In this episode of The Grateful Podcast, I explore the journey of motivation and the inevitable plateaus that come with personal growth. He emphasizes the importance of gratitude and balance in the pursuit of success, arguing that what got you to a certain point may not be enough to take you further. Jack reflects on the cultural obsession with success and the need for self-fulfillment, encouraging listeners to appreciate their current lives while striving for more. The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 39 Guesting Elliot Bewick, host of The Next Generation Podcast
In this episode of the Grateful Podcast, I engage in a thought-provoking conversation with Elliott Bewick, exploring the unique challenges faced by Gen Z in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. They discuss the paradox of living in a time of unprecedented success while grappling with feelings of dissatisfaction and disconnection. The conversation delves into the impact of social media on relationships, the struggle for authenticity in content creation, and the moral complexities of navigating a world filled with instant gratification. Ultimately, they emphasize the importance of gratitude, high standards, and the pursuit of meaningful connections in a society that often prioritizes superficial engagement. Here were my biggest takeaways from the conversation:
Takeaways
We are victims of our own success right now. Things are subjectively bad, but objectively they've never been this good. We're suffering from contending with overabundance. The events that keep on being fed to us don't give us the ability to see these slow burners. You need not just the carrot, but the stick. You can still be your authentic self by putting out amazing polished content. It's difficult to have that historical context. You have to stay curious, stay open and never die on the hill of something. You need to be the type of person that puts the truth over discomfort. You can build upon something you love.

In this enlightening conversation, Rabbi Manis Friedman shares his insights on the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern challenges, particularly focusing on the decline of religious belief among younger generations. He discusses the importance of trust in authority, the complexity of morality, and the dual nature of religion as both a source of guidance and potential toxicity. The dialogue emphasizes the need for purpose in life and the role of compassion while also addressing the misconceptions surrounding atheism and the nature of human goodness. Rabbi Friedman encourages a return to fundamental truths that have stood the test of time, advocating for a life of service and understanding.
I must address the fact that I do not wholeheartedly agree with everything Rabbi Friedman said, and I am not a member of the Jewish faith. However, I believe that it is important for everyone to try to understand where others are coming from, and this conversation helped me do that. I am, personally, an atheist-leaning agnostic open to spiritual interpretation.
Here is what I took away from today's conversation:
Ancient wisdom is tested and not an experiment. The decline of religious belief is linked to a rejection of the old. Anxiety stems from uncertainty about life and purpose. Atheism often arises from fear of being wrong. Morality cannot be invented; it must be recognized. Religion can be toxic when it replaces true authority. Humility is essential in leadership and spirituality. Compassion must align with justice and truth. Life is not about fulfilling personal needs but serving a greater purpose. The future of humanity lies in recognizing our need to serve rather than being needy.

In this episode, I discuss the critical importance of rest and how it impacts productivity and health. He reflects on his recent illness, emphasizing the need to prioritize rest and the cultural misconceptions surrounding productivity. Jack also explores the difference between understanding concepts intellectually and embodying them through action, highlighting that true growth comes from applying knowledge rather than just knowing it. He concludes with a reminder to stay grateful, regardless of external circumstances.
Takeaways
You need to prioritize rest for recovery. Rest is an investment in future productivity. Procrastinating rest can lead to worse outcomes. Cultural perceptions often glorify overworking. Finding balance is essential for personal growth. Trial and error helps in understanding optimal actions. Intellectual understanding is different from practical application. Knowledge alone does not lead to change; action is necessary. Gratitude can transform your perspective on challenges. Your identity is separate from your circumstances.

