October felt like a month where the future tried to slip into the present without making too much noise—yet every innovation had a pulse you could feel.
Albania introduced an AI minister who somehow “parents” 83 digital children, while OpenAI backed brainwave-reading tech that edges us closer to machine-human blending without ever touching a scalpel. Samsung and Google nudged AI health coaching further into everyday life, and Oura sprinted through the headlines: aiming for FDA-cleared hypertension detection, gamifying sleep with Vitality Discovery, and then stirring a storm by teaming up with Palantir—hardly the cuddliest data partner.
Bathrooms joined the health-tech party too, with smart toilets officially analysing whatever you leave behind. Aline returned from India with stories of a children’s hospital that designs care like an experience, not a protocol. Mo pushed us to confront the freedom to die in an age obsessed with longevity.
The numbers were mixed: U.S. obesity down again, diabetes still rising. Vicarious trauma quietly spreading. Strava and Airbnb launching runcations. And China declaring that only medically trained voices may talk about health online.
October was odd, inspiring, a bit unsettling—and irresistibly worth listening to. Dive in.

🎙 The Healthusiasm Podcast — Where Health Starts Predicting Itself
In this month’s episode, we look at a world where health no longer waits for symptoms. From AI forecasting diseases like weather, to genetic mapping the moment you’re born, to algorithms that already estimate a drug’s chances of approval before anyone even prescribes it — healthcare is shifting from reactive care to predictive orchestration.
Inside the body, nanorobots and GLP-1 microdosing hint at a future where treatment becomes subtle, continuous, almost invisible. Outside the body, Amazon teaming up with Cleveland Clinic, Novo Nordisk bypassing the old pharma model, and Noom reshaping medication into lifestyle coaching show how major players are racing to control the new health experience layer.
Not all innovation comes from tech giants. Somewhere between coma-detecting AI listening for micro-consciousness, a 14-year-old designing a soap to beat cancer, and scientists proving the strategic power of a nap, a quiet revolution unfolds: health is becoming ambient, embedded, and oddly… personal.
Tune in for an episode that moves fast between the poetic and the clinical, the microdose and the macro shift. Healthusiasm isn’t a trend — it’s what happens when health starts thinking ahead of us.

The Healthusiasm Podcast, hosted again by Nia Escobar-Kölle, welcomed Dr. Elise Dallas, a menopause specialist, to discuss an since-forever-overlooked topic: menopause.
Joined by the beloved panelists Mo Zouina, an expert on human experience, and Dr. Keith Grimes, a medical expert in digital innovation, they covered various aspects of menopause, including symptoms, health risks that women commonly face, generational differences, and the latest innovations and treatments.
One of the most striking insights shared during the episode was that menopause should not be something learned about through personal experience alone. This podcast also provides listeners with a better understanding of menopause—whether for themselves, their friends, or their partners.
PS. You may also discover the link between Renaissance ceramics and menopause while learning the Latin word for brain fog.

🎙️ Welcome to the Healthusiasm Podcast – where the future of health is happening so fast, we can barely keep up! 🚀
Honestly, we're overwhelmed. Completely. Utterly. Overwhelmed. And you will be too. But who is "we" in this episode?
Aline Noizet - Digital Health Connector
Mo Zouina - Human Experience Expert
Christophe Jauquet - Health Business Expert
Back to overwhelming...
Yes, because in this episode, we’re talking about holograms for telemonitoring from anywhere (yes, your cardiologist might soon be beaming into your living room like a Star Wars character). Meanwhile, in China, virtual human doctors are diagnosing patients—because who needs an actual, human doctor when you can get an AI-powered one that never sleeps?
And if that’s not enough to blow your mind, we’re diving into… the penis microbiome. Yes, you heard that right. You’ve got bacteria down there, and they might just be plotting something. Meanwhile, ChatGPT apparently needs therapy, which makes perfect sense because, let’s be real, we’ve all asked it some truly unhinged questions.
But wait, there’s more! We’re seeing the shift from fitness to healthness (because apparently just working out isn’t enough anymore), and exercise is now being prescribed as first-line treatment—which means that the next time you go to the doctor, you might leave with a gym membership instead of a prescription.
Oh, and in case you were wondering how your web browser could save your life—yep, browsers to the rescue for your health are now a thing. Don’t ask me how, just listen.
And finally, because the future wouldn’t be complete without a little biohacking, anti-aging pills for dogs are now a thing. Because your pup deserves eternal youth too.
Welcome to the wild, weird, and wonderfully overwhelming world of Healthusiasm. Buckle up. It’s going to be a ride. 🎢🔥 #Healthusiasm #FutureOfHealth #TechMeetsWellness

