Its tough sometimes to know if a career is a good fit for you based on a job board or school counselor. We attempt to give a more specific and helpful snapshot of a career from those who've been successful at it to help you, the listener, know if it's worth investigating that career further. We spend decades working and the choice of a career is more mystifying that it should be. So join us as we explore the people and the occupations that make the world go 'round.

He's seen a lot of changes in teaching, school safety, leadership, coaching and many other aspects of educating our kids. We talk about what makes a principal successful and how best to change with the roll as you move from teaching to leadership. We discuss soft skills and personality traits that lend themselves to being a successful principal and we even throw a little bass fishing advice into the mix. Dr Karen Kelly - Warfighter Physiologist

Dr. Karen Kelly is a Physiologist for the Navy and her research has two primary areas of focus, warfighter performance and musculoskeletal injury prevention. Her research incorporates the understanding of pathophysiological changes that occur as a result of high training loads and training/operating in extreme environments. Most recently her research has focused on undersea performance, winter warfare and close combat/tactical stress. As you listen, you can quickly tell Dr. Kelly is passionate about helping our fighting forces perform safely and optimally and she knows what she is talking about. I've never regretted my career in the fire service but this one made me wish I could go back and give the Flight nurse career a shot. Her sisters early medical issue and a visit from a flight nurse to her school sparked a flame that still burns strong to this day.
