We also discuss a couple more new films we’ve seen recently as Mike checked out Immaculate and Matt dove into Love Lies Bleeding. There’s also another new horror film on Shudder which we hope to get to very soon so stay tuned!

#SHB374 - Best of 2023 Special01 Jan 202403:07:39

This is it. The big one. After many outside factors trying to take us down throughout most of December; we are finally here to chat about the year that was 2023. Certainly a year filled with highs and lows. The main event as always is our top ten where we rank and order the best horror films this year had to offer. We then give out our individual awards such as Best Death and see just how much TV dominated this year. And ending the show we have a big announcement regarding the future of this very podcast. Thank you for listening once again and we hope you enjoy this big finale podcast. For now…

#SHB365 - Saw X04 Oct 202301:28:10

You already know the drill. We love Saw and have spent so much time debating this franchise over the years on this very show. From the highs of the first 6 films to the lows of the recent films; we’ve really been through the ringer with this one. But we can’t help but keep coming back for more. Can they finally break the curse and make the first truly great Saw film in over a decade? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; the entire Child’s Play franchise is coming to 4K via Arrow Video but with a small caveat. And we get excited for the imminent return of Mike Flanagan.

#SHB275 - Black Friday26 Nov 202101:31:08

With the end of the year in sight we are back with one of the last new horror films we’re covering this year and one that we’ve been wanting to see since it’s announcement last year. A comedy horror centred around the hell that is Black Friday is a perfect premise and with some added Bruce Campbell for good measure surely you can’t mess this up? Check out our verdict now on whether this film can join the ranks of plenty of great horror comedies we’ve seen this year. Elsewhere this week; we chat about loads of other things we’ve seen lately such as Matt going down a deep Hellraiser hole and Mike finally watching Mindhunter. We also continue to adore Chucky every single week and get very excited for the finale.

#SHB274 - Demonic17 Nov 202101:12:10

With just one big cinema horror release left for the year and a few weeks to fill before then; we go back to a film that has been on our backlog for many months. Demonic sees the return of Neil Blomkamp in a much smaller project than we’re used to with this director with a concept that blends sci-fi and horror in a very Black Mirror-esque way. We give our verdict on one of the last films before we send off this year in style. Elsewhere this week; Last Night in Soho is coming to digital services earlier than expected which prompts us to look back on the year for cinema horror and see what’s been the biggest successes and failures at the box office in 2021. Ending the week Mike gives his thoughts on the return of Dexter and we chat all about that crazy last episode of Chucky.

#SHB273 - Antlers10 Nov 202101:06:31

Whilst we’re not ready to fully move on from Last Night in Soho mentally just yet we must as the train keeps rolling on with yet another cinema horror release that actually came out the same day. Antlers has been one of the most heavily delayed genre releases of recent years and has finally hit the big screen and promises some original horror in the form of an emotionally driven creature feature. We dissect this, at times, intentionally depressing film and give our verdict on whether it was worth the long wait or not. Elsewhere this week, Stranger Things finally gets a release window of Summer 2022 and a final teaser. And ending the show we discuss season 3 of Creepshow that has now ended and where we feel the show can go from here.

#SHB272 - Last Night in Soho02 Nov 202101:24:44

Moments like these don’t come long often so it’s time to savour it. One of our favourite directors is making a horror film. That was all we needed to know. And now, after all these years, we’ve seen it and get to talk all about it. We really hope you enjoy this film discussion on a truly unique film. Elsewhere this week; The Northman gets a small delay but is still coming early next year. Chucky continues to terrorise the small screen. And we discuss Part 2 of American Horror Story Double Feature and how we feel about this decade long classic going forward.