Welcome to Episode 35 of the Healthusiasm Podcast with your host, Christophe Jauquet, health business expert and author of the Healthusiasm books. Joining him today are Dr. Keith Grimes, a digital expert in medical innovation, and Mo Zouina, a human experience expert.
Today’s focus: Paediatric care and why there’s not enough innovation or attention given to child health.
The problem: While 24% of the UK population are children, only 11% of the healthcare budget is spent on them. Mental health needs are growing fast, with an 82% rise in eating disorders among children since 2019, and waiting times for care are much longer compared to adults.
The solution: The team explores how we can shift focus to improve paediatric care by increasing funding, innovation in medical technology, and improving parenting skills to support children’s health and well-being. Examples like Denmark’s BørneRiget children's hospital show how we can build better care environments by involving all stakeholders—parents, doctors, and the children themselves.
Let’s dive in to find out how we can better shape the future of children's health!

In this 2nd episode of the 3rd season, the hosts discuss various innovative health trends while having a great laugh and fun with:
Mo's best Tony Robbins impersonation.
The medical urgency when Dr. Keith runs out of ADHD medication.
Dogs & Cats as pen palls.
Foodporn making you healthier
'Poem'cetamol and bath bombs
The worrying demand for sausages
But there was also some seriousness about recent trends and innovations, of course: Mo introduces a "living band-aid" developed at the University of Chicago, which integrates living bacteria and electronic sensors to help heal wounds more effectively. Christophe talks about Sweden's plans to create state-owned pharmaceutical manufacturers to prevent drug shortages, supported by the EU for Health program. Dr. Keith shares a story about the Youth and Pet Survivors program, where children undergoing cancer treatment write letters to pets facing similar conditions to support their emotional well-being. They also discuss Tony Robbins' new luxury wellness and longevity resort chain, highlighting the emergence of medical tourism and its impact on healthcare access and equity.
The episode ends with a discussion about well-being, emphasizing the importance of balance. Christophe refers to Lululemon's recent well-being report, which reveals that increased focus on well-being does not necessarily lead to improved health and often causes stress. The conversation highlights that personal well-being is not solely about constant improvement but also about our aspirations in life: acceptance, prevention, and enjoyment of life. Together, we explore a fundamental question in healthcare today: *Are we too focused on curing and not enough on caring?*

But with the rise of modern medicine, scientific revolutions, and now AI, has the balance shifted too much towards curing diseases while neglecting the human element of care? Join us as we debate whether healthcare is at a tipping point where we need to refocus on care, what this means for medical professionals, and how technology can help reshape the future of healthcare. It's a conversation that will challenge the way we think about health, care, and innovation.

