Frequency: 1 episode/16d. Total Eps: 85

Real talk from two ADHD mums in the thick of parenting, chaos, and clutter. Gen and Claire share honest highs and lows of neuro-divergent life. We are Mums, but you don't have to be to listen!
We share real, unfiltered stories about parenting, neurodivergence, and daily struggles like executive dysfunction, disorganisation, overstimulation, and Mum guilt. We also celebrate the wins—big or small—with honesty and laughter.
We're both AFAB and biological mums, but this space is for all parents, ADHDers, curious minds, and —even your pets. Everyone’s welcome.
We do swear though, so you probably need headphones if there's kids around!

Season 1 · Episode 17
lundi 13 novembre 2023 • Duration 48:15
Ever wondered how ADHD affects women juggling a career, parenting, and daily life struggles? Tune in as we are joined by our guest Mellanie, to hear her personal journey of dealing with ADHD in the workplace. Still coming to terms with her late diagnosis, she describes the constant fight to fit into a world that seems so effortlessly managed by others, and the challenges of making a mark in the corporate setup.
She shares how transitioning from office spaces to working from home has significantly affected her productivity and mental health. Mellanie, with her fascinating insights, leads the conversation about the intriguing world of network marketing and how its particular challenges seem tailor-made for people living with ADHD.
She then turns the spotlight on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and its incredible impact on her mental health. We rage over how many individuals are denied medical assistance for peri-menopause symptoms purely based on their age, and throw light on the detrimental effects of menopause on a woman's career, especially when they are at its height. So sit tight, fasten your seatbelts, and get ready for an enlightening, emotional, and humorous journey into the world of ADHD, work, and women's health.

Addressing the Invisible: Women's Fight for ADHD Diagnosis
Season 1 · Episode 7
mercredi 20 septembre 2023 • Duration 01:06:40
Have you sought diagnosis for ADHD, only to feel completely overwhelmed by the UK's labyrinthine diagnosis pathways? Well, we've been there, felt that, and today we are attempting to break it down a little for you.
Remember the time when you assumed your GP was the only hurdle between you and your ADHD diagnosis? We dive into the gatekeeper role of GPs and the impact of limited resources on the accessibility of the whole process.
Post-Brexit Tory Britain... Don't get us started!
We explore the options, including new 24/7 service Babylon GP (which we thought was NHS funded, but are now not so sure!), Individual Funding Requests, and the Right To Choose option for ADHD assessments. We mourn the state of affairs, with lengthy waits, and the potential price range for private diagnosis. We challenge the myth of over-diagnosis, and highlight the vital role of being an informed patient.
We throw light on the uphill battle of women in their quest for an ADHD diagnosis and the unwanted stigma fuelled by the media. We share compelling stories of those who embarked on private diagnosis journeys, and their fight to access treatment and medication.
Stay tuned for the final episode of Diagnosis month, next week, when we will be in conversation with Rosie Gill Moss, of Widowed AF podcast.
Further TW: This podcast references at times: alcohol abuse, depression, mood disorders, medical emergency, miscarriage, traffic accidents, grief and loss, teen pregnancy, anxiety, abuse, PDA, low self esteem, and anti-depressant medications, disordered eating, hoarding...

Diagnosis - Controversies and consequences
Season 1 · Episode 5
lundi 4 septembre 2023 • Duration 52:00
This episode marks the start of ADHD MUMS Diagnosis month.
Seeking diagnosis is too often a rollercoaster ride, a reeeeeeally painfully slow one! Navigating the complications of ADHD diagnosis while balancing the challenges of modern motherhood, that's extra!
In this week's Highs And Lows Of The Week we reflect on the ending of the summer holidays, from the challenges of travel with kids, to the kindness of strangers, and the stresses of the transition to high school.
We then map our own paths to ADHD diagnosis, and discuss the controversial Panorama documentary titled 'Private ADHD Clinics Exposed', which aired the day of Claire's assessment! We share our thoughts and feelings about the documentary, its potential impact on public opinion, and its unsettling influence on the mindset of people awaiting an ADHD diagnosis. We don't shy away from the hard questions, pondering whether private clinics have a financial motivation to over-diagnose, and the ripple effects this could have on patients seeking help.
Stay tuned gang, we are just getting started! From discussions about our personal highs and lows to more in-depth conversations about ADHD and parenting issues, we can't wait to continue learning, growing, and laughing together.

Access to Work - A system set to help?
Season 1 · Episode 15
lundi 6 novembre 2023 • Duration 30:45
Navigating the workplace can be a minefield, especially when you are living with a disability. But imagine if you had a tool in your arsenal that could provide up to £63,000 per year to help you stay in or return to work?
Well, the UK government's Access to Work scheme apparently does just that.
We talk through through the many ways this fund can potentially be a game-changer for you, from covering your travel expenses to securing a job coach. However, we also highlight some of the stumbling blocks along the way, such as the challenge of finding a coach and the intricate system navigation, particularly if you've been working from home.
The second half of our conversation zeroes in on the hoops and hurdles of sourcing the best resources under the Access to Work scheme - ADHD MUMS listener, Sarah, tells us her experience of Access To Work so far; an endless paper trail, a search for the right equipment and support for ADHD, and getting into debt with family.