#SHB271 - There's Someone Inside Your House27 Oct 202101:08:48

Sandwiched in between big cinema horror releases is another slasher courtesy of Netflix that very much piqued our interest with a great trailer portraying a killer who wears a mask of the face of their victims. There has truly been a resurgence within the slasher sub genre recently and with Scream returning very soon, let’s see how this one can fare within the crowd. Elsewhere this week; Black Friday gets a trailer ahead of its release next month. Megan is Missing finally comes to bluray. And ending the show we give our spoiler free thoughts on a couple of massive non horror films we’ve seen at the cinema in recent weeks.

#SHB270 - Halloween Kills20 Oct 202101:40:39

The Shape is back. After many delays one of the most iconic horror villains is back and ready to cause a bloody mess at the box office. Following on from 2018’s aptly named Halloween; this follow up apparently has lots of kills before it inevitably ends next year. We give our verdict on possibly the biggest horror release of 2021. Elsewhere this week; Mike Flanagan continues to be the busiest man in horror and his next project seems like a dramatic departure. Psycho Goreman could return but we need your help. Rob Zombie seems to be having a great time on his latest project. And ending this week’s show we chat about the long awaited season premiere of Chucky.

#SHB269 - V/H/S/9413 Oct 202101:33:00

Boy do we have a lot to discuss this week. Of course our main course is the return of one of our favourite franchises that got us back into horror prior to starting this podcast. The return of V/H/S is long overdue and we go over whether this injects new life into the series or is another miss like Viral was. Elsewhere this week; we have two of the biggest trailers of the year to discuss as two of our favourite franchises are returning in the coming months. We give our first reactions to both Scream and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. The upcoming Hellraiser film gets some casting news that caused some controversy online over the past week. And ending the show we give our thoughts on the first 6 episodes of American Horror Story Season 10 that has now concluded Part 1: Red Tide.

#SHB268 - Midnight Mass06 Oct 202101:37:53

The biggest horror TV release of the year is here. Mike Flanagan is back and after already featuring on 3 of our year end top 10 lists already and giving us one of the best TV shows of all time in The Haunting of Hill House we couldn’t be anymore excited for his latest venture in the TV space. Midnight Mass is his dream project and after over 10 years of trying to get it made it’s finally here. Let’s hope he can deliver once again. Elsewhere this week; it seems like we’re just days away from the first trailer for Scream which is very exciting. Titane looks to just about make a 2021 release in the UK. And ending the show Matt gives his take on the worldwide phenomenon known as Squid Game and Mike takes a trip to the past with a recent Arrow 4K release.

#SHB267 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (Ranking Wes Craven)29 Sep 202101:18:35

We’d been saving this one for a while but it’s finally time to discuss what is undoubtedly a horror classic. Our Ranking Wes Craven series is about to go up a level as we discuss what still makes A Nightmare on Elm Street one of the most perfect horror films ever made. We also have to place it on our ranking so far and with Scream currently on the top spot this is definitely a case where we have to pick who our favourite child is. Elsewhere this week; Stranger Things gets yet another trailer teasing the arrival of Robert Englund. We end the show by getting very excited for our insane October schedule starting with the biggest TV release of the year next week.

#SHB266 - Profile22 Sep 202100:59:31

A slight change of pace this week as the cinema isn’t offering us any new horror delights for a few weeks so we are tackling our backlog of films on digital services starting with a film that had a super interesting premise and trailer from earlier this year. Profile is the latest ‘screenlife’ film to arrive and after loving other recent films within this subgenre such as Host and Spree we were hoping this thriller could deliver on it’s very unique and timely story. Elsewhere this week; The Lost Boys is seemingly returning to the big screen. Del Toro tells us his next film is NOT a horror film (though the trailer suggests otherwise). Ending the show we did watch a horror classic on the big screen over the past weekend and Mike finally finished watching The Stand.

#SHB364 - No One Will Save You27 Sep 202301:14:49

With an incredibly stacked October on the horizon; we have found a super interesting film to fill the gap until then. No One Will Save You combines home invasions with sci-fi and has a unique twist which no film we have ever covered before has done. Arriving on Hulu in the states and Disney Plus in the uk recently; this is a film you do not want to miss. Elsewhere this week; Smile 2 will be haunting until next Halloween. A new book covering the Firefly Trilogy was just released. And ending the show we give our final temperature check on Saw X and keep things positive that the franchise can finally turn things around.

