The Hidden Fear Behind Your Need to Explain Yourself Constantly26 Oct 202600:09:46

Stop letting anxiety run your life. Start the End The Anxiety Program today and follow a structured path toward greater self trust and emotional freedom.

Why You Keep Explaining Yourself to Everyone

You explain why you said no. You defend your decisions. You replay conversations and send another message to make sure nobody took you the wrong way.

Why does being misunderstood feel so threatening?

Overexplaining often goes beyond wanting to communicate clearly. It can become a way of avoiding judgment, preventing conflict, and seeking reassurance that you haven't disappointed anyone.

The relief is temporary. Soon, you're questioning yourself again and looking for the right words to make everyone understand.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, Dennis Simsek breaks down the fear behind overexplaining, how it feeds anxiety and people-pleasing, and how to stop making other people's approval a requirement for trusting yourself.

In this episode:

  • The hidden fear: Why judgment, rejection, and misunderstanding can feel unsafe.

  • The learned pattern: How keeping others happy may have become a way of protecting yourself.

  • The reassurance trap: Why explaining more can strengthen the need for approval.

  • The practical shift: How to give clear answers without repeatedly defending your choices.

  • The recovery practice: Letting someone misunderstand you without immediately abandoning your position.

Your decisions do not need everyone's approval. Your boundaries do not need an endless defense.

Learn to recognize when you're communicating and when you're asking for permission to feel okay.

You don't need everyone to understand your decisions to trust yourself enough to make them.

Stop Trying to Think Your Way Out of Anxiety (Do This Instead)19 Oct 202600:14:18

Our Most Comprehensive Anxiety Recovery Program Yet. We've combined the Inner Circle and End The Anxiety Program into one complete recovery experience. Explore the End The Anxiety Program

STOP TRYING TO THINK YOUR WAY OUT OF ANXIETY

What if the very thing you're doing to overcome anxiety is actually keeping you stuck?

You analyze your thoughts, question your feelings, replay conversations, and search for answers that will finally help you feel safe, certain, and in control.

But the more you try to think your way toward peace, the more mentally exhausted and disconnected from life you become.

Overthinking can feel productive because you're actively trying to solve something. Yet when every uncomfortable feeling becomes another problem to figure out, your mind learns to treat uncertainty as something that must be resolved before you can move forward.

The answer isn't necessarily to think better. It's to change your relationship with thinking itself.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, Dennis Simsek explores why trying to reason your way out of anxiety can strengthen the very patterns you're hoping to overcome, and how to begin stepping out of the cycle.

IN THIS EPISODE
  • Why trying to solve every anxious thought can keep the cycle of worry alive.

  • How searching for certainty and reassurance reinforces overthinking.

  • Why understanding your anxiety doesn't always translate into emotional relief.

  • How to recognize when problem-solving has become another form of anxiety management.

  • Practical ways to stop engaging with every thought and begin responding with greater trust, acceptance, and self-compassion.

  • Why meaningful recovery involves returning to life rather than waiting for your mind to become completely quiet.

You don't have to resolve every thought to begin experiencing peace. Sometimes recovery begins when you stop treating every thought as a problem that needs your attention.

Why Anxiety Is Exhausting Even When You Haven't Done Much12 Oct 202600:12:40

Anxiety taking up too much of your day? My End The Anxiety Program gives you a structured path to change anxious thinking, respond differently, and bring more life back into your days. Start the End The Anxiety Program

WHY ANXIETY IS SO EXHAUSTING

Do you feel drained even on days when you haven't done much?

Other people see you going through an ordinary day. They don't see the conversations you're rehearsing, the decisions you're questioning, or the problems you're preparing for before they happen.

Even your quiet moments can feel like work when you're trying to relax while checking whether you feel better yet.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, Dennis Simsek explores three ways anxiety can make everyday life feel exhausting and how to begin easing that daily mental effort.

IN THIS EPISODE

• How anticipating tomorrow's problems consumes today's attention.
• Why replaying conversations and questioning decisions feels so draining.
• How trying to relax can become another source of pressure.
• Why constantly checking how you feel makes it difficult to switch off.
• Practical ways to spend less of your day managing anxiety and more of it living.

You've made anxiety recovery a priority. You've tried to calm your body and understand your symptoms. So why does a sense of safety still feel out of reach?

I recently shared something with my anxiety coaching group that I want to share with you. When every new sensation sends you back to checking, analysing, and searching for certainty, it can feel as though you're starting over.