In the latest episode of The Healthusiasm Podcast, the panel dives into the evolving landscape of healthcare innovation and happiness. This episode features an international expert panel, including Aline Noizet, Dr. Aditi U. Joshi, and Dr. Keith Grimes. They share their insights on emerging digital health trends, focusing on realising innovations in healthcare institutions.
As this podcast is recorded at HLTH.Europe, the discussion started the unique advantages of European healthcare events, noting how their manageable scale fosters deeper, more meaningful connections. The conversation shifts to how collaboration between hospitals and startups is not just crucial, but also inspiring in advancing healthcare innovations. The panel highlights the importance of pilot programs, which allow startups to test their solutions in real-world healthcare environments. These pilots are not just about testing technology but about building long-term relationships. The panel emphasises the need for startups to spend time within hospitals, understanding the organisational structure, workflows, and even winning over the skeptics to ensure successful integration.
The experts also discuss how hospitals and accelerators are increasingly working together to bridge the gap between innovation and practical application. This includes learning from pilots, identifying success metrics early on, and ensuring a clear path forward for broader adoption within healthcare systems. The key takeaway is that innovation thrives when both hospitals and startups align their goals and collaborate closely, paving the way for technologies that can genuinely transform patient care.
Wrapping up, the discussion underscores the themes of holistic care and collaboration as central to the future of healthcare innovation. It also shines a light on startups, playing a pivotal role in addressing complex healthcare challenges. AI is speeding up drug discovery, creating new medicines, and even stepping in as coaches, advisors, and companions. But beyond the headlines, the real story lies in how this changes our expectations, our emotions, and even the balance of power in healthcare.
Mo Zouina reflects on the messy in-between moments: when AI makes us expect more than is possible, or diagnoses a disease for which no cure exists. This new zone could put huge pressure on healthcare systems.
Nia talks about the rise of emotional AI — and how, unless machines take over some of this role, the human side of care will remain just as critical. We even joked about redesigning that famous Google mug — the one that said “Don’t confuse your Google search with my medical degree”. Today it might read: “Maybe AI knows… but does it really care?”
Christophe highlights how AI is flipping upside down the millennia-old dynamics of healthcare. For centuries, unequal access to knowledge and solutions defined medicine. The internet challenged that. Now AI could overturn it completely. And Keith pushes it further: in the future, patients may not just access knowledge — they could design their own solutions.
Healthusiasm is about people taking control of their health. With AI, that control may be stretched to the max.

For this episode, the Healthusiasm Podcast invited László Puczkó, an experience engineer and a well-being intelligence expert who has been active in every aspect and domain of the health, well-being and travel spectrum.
Here’s what the panel discussed about:
The popularity of Wellness Travel & Medical Tourism
The looming desire for Human Enhancement
The need for Health Equity
On top of that, the Healthusiasm Panel also talked about:
the Vaginal microbiome-host interactions that can be modeled in a human vagina-on-a-chip
the sensorial quality of Digital Lavender
the body scanner business Neko Health by Spotify founder Daniel Ek
Telemedicine as the preferred channel for prescription refills and minor illnesses
the world’s largest four-day workweek trial
HIV at-home tests in the UK
shopping loyalty cards used for diagnosing women with ovarian cancer and
a debit card provided by healthcare teams to offer people of underprivileged communities with access to better and healthier food
People are taking control of their health — now, and in the future. That’s Healthusiasm. It’s the movement that pushes us to live longer, feel better, and explore bold new frontiers in medicine and technology.
In this episode, we open the door to some of the most surprising breakthroughs shaping that future. What if necrosis — messy cell death once thought to be the end of the line — turned out to be the key to slowing aging, preventing disease, and even helping astronauts survive long journeys in space?
What if your personal health coach wasn’t a human, but an AI that knows your sleep, your DNA, even the weather — and gives you daily advice designed just for you?
And what if artificial intelligence could not only make breast cancer easier to detect, but actually predict your risk years before symptoms appear?
But that’s just the start. We’ll also explore how barbers are stepping into healthcare, why grooves in our brain reveal hidden risks, how Alzheimer’s could be better understood, and how extending human senses — like seeing infrared with a contact lens — might change what it means to be human. And of course, you can expect some sharp, provocative takes from Mo Zouina along the way.
Welcome to Healthusiasm — where short stories meet big ideas, and the future of health begins with one simple question.