#SHB265 - Malignant15 Sep 202101:17:10

The last big horror film before Halloween season is upon us and it is the return of one of the best horror directors of the 21st century. James Wan is back and in between making some fishy films he is giving back to the horror community this original concept after already giving us such gifts as Saw and The Conjuring. There is a lot to go over here and we avoid spoilers for as long as possible but the little you know about this film the better. Elsewhere this week; Halloween Kills is arriving on Peacock day and date stateside. Del Toro has a couple of interesting projects coming soon. And ending the show Mike has watched an Arrow Video film that unfortunately isn't a classic and is catching up on some TV from earlier this year.

#SHB264 - Censor08 Sep 202101:03:51

A slow week away from the cinema sees us discuss a British horror film about a topic that we feel very strongly about; censorship. Set during the Video Nasty craze in the UK, this film sparks the fire to ignite an entire conversation surrounding censorship in today’s world and whether there’s even a place for it anymore. We do also talk about the film at some point. Ending the show; Matt rewatched one of the most unsettling films we’ve ever covered back in 2017 and we tell the story of the rather unique cinema experience we had over the weekend.

#SHB263 - Candyman01 Sep 202101:09:32

We’ve waited patiently for this one. Candyman has been one of our most anticipated films since it’s announcement and it’s been a long road to get here but we’ve finally seen it. Let’s unpack everything from this sequel from Candyman mythology to modernising a horror classic. This year really has picked up massively in the last few weeks so here’s hoping this is another film we’ll be talking about come year end. Elsewhere this week; Krampus gets a new cut on 4K. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is coming to Netflix. And ending the show we ponder if James Wan’s new film Malignant is flying under the radar so far and debate spoilers in trailers.

#SHB262 - The Night House25 Aug 202101:16:21

Continuing the summer of cinema horror is the return of David Bruckner who has featured quite a bit on this show already through his work on Creepshow, Southbound and The Ritual. The Night House looks to scare the pants off us whilst also portraying an interesting story with some genuine emotion sprinkled in there for good measure. Elsewhere this week; a new docuseries is coming to Shudder that focuses on the classic horror icons. V/H/S/94 gets a release date. And we end the show by rounding up our thoughts on the first season of American Horror Stories, Matt has continued his journey through David Cronenberg’s filmography and we both get very excited for Candyman next week.

#SHB261 - Don't Breathe 218 Aug 202101:16:47

Back in the cinema where we belong for the follow up to our number one film of 2016; Don’t Breathe 2. We’ve been pretty nervous about this one since it’s initial announcement as the original is a perfect film that didn’t need a sequel but we also felt the same way about A Quiet Place and we all know how that turned out. Can this sequel surprise us after a not so great trailer just like Old did? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; American Horror Stories gets renewed for another season and we hope the series can turn it around. And ending the show we chat about a couple of sci-fi films Matt watched for the first time in the past week in anticipation of the upcoming release of Dune.

#SHB260 - Fear Street Part Three: 166611 Aug 202100:58:54

It’s time to end this. All trilogies must inevitably end with a part three that hopefully serves as both a satisfying conclusion to the overall story as well as being a good standalone entry in it’s own right. Fear Street’s final part takes us all the way back to 1666 with the true origin of Sarah Fier as well as finally tie up the story we are still waiting to see conclude in 1994. We give our verdict on this final chapter and the trilogy overall in what is certainly one of the most interesting horror releases of 2021. Elsewhere this week; Stranger Things sadly won’t be making this year. Mike Flanagan returns with Midnight Mass next month. A whole bunch of horror classics are coming to 4K for the first time. And ending this week we give our thoughts on American Horror Stories so far ahead of AHS: Double Feature coming just around the corner.

