| 'Create the space your looking for' - Queer Run Margate | 08 Jan 2024 | 00:49:00 | |
Welcome back to the podcast and to 2024!
Before 2023 came to a close I visited the Kent coast to spend some time with Queer Run Margate.
A running community born in May of the same year to create space for members of the Queer community and its allies. A mobile space to move and connect.
I spent some time with its two founders Daisy and Sian before joining the group for a run.
In this conversation we learn how the crew was formed, how you can create a space you want to see and how its members shape the group.
Thank you to Sian and Daisy for letting me come and join them and to QRM for being so welcoming.

| Warming Yourself from other people's fire - The Big Run - Episode 100 - Danny in Conversation with Tilly GW | 09 Jul 2022 | 00:58:35 | |
Welcome to the 100th episode.
Yes that's right, we have reached 100 episodes. I’m not quite sure how but I am sure that every single conversation has been stimulating and so rewarding and I am grateful to all the guests who have given their time, insight and perspective by coming on the show.
A previous guest, the wonderful Tilly, who recently joined me in Victoria park proposed the idea that she would like to interview me. So I thought, as an experiment that maybe for episode 100 you might like a little bit more insight into your host.
Tilly joined me on London's south bank for coffee and pastries. We talk about being more than one thing, the version of yourself you present to the different people your around, dealing with loss, running as a performance and so much more.
I hope you enjoy

After a track session with OAC head coach Thomas Dreißigacker, we had a chance to learn more from the founders and have some time with the athletes.
Have a listen to join me on this day trip to Switzerland to find out more.

| Running Towards Nature - Healing, Connecting and Growing a Community with Marlon Patrice and We Go Outside Too. | 23 Apr 2022 | 00:26:50 | |
Running Towards Nature. Hello and welcome back to The Big Run. Last Sunday on a sunny Easter weekend. I had the chance to link with Marlon Patrice and some of the members of We Go Outside Too. Marlon had organised a coach to bring members of the group down to Kew Gardens in London. Following the tragic death of his son in 2020, due to knife crime, and the onset of the COVID pandemic, Marlon was compelled to turn his grief into a power for good. ‘We Go Outside Too’ is his brainchild, an active group making the countryside accessible, with a clear focus on empowering the Black Community to experience the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of nature. A keen runner, Marlon has been a member of City of Birmingham Striders since 2010, recently turning out for the national road relays as well as taking on the Palestine Marathon. I tagged along to chat with Marlon and some members of the group as they explored Kew. A big thankyou to Marlon Patrice, Tessfa Boyd, Abdul Abz Shahid and Jazzmin Fletcher for their time.
