SPOTLIGHT | Discover the Feldenkrais Method - Awareness Through Movement Guided Practice with Nick Strauss-Klein31 Oct 202400:21:54

Experience the Feldenkrais Method directly in this Spotlight episode, and learn how this somatics practice can help you move through life with greater efficiency, enhance your thinking and problem solving abilities and support emotional regulation. Teacher Nick Strauss-Klein is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and founder of The Feldenkrais Project, a crowd-funded labor of love offering Feldenkrais study at no charge to thousands of monthly listeners all around the world.

This short Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® lesson is intended to leave you experiencing the differences you'll create between the two sides of your body, which is a curious and powerful learning state that can improve both sides as your brain processes the changes. You can repeat the recording for the other side later if you wish, but it's not necessary!

Practice Guidelines: You'll need a carpeted floor or mat to lie on. The lesson begins and ends in supine, but most of it is explored in side-lying. You can pause the recording and roll to your back to rest any time. If necessary for comfort the lesson can be done in bed, but a firmer surface is better for being able to feel your body move in great detail. Once you’re lying on your chosen side you’re invited to rest your head on your arm or on a folded towel. A small firm pillow works too. It’s great to change your head support if you feel you need to as the lesson progresses.

Before you begin, please read these guidelines for other practical tips, and your responsibilities as a Feldenkrais student.

The Art of Yoga Nidra - How to Access Your Physical & Subtle Bodies for Insight & Joy with Anne Douglas24 Oct 202400:56:21

Discover the transformative power of Yoga Nidra with Anne Douglas, a trailblazer of this deeply restorative practice long before it was recently popularized through scientific research on non-sleep deep rest (NSDR). Anne has been practicing yoga and meditation for over three decades and teaching since 1989, having studied many hatha yoga approaches as well as Yogic and Buddhist Philosophy. Learn how the strategic guidance in this "sleep meditation" practice acts as a therapeutic tool for stress, anxiety and trauma by guiding individuals into deeply restorative brainwave states, helping to build vital energy and prana by skilfully directing our attention inward. Anne explores the five koshas (yogic energy sheaths or subtle bodies) from the gross physical to the more subtle realms of breath, energy and consciousness. We discuss how engaging these layers through Yoga Nidra enhances sensitivity and awareness, providing a roadmap for emotional balance and personal growth. Anne also examines the philosophical underpinnings of non-duality and how Yoga Nidra practice can guide us to directly realize our true essence on the path to enlightenment. Additionally, we consider the intriguing connections between Yoga Nidra and astral projection practices, and how to contextualize intention (sankalpa) in a Yoga Nidra meditation. Anne's sensitivity and compassion create a strong, safe container to nurture one’s ground of well-being. This episode invites you to embrace the stillness and quietude that Yoga Nidra can bring to your daily life, offering a window into the transformative potential of this ancient practice.

Anne Douglas is certified senior level yoga instructor (Kripalu RYT 500 and YAA 1000), C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Yoga Nidra & Meditation Trainer and Retreat Leader. She offers advanced level studies for several yoga and meditation schools alongside private sessions, workshops and retreats.

Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming on Qigong, Energy Cultivation & the Bioelectric Body: Taoist Wisdom Meets Modern Science

Can cultivating Qi transform your mind, body, and consciousness?

In this illuminating conversation, we’re joined by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming - a world-renowned martial artist, scholar, and teacher of Qigong, Taijiquan (Tai Chi), and Taoist philosophy. With over 35 books published and a PhD in mechanical engineering, Dr. Yang brings rare clarity to the intersection of ancient Chinese energetics and Western science.

  • How internal energy work awakens perception and vitality
  • Taoist principles like Wu Wei and energetic stillness

The Implications of Global Consciousness: Measuring the Collective Mind with Dr. Roger Nelson15 Feb 202400:59:38

Can our collective thoughts and emotions influence reality?

In this thought-provoking episode, we speak with Dr. Roger Nelson, founder of the Global Consciousness Project (GCP), whose research uses a worldwide network of random number generators to measure changes in the collective human field.

Drawing from decades of work in consciousness science, Dr. Nelson explains how major global events - such as celebrations or tragedies - correlate with statistically significant shifts in physical systems. These findings suggest that human consciousness is not just passive - but actively shaping our shared experience.

We explore:

  • How the Global Consciousness Project was born
  • What random number generators reveal about collective coherence
  • The science behind non-local mind and subtle field interactions
  • Why emotional intensity - positive or negative - registers in the field
  • The implications for personal and planetary evolution

Dr. Nelson invites us into a paradigm where our inner states matter - not just personally, but globally.

