Visual Artist Working Across Painting, Drawing & Sculpture: Devon DeJardin – Guardians, Abundance, & Privacy as the Last Luxury
Wednesday, October 21, 2026 • Duration 01:09:45
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Devon DeJardin, the visual artist working across painting, drawing and sculpture, whose Guardian figures have travelled from a friend’s apartment floor in North Hollywood to private collections and the cover of a number one album. Devon had never picked up a brush. He had a world religion degree, five hundred dollars to his name, a mattress he folded into a laundry closet each morning and a stack of unsold jackets when a stranger in Indiana paid him a hundred dollars for a ten minute phone call to tell him he was meant to paint. Six months later some of the most prominent collectors in Los Angeles were emailing his studio.
The conversation is about what he has built on top of that. Devon makes the case for abundance over gatekeeping, for giving without expectation, and for treating money the way you would treat a current, as something that only works while it is moving. He is sceptical of grinding and precise about why, he keeps studio hours like a day job because discipline is what leaves you ready, and he argues that in a world of total access the doors you choose to keep shut are the last real luxury. Running underneath all of it is the posture he brings to every room he is invited into, which is to assume he is the least knowledgeable person in it and to ask accordingly.

Sporty & Rich Founder & CEO: Emily Oberg – Originality, Nostalgia, & the Real Dream
Sunday, October 18, 2026 • Duration 01:06:00
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Emily Oberg, founder and CEO of Sporty & Rich, who turned a Tumblr mood board into one of the most imitated brands in fashion. Before the store on Place des Lices in Saint Tropez, before Selfridges, Lacoste, Hôtel du Cap and Le Bristol, there were twenty sweatshirts she packed and posted herself. Ten years on, she is clear that the stretch in between is the part nobody films, and that the day during lockdown when a single drop did fifteen times its usual figure only reads as a beginning because the decade in front of it is invisible.
What follows is an unusually plain account of what the work asks of her. She creates selfishly, on the conviction that you have to know what people will like before they know it themselves, and she romanticises the past without apology, from the O.C. campaign to the Carolyn Bessette shoot in Tribeca four years before anyone else arrived there. She is candid about the rest, that running the company is the least glamorous job inside it, that there is no right decision and only decisions and consequences, and that ninety five percent of this is the work while the outcome lasts a day. What she keeps returning to is originality, having an opinion of your own in a culture built on copying, and protecting the reason you started. She still makes everything for her fifteen year old self, and she still believes the Ralph Lauren line that you have to accomplish your dream before you find out what the real one is.

Sotheby’s Chairman, Europe & Principal Auctioneer: Oliver Barker – Collecting, Taste, & the Magic of the Saleroom
Wednesday, October 14, 2026 • Duration 01:00:39
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Oliver Barker, chairman of Sotheby’s Europe and the man on the rostrum for many of the largest sales in the world, to explore what thirty two years at the same house teaches you about objects and the people who love them. Oliver joined as an unpaid intern in 1993 after Christie’s turned him down, and reflects on a career built on one unplanned afternoon, an eye trained by looking rather than reading, and the conviction that the greatest auctions are celebrations of culture rather than transactions.
The conversation gets into how an expert’s eye is actually formed, what it takes to authenticate a work that appears in no book, and why he thinks the auction world has been guilty of elitism when its doors are open to anyone. Oliver is candid about collecting on a salary, and about the trust required when someone hands over a collection fifty years in the making. He explains why lockdown changed the saleroom permanently, what the next decade demands on authenticity, and why he keeps coming back to a line from Damien Hirst about pockets and shrouds. Warm, erudite, and genuinely delighted by the objects he handles, it is a conversation about expertise, taste, and the pleasure of looking properly.

VaynerX Chairman & VeeFriends Founder & CEO: Gary Vaynerchuk – Attention, Compassion, & Pointing Thumbs Instead of Fingers
Sunday, October 11, 2026 • Duration 01:15:56
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Gary Vaynerchuk, chairman of VaynerX and founder and CEO of VeeFriends, to explore what two decades of watching attention move has taught him about people. Gary built a career on seeing platforms before anyone else took them seriously, and reflects on a trajectory defined by conviction, self awareness, and a willingness to say the thing nobody in the room wants to hear, including about himself.
The conversation gets into what he actually feels in rooms full of the one percent, why the loudest critics in someone’s life rarely deserve the authority they are given, and how he tells the difference between encouraging someone and enabling them. Gary is candid about the years he spent holding his own personality back in public and about where he disagrees with almost everyone on what AI will do to work. He argues we have become brilliant at pointing fingers and atrocious at pointing thumbs, and that the only honest place to start is with yourself. Blunt, unusually generous, and completely unbothered by how any of it sounds, it is a conversation about attention, accountability, and the insecurity underneath most of what people chase.

20VC Founder: Harry Stebbings – Media, Venture Capital, & What It Actually Costs to Win
Wednesday, October 7, 2026 • Duration 01:11:03
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Harry Stebbings, founder of 20VC and one of the most prolific investors and podcasters in Europe, to explore what separates the people who say they want it from the people who genuinely cannot do anything else. Harry started a podcast from his bedroom at seventeen with no university and no network, built it into an audience of millions and a fund with around a billion dollars under management, and reflects on a career defined by seeing early that media would become venture capital's real differentiator.
The conversation gets into the specific signals he looks for in founders and why the usual answers about resilience and discipline tell you nothing. Harry is candid about the costs that come with real commitment, from the friends and birthdays missed to the dissatisfaction he thinks founders have to make peace with, and he is clear about where he draws his own line. He makes the case for Europe over the US, explains why he would rather be relevant than rich, and lays out what he believes is coming next with AI. Fast, unguarded, and willing to be challenged on every point, it is a conversation about ambition, honesty, and what you are actually prepared to pay.
Filmed at The Peninsula London.