#SHB259 - Escape Room: Tournament of Champions04 Aug 202101:08:29

Completing this recent trifecta of cinema horror films is a sequel to 2019’s Escape Room that  was pretty forgettable to say the least. Can this second entry better the first and leave the franchise with some level of excitement or go out with a whimper? We give our verdict and discuss why Escape Rooms are so damn fun. Elsewhere this week; Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series gets a release date and we officially begin the long hype train for next year. Lamb gets a mental trailer that gets very mixed feelings from us. David Cronenberg’s next film begins shooting. And finally we chat spoiler free about the big, bloody and bold new film from James Gunn we saw over the weekend.

#SHB258 - Old28 Jul 202101:19:24

For our summer vacation we are taking a trip to the beach with the latest adventure from M. Night Shyamalan after his massive return to form over recent years. But after a fairly uninspiring trailer; here’s hoping the film over-delivers on it’s simple premise and gives us another great sci-fi horror film to sink our teeth into. Elsewhere this week; on perhaps our longest news section ever, we have a ton of new trailers to go over including Malignant, Chucky and Demonic. Jordan Peele’s next horror film gets a poster which provides us with plenty of small details to obsess over. The third season of the brilliant Creepshow gets a premiere date. And Army of the Dead gets a confirmed sequel.

#SHB257 - The Forever Purge21 Jul 202101:06:02

The cinema is back. After a few weeks away from the big screen with Netflix keeping up busy with some great releases; it is time to return to our rightful home. Nothing beats cinema horror and hopefully The Forever Purge is more A Quiet Place Part II than it is Spiral. We’ve covered this franchise across film and TV for the last 5 years and we go in depth on the franchise overall as well as give our verdict on this latest entry. Elsewhere this week; Matt gets excited for Titane, the follow up from the director of Raw scheduled for release later this year. And ending the show we have a long overdue extended conversation on all things MCU after having such a great time watching Black Widow on the big screen and Loki at home.

#SHB256 - Fear Street Part Two: 197814 Jul 202101:15:48

The middle part of the trilogy. Sometimes where you can let loose and have fun and not have to worry about setting things up too much or making sure you deliver a satisfying payoff. But also can be the least interesting part of the story and contain lots of filler. How will this middle chapter hold up? We give our verdict on Part Two: 1978 after the Fear Street trilogy kicked off to a great start last week. Elsewhere on the show; FrightFest 2021 announces it’s first 25 films and we highlight a few to look out for. And we also look ahead once again to a return to the cinema and potentially the next month of horror on the big screen.

#SHB363 - The Blackening20 Sep 202301:16:46

After a good time last week talking about some classic Craven we are back to find hopefully some new horror worth talking about. The Blackening wasn’t on our radar until we saw a very funny trailer and knew this was something we should watch. Does the humour translate to the whole film and more importantly just how much horror is in this one? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; the return of Chucky is imminent but it does have a disappointing release schedule. And ending the show Matt finished his recent rewatch of LOST and discusses whether it’s his favourite thing of all time.

#SHB255 - Fear Street Part One: 199407 Jul 202101:17:26
Kicking off a brand new horror trilogy on Netflix we are excited to discuss Part One: 1994 which looks to evoke one of our all time favourite horror films with plenty of nice homages. Can this first entry both successfully set up the next installments and also be a great film in it’s own right? We give our verdict now on certainly one of the most uniques horror releases of the year. Elsewhere this week; Don’t Breathe 2 finally gets a trailer which generates some strong feelings for us that sadly aren’t good ones. The first 5 Halloween films are coming to 4K (in the US). And ending the show of course Matt has even more Cronenberg delights to re-evaluate as a new found fanboy.

