Marriage & Entrepreneurship with Jason AKA Dreambro, My Husband02 May 202200:41:28
Did you know I work with my husband? World, meet Jason, my former tree-trimmer/ optimization coach turned valuable member of the Dreampro team. Now some of you may be asking…how does that work exactly? Yes, I work and live with my husband…AND I still love him at the end of the day. We’re going to cover a lot of ground today and one of those topics is HOW the above is and stays true. We’ll cover:
  • Jason’s perspectives on our business
  • The importance of communication in business and relationships
  • Ways to maintain good boundaries

We’re both proud of the business we’ve built, and part of the reason we’ve been so successful is because we’re great partners to each other both at work and at home. It’s not always easy, but when your spouse also becomes part of your dream team, there really is nothing like it.

Good Courses Cite Sources, Because Stealing Intellectual Property is Gross18 Apr 202200:23:10
For those of us who create, and especially for those of us who create through writing, there is probably no word more frightening than the P-word. Plagiarism.  No thank you.

As someone who helps curate courses for various small businesses, I have to be adaptable to all sorts of industries, some of which aren’t my area of expertise. While I’m never completing a course purely from scratch, I still have to build it with a working knowledge of the various topics. Enter, research, and the delicate dance of researching and citing and outright stealing. In this episode I talk more about:

  • How to uphold intellectual integrity
  • How to incorporate  research and others’ knowledge fairly

It’s important that you shine through in your course, and that your unique personality and experiences color the program. You’re less an author and more a guide and the journey you’re taking your clients on is the point more so than the destination. Don’t shy away from research but don’t overpower your own story either.

Remember Why You Started: To Give Them What They Need, Not What They Want11 Apr 202200:17:45
If we’re not creating with our clients from a place of intentionality, then we need to reevaluate our strategy; content for content’s sake serves no one, and I’m not here to waste anyone’s time, especially my own. This means you can’t be afraid, to be honest with your clients, and you have to operate from a place of bravery and steadfast knowledge. In the latest episode of The Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast, I talk more about:
  • Delivering what clients need versus what they want
  • My own experiences with various courses
  • The importance of foundational work from you and your client

This all comes down to communication, and being able to sit in some potential temporary awkwardness with the ultimate goal of real, transformative change. Remember you’re not here to give them what they want; if they were able to sustain their business off of that they wouldn’t have sought you out at all. You’re here to evaluate everything, and give them what they NEED.

To help you zero in on what you ACTUALLY need to get started, I recorded an episode about some of my favorite tools, software, and platforms.

Here’s what I talk about in this episode:

  • The Technology Basics - Must-Have Items
  • Additional Tech Tools & Software - Nice to Haves

These are just my recommendations, and obviously, there are more items out there depending on your business and goals. But, this is definitely a great starting point if you’re just getting going in course creation.

A Rant on Paid Versus Free Content21 Feb 202200:12:58

The topic of paid content versus what should be free can be a tough line to straddle for some. I definitely have some thoughts on the topic, which is why I decided to dive into it on this episode. While I understand thinking that you want to put everything behind a paywall, I also think there are some specific reasons to provide your audience with free content, too.

As you navigate these waters, it’s REALLY important to examine what you’re offering as part of your paid content to ensure you’re giving them the curated content that they’re yearning.

Here’s what I talk about in this episode:

  • The Difference Between Paid and Free Content
  • High Ticket vs. Low Cost Content
  • What People Want Out of Courses

I hope this episode inspires you to think about your paid content and what you offer your audience for free to refine your perspective and content philosophy.

What I Wish I Knew Before Creating My First Course11 Jul 202200:19:20

Are you sitting on a course-creation goldmine?! If you have ever wanted to branch out in terms of your business pursuits, but have let fear and doubt hold you back, not only are you stifling your own creative process, you’re failing to help people to your fullest potential, and literally sitting on what could be a consistent stream of passive income.

As exhilarating as course creation can be, it’s also a daunting process to take all your ideas - and entire process, really- and boil it down to basics that others can learn and implement. There are lots of things you learn after the fact, that are only available to figure out thanks to that old jerk, Hindsight.

That’s why in this episode we’ll talk about:

  • What I wish I knew before creating a course
  • Tips to make the process easier
  • Getting as much or as little help as you need while creating

If you have enjoyed this episode of the podcast, take a screenshot, head on over to Instagram and share your IG stories and tag me, @dreamprocourses.

Whatever it is that’s holding you back, please let it go because people need to hear what you have to say. If you've ever struggled with doubt about where to start, or even if you should, just know that people need to hear what you have to say and they need to hear how you are going to say it. The way that you teach has the potential to change the course (sorry I had to) of someone’s life, and help them learn in a way that’s never before been available to them.