Bombardier CEO: Éric Martel – Engineering, Craft, & Building the Fastest Aircraft Since Concorde
Sunday, October 4, 2026 • Duration 57:03
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Éric Martel, CEO of Bombardier, at the company's completion centre in Montreal with the Global 8000 behind them, to explore how a snowmobile inventor from a small Quebec town became the foundation of one of the world's great aerospace companies. Éric reflects on a career that began on the factory floor and a company whose defining trait is a willingness to take on things it has never done before, from building metro cars without ever having built a train to inventing the regional jet.
The conversation gets into what actually separates one aircraft from another once you are past the specification sheet, and why the company still gathers the people who built each plane to meet the family taking it home. Éric is candid about the supply constraints no amount of demand can solve, the buyers now arriving in their twenties and skipping straight to the flagship, and what he looks for in the people he hires across engineering, design and everything in between. Warm, precise, and unmistakably proud of where it is all made, it is a conversation about craftsmanship, national identity, and the pursuit of perfection at scale.

ERG Media Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Type 7: Ted Gushue – Craft, Community, & Making Things for the Obsessed
Wednesday, September 30, 2026 • Duration 01:10:39
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Ted Gushue, founder of ERG Media and Editor-in-Chief of Type 7, who publishes hand bound books in the most digital era in history. Having once declared print dead and been proved comprehensively wrong, Ted has built a career around people who care too much about one thing, on the conviction that making something for two thousand obsessives beats selling fifty thousand copies to the indifferent.
The conversation gets into where taste comes from and why the objects people love say more about them than anything they say out loud. Ted is candid about the discipline of looking at your own work honestly, about why he has never taken a cut for an introduction, and about the one quality he has found impossible to teach. Warm, generous, and full of opinions he has actually earned, it is a conversation about craftsmanship, obsession, and building things designed to outlive you.

Guest-Interviews-Host (Special): Alex Ikonn & The Gstaad Guy discuss Love, Success, and What Matters
Sunday, September 27, 2026 • Duration 01:01:12
In a reversal of the usual format, Alex Ikonn, founder of Intelligent Change, turns the microphone on The Gstaad Guy to explore what actually constitutes a life well lived. From repeating a private joke among college friends to a video that circulated by WhatsApp through Gstaad, Monaco, Aspen and New York, The Gstaad Guy traces a path he describes as entrepreneurial rather than creative: not an artist waiting to be heard, but someone watching for the one thing that worked well enough to run behind.
The conversation gets into why he spent two years nurturing the character before leaving Apple, and why he rejects the rhetoric urging young people to quit and chase the dream. He is candid about what he has learned from observing people who have achieved extraordinary success, and how consistently their regrets turn out to be human rather than professional. He makes the case for dating your best friend, argues that legacy is a self-serving word, and explains why he would risk his financial success for his family's unity but never the reverse. Reflective and unusually direct about the cost of ambition, it is a conversation about balance, perspective, and voting with your screen time.
Filmed at The Peninsula London.

Groot Hospitality Founder: David Grutman – Miami, Hospitality, & Why You Should Take It Personal
Wednesday, September 23, 2026 • Duration 50:16
The Gstaad Guy sits down with David Grutman, founder of Groot Hospitality and the man many consider to hold the keys to Miami, to explore what it really takes to build places people never want to leave. From working the door to opening Komodo in a space his own friends called dead on arrival, David reflects on a career defined by reading people, spotting trends before they surface, and the conviction that the real reward is not the money but the look on someone's face after a great night.
The conversation gets into why festive beats formal in a restaurant, what makes someone a great guest, and how he tells the difference between genuine warmth and someone working an angle. David speaks candidly about playing the long game with people who let him down, the investments that failed alongside the ones that worked, and the wife who calls him a broken butterfly for the boundaries that keep him whole. Warm, perceptive, and refreshingly honest about his own ambition, it is a conversation about hospitality, loyalty, and why taking it personal might be the whole point.

Warner Music Group Former CEO & Co-Founder of Waverley Capital: Edgar Bronfman Jr – Conviction, Family Business, & Knowing What You Already Have
Wednesday, September 16, 2026 • Duration 01:06:10
The Gstaad Guy sits down with Edgar Bronfman Jr, former CEO of Warner Music Group, and now co-founder of the venture firm Waverley Capital, to explore what it takes to back your own judgement when almost nobody around you agrees with it. From producing his first film at sixteen to running a family business he eventually sold at the top of the market, Edgar reflects on a career defined by early conviction, an instinct for where value was moving before others saw it, and the belief that it does not matter who got you in the door, only what you do once you are in the room.
The conversation gets into the years of bad press he absorbed while trading a chemicals stake for the entertainment industry, the difference between unanimity in word and unanimity in spirit inside a family, and why the customer is never wrong about what they want. Edgar speaks candidly about the personal cost of the job and what he gave up to do it, the standard he sets for anyone about to get married, and what he would do differently for the family member who never wanted the company to go the way he took it. Measured, unsentimental, and full of stories he tells without embellishment, it is a conversation about judgement, legacy, and recognising value where others miss it.