The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 54 Guesting John R. Miles
I had the pleasure of speaking with John R. Miles, host of the top 0.01% podcast Passion Struck and author of the #1 bestselling book of the same name. John's story is fascinating and I was so interested in interviewing him because many of his ideas are counter to what we are conditioned to believe. John, also a former U.S. Navy officer, was an executive at Intel, one of the largest companies in the United States at the time; he was as materially successful as he could be, and yet he still wasn't satisfied.
In this episode, I got curious with John about what led him to become "passion struck" and pivot to retaking control of his life, optimizing for fulfillment over external success and validation. We talked about the negative consequences of ambition and how they can be balanced with gratitude, and why we need to focus on changing one thing at a time for maximum effectiveness.
This was one of the best conversations I've ever had. I can't wait to hear your feedback on it.
Here were some of my big takeaways: Everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and significant. You have to pick the mission that you want to take on. Life is finite and it's a hell of a lot longer than you think. You have to be really intentional about doing the work. The most incredible person you'll ever meet is you. You have to cultivate the friendships you want. Gratitude is a very reinforcing practice. You have time to pivot. You have to figure out what it is you're supposed to do. You can't do everything you want.

Everything that you love, really love, is in scarcity. Make it the same with your passion.
In this episode of the Grateful Podcast, I discuss the balance between pursuing ambitions and living in the moment. Thank you so much to everyone who watches my videos, it means the world to me! When I make something that ultimately resonates with me, that’s the most important thing, but when it can also resonate with others, it just makes it all that much better. Thank you all and I send my love!
In this solo episode, I explore the fascinating idea that the reality we accept as absolute truth may, in fact, be built on nothing more than widely agreed-upon illusions. Using Isaac Newton’s discovery of the laws of physics as a case study, I dive into how curiosity shapes human progress and dictates the foundations of our shared reality. What if Newton was wrong? Would we even know? And what does that mean for the way we experience life?
I also discuss the duality of gratitude and ambition—how we balance appreciation for the present with the drive to create a better future. Plus, I break down the difference between push vs. pull success and how understanding this can change the way you approach your goals.
🔹 Topics Covered in This Episode:
• How curiosity shapes reality and why truth might not be as “absolute” as we think
• The power of foundational beliefs in human progress
• The paradox of gratitude and ambition
• Push vs. pull success: which one leads to a more fulfilling life?

Nick Pollard on Breaking FREE From People Pleasing The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 30
In this episode of the Grateful Podcast, host Jack Wagoner engages in a deep conversation with Nick Pollard, a coach and speaker known as the People Displeaser. They explore the pervasive issue of people-pleasing, its roots in the desire for acceptance, and how social media exacerbates this behavior. Nick shares his personal journey of overcoming people-pleasing tendencies and emphasizes the importance of setting boundaries and living authentically. The discussion also touches on the paradox of seeking approval from others while neglecting one's own needs, the significance of imperfection, and the role of honesty in relationships. Ultimately, the episode encourages listeners to embrace their true selves and make decisions that prioritize their own happiness.
This was a truly amazing conversation for me as my entire family battles with the people-pleasing "addiction," as Nick calls it. I have spent most of my conscious life either falling hopelessly victim to this state or trying to break free from it. Nick is incredibly knowledgable, as evidenced by his words in this conversation. I learned so much, here were my big takeaways:
People-pleasing is rooted in the desire for acceptance. Social media amplifies feelings of inadequacy and comparison. Overcoming people-pleasing requires consistent effort and self-discovery. Setting boundaries is crucial for personal well-being. A Bill of Rights can help individuals assert their needs. People-pleasing is a lifelong journey, not a one-time fix. Authenticity attracts genuine relationships. Feelings are impermanent; decisions can have lasting consequences. Honesty and kindness are intertwined in relationships. Embracing imperfection leads to deeper connections.