In today's episode, we explore why trying to calm down doesn't always help anxiety settle, and what feeling safe might mean beyond the absence of symptoms. If you're tired of waiting to feel perfectly calm before you live, this conversation is for you.

THIS Is What's Keeping You Stuck in Anxiety21 Sep 202600:12:55

Understanding your anxiety is a beginning. Changing your daily responses is the next step. My End the Anxiety Program brings structure to that work, so you can start applying what you're learning. https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/end-the-anxiety-program

Today's Anxiety Guy Podcast Episode

Lately, inside our anxiety coaching group, we've been exploring a question that I believe can completely change the way we approach recovery:

What is your anxiety actually asking from you?

For many people, anxiety becomes something to fight, manage, analyze, or get rid of. But sometimes the symptoms, tension, exhaustion, overthinking, and constant inner alarm may be pointing toward something that has been missing.

Maybe your nervous system is asking for more personal time and fewer automatic yeses.

Maybe it's asking for more movement, adventure, play, connection, or confidence in your body.

Maybe it's asking you to finally speak up instead of continually swallowing your feelings, intentions, and needs.

And sometimes, it may simply be asking you to slow down enough to hear yourself again.

In today's episode, we explore several possibilities behind that question and how listening differently can begin removing some of the confusion, pressure, and struggle surrounding anxiety. This isn't about treating every symptom like a hidden message or finding another thing to fix. It's about becoming more curious about what your life, body, and nervous system may need from you now.

I Wasn't My Symptoms, I Just Thought I Was14 Sep 202600:14:37

You are more than the sensations you keep monitoring. My Health Anxiety Recovery Program guides you through changing symptom fear, checking, and reassurance habits one day at a time. https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/health-anxiety-recovery-program

Today's Health Anxiety Podcast Episode:

My Symptoms Were Real. But They Weren't Me.

For years, my symptoms felt personal. Every sensation seemed meaningful, threatening, and like proof that something was wrong.

In this episode, I share an important shift in my health anxiety recovery: learning to stop identifying with my symptoms and begin observing them instead.

We explore why health anxiety can turn physical sensations into part of our identity, how constant self-monitoring keeps us trapped inside the body, and what changes when we create space between "I am experiencing this" and "this is who I am."

This isn't about ignoring symptoms or forcing yourself to feel calm. It's about changing your relationship with what you feel and moving away from constant surveillance, interpretation, and urgency.

The Real Reason You're Still Stuck in Health Anxiety07 Sep 202600:10:47

Reassurance fades. Practicing a different response gives you something to build on. My Health Anxiety Recovery Program provides daily guidance to work on checking, symptom fear, and the habits keeping the cycle going. https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/health-anxiety-recovery-program

Description:

Health anxiety can become more than a reaction to symptoms. Over time, the mind and nervous system can become conditioned to familiar states of fear, scanning, tension, and survival.

In this episode, Dennis explores the emotional refractory period and how repeated emotional states can keep the system locked into familiar patterns, even when there is no immediate danger. When fear has been practiced for long enough, the body can begin to expect it, the mind can search for reasons to justify it, and ordinary sensations can quickly become interpreted through the lens of threat.

We'll look at why health anxiety can feel so automatic, why reassurance often brings only temporary relief, and how repeatedly checking, monitoring, and anticipating symptoms can reinforce the very state you are trying to escape.

Most importantly, you'll learn why recovery is not simply about convincing yourself that you are safe. It is about gradually teaching your system that it no longer has to return to the same familiar emotional environment of fear and survival.

3 Ways Your Inner Protector Keeps Anxiety Alive31 Aug 202600:16:12

Worry, anticipation, and regret can take over your day before you notice. My End the Anxiety Program gives you structured daily guidance to recognize these patterns, change your responses, and start making different choices.

Start here:
https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/end-the-anxiety-program

Description: In today's episode, we explore 3 ways your inner protector may be keeping anxiety alive: worry, anticipation, and regret. Your inner protector is constantly trying to keep you safe, prepared, and in control, but when it becomes overactive, it can keep you trapped in what might happen, what could go wrong, or what you wish you had done differently.

We'll look at how worry feeds uncertainty, anticipation creates fear before anything happens, and regret keeps you emotionally tied to the past. The goal isn't to fight this protective part of you, but to recognize when protection has become overprotection and begin responding with more trust, flexibility, and presence. A powerful question to ask is: "Is this protecting me from something happening right now, or is it trying to protect me from uncertainty?"

Anxiety & Grief: The Missing Piece in Your Recovery24 Aug 202600:17:07

You've spent years holding things together. Now give yourself space to work on the patterns keeping anxiety alive. My End the Anxiety Program offers daily guidance for changing anxious thinking, responding to difficult emotions, and building self trust.