#SHB254 - Swamp Thing (Ranking Wes Craven)30 Jun 202101:05:47

After a fantastic run of new horror films (finally), we have decided to return to our ongoing Ranking Wes Craven series before getting back to business in a very busy looking July. This week is the first Wes Craven film we’ve discussed that neither of us has ever seen before. What did we make of our first time viewing of Swamp Thing in 2021 and did we overlook this film for so long or made a wise choice to avoid it? We give our verdict on definitely the most bizarre Craven film we’ve covered so far. Elsewhere this week; Halloween Kills finally gets a proper trailer and boy does Michael do some killing in this one. Arrow Video announce a fantastic upcoming box set. And ending the show Matt continues his quest for personal Cronenberg redemption; this time discussing Videodrome.

#SHB253 - One Cut of the Dead in Hollywood23 Jun 202101:04:53
What a film we have to talk about this week. Coming completely out of nowhere is a surprise sequel to one of our favourite films we’ve ever covered; One Cut of the Dead. This new bluray release comes with the new ‘in Hollywood’ sequel which sees the cast and crew return to recreate the magic of the original film. We go over everything from sleeping in coffins to authentic American diners and give our verdict on this stealth release that seems to have completely gone under the radar. Elsewhere this week; V/H/S/94 is coming to Shudder later this year. Scream is seemingly coming to 4K. And ending the show Matt delivers on his promise to give Cronenberg another chance by discussing Scanners and finally watches a sequel to an all time classic he’s avoided his whole life.

#SHB252 - Army of the Dead16 Jun 202101:21:47

After a much needed run of cinema releases that we’ve so desperately craved for so long; we are back to digital releases but with one that we’ve been dying to see. Zack Snyder’s long awaited return to the zombie genre is here and we really hope it’s as good as the last time he was here. We go over everything from Zombie tigers, Dave Bautista is an apron and some bizarre lens choices. Elsewhere this week; A Quiet Place Part 2 continues to make a lot of money which makes us happy. Locke & Key returns later this year. And finally we discuss ‘comfort food’ films and why we watch the same films over and over again instead of trying new stuff.

#SHB251 - The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It09 Jun 202101:30:11

Ending our current cinema run for a few weeks is another sequel in a franchise that has brought us many highs and many lows to date. The Conjuring 2 was one of the first big cinema horror films we covered for the show back in 2016 and still one of our favourites. Will the lack of James Wan in the director’s chair not be as missed with the proper return of the Warrens on screen? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Rob Zombie’s next film is official and the rumours were true. The A Quiet Place spin off (not Part 3) gets a release date. Horror is killing it at the box office. And ending the show Matt discusses a recently revived director’s cut of an extremely overlooked Clive Barker film.

We’re celebrating our 250th show in style. Finally. After all the months waiting. All the delays. All the times we’ve had to avoid the trailer in cinemas. We have finally seen A Quiet Place Part II. But is it any good? After last week we really needed this to be a win for horror fans. We give our verdict on the sequel to our 2018 film of the year. Elsewhere this week; the next Evil Dead is seemingly skipping cinemas in some territories which has us worried. The full trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Old is here and we have a lot of questions. And we get excited for another trip to the cinema next week for The Conjuring!

#SHB249 - Spiral: From the Book of Saw26 May 202101:12:30

The big one has finally arrived! After waiting for over a year our return to the cinema just so happens to be with a film we’ve been dying to see from the moment the first trailer dropped. So many questions are about to be answered regarding Chris Rock as a serious actor, Darren Lynn Bousman returning to the franchise that made him, a Saw film without Jigsaw etc. But most importantly, is it any good? Trust me; you won’t want to miss this show. Elsewhere this week; the best trailer of the year just dropped and we are now all aboard the hype train for Last Night in Soho. The Fear Street trilogy gets confirmed for a July release. And ending the show Matt watched a new film from a favourite modern director of his and Mike watched a classic for the first time that didn’t meet his expectations.