Watch on YouTube: Paving Your Own Path— How Bunkt Became an Artist at 43 The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 29
Bunkt_ has made art the focal point of his life; he found it at 43, he says, but that just proves that it is never too late to give up on yourself and pursue your dreams.
In this episode, Jack interviews his dad, Bunkt, an artist who found his passion and purpose at age 43. They dive into his creative process, how he initially emulated Basquiat before developing his own style, and the impact of daily creative work on his fulfillment. Bunkt shares insights on consistency, personal time, and the long-term rewards of pursuing what you love. They explore the question: Is your creative pursuit the key to a more fulfilled life?
Personally, this was one of my favorite conversations I have ever had. It was admittedly a little weird at first to speak with my dad in front of cameras: we talk all the time, but the changed environment was a bit off-putting. However, by the end, we were very comfortable, and I loved how the conversation turned out. I am so proud of my dad for going after what he loves in life. Seeing him pursue art as his full-time thing inspires me to settle for nothing less than my dreams. I know that anything is possible in life, and I owe that a lot to my dad.
I have the best dad I could ever ask for; I am so grateful.
I hope you enjoy the conversation.

How Being PSYCHED Will Transform Your Life With Nathan Bigelow The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 25
Nathan Bigelow is a 18-year-old high school senior from Dover, New Hampshire. He excels in every area of his life— a top student, a number one varsity tennis player, an avid rock climber and coach, and an overall smart young man. More importantly, Nathan Bigelow has been my best friend for the last 14 years. We don't touch on it in the episode, but everyone deserves this type of friendship— having a friend who is totally invested in your life just as you are in theirs makes life more fun and valuable.
This is truly one of my favorite conversations I’ve ever had. We dive into everything from how you can live your life with more psych and excitement, to the power of abstaining from social media as a teenager. I think you’ll love it.
We started off the conversation by talking about how you can foster more psych in your life. Psych is the contagious energy that some people have when they are just infatuated by the excitement of life. Nathan is great at staying present in the moment and generating excitement for just about anything, including the things others would dread. This shows in his discipline— waking up at 5 AM before school to run and work out.
This leads us to start talking about early risers and late to bedders. We dive into our own schedules and how some of us tend naturally toward one thing, but would rather force ourselves to do another.
We then go into social media, my favorite topic of this podcast. Nathan has never had social media. As a seventeen-year-old, this is extremely rare. We explore the benefits this has on his life and how his creativity is unlocked by the lack of comparison he has to the top “0.01%”.
We ask the question: is social media a drug? We explore the addiction that so many of our peers have and how detrimental it is to our generation.
We then denounce nihilism. Nathan believes that each and every moment could open a door to a better life. Life is a gift— although we may never dent the universe as a whole, we can make an impact on the small circle of people around us. That is enough.
The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 53 Guesting Jason Smith
In this enlightening conversation, I had the pleasure of interviewing Jason Smith, a fellow podcaster and coach, about the journey of self-discovery and personal growth. We explored the challenges of navigating social media, the importance of self-awareness, and the power of journaling. Jason shares insights on overcoming limiting beliefs, the significance of asking for help, and the balance between gratitude and ambition. We discussed the fear of success, the role of community in personal development, and the continuous journey of improvement. The conversation culminates in the concept of 'the power of the pivot' and the ripple effect of personal growth on others.
Takeaways: Self-awareness is crucial for personal growth. Navigating social media can be draining; balance is key. Journaling helps clarify thoughts and emotions. Limiting beliefs can hinder potential; awareness is the first step. Asking for help is essential for growth. Gratitude and ambition can coexist in a fulfilling life. Fear of success can prevent individuals from embracing change. Community support is vital in personal development. Continuous improvement is a lifelong journey. The power of the pivot allows for new opportunities and growth.

