In 1992, Benny's Video would have absolutely rocked my world. I can tell you that today, it still does. This timeless and gut-wrenching film highlights what it means to be a person in the world today of continuous and increasingly violent media. Roman Polanski redefined the horror genre when he put Rosemary's Baby on the map. This chilling masterpiece includes paranoia, motherhood, and manipulation. The film is still completely relevant today, standing the test of time and illustrating that women's issues were not completely resolved in the 1960s.

Experimental horror is not for everyone. I give many thanks to the universe it is my favorite cup of tea. Gaspar Noe's Climax is a descent into the minds of a drug-addled dance troupe inside of an abandoned school in France. What could possibly go wrong?

For reasons unknown to me, I had no one in my life interested enough in this film to go see it in theaters. Now that I have seen it, I finally understand all of the buzz. The journey through the psyche of Saint Maud will leave you speachless.

Have a fear of the uncanny? Puppets? Surrealism? Possum (2018) contains a combination of all of these elements to create the most upsetting psychological horror film I have seen in years. And I promise, there's not as much Freudian discussion as you might think.