Energetic Evolution & Shiatsu - How to Release Stress & Recover Life Force with Saul Goodman23 Nov 202300:48:44

Is the potency of your "life force" the key to understanding your health? Saul Goodman is an author, teacher and developer of Shin Tai and the founder of the International School of Shiatsu, with branches in over 15 countries. His passion for understanding the energy flow in the human body led to his evolutionary form of Shiatsu, Shin Tai (meaning "Source Body") - a unique approach to activating inner healing forces. In our conversation we consider the relationship of the physical and energetic body - or aura - and its impact on our lived experiences. Saul shares his insights as to how our body communicates the priority areas for treatment and his techniques for releasing the most critical stressors in the system. Saul shares his wisdom on chakras, meridians and kundalini channels and how they interconnect. We also learn of his remarkable experience in which his clairvoyant abilities began with seeing images in a person's energy field which related to their issues. We discuss how embracing our existing life exactly as it is and viewing life as a ritual may lead to profound healing. Saul gives his perspective on the light body and how regulating this vibrational level allows for greater integration with our relationships and environment. Furthermore, we consider the role of optimizing the human energy body and the difference between conscious versus subconscious development. Saul's transformative perspective on health, life and healing is thought provoking and inspires us to consider the nature of our personal and collective evolution.

Saul is author of The Book of Shiatsu, Shiatsu Shin Tai, and Light Body Activation. Shin Tai methodology emerged from his years of practice and discovering the relationship between the resonance of the body and the flow of energy, offering a unique set of diagnostics and techniques to activate the client’s own life force. His book Light Body Activation describes the vibrational shifts taking place in our current stage of evolution and features practices for integrating and synchronizing our life with these vibrational, multidimensional influences. Saul has taught classes for almost forty years, with thirty instructors now teaching Shin Tai in the US and Europe and thousands of practitioners around the world. Currently he runs his private practice alongside his wife Lynn Goodman in Pennsylvania, USA.

He graduated from the University of Arizona with a major in Philosophy and minors in both Physics and Psychology then going on to earn a master’s in Consciousness and Transformative Studies from John F. Kennedy University. In this deeply insightful episode, we speak with Diana Richardson, author of The Heart of Tantric Sex and pioneer of the Slow Sex movement, who has been guiding couples in the art of conscious intimacy for over four decades. A disciple of Osho since 1979, Diana’s exploration into meditation, embodiment, and subtle energy led her to become one of the most respected teachers of modern Tantra.

Diana shares the core principles of conscious sex, including the power of non-doing, awareness, and emotional receptivity. She explains how tantric sex supports energetic expansion and deep connection - moving away from goal-oriented sexuality and toward a slower, more fulfilling intimacy that awakens the whole being.

We explore:

  • The foundations of slow sex and presence-based intimacy
  • Releasing sexual conditioning and performance pressure
  • The roles of breath, awareness, and energetic polarity
  • Why erection and orgasm aren’t required for connection
  • How tantric sex fosters healing and self-realization
  • The body’s magnetic circuits and the concept of subtle flow
  • Inclusivity across gender and sexual orientation
  • Sex as a path to wholeness, joy, and spiritual discovery

Drawing on her experience as co-leader of the renowned Making Love retreats with her partner Michael Richardson, Diana offers grounded, joyful guidance for anyone seeking to deepen their connection - to themselves and to each other.

About Diana Richardson:
Diana is the author of multiple books, including The Heart of Tantric Sex, Slow Sex, Tantric Orgasm for Women, and Tantric Sex for Men (co-authored with Michael Richardson). She is based in Switzerland and has spoken internationally, including at TEDx, where she shares how sex can become a meditative, healing experience when approached with mindfulness and care.

How to Practice Energy Healing Ethically & Legally with Midge Murphy03 Aug 202300:54:31

Midge Murphy JD, PhD practiced entertainment law in California for over a decade, working with prestigious clients such as 20th Century Fox and Disney. After attaining her professional goals, she found herself on a quest to explore her spirituality and the emerging field of energy medicine with luminaries such as Norm Shealy MD, PhD and Caroline Myss. In 2001, she became the first attorney to earn a PhD in energy medicine, becoming an energy healing practitioner. Given her prior experience, that same year she was asked to teach a class on ethics and legal issues and in doing so realized that without appropriate education and training, both licensed and non-licensed practitioners that incorporate energy healing methods into their practices faced possible legal risks. As a result, Midge opened her consulting practice in ethics, legal issues and risk management strategies in the practice of and training in energy healing methods. Midge shares her personal story, and her experience ranging from hospice care and therapeutic touch to reiki and shamanic studies. We discuss how energy healing practitioners are healthcare practitioners, and the importance of practising in integrity, both professionally and legally. We define CAM (complimentary and alternative medicine) and how it fits into the western medicine paradigm. We cover legal and regulatory frameworks for energy healing practitioners in the USA and the changing laws regarding the practice of energy healing. We also discuss important considerations about liability and risk mitigation, such as working across state lines and guidelines about how to appropriately market and describe services. Midge shares what to look for in a professional training body for those interested in becoming certified practitioners. We discuss important ethical considerations such as informed consent, client confidentiality and integrating other practices with energy work. Midge also shares her views on the future of integrative medicine, and how a holistic approach to healthcare simply has to include energy.  For over 15 years, Midge has been serving many of the best-known practitioners and training organizations in the field. She is recognized as a leading expert and a dynamic presenter and teacher, publishing her book Practice Energy Healing in Integrity, expanded and updated in 2020.