Life Flies— Why Appreciating Your Progress Fuels Growth The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 24
In this solo episode, I explore a lesson life keeps trying to teach me: the importance of slowing down and truly appreciating our progress. For many of us chasing success, it’s easy to rush past our wins and immediately focus on the next goal. But what happens when we don’t let our victories sink in?
I share my personal struggle with celebrating success and reflect on my best semester yet as a high school senior—balancing school, running a business, and applying to colleges. Through these experiences, I’ve realized that rewarding ourselves for hard work isn’t just nice—it’s necessary. Positive reinforcement is proven to build habits, and taking time to acknowledge our wins fuels future growth.
This episode also dives into the role of challenging ourselves and how confirmation bias can stunt our growth. I discuss my own journey of studying in France and how stepping outside my comfort zone has made me a better student and person. If you’ve ever felt like you’re moving too fast to enjoy life, this episode will remind you to pause, reflect, and celebrate every step of the way.
If this episode resonates with you, share it with a friend who needs a reminder to slow down and celebrate their wins. Don’t forget to leave a review and subscribe for more episodes on living with intention and chasing your dreams.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
• Why it’s hard for high achievers to celebrate their progress.
• How rewarding yourself for hard work can boost productivity and build habits.
• Simple ways to slow down and reflect after a success.
• How confirmation bias stunts growth—and how to challenge yourself to keep evolving.
• Personal stories about balancing school, business, and big dreams.
Key Takeaways:
1. Life moves fast, but success is sweeter when you pause to let it marinate.
2. Positive reinforcement isn’t just nice; it’s a psychological necessity for habit-building.
3. Growth happens when we step outside our comfort zone and challenge our assumptions.

Albert Einstein once said creativity is “intelligence having fun,” but what if it’s more than that? What if creativity is the core trait that defines us as humans? In this episode of The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner, we explore how creativity has shaped history, drives innovation, and could hold the key to our collective future.
Creativity isn’t just about painting or making music—it’s about solving problems, innovating, and driving progress. From the fire-starting hunter-gatherers to the Sumerians’ groundbreaking agricultural canals, humanity’s greatest advancements have been rooted in creative thinking. What’s fascinating is that creativity compounds. As new ideas emerge, the foundation for even greater innovation is laid.
But here’s the question: why doesn’t the American education system prioritize creativity in the same way it does math or science? Why are art and music classes treated as secondary when they’re the very essence of what makes us human? In this episode, I dive into the roots of this imbalance and challenge the stereotypes of “creative people” vs. “math people.”
We’ll also discuss the double-edged sword of creativity: the endless flow of ideas can be a gift—but also a curse, making it hard to stay focused or committed to one vision. Drawing insights from Ray Dalio’s Principles, we uncover how resilience can help creative minds thrive, turning dreams into reality despite the struggles along the way.
Whether you’re a budding artist, an innovator, or someone simply curious about the human mind, this episode is packed with thought-provoking insights that will inspire you to embrace your creativity fully.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode: •How creativity built civilizations and shapes innovation today. •The reasons behind America’s flawed approach to creative education. •Why creativity and resilience go hand-in-hand. •Practical tips to channel your creative energy effectively.

What does it truly take to pursue your passion and turn it into your life’s work? In this episode of The Grateful Podcast, I sit down with the talented singer-songwriter Harrison Goodell, who’s boldly chasing his dream in the music industry. Harrison shares how he made the decision to go all in on his creative career, without relying on a backup plan—a risk that many shy away from but one he believes is necessary to succeed.
We cover topics like:
•Why having a backup plan can be the riskiest decision of all. Harrison’s take on this will challenge the way you think about playing it “safe.”
•The courage required to follow an unconventional path. Harrison dives into the mental and emotional battles of going against the grain.
•The joy and purpose music brings to his life. From creating art to connecting with audiences, Harrison reveals why doing what you love is worth every challenge.
Harrison’s insights are not only inspiring but also practical for anyone who’s standing at a crossroads in life, wondering if they should take a leap of faith. His story is a testament to what’s possible when you bet on yourself and your dreams.

