Leave It To The Pros

vendredi 16 mai 2025Duration 01:13:17

Kelly and Joe sit down and discuss the difference between a professional gamer, and a casual. The answer is a LOT of money. Plus, they quiz each other on their "expertise", and you get to pick up what you missed since you've been gone.

John Yan Spoils It All

mercredi 30 avril 2025Duration 01:22:14

On this episode, Kelly and Joe talk with Gaming Nexus founder John Yan, who has been with us since 1997, and has been a fan of spoilers since before the Leonardo DiCaprio version of Romeo and Juliet. We discuss why spoilers and leaks exist, and what you should do to avoid them, if you so choose.

Where have we been? Where are we going?

jeudi 28 octobre 2021Duration 02:13

Where have we been? Well we’ve been on a little bit of an unscheduled break that became more than that. We’re still going to be gone for a few more weeks, but we will return! And with our return comes a new and hopefully improved version of our show. Look for the new style on November 11. Thanks for sticking by, just a few more weeks.

The Gaming Nexus Show was live from GDEX

Episode 20

mercredi 6 octobre 2021Duration 54:57

We did something a little special last week. The four of us had the opportunity to speak at a panel at GDEX? Not sure what GDEX is? Well it’s a, “convention dedicated to a love of games and creative technology, located in Columbus, Ohio.  GDEX features a weekend expo showcase, combined with presentation sessions, artist alleys, raffles, tournaments, and Charity events. The GDEX expo is a curated showcase of some of the most exciting up and coming developers so that you can see the latest games before anyone else!” We decided to record our panel as well and the results were better than I expected. The audio quality isn’t as great as our normal episodes, but still very listenable. Elliot and Eric bring two separate games with very similar rules. Joe shows us his improv chops to hilarious results, and Max does research for something he didn’t need to, but decides to share his findings anyway.

Joseph also decided to stream the panel, and you can choose to watch it instead of just listening.

Netflix top 10, and reviews, reviews, reviews

Episode 19

jeudi 30 septembre 2021Duration 01:06:28

Netflix has been very shy about just how many people watch their shows and movies. That changed this week when they gave us not only the top ten most watched movies and shows, but how many hours each one has been viewed as well. Max and Eric try to guess which shows make the list without much success. We also discuss how Twitch is trying to handle curbing the hate raids. And then everyone takes a turn reviewing a recently played game or two.

We hope you enjoy listening to us weekly, and if you do help us out and tell someone about The Gaming Nexus Show. We also have other projects you can get into as well! Like catching Joe’s Twitch, look for Max’s game Ocean’s Heart, go to Eric’s YouTube channel, and listen to Elliot’s other podcast. And of course you can visit the place where it all started, gamingnexus.com.

Diablo 2, rumor mills, and the best indie titles

Episode 18

jeudi 23 septembre 2021Duration 01:12:09

Did you know the Emmys took place last week? We talk about how basic cable hosted a show devoted to awarding online streaming shows and movies, and no one is surprised. Eric brings up the topic of Diablo 2 and if it’s ok to support a game that has ties to Blizzard. Joseph gets upset about rumors, even when they’re not about him. Elliot hates on old people just because they’re old. And Max brings up Catan World Explorers, a game that was in development which is now going away before being completely finished. We round out the episode with some listener questions.

Enjoy listening to us weekly? Help us out and tell someone about The Gaming Nexus Show. We also have other projects you can get into as well! Like catching Joe’s Twitch, look for Max’s game, go to Eric’s YouTube channel, and listen to Elliot’s other podcast. And of course you can visit the place where it all started, gamingnexus.com.

Switch Bluetooth, Epic vs Apple, the Artful Escape

Episode 17

jeudi 16 septembre 2021Duration 01:06:08

Is it too late for Nintendo to add Bluetooth to the Switch? Does anyone care? Have you heard about this whole Epic vs Apple but find it confusing? Elliot tries to explain it to the best of his knowledge to the other three, with some mixed results. Joseph bails on the pod halfway through the episode, and Elliot is bullied into leaving it unedited, to hilarious results. Eric and Joseph talk about the Artful Escape and why everyone should play it. Max forgets what day of the week it is and brings nothing, absolutely nothing to the table.

Like the show? Help us out and tell someone about the show, our listens all come from word of mouth, we don’t advertise the show. We also have other projects you can get into as well! Like catching Joe’s Twitch, look for Max’s game Ocean's Heart, go to Eric’s YouTube channel, and listen to Elliot’s other podcast.

Life is Strange, Smash Bros. tourneys, Bus Simulator, Meta Knight

Episode 16

jeudi 9 septembre 2021Duration 01:11:00

We are back to our typical four man roster of Joseph, Max, Eric and Elliot. Joe brings up Nintendo and their unwillingness to let people play the games they want, the way they want to play them, sparking discussions about a number of different things. Eric gives a review for Life is Strange: True Colors which releases on September 10. Max didn’t do his homework this week and scrambles to give us the lore of the Kirby character Meta Knight. And because Elliot wanted to feel important we let him talk about Bus Simulator, and how it surprised him.

You can listen to the podcast on iTunes, Spotify, or Google Podcasts. You can also find the show on Youtube. Want even more content by these four guys? Try Joseph's Twitch page, or the video game Max developed, Ocean’s Heart. Eric has a YouTube or Elliot’s other podcast.

China’s gaming restrictions, Summer of ‘58, and Far cry 6

Episode 15

jeudi 2 septembre 2021Duration 01:19:05

We’re moving our recording days from Tuesday nights to Wednesday nights. What else are we changing? Well for one, Max and Eric both bring a bit of news with them this week. No Joseph this week, so nothing gets too hot and bothered. Max talks about Steam’s refund policy for games, and potential fixes to it. Eric puts Kotaku on blast, after Kotaku puts Eric on blast earlier in the day.

Want even more content by these four guys? Try Joseph's Twitch page, or the video game Max developed, Ocean’s Heart. Eric has a YouTube or Elliot’s other podcast.

Gamescom, Roblox, and Pokemon

Episode 14

mercredi 25 août 2021Duration 53:24

This week on the podcast we discuss how Battlefield 2042 isn’t out yet for a few months but cheats like aimbot and radar are already out. Elliot attempts to bring up Pokemon, to the dismay of the other three hosts. We talk about Gamescom, and how Xbox Game Pass continues to be the best deal in gaming. Eric tries to cheat in Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Max does his research on Roblox, or is it Robux?