If you feel called to creating a specific course, don’t ignore it and don’t hesitate because you’re afraid you might not be good enough- that’s a shitty reason to miss out on what could be a massive opportunity.

How Peloton Uses Gamification Strategies to Engage & Transform Their Customers14 Feb 202200:25:19

I’m sure that you’ve heard of Peloton - I mean, who hasn’t?! But, in this week’s episode, I’m talking about my own experience with the company. My FOMO finally overtook and pushed me to get my own bike. Let me tell you - it’s been a great experience so far, and I’ve learned A LOT! I want to share that knowledge with you here.

This company has a cult-like following for a reason. I love tapping into the community they built not only as a part of getting fit but also to discover just how they’ve built something that people love so much and absolutely flock to. There are a lot of business lessons there, believe it or not!

Here’s what I talk about in this episode:

  • The Peloton Brand & Purchase Experience
  • Lessons from Peloton
  • The Delivery Experience
  • The Ride Itself
  • Peloton Gamification

I hope you enjoy this recap on my Peloton journey. I’m just getting started with the bike, and I have a feeling I’ll learn even more along the way, too.

When to Use Pilot & Beta Strategies for Creating a Program07 Feb 202200:13:49

Sometimes it can be super overwhelming to decide what types of strategies are right for the programs you’re developing! If you’ve ever felt that way - particularly around pilot and beta programs - then this is the episode for you!

I have my own set of thoughts on pilot programs and beta tests, and I’m sharing them in this episode. These strategies can be great, but they are also only right in very specific instances. I want you to make sure you have a clear understanding of that for your own programs and businesses.

Here’s what I go over in this episode:

  • What Are Pilot and Beta Programs?
  • Who Are Pilot Programs Right For?
  • Who Are Beta Programs Right For?

I hope this episode debunks some of the common misconceptions about these strategies and makes it easier for you to understand when and if they’re right for you!

How I Developed a Virtual Reality Experience for a Fortune 40 Company31 Jan 202200:26:10

A sense of belonging is the usual cornerstone of anything my team and I create for any business, big or small. Building that for a company that’s nationally recognized and huge is no small task.

That’s why doing this very thing for Lowes was one of the hardest, best things I’ve ever done in terms of my career. We were able to bridge the gap between departments in unique and groundbreaking ways. In this episode of the pod I talk about how our process:

  • Was the first to utilize virtual reality in a training context
  • How I was given free rein to create a modern and sleek video that resonated across the board

It was such a defining moment in my career; It felt like anything was possible, hence why we included a virtual reality element. Because we could.

And yeah, because it ultimately benefited the team they were training, but come on, it was a major “future is now” moment. It was a crazy ride and I’m so proud of what we did.

18 Strategies to Make Your Learning Experiences More Interactive24 Jan 202200:16:27

Welcome to the Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast!

Get ready, because today I’m throwing a lot at you. 18 (yeah you read that right) tips to help you in your course creating journey. The name of the game today is inspiration, and even if you only take away one or two new tips, those will still go a long way in helping you instruct with more fun and energy.

In this episode, we’ll go more into:

  • Ways to make sure your audience stays engaged
  • Tips to make sure you stay enthused and avoid burnout

Remember that your opinion of what you teach is actually the most important thing. It colors the course you create, and if you are truly proud and excited about what you’re putting out there, your audience will pick up on that.

Utilizing various tactics and versions of technology will make your course more informative and appealing to a larger audience, and your genuine enthusiasm will carry you the rest of the way.

How Instructional Design Is Different in This Industry Than Corporate17 Jan 202200:17:56

Calling all small businesses! This is just to let you know how much I love you. Cause I love you, like, a lot. Sure, I started out working with large corporations, and we had some good times. But toward the end there, I just felt like a cog in a machine. I wasn’t seen or valued. And then you came around, and the rest was course creation history.

There are so many differences in working with small and large organizations, but corporate just doesn’t hold a candle to the online business world!

In this episode, I’m excited to share more about:

  • The real stories behind working for some of the biggest corporations out there
  • Why I am so grateful to now work with small/independent businesses

I could really go on all day. I love that there’s less red tape. I love that I just need one person to sign off, instead of 25 investors and the CEO’s mom. I love that smaller businesses have quicker time tables and turnarounds, and I love that for my part, the jobs are so varied and interesting.

But most of all I love that in helping small businesses, I get to live my values and create with integrity. In conclusion, small business rules, corporations drool.

Expanding Your Brand as a Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur with Madison Tinder10 Jan 202200:33:53

Should you go for it? (Spoiler: YES). After all, where would we be without that people who brainstormed & paved the way for today’s virtual world? Sending texts with our collection of carrier pigeons? No thanks.