Start here:
https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/end-the-anxiety-program

Episode Description:
In today's episode, we explore a piece of anxiety recovery that can easily be overlooked: grief. Grief doesn't always arrive as obvious sadness. It can build quietly through years of holding things in, staying strong, pushing forward, suppressing tears, and never fully allowing yourself to acknowledge what hurt.

Over time, that emotional accumulation may show up as tension, exhaustion, nervous system activation, irritability, heaviness, or a sense that your body is carrying more than you consciously realize.

We'll talk about what can happen when grief is finally given permission to move, through acknowledgement, emotional expression, crying, and allowing the younger parts of you to feel what they may never have felt safe enough to express before.

Instead of immediately asking, "How do I get rid of this anxiety?", another powerful question may be:

"What am I still carrying that I never allowed myself to grieve?"

Healing may sometimes involve less fighting and more permission, permission to feel, acknowledge, express, and finally allow what has been held inside for far too long.

Anxiety and Self Abandonment: When Your Body Says "No"17 Aug 202600:20:47

https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/end-the-anxiety-program

Episode Description: In today's episode, we look at how people pleasing, suppressed emotions, performance, and repeatedly overriding your internal "no" may contribute to anxiety, tension, and exhaustion. Instead of always asking, "How do I get rid of this symptom?", try asking, "What did I override?" Safety may not only be calmness; it may also be honesty, expression, boundaries, and living more in alignment with what feels true to you. Ask yourself: "What is my body trying to tell me right now, and what has it been trying to tell me all day?"

Anxiety and Burnout: What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You?10 Aug 202600:19:05

Exhausted from pushing through while your mind keeps worrying? My End the Anxiety Program gives you daily guidance to change anxious patterns without making recovery another thing you pressure yourself to achieve.

Start here:
https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/end-the-anxiety-program

Today's Episode on Anxiety and Burnout: What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You?

What if some of the exhaustion you experience is not only about how much you are doing, but how much of yourself you are overriding while doing it? In today's episode, we explore the connection between anxiety, burnout, prolonged nervous system activation, people pleasing, emotional suppression, and repeatedly ignoring what your body is communicating. You may wake up feeling tired, tense, dizzy, heavy, or mentally drained and immediately assume you did too much physically. But another question may be more revealing: What did I override?

  • Maybe you wanted to say no but said yes.
  • Maybe you felt anger or resentment but stayed quiet.
  • Maybe you kept performing, pleasing, smiling, or pushing forward while internally bracing.

Over time, constantly overriding these internal signals can become biological work and contribute to prolonged activation. The body may first communicate quietly through tension, irritation, fatigue, resistance, or a simple internal feeling of no. When those signals are repeatedly ignored, the body may begin turning up the volume.

The goal is not to analyze every sensation or allow symptoms to control your life. It is to become more honest and responsive to yourself. Sometimes that means resting, speaking up, asking for help, setting a boundary, or saying no. Other times it means recognizing fear while still moving toward something you genuinely want. Instead of immediately asking, "How do I get rid of this symptom?" ask, "What is my body actually showing me here?" And at the end of the day, ask yourself: "What is my body trying to tell me right now?" and "What has my body been trying to tell me all day?"

Why You're Still Anxious: A Deep Conversation About What Keeps Anxiety Alive27 Jul 202600:56:54

Understanding anxiety doesn't automatically change the habits feeding it. My End the Anxiety Program helps you turn insight into daily practice, with a structured path to work on worry, overthinking, and fear based responses.

Start here:
https://anxietyguyprograms.com/b/end-the-anxiety-program

Today's Episode: Why You're Still Anxious: A Deep Conversation About What Keeps Anxiety Alive

In this powerful and deeply honest conversation with Julie, we explore why anxiety can continue even when you are doing everything you can to recover.

This anxiety guy podcast episode goes far beyond symptoms. We uncover the hidden patterns, beliefs, reactions, and survival responses that can keep anxiety alive even when you understand anxiety intellectually and have spent years trying to overcome it.

Through Julie's honest questions and personal experiences, we explore the urgency to recover, resistance towards symptoms, the need for certainty, the pressure to feel better, and the habit of constantly measuring whether recovery is working.

You may have tried calming techniques, mindset work, reassurance, meditation, exposure, nervous system exercises, or countless methods designed to make anxiety disappear. Yet something may still feel stuck.

The reason may not be that you are missing another technique. It may be that your nervous system is still receiving the message that your present experience is unacceptable, unsafe, or must immediately change.