#SHB248 - The Woman in the Window19 May 202101:26:53

Before we return to the cinema next week for one of our most anticipated films; this week sees a digital release of a film we also wanted to see on the big screen last year. After a fantastic trailer and a stellar cast; we hoped this film would deliver us a nail biting thriller. Did Netflix pick up a gem? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Courtney Cox has some interesting things to say about the upcoming Scream. Loads of upcoming horror TV gets dated. Spiral is in the middle of a cinema controversy in the UK. Ending the show Matt gives his thoughts on another 80’s horror he watched for the first time courtesy of Arrow and we once again heap tons of praise on the impeccable Resident Evil Village.

#SHB247 - Sound of Violence12 May 202100:58:16

After taking a much needed break from new horror to discuss some great TV and of course more Craven we have returned back to our mainstay of covering all the new releases that catch our eye. With the cinema and big horror releases just around the corner; this week sees us discuss a smaller film which still definitely deserves your attention. With an awesome premise and an even better title we were excited to check this one out and give you our verdict on if you should seek it out or not. Elsewhere this week; FrightFest returns in August. In Search of Darkness looks to finish the trilogy. Faces of Death makes an unexpected return in the news. And ending the show we give you our first impressions of Resident Evil Village and whether or not the series has continued its recent amazing run of games.

#SHB246 - Deadly Blessing (Ranking Wes Craven)05 May 202101:23:20

A first for our Ranking Wes Craven series so far as this week we discuss a film one of us has never seen before. Deadly Blessing serves an interesting point in the career of Craven as it comes after his early cult hits but still before he hit the big time with his massive films in the mid 80’s. Is this an underrated gem or best forgotten far behind the great man’s other films? Let's find out. Elsewhere this week; an unfinished zombie film from the king of the genre himself George A. Romero might see the light of day in the near future. We get very excited for NINE new films coming out over the next month that we’re interested in seeing. Ending the show Matt gushes about one of the best Arrow restorations he’s seen to date and we give our final thoughts on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

#SHB362 - My Soul to Take (Ranking Wes Craven)13 Sep 202301:25:46

Over 3 years ago we started ranking all of Wes Craven’s horror films. And now it’s finally over. My Soul to Take is the last film to add to the list and unless we add on his TV films; our ranking will be complete. It’s been a long road with many highs and a few lows discussing our favourite director’s entire catalogue and we couldn't be happier to have spent so long celebrating this legend’s career. Where will this final film end up? Let’s find out. Elsewhere this week; Thanksgiving becomes even more real with a new teaser. The revival of Goosebumps sounds promising. And ending the show we chat about one of the most authentic horror films ever made.

#SHB245 - Creepshow Season 2 (Ep2-5)28 Apr 202101:27:42

After having so much fun discussing the Season 2 premiere episode of Creepshow a few weeks back we decided it's only right we return to discuss the rest of this eagerly anticipated season. We go over the remaining 7 segments and give our thoughts on them all, pick our fav 3 from all 9 from Season 2 and rate overall how this season compared to the previous season and specials. We always have a great time chatting about this show and we hope you enjoyed the season as much as we did. Elsewhere this week; The Conjuring 3 gets a trailer just a month before it’s release. Saw continues to be in the news and might be coming to the small screen in the future. Ending the show we react to a listener review of Mortal Kombat and our favourite film of 2021 so far makes it’s weekly appearance once again.

#SHB244 - The Hills Have Eyes (Ranking Wes Craven)21 Apr 202101:31:37

After we had so much fun talking about Wes Craven recently and having a bad experience with on demand horror last week we decided to continue our ongoing series as we work our way through the great man’s entire horror filmography, break down the good and the bad and ultimately rank all the films. This franchise was seminal for us as young horror fans (especially the sequel which we’ll get to at a later date) and we go over everything from amazing dog actors to the stunning finale that leaves us breathless every time. Elsewhere this week; Scream (5) follows the franchise tradition of multiple endings and scripts and Rob Zombie’s next project seems even more likely.

