Not only were the homes and businesses in the town of Jasper, Alberta devastated by last week’s wildfire, but it is also having an impact on the tourism industry unaffected by wildfires. The term "overtourism" has been used quite a bit recently in the travel industry and according to some, it's leading to another term called "tourism-phobia" where locals are blaming tourists for their deteriorating quality of life. And it's causing a rise in social unrest and tourism rejection.