This conversation will help you recognise why your symptoms may not be the real problem. The deeper cycle is often created by the meaning attached to those symptoms and the fearful relationship that develops around them.

When every sensation is monitored, judged, resisted, questioned, or treated as an emergency, the brain continues receiving the message that something is wrong.

This episode is longer than my regular podcast episodes, but it is certainly worth the deeper listen. It may provide the clarity you have been searching for and help you understand what has truly been keeping anxiety alive.

✨ Today's Episode: Your Symptoms Aren't the Real Problem

Health anxiety convinces you that your symptoms must disappear before you can finally feel safe. But the constant monitoring, resistance, and urgency to fix them may be what keeps your nervous system on alert.

In this episode, I share the inner shift that changes how you respond to uncomfortable sensations. When you stop treating every symptom as a problem that must be solved immediately, you begin teaching your brain and body that the experience may be uncomfortable without automatically meaning danger.

The goal is not to ignore your symptoms. It is to stop allowing them to determine whether or not you feel safe. This is where trust begins, the fear cycle starts to weaken, and lasting healing becomes possible.

Stay With Yourself: The Anxiety Recovery Principle That Changes Everything

You may understand anxiety very well and still feel stuck in the same cycle.

For years, I believed recovery meant getting rid of fear, symptoms, and uncomfortable emotions. What I did not realize was that every time discomfort appeared, I abandoned myself through researching, analyzing, fixing, worrying, and trying to understand what everything meant.

In this episode, I share a simple principle that has become deeply important to me: Stay With Yourself.

In This Episode

• Why anxiety can lead to self-abandonment
• What it really means to stay with yourself
• Why you do not need to understand every emotion
• How releasing the need for certainty creates freedom
• Why self-presence supports lasting recovery

You'll discover why healing cannot be forced, how self-fixing can unintentionally keep anxiety alive, and why safety, honesty, and self-trust create the conditions for lasting recovery.

Why Medical Reassurance Stops Working for Health Anxiety | The Anxiety Guy Podcast

There comes a point in the health anxiety cycle where another test, another appointment, another explanation, or another "you're fine" no longer brings the peace it once did.

This, I believe is because health anxiety is rarely satisfied by information alone.

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we will explore what happens when the mind becomes dependent on outside confirmation before it feels safe in the body. You may know logically that you have been checked. You may have been reassured more than once. You may even understand that anxiety can create real physical symptoms. Yet something inside still asks, "But what if this time is different?"

This episode will help you understand why reassurance can become part of the fear pattern, how the search for certainty keeps the nervous system on alert, and why true recovery requires something deeper than another answer.

Inside this episode, we'll explore:

  • Why reassurance can calm the mind briefly but fail to create lasting safety.
  • How health anxiety teaches the brain to mistrust the body.
  • Why repeated checking, researching, and asking can keep the alarm system active.
  • How to begin responding to symptoms without turning them into threats.
  • Why recovery is not about being 100% certain, but becoming more grounded in uncertainty.

This conversation is for anyone who feels stuck in the loop of body scanning, Googling symptoms, asking others for reassurance, replaying doctor visits, or needing one more sign that everything is okay.

Healing begins when you stop outsourcing safety to the next answer and begin rebuilding a steady relationship with yourself.

What Your Anxiety Symptoms Are Really Asking From You22 Jun 202600:14:30

Use code Love30 today for 30% off at anxietyguyprograms.com and find the program that feels right for where you are in your healing journey.

Episode Description:

In today's episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, we explore one of the most overlooked parts of anxiety recovery: the inner connection to what you've been pushing away for so long.

When anxiety symptoms, discomfort, fear, or exhaustion show up, the inner protector often wants to pull your attention toward fixing, analyzing, escaping, or "doing something about it." But what if the next step in healing isn't another technique, but a different relationship with what you feel?

Today we'll talk about the practice of sitting with what is, in this very moment not as a way to force anxiety symptoms away, but as a way to finally stop abandoning the parts of you that have been asking for your presence.

You'll learn why your symptoms of anxiety may be carrying a deeper message, how nervous system sensitivity and burnout can become conditioned over time, and why love doesn't always mean feeling warm and peaceful. Sometimes love simply means respecting what is here, without pushing it away.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why the inner protector keeps pulling you away from being with your symptoms
  • How "doing something about it" can sometimes keep the anxiety cycle alive
  • Why allowing is not giving up, but reconnecting
  • How the phrase "sit with what is, in this very moment" can become a recovery practice
  • Why symptoms may be asking for connection rather than control

Episode reflection:

What part of you have you been trying to get rid of that may simply be asking you to finally be with it?

