Adélaïde et Hyacinthe, deux expatriés français, décident de passer la journée à Kew Gardens avec leurs enfants respectifs. Tandis que les heures passent et qu'ils approfondissent leur exploration des jardins botaniques, la complexité de leurs sentiments prend pour toile de fond l'immense diversité du parc. Un tableau méditatif et mélancolique du sentiment amoureux.

Premier épisode d'un diptyque londonien, hommage à Virginia Woolf et à la capitale anglaise.

1640 dans le Yorkshire. Des centaines de singes ont envahi le manoir de la Lady Henrietta, dont ils sont la grande et unique passion, au grand dam de sa gouvernante, la pauvre Mrs Crosse, et de tous les autres domestiques…

September 2012. It’s been raining for days over York. Without a job nor any kinds of prospects, the young Alex wanders in the streets of his city and the leafy banks of the river Ouse. As the rain comes down harder, he sinks into a deeper and deeper melancholy.

A reflection on contemporary, deindustrialised England as on the place of nature, The Flood is also the tender portrayal of a lost working-class youth.

Septembre 2012. Il pleut depuis plusieurs jours sur York. Sans emploi et sans perspective, le jeune Alex traîne son existence dans les rues de sa ville et sur les rives arborées de l'Ouse. A mesure que l'averse se durcit, il plonge dans une mélancolie de plus en plus profonde.

Réflexion sur l'Angleterre contemporaine désindustrialisée comme sur la place de la nature et la menace d'un changement inévitable de l'ordre établi, L'Inondation est aussi le portrait tendre d'un jeune homme perdu de la classe ouvrière.

Un épisode de Noël très spécial puisqu'il s'agit d'un extrait de mon premier roman, Les Adieux, publié aux éditions Hello.

Dans le Valois de l’après-guerre, François Mortier, fils d’un boucher et d’une ancienne chapelière, épouse Madeleine Valqueyras, seule héritière d’une famille de grands bourgeois originaires de Provence. Malgré l’amour profond qui l’unit à sa femme, François prend peu à peu toute la mesure de leur mésalliance. Il est fasciné par cette famille à laquelle il se trouve annexé mais qui l’ignore et le méprise.

Célébration nostalgique de la campagne picarde, Les Adieux dresse le portrait d’une maison et d’un milieu agonisant, aux prises avec un monde en pleine mutation.