I'm Not Coming Back: Experiencing Enlightenment with Ananda Abinou22 Jun 202300:52:29

Ananda Abinou achieved his enlightenment in 1973. Since that time he has travelled extensively, giving freely to whomever sought his knowledge. In 2001 he released his teachings to the public in the book I'm Not Coming Back; Talks With Ananda Abinou (Epinoc Publishing). Ananda muses on all things consciousness related, from esoteric teachings to the nature of reality. He has been called a Black Buddha and the Sage of the West. In this meditative episode Ananda shares his awakening process, the act of letting go at a radical level, and how he didn’t come to awakening through any spiritual system. We discuss what enlightenment is in relation to what he calls "the moment", how psychological tension effects the body and the physical adjustments he experienced after his spiritual awakening. Ananda shares how reality is a “vibrational frequency”, and the importance of the power of choice, focus and responsibility. He highlights how we limit ourselves through our investment in beliefs and how an individual contributes to the collective. He discusses moving beyond duality and coming to wholeness, the singularity of consciousness and our responsibility to truthfulness. Finally, Ananda exemplifies the importance of laughter, joy and why it's important not to take things so seriously!

The Internal Causes of Disease with Peter Mole19 Jan 202300:55:02

Peter Mole is one of the UK's leading practitioners of acupuncture, the Dean at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading and a founding member of the Executive Committee of the British Acupuncture Council. Peter’s particular interest lies in how Chinese medicine understands how people’s internal worlds - especially their emotions - affect their physical and psychological health. He states that “Western medicine is a great system yet it lacks an understanding of how stress and distress affect people’s health. However, this is one of Chinese medicine’s greatest strengths".  We discuss the role of constitution in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), the difference between prana & qi, diagnostic methods in acupuncture and how Peter connects to and tracks the flow of qi through the needle. We cover the vital role of the emotions in health, and his experience of physical versus psycho-emotional orientations to treatment. Peter shares his thoughts on the value of finding meaningful work and loving relationships and the importance of building resilience in mind, body and emotions. He contextualizes the term Spirit in Chinese, shares a little of his personal travels in India and the importance of living in harmony with nature and the Tao. Peter is the author of "Acupuncture for Body, Mind and Spirit", directed at patients and prospective students, and co-author of the major textbook "Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture". He has lectured extensively in Europe, Israel, and the USA. Peter received an M.A. in Modern History from Oxford University. He has been practising acupuncture since 1978.

Join us for an eye-opening conversation with Matty Lansdown, an acclaimed speaker, scientist and nutritionist. Years ago, surrounded by doctors, PhD’s, nurses and fellow scientists, Matty began to feel like an imposter; he was asking questions that no one else seemed to be asking, about the cause of disease and the impact of food on the body. In this episode we uncover his frustrations about the current medical community’s approach to diseases like cancer, and learn about the historical and environmental factors that contribute to modern disease. We discuss how our environment is filled with toxins from the nutritional and environmental to the social and psychological. Through personal stories and expert insights, Matty explains how childhood trauma and coping mechanisms can lead to unhealthy, emotional eating patterns. We discuss how marketing and the dopamine addiction of social media can influence our physiology and dietary choices. Electrical Engineering for the Body with Dr. Dan Keown18 Nov 202200:55:31

In this episode, we welcome Dr. Daniel Keown—medical doctor, acupuncturist, and author of The Spark in the Machine—to explore the science behind qi, fascia, and the body’s energetic architecture.

Dr. Keown shares his vision of acupuncture as electrical engineering for the body, where meridians correspond to fascial planes and disease stems from disrupted qi flow. He discusses how fascia conducts energy, why shen (spirit) is key to well-being, and how embryology explains the energetic blueprint of the human form.

In this conversation, we explore:

  • Why acupuncture works and how it maps to Western anatomy
  • Qi as bioelectric flow—and fascia as its conductor
  • Embryology, morphogenetic fields, and the six divisions
  • Chakras as mini-brains: a new view of subtle anatomy
  • What’s broken in Western medicine (and where it works)
  • Dan’s vision for acupuncture in global healthcare

Connecting to Who You Are with Michael Oruch07 Oct 202200:51:40

Zero Balancing with Michael Oruch: Connecting to Who You Are

In this episode, we sit down with Michael Oruch, President Emeritus of the Zero Balancing Board of Directors, to explore the subtle yet profound healing system of Zero Balancing (ZB). Michael shares how ZB works with both structure and energy—bridging the physical and the energetic through focused touch on bone and joints to clear tension and facilitate transformation.

Discover how Zero Balancing:

  • Connects us to our core essence and ancestral patterns
  • Uses “fulcrums” to shift held vibrations in the body-field
  • Navigates the interface between structure and energy
  • Can be practiced remotely through surrogates
  • Induces expanded states of consciousness for self-reorganization

We explore how trauma, healing, and embodiment intersect within ZB—and why “hurting good” can sometimes be the sign of deep release. Whether you're a practitioner, seeker, or someone curious about the energetic anatomy, this is a rich dive into subtle touch and profound presence.

Michael has studied with ZB founder Dr. Fritz Smith and taught extensively across the U.S. and internationally. He is also trained in Qigong and Tai Chi and brings decades of experience to the subtle healing arts.