The Truth About Tension: Why Anxiety Keeps Your Body Braced for Danger08 Jun 202600:22:37

Episode:

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, Dennis explores the truth about tension and why anxiety can keep the body braced for danger long after the original threat has passed.

For many anxiety sufferers, tension is not just a tight jaw, stiff shoulders, chest tightness, muscle aches, or a restless body. It can feel like the body is constantly preparing for something bad to happen. The nervous system becomes so used to protecting, guarding, and anticipating danger that relaxation can almost feel unfamiliar or even unsafe.

This episode looks at the deeper connection between anxiety, chronic tension, nervous system dysregulation, and the protective patterns that keep the body locked in survival mode. Rather than seeing tension as something to fight, fear, or urgently fix, Dennis shares a calmer way to understand it as a message from a body that has been trying to keep you safe.

You'll learn why tension can continue even when you're mentally trying to relax, why the body often needs repeated safety signals before it softens, and how anxiety recovery becomes less about forcing the body to calm down and more about teaching it that it no longer needs to stay braced.

This episode is for anyone who experiences anxiety symptoms such as muscle tension, chest tightness, jaw clenching, shallow breathing, body scanning, exhaustion, or the feeling of being constantly "on edge."

The truth is, your tension is not proof that something is wrong with you. It may simply be proof that your nervous system has been working overtime to protect you.

Today, we begin softening that pattern with understanding, patience, and a new relationship to the body.

The Anxiety Guy Podcast is about anxiety recovery, nervous system healing, health anxiety, emotional healing, and finding inner peace beyond fear.

Episode: The Shame of Dealing With Anxiety

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, we talk about the shame that often comes with anxiety. This is the shame of struggling in front of family, friends, partners, or people who simply do not understand what anxiety really feels like.

Shame can make anxiety feel heavier than it already is.

It can make us hide, over explain, pretend we are fine, or push ourselves to recover faster just so no one sees the struggle. But anxiety is not a character flaw. Anxiety is not weakness. Anxiety is often a nervous system that has learned to protect, brace, scan, and prepare for danger.

In this anxiety guy podcast episode, Dennis shares how to soften shame, stop judging the anxiety response, and begin meeting yourself with more compassion. Healing does not begin with more pressure. Sometimes the most powerful message you can give your body is, "I am not falling apart. I am learning to feel safe again."

The Hidden Cause of Anxiety Exhaustion25 May 202600:12:58

Start your anxiety recovery today at anxietyguyprograms.com. Science backed programs designed to help you heal anxiety and regulate your nervous system for good.

Episode: Helping Your Body Feel Safe Again

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, we explore the hidden cause of anxiety exhaustion and why the body can stay tense, tired, and alert even when life looks calm on the outside.

Anxiety exhaustion often begins when we start living under the guidance of fear instead of trust.

Over time, the inner protector becomes the loudest voice in the mind. It convinces us to be careful with our energy, careful with our symptoms, careful with our emotions, careful with uncertainty, and careful with life itself.

That constant carefulness is what drains the body.

The nervous system never fully receives the message that it can soften because there is always something else to monitor, prepare for, or brace against.

This is why many people feel tired even after resting. The body may be still, but inside there is tension, anticipation, analysis, and resistance happening almost nonstop.

In today's episode, Dennis shares how healing begins when we stop forcing recovery and start creating a safer inner environment.

You'll learn why stillness in the face of discomfort, more trust in your ability to heal, and slowing down when urgency takes over can help the nervous system begin to settle.

This episode is about helping your body feel safe again, not through pressure or constant fixing, but through a more compassionate relationship with your nervous system.

The Missing Step in Your Anxiety Recovery: Completing the Stress Response18 May 202600:17:55

Start your anxiety recovery today at anxietyguyprograms.com. Science backed programs designed to help you heal anxiety and regulate your nervous system for good.

Episode: Helping Your Body Feel Safe Again

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, we explore what it really means to complete the stress response and why so many anxiety sufferers feel stuck in a body that still believes danger is present, even when life appears calm on the outside.

For many people struggling with anxiety, the mind keeps scanning, the body stays tense, symptoms feel louder, and rest can feel strangely uncomfortable. This is often not because the body is falling apart but because the nervous system has learned to stay prepared for threat.

Dennis Simsek breaks this down in a practical, grounded way, helping you understand how the body can begin moving out of survival mode and back into a felt sense of safety.