So whatever idea it is you’re sitting on, you should definitely go for it without holding back. This week’s guest and multifaceted entrepreneur, Madison Tinder, agrees. She was in your shoes once, with one successful business in mind, but always thinking of other avenues for success. People doubted her, said she wouldn’t have time to do both, but she did. Through some rearranging and prioritizing disciplined usage of time, girlfriend is now a badass coach and scrunchie queen.

Come for a listen as we talk:

  • How simplifying and hiring can help you streamline your business
  • How this streamlining can make more room on your full plate to expand

You don’t have to do it all. Slow and steady progress is a sustainable way to grow and expand, and with a carefully assembled team behind you, your ability to meet more and more goals also grows.

None of this has to be complicated; in fact quite the opposite. And you’ll discover that as you try, fail, and then try again. So don’t listen to the doubters, just listen to that idea in your head that won’t leave you alone, and the drive you’ve always had.

8 Secrets to Becoming a Better Educator This Year03 Jan 202200:26:58

Welcome to the Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast! On today’s episode, we’re going to talk about some fundamentals of teaching. They say those who can’t do, teach. Well, I hate to break it to them, but if there is one thing that’s hard in this world, it’s teaching someone new things. Seriously.

I’ve worked with clients across the map; those who know their stuff, but have yet to translate that into instruction, and those who have taught for a while but might need a refresher. Either way, all you really need is a solid grasp on your subject matter.

In this episode we’ll go deeper into:

  • Ways to become a better educator
  • Ways to keep growing in and honing your course or craft

Implementing any of these tips could be a game changer in terms of the clients you draw in and the content you produce. They are comprehensive, practical, and value the real reason you’re in this business — to help others make their lives better. Your impact matters, so let's maximize it.

Lessons of a Million-Dollar Agency: 2021 in Review27 Dec 202100:24:38

Today I’m taking a look back on this year and breaking down what went well, what went wrong, and why a killer team is a rare and precious thing.

Too often, small business owners feel like we have to do it all ourselves. Sure, we could delegate, but what if it isn’t perfect? I got news for you, it’s never perfect, even when YOU do it.

In this episode we’ll talk more about:

  • Why delegation actually improves your product
  • How to trust your judgement (and the people you’ve hired)
  • Remind you that you deserve rest/ a life

I respect the grind. I know that your business will grow in proportion to the amount of work you put in. But sometimes it’s ok to let other people put in some work too. And it’s ok to slow down, rest, and maybe take your partner out to lunch.

Appreciation for the process is just as important as hitting a goal, and learning to celebrate the attempts along the way will do wonders for your business, staff, and your perspective.

How to Leverage Challenges to Skyrocket Your Course Launch with Jeff Baietto13 Dec 202100:29:49

Welcome to the Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast! On today’s episode I’m joined by special guest Jeff Baietto, COO and co-founder of InJoy Global. This is a company that specializes in helping you and your business grow through exciting gameplay based on your content & offers.

It’s a great way to snag clients who are curious but perhaps a tad shy about a large initial investment. In doing a finite challenge, you’ll be able to give them a test drive of what it’s like to work with you, and show them just how much you can impact their lives for the better. We go into even greater details about:

  • Why challenges - specifically those launched through Jeff’s platform - work
  • How psychology and marketing strategies combine for optimum marketing

During our conversation, Jeff takes a deep dive into the marriage that is marketing and the science behind it. Tune in if you want to see how leveraging a challenge with a custom made app based in science and strategy is just what you need to level up.

Always Let Your Clients Be Your Guide- Innovate to Improve, Not to Spin Your Wheels20 Jun 202200:13:49

No matter how you slice it, innovation is a vital component of growing your business and keeping it relevant. If it’s not done carefully, however, you stand the chance of going off the rails or making your established business unrecognizable. That’s why it’s important to remember why you started, and even more important to remember where you want to go.

In this episode I’ll talk more about:

  • Innovation, and why we need it
  • How true innovation should enhance your course
  • Questions to ask when implementing changes

True innovation is thinking outside of the box and instead of relying on what’s always worked, it’s seeking evermore efficient and optimal solutions. It isn’t rash or impulsive- instead, it’s the result of thoughtful discernment that’s informed by your own life experiences and the way they apply to the needs and wants of your clients.

In this episode of The Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast, I’m sharing some lessons I've learned behind why I chose to close my membership. I've had my membership for about a year now and there were a ton of major reflections I took away when ending it. As I’ve looked at my plan for 2021, I want to focus on how I’m doing things rather than what I’m doing. I’m going to get completely raw in this episode and share some of the biggest lessons I've learned while running my membership.

Topics and lessons I’ll share include:

  • The reason I dropped the membership.
  • Be honest with yourself and your audience.
  • My favorite part of the membership.
  • I want to focus on one thing only.

You know what they say…One door closes, another door opens. I enjoyed my membership so much but it's time to focus on the things in my business that excite me. Remember, if something is not working out, you can ALWAYS do something about it!
