhinged truths, hard-won lessons, and stories from people who have been to the depths and chose to rise anyway.
God meets us in the mess.
The storm passes.
And who you become in the storm determines everything.
If you’re willing to do the work — welcome.
As we say in recovery:
Find the similarities, not the differences.
That’s how we heal.

18. Co-Creating with Our Goals & God’s Will
lundi 2 septembre 2024 • Duration 41:05
In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I am going to rant on the true meaning of surrendering while actively pursuing our goals. Surrendering is not giving up but learning to live life on life's terms, balancing action with letting go of the outcome. We dive into the importance of discipline, focus, and dedication while being open to God's guidance along the way. Using personal metaphors (which you know I love to use), such as aiming for a 300-pound deadlift and preparing for a Spartan race, we discuss how setbacks can become opportunities for growth and how God's path may reveal unexpected treasures and insights.
This episode emphasizes the need to stay curious and responsive to life, balancing between rigorous action and spiritual surrender.

lundi 26 août 2024 • Duration 51:16
In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I dive deep into the concept of 'Future Self' and explore various perspectives on manifestation, scripting, and the role of visualizing future goals. By sharing my journey from initial beliefs in purely manifesting outcomes to reaching rock bottom through substance abuse and then finding solace in recovery, this episode conveys the importance of surrendering to a higher power while staying active in one's pursuits.
Throughout the episode, I want to emphasize the need for letting go of strict control and trusting in a divine plan, demonstrating how this approach has led to unexpected but profoundly rewarding outcomes in her life.

5. Knowing God’s Will…Navigating Life's Changes Like a Chess Game
Episode 4
lundi 3 juin 2024 • Duration 37:26
In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I open up about my own experiences in business, life, and recovery, highlighting the importance of trusting in God's plan, even when the path ahead isn't clear. I liken the experience to playing a game of chess, where each move comes with its own set of challenges, especially when you're trying to live by faith.
I share the unique ways in which God might reach out to us. It's a reminder that divine communication doesn't always come in the form of grand gestures; more often, it's found in the quiet, mundane moments of our lives. The episode I hope brings you peace to accept the unease that comes with uncertainty about the future and to focus on taking life one step at a time, always seeking and following God's lead.

We talk about the life-altering accidents that left her in a wheelchair, leaning on pain management, and battle with addiction.

1. Your Mess in Your Message - Sharing My Story of God Meeting Me in My Darkest Moments
lundi 6 mai 2024 • Duration 45:38
"When we do our work to heal and to surrender to God's will, God then uses our past to help somebody else."
In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I am starting off sharing my story of the tough parts of growing personally, going through recovery, and how sometimes it's those really dark times that bring us the most important messages about ourselves. I don't hold back when it comes to my struggles with trust and getting close to people, all because of some rough stuff that happened in my childhood. Those experiences really molded how I see God. I'm a big believer in the idea that we should all have the freedom to explore and redefine what faith means to us. I want to get across that your faith isn't something static, but God is; it's this deeply personal journey that keeps changing and growing, just like we do.
Overall, I wanted to share that God came to me in my darkest moment, not because I prayed for help, actually I wanted nothing to do with God, but because there was a moment where He could access me, and He did. He will meet you where you are at too.