In today's episode, we explore 3 key points:

  1. How the stress response can become stuck in the body after prolonged anxiety, pressure, or emotional overwhelm.
  2. Why trying to think your way into safety often isn't enough when the body still feels activated.
  3. How gentle movement, emotional expression, breath, presence, and intentional rest can help your system complete what it has been holding.

What you'll take away:

You'll learn how to stop seeing your symptoms as the enemy and begin understanding them as signals from a protective system that is asking for completion, safety, and support.

This episode is about helping your body feel safe again, not through force, pressure, or constant fixing, but through a more compassionate relationship with your nervous system.

Episode: Living Slowly in a Fast World

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, we explore what it really means to slow down in a world that rewards speed, urgency, and constant mental activation. For many people struggling with anxiety, life feels like it's happening too fast to keep up with and the nervous system never gets a chance to settle.

Dennis Simsek breaks this down in a practical, grounded way, helping you understand why slowing down isn't just a lifestyle choice, but a nervous system necessity.

In today's episode, we explore 3 key points:
  • How modern life conditions your nervous system into a state of chronic urgency
  • Why slowing down can initially feel uncomfortable or unsafe in the body
  • How to begin shifting into a slower internal pace without needing external life changes
What you'll take away:

You'll learn how to start stepping out of survival speed living and into a more regulated internal state where calm becomes something you build, not something you wait for.

This episode is about learning to live with life instead of constantly reacting to it.

The Right Way to Handle Anxiety Symptoms (Key Lesson)27 Apr 202600:13:53

Take the guesswork out of your anxiety recovery today at anxietyguyprograms.com.

In this episode, we're diving into one of the most misunderstood parts of anxiety recovery… your body symptoms.

If you've been dealing with heart palpitations, dizziness, chest tightness, fatigue, or that constant feeling that something is "off" in your body, this episode is for you.

Because here's the truth most people miss:

It's not the symptoms themselves that are keeping you stuck… it's how you're responding to them.

For years, I believed my symptoms meant something was seriously wrong. I monitored them, feared them, and tried everything to make them go away.

And that's exactly what kept them alive.

In this episode, I'll show you the right way to respond to anxiety symptoms so your nervous system can finally begin to calm down and heal.

The Hidden Reason Your Anxiety Never Settles (Capacity)20 Apr 202600:15:10

Take the guesswork out of your anxiety recovery today at anxietyguyprograms.com.

In this Anxiety Guy Podcast episode, Dennis Simsek explores a key factor most people overlook in anxiety recovery:

capacity.

Mental, emotional, and physical capacity and how much your nervous system is actually able to hold.

If you've been doing the "right" things but still feel stuck in anxiety, overwhelm, fatigue, panic, or constant tension, this episode helps you see what's happening underneath the surface.

Because when you consistently live above your capacity, your nervous system doesn't read life as stress, it reads it as survival. And anxiety becomes a baseline state rather than a temporary response.

Many people with health anxiety, panic symptoms, burnout, dizziness, chest sensations, adrenaline surges, derealization, and symptom fear try to fix things through more thinking, control, or techniques.

But when the system is overloaded, even good tools can feel ineffective.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • why anxiety persists even with understanding
  • how mental overload creates constant urgency
  • why emotional buildup becomes your baseline
  • how physical overextension signals danger to the body
  • why your nervous system responds to total load, not isolated moments
  • how living below your capacity supports regulation
  • why healing is about reducing pressure, not adding effort

If you're working with anxiety recovery, nervous system regulation, burnout, or symptom fear, this episode gives you a clearer way to understand what's actually driving it.

Why Letting Go Feels Wrong (But Heals Everything)13 Apr 202600:16:51

Take the guesswork out of your anxiety recovery today at anxietyguyprograms.com.

In this Anxiety Guy Podcast episode, Dennis Simsek explores a truth that can feel deeply uncomfortable at first… but ultimately sets you free:

letting go.

If you've ever tried to release control, stop monitoring your symptoms, or "just allow" your anxiety only to feel like you're doing something wrong, this episode will speak directly to you.

Because the truth is, letting go often feels wrong to a nervous system that has been conditioned to survive through control, urgency, and constant effort.

Many people dealing with health anxiety, panic attacks, chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, dizziness, chest sensations, fatigue, derealization, adrenaline surges, and symptom fear believe they must stay alert, fix every feeling, and prepare for the worst just to feel safe.