#SHB243 - Honeydew14 Apr 202101:12:14

With our return to the cinema getting ever closer we are yet again at the mercy of new, on demand horror to fill our weeks with joy. And that’s what we hoped Honeydew would do. Did it? You’ll have to listen to find out our maybe controversial opinion on this one. Elsewhere this week; Chucky gets even more amazing cast announcements. Saw 10 goes into production before we’ve even seen Spiral. Psycho Goreman has a release date on our favourite streaming service. And to end the show we finally catch up on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and have been pretty frustrated with the direction they’ve gone recently.

#SHB242 - Godzilla vs Kong07 Apr 202101:04:26

We are back with a massive hollywood blockbuster to discuss; that we sadly watched at home. Cinemas are still closed in the UK so the biggest fight between two monsters ever just had to be experienced not on the big screen for us. We discuss everything from on demand premium prices, miscast actors and epic Kaiju fighting. Elsewhere this week; Netflix acquires the rights to the Knives Out franchise. Saw is coming to 4K. A bunch of trailers dropped recently we give our thoughts on. And ending the show Matt rewatches a film he didn’t like initially by one of his favourite directors to see if he changes his mind or not.

#SHB241 - The Last House on the Left (Ranking Wes Craven)31 Mar 202101:26:43

Last year we did 4 retrospective shows on the Scream films and had a great time. So much so that we also wanted to occasionally look back on other Wes Craven films and rank them as we go every so often when we have a quiet week until we eventually have SHB’s definitive Ranking Wes Craven list of all his films from top to bottom. Well now we are back and going straight back to the start. The Last House on the Left is one of the most impactful and important horror films ever made and we dissect everything from it’s crazy censorship in the UK to the most zany cop characters we’ve ever seen in a film. Elsewhere this week; we react to the brand new trailer for Spiral:From the Book of Saw and get extremely excited for cinemas to return with this film. Evan Peters is playing a serial killer in an upcoming Netflix show as part of a worrying trend. And lastly we thank all the amazing bluray companies out there who restore so many great films every year.

One of our favourite TV shows is back. After two epic specials recently; Creepshow is back for a fully fledged second season and we couldn’t be happier. Ahead of it’s premiere we discuss the first two segments which offer us completely different styles of Creepshow stories and we can’t wait to discuss the rest of the season in the coming weeks. Elsewhere this week; American Horror Story’s upcoming season gets a name. The upcoming Resident Evil film we are dying to see a trailer for also gets a new title. Ari Aster is taking his talents to TV. And of course we end with a little bit of chat about a certain Disney Plus show from the past week.

Killer as in murderous blood thirsty rampaging jeans. This is gonna be a fun one. Elsewhere this week; we go in depth of what might be next for Rob Zombie in the film world. Mike Flanagan’s next production gets underway. And a voicemail gets us talking about the merit of a “negative” review.

#SHB238 - Lucky10 Mar 202101:13:52

Shudder continues to fill the void that no cinema releases has left us as we go back to the service that continues to get better and better over the last few years. Lucky promises a cool premise of a killer attacking the same woman every single night in a time loop reminiscent of Happy Death Day. Always down for a good slasher we give our verdict on if this film is another great addition for the amazing Shudder or one to skip over. Elsewhere this week; in perhaps the best news all year A Quiet Place Part 2 gets brought forward 4 months and we really hope we can get hyped this time. Chucky gets a casting update. Ending the show Matt discusses a 90’s fantasy horror he enjoyed in the past week, Mike revisits a SHB classic and we both give our thoughts on the finale of Wandavision.

Arrow Video acquires yet another banger for a 4K release later this year. #SHB234 - Promising Young Woman10 Feb 202101:13:11

On demand services this week give us a film that was actually a theatrical release in 2020 that we did want to see. The trailer for Promising Young Woman featured ahead of a few theatrical horrors and looked really ‘promising’. But did the film deliver? Is it even a horror film? All this and more shall be answered. Elsewhere this week, Resident Evil’s big return to the cinema gets a date. Old doesn’t leave the best first impression. And ending the show we continue to be blown away by this streak Disney + is currently on.