The Three Simple and Effective Steps to Chase your dreams and create your ultimate reality.
If you’re young and full of ambition, this episode is for you! I share my 3-step blueprint to achieving your biggest dreams during the crucial years of 18-25. Learn how to IMAGINE your dream life, CREATE actionable steps, and ADAPT to challenges along the way.
These three steps have been absolutely transformative in my own life. At 17, I was a high school senior with big dreams but no real roadmap to achieving them. I started small—imagining the kind of life I wanted to live, one that felt meaningful and exciting. I wanted to connect with others, explore the world, and build something impactful. This vision led me to start a tutoring business, FrenchFix, travel to France where I created lifelong connections, and even launch a podcast where I share the stories and strategies that inspire me.
The blueprint works because it’s flexible and personal. The creation phase helped me break my big dreams into small, actionable steps, like designing my first flyer for FrenchFix or setting aside time every day to write and plan content. And adapting? That’s where growth really happens—like when my YouTube videos didn’t take off immediately, so I shifted my focus, learned from feedback, and built an audience around topics that truly resonate.
This episode is not just about inspiration; it’s about giving you a framework to take control of your future. The ages of 18-25 are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build the foundation for a life that you love. Whether you’re unsure about what’s next or you’re already dreaming big, these steps will help you turn ambition into action and action into achievement.
💡 Don’t waste these transformative years—start building the life you deserve today. This episode will give you the tools and confidence to begin your journey.

Today I have the privilege of releasing the first episode of The Grateful Podcast with a guest!
This special guest is my mom, Annie Wagoner.
Annie is one of the most amazing people I've ever met (I know I'm a bit biased but it's true). She walks into a room, and immediately, people start to smile. Her energy is contagious, and her love is admirable.
My mom created her business (Corenourishment) amidst the most stressful period of her life, and she wouldn't have done anything differently. Sometimes chaos births direction.
If you want to find your passion in life, learn how to feel joy, or just hear an amazing person speak about life, then listen here.
I am truly grateful to have my mom on The Grateful Podcast.
The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner explores life’s challenges and joys, offering insights on personal growth, mental health, and cultivating gratitude. Through heartfelt stories and actionable advice, Jack inspires listeners to lead fulfilling and peaceful lives while embracing the power of kindness and self-reflection.

Are you trapped in miserable righteousness and chasing empty success?
The more I learn about humans, the more I realize just how egotistical we’re wired to be. I don’t mean that as an insult — ego clearly has some evolutionary perks — but if you want to succeed in life (especially in situations you didn’t perfectly plan for), you’ve got to break free from that automatic, self-justifying loop.
In this episode of the Grateful Podcast, I explore the concept of 'miserable righteousness'—the tendency to cling to preconceived notions and judgments that lead to unnecessary suffering. I share personal anecdotes and insights on how ego can trap us in misery and prevent us from fully engaging in experiences. I emphasize the importance of maintaining an open mind, extracting value from every situation, and cultivating a gratitude mindset to enhance personal growth and fulfillment.
Takeaways: Many people fail before they even start due to preconceived notions. Ego can trap us in a cycle of misery and self-justification. Being right often comes at the cost of our happiness. We can choose to learn from every experience, even the unpleasant ones. Saying no to things that don't align with us allows us to say yes to what truly matters. Our mindset can significantly affect our experiences and outcomes. Extracting value from experiences can lead to personal growth. Gratitude can transform our perspective on challenging situations. We have the power to change our narrative and feel better about our circumstances. Living with a growth mindset leads to a more fulfilling life.

Today I go over my previous week and things that I learned from it. Not the easiest but definitely will set me up to handle things better in the future.
I have learned a lot over the past bit of time and I am excited to share it here. We are always learning as time passes and I think I really summed up some amazing points here, or at least points that have greatly impacted my life.
Today, in episode 12, I try to answer a question that I had about the relationship between being healthy (turns into exercise) and happiness. I have seen contradictory data on the cause-and-effect relationship of the two and so this was my attempt at answering the question with you guys.

Presence. This is something that is so often talked about but I always hear something different. I believe presence is simple and it is one thing that nobody can ever take away from you.
In this episode I talk about how I have gone through my journey to feeling more present and give examples from books and spiritual leaders on presence as well. This one is not as science focused as it is really hard to genuinely measure presence. However, one thing I forgot to mention is that the worlds happiest man (measured brain activity) is a monk who is constantly focusing on his presence.
PRESENCE IS HUGE.

The Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Episode 51 Guesting Sherianna Boyle
In this episode of The Grateful Podcast, host Jack Wagoner speaks with Sherrianna Boyle, an expert in emotional detox coaching. They explore the concept of emotional detox, its importance in processing emotions, and how it can lead to personal growth and a higher state of consciousness. Sherrianna shares her unique Cleanse method for emotional processing and discusses the societal fears surrounding emotions. The conversation also touches on the connection between emotional processing and manifestation, emphasizing the collective aspect of personal growth.
Takeaways: All emotions are good as long as they're processed. Emotional detox is about getting rid of reactions, not emotions. Processing emotions can lead to a sense of safety and calmness. Anxiety is an emotion looking to be processed. Feeling is essential for personal growth and evolution. Manifestation should focus on the collective, not just the individual. The Cleanse method provides a structured approach to emotional processing. Emotions are contagious and impact our collective experience. Daily emotional processing can lead to a more peaceful life. We are all connected and share energy, which affects our emotional states.

In today's episode Jack talks about the relationship between joy and accomplishing goals in life. Purpose is a big concept today.
When you chase your purpose and every action has a reason, you find joy.
When you eat a snickers bar or play video games for 2 hours you might be feeling good in the moment, these are pleasures. That, is not happiness. Don’t chase it.

In episode 3 of the Grateful Podcast with Jack Wagoner Jack goes into depth about the importance of becoming comfortable alone with yourself and your thoughts.
There were many studies mentioned in the episode today and the links will be available down below. I am going to release my notes for this podcast down below as well in which you will be able to see everything that I prepared for my episode as a way of holding me accountable and helping me get my true message across.
There are so many instances where people just can't help but filling their time up but I am here to tell you that you should leave that time open in order to gain clarity and be happier, healthier, and be more GRATEFUL.
Do you know what ideas are actually yours?
Ok, welcome back to the Grateful podcast, as always I’m extremely grateful to be here recording, and working towards my dreams of making the world a happier, more grateful community. Today I’d like to start a tradition of starting each podcast with something I’m grateful for and this morning I am feeling really grateful for
Today’s episode is going to be focusing on connecting to your inner dialogue, and genuinely understanding who you are. I believe that this is extremely important, actually I don’t know if I can explain in words how important I believe this is, especially with the amount of media and exterior input us humans receive daily. The quantity is insane.
I was looking at this article by exploding topics, they track stats of just about anything with really accurate data, and saw that updated studies show that the average person in general spends 6 hours and 58 minutes per day staring at a screen. The average Gen Z kid, my generation, we spend an average of 9 HOURS on a screen per day. That is just crazy.
With all of this time preoccupied, doing something else, playing video games, scrolling on social media, how much time to we actually have to ourselves. I would like you to notice every time something stops during your day. Every slow moment, every time you are in a room with people you don’t know, or have a quick break. What do you do? If you are like most people you will pull out your phone. I do this too honestly pretty often, and it’s something I have really been trying to notice and work on. What these actions say to me is that I am not comfortable by myself, just with me, which is in my case not true so I should let myself be, without filling in all the gaps.
I want to start off by talking about a 2014 study published in the science magazine where Timothy Wilson, a social psychologist at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville brought in hundreds of volunteers to a study where the volunteers would be given “think periods” ranging from 6 to 15 minutes. They were told to put away their belongings, most notably their cellphone, and were left alone with their thoughts for the time period assigned. Afterwards the participants had to rate the experience and over 50% said they did not enjoy it. The team of researchers took the experience a little further and added in a button in which the participant could shock themselves to get out of the experience. Beforehand every single participant said that they would have to be paid money in order to inflict a shock upon themselves, and yet 67% of men and 25% of women pushed that button. That is insane. People really cannot be alone with THEMSELVES for 15 minutes, that’s how u