But this constant inner effort can actually keep the body stuck in protection mode.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • why letting go feels so uncomfortable (and even unsafe at first)
  • how control and over-efforting quietly reinforce anxiety
  • why your nervous system interprets surrender as a new and unfamiliar signal
  • how allowing sensations without resistance begins to break the cycle
  • why healing doesn't come from forcing calm, but from removing pressure
  • what it truly means to take the leap of faith in your recovery
  • why the moment you stop fighting may be the moment everything begins to change

If you've been searching for answers around anxiety recovery, health anxiety, panic symptoms, nervous system healing, emotional exhaustion, symptom fear, and learning how to trust your body again, this episode is for you.

Many people dealing with health anxiety, panic attacks, chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, dizziness, chest sensations, fatigue, derealization, adrenaline surges, and symptom fear believe they must always do something to feel better. Perfectionism, People Pleasing, and Guilt: The 3 Hidden Causes of Anxiety26 Jan 202600:14:12

If you're ready for structured daily guidance to help you retrain the anxiety loop and respond to fear differently, visit anxietyguyprograms.com to find the program that fits what you're going through right now.

✨ Today's Episode:

In today's episode, I'm breaking down three hidden patterns that quietly keep anxiety alive in the background of your life: perfectionism, people-pleasing, and guilt.

These aren't just "bad habits." For many people, they're early survival strategies your nervous system learned to stay safe, stay connected, and avoid rejection. The problem is that what once helped you cope can now keep your body stuck in hypervigilance, tension, and overthinking.

You'll learn how perfectionism trains your system to believe it's never safe to rest, how people-pleasing keeps you scanning others for approval, and how guilt becomes an invisible leash that pulls you back into overdoing and self-abandonment. Most importantly, I'll give you simple, practical ways to start putting these weights down without creating more fear or pressure.

✨ Today's Episode:

When Healing Becomes Another Form of Strain

For many people living with anxiety, stress overload has been familiar for a long time. It may have even felt protective. Productive. Necessary.

So when healing begins, it's common to bring that same energy into recovery itself.

Trying harder. Doing more inner work. Monitoring progress. Pushing through discomfort. Constantly asking, "Am I better yet?"

But what if that familiar stress response, the one that once helped you survive, is now quietly keeping the nervous system stuck in alert?

This episode explores how anxiety recovery can unintentionally turn into another form of suffering when it's approached from the same identity that created the urgency in the first place.

Today's Episode:

Short term memory changes are common during anxiety and burnout, yet they can feel unsettling when they show up. In this episode, Dennis Simsek explains why memory often feels unreliable when the nervous system is living in survival mode and how this is a natural response to prolonged stress rather than a sign that something is wrong.

You will learn how anxiety shifts the brain's priorities, why effort and mental checking tend to increase symptoms, and how clarity returns through safety instead of force. Dennis also shares a gentle, practical approach through surrender, including how to use the Surrender Sessions on The Anxiety Guy YouTube channel to support nervous system regulation.

This episode is especially helpful for those experiencing health anxiety, brain fog, or mental exhaustion and looking for reassurance and a calmer path back to presence.

✨ Today's Episode:

There's a quiet fear many people carry while healing from anxiety: Am I wasting time?
Time spent resting, slowing down, feeling uncomfortable, and not "moving forward" the way others seem to be.

In this episode, I want to gently remind you of something important, healing anxiety is not wasted time.

The most meaningful changes don't come from what happens outside of you, but from what slowly shifts on the inside. You begin learning how to stay with discomfort without trying to escape it, how to meet uncertainty without panic, and how to move through life with more respect for your nervous system instead of constant self-judgment.

As healing unfolds, you don't return to life the same way you left it. You come back with a different perspective, one that's less pulled into catastrophe, comparison, and fear, and more aligned with the beauty that already exists around you. A quieter clarity begins to emerge.

If you've been feeling behind, discouraged, or unsure whether this work is worth it, this episode is a reminder that something real is taking place. Nothing is wrong with you. This process is meaningful. And none of it is wasted.

The 5 Foundations of Nervous System Regulation for Anxiety Recovery22 Dec 202500:20:09

🎓 Start Here:  Ready for step-by-step clarity, not confusion? Heal your anxiety through daily guidance and nervous system retraining → Click Here

✨ Today's Episode:

In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast, we explore the 5 foundations of nervous system regulation for anxiety recovery, the deeper principles that allow anxiety symptoms to soften naturally over time.

Many people try to heal anxiety by forcing calm, fixing symptoms, or constantly monitoring their progress. But true anxiety recovery happens when the nervous system no longer feels pressured, observed, or judged. Regulation comes from safety, consistency, and how you relate to your inner experience, not from urgency or control.

In this episode, you'll learn how nervous system regulation supports anxiety recovery at a biological and emotional level, why many common anxiety techniques keep the body stuck in survival mode, and how these five foundations gently teach the brain that it no longer needs to stay on high alert.

This conversation is especially helpful if you experience persistent anxiety symptoms, health anxiety, panic sensations, chronic stress, burnout, or nervous system dysregulation and feel exhausted from "trying to fix yourself."

This episode offers a grounded, compassionate path toward anxiety recovery by working with your nervous system instead of against it.

✅ Key Takeaways:

  • Anxiety eases when the nervous system feels safe, not when you try to control symptoms.

  • Consistency and predictability calm the body more than intensity or urgency.

  • Healing happens through how you relate to your experience, not how quickly you try to change it.

How Your Inner Sense of Self Shapes Anxiety (and Safety)08 Dec 202500:28:34

🎓 Start Here: The 12-Week Health Anxiety Recovery Program
Ready for step-by-step clarity, not confusion? Heal through daily guidance and nervous system retraining → Click Here

✨ Today's Episode:

In this episode, we explore one of the most overlooked roots of anxiety: the quiet inner sense of self shaping how you interpret the world, your symptoms, and your safety. Beneath the thoughts, behaviors, and coping strategies lives a deeper structure, your inner story, your learned roles, and the meanings your nervous system has been carrying for years.

Drawing from the NLP logical levels of belief, we unpack how purpose, self-perception, beliefs, capabilities, and environment all interact to create either anxiety or a felt sense of safety. You'll learn why anxiety often persists even when you're "doing everything right," and how subtle internal shifts can create profound emotional and physiological regulation.

This episode is gentle, relatable, and deeply practical. Together we explore how old identities formed through fear, survival, and past experiences keep the body in protection mode—and how rebuilding a more flexible, compassionate inner sense of self opens the door to real healing.

If you've ever felt stuck in anxiety despite all your tools and knowledge, this conversation will help you understand the true root and give you a clearer path forward, one that begins not with effort, but with awareness, permission, and self-redefinition.

✅ Key Takeaways:

  • Your deeper sense of self, not your thoughts or symptoms is what most strongly influences whether your nervous system feels safe or threatened.

  • Long-held identities built around fear, control, or protection can keep anxiety patterns active even when you're trying to heal.

  • Shifting your inner narrative toward flexibility, compassion, and possibility creates lasting physiological regulation and emotional clarity.

7 Secrets to Eliminating Chronic Stress For Good24 Nov 202500:18:37

🎓 Start Here: The 12-Week Health Anxiety Recovery Program
Ready for step-by-step clarity, not confusion? Heal through daily guidance and nervous system retraining → Click Here

✨ Today's Episode:

In this powerful and deeply human episode, Dennis dives into the real reason chronic stress never seems to let go, and the exact nervous-system principles that finally melt it at the root. This isn't another episode about "managing" stress or trying harder to relax. Instead, Dennis breaks down the seven most important shifts he discovered through his own recovery and through working with thousands of anxiety sufferers around the world.

You'll learn why living at 95–100% of your capacity keeps your system stuck in survival mode, how tiny 3–5 second "micro-drop" moments create real nervous-system safety, why your evenings matter more than your mornings, and how identity, not willpower shapes your stress baseline.

This anxiety guy podcast episode is slow, grounding, and designed to speak directly to your body, not just your mind. If you've been feeling tired-but-wired, constantly bracing, or unable to relax without forcing yourself… this is the episode you've been waiting for.

✅ Key Takeaways:

  • Chronic stress drops when you intentionally live 20–30% below your capacity, giving your nervous system the space it needs to stop bracing and finally reset.

  • Micro-drop moments repeated throughout the day create real safety, teaching your system to downshift through tiny cues rather than big, forced routines.

  • Your identity determines your baseline, and shifting from "stressed person" to "safe person" rewires the nervous system so calm becomes the default instead of the exception.

✨ Today's Episode:

Today we're talking about why anxiety healing often becomes overwhelming, not because you're doing too little, but because you're doing too much. From breathwork to supplements to endless techniques, the nervous system becomes overloaded with "fixing," which keeps it stuck in fear. In this episode, I guide you back to one simple, consistent anchor: watching the natural breath as it unfolds. No controlling, no performing, just returning. This is how you rebuild trust, regulation, and internal safety.

✅ Key Takeaways:

• Most anxiety sufferers aren't under-supported, they're over-stimulated.
• Too many healing tools confuse the mind and keep the nervous system on high alert.
• Simplicity creates familiarity, and familiarity creates safety.
