The Identity Bitch Slap
mardi 29 juillet 2025 • Duration 35:19
Episode 1:
Mother Messiah: The Identity Bitch Slap
They say everything changes when you become a mother.
When you're not a mother, you kind of roll your eyes (and hope its not true) at that statement - at least I did. Motherhood was one of those things I thought I might experience in my lifetime, but never put too much weight into.
Welcome to the very first episode of Style Like a Mother🎉This episode is all about the wild ride called motherhood and how it completely flips your identity upside down. I call it the “identity bitch slap” because, it’s not just a shift, it’s a full-on slap. But guess what? It’s a slap that can lead to something beautiful, exciting, and totally new.
Here’s What We Talked About:
- The DM That Started It All: I opened Instagram and got the most perfect DM from someone asking if motherhood is as scary as people say. That question hit me hard and inspired this podcast. Spoiler: Yes, motherhood changes everything, but it doesn’t have to be terrifying.
- My Journey to Motherhood: I share my story of becoming a mom at 44—how I went from thinking motherhood wasn’t for me to accidentally getting pregnant and realizing it was the best thing that ever happened.
- The Identity Bitch Slap: Motherhood isn’t just an identity shift—it’s a slap. Your body changes, your style changes, your relationships change, your career changes. But what if those changes are perfectly timed and aligned? What if they’re actually kind of cool?
- Reframing the Fear: I talk about choosing positivity over fear. Yes, some things suck (hello, postpartum body changes), but you can choose to make the experience exciting. I share how I leaned into the changes and found joy in the chaos.
- Why This Podcast Exists: Motherhood forced me to adapt my business, and that’s how this podcast was born. It’s a space to talk about style, motherhood, self-improvement, and how we can redefine what’s possible.
“Motherhood changes everything, but it’s a welcome change.”
“You get to birth two people: your baby and a new version of yourself.”
“Permission to create your own rules—just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

Prada or Pre-School
mercredi 6 août 2025 • Duration 36:38
Episode 2:
Prada or Pre-School
"And then God said, let there be Prada!" Wait, what?! Let me back up ... In this episode of the Style Like a Mother podcast, I'm discussing my big Prada dilemma. I’m taking you on an unexpected journey that started with a Coach bag and ended with a $3,450 Prada bag that has me questioning everything—my style, my identity, and going deep on the relationship between money and style for mothers.
Where do we draw the line between spending on ourselves and spending on our kids?
I’ve been obsessed with this Prada bag. Like, visiting-it-multiple-times-at-the-store obsessed. But buying it isn’t just about swiping my card—it’s about facing the crossroads between the old me (the girl who buys designer without a second thought) and the new me (the mom who’s thinking about preschool, swim lessons, and all the other expenses that come with having a kid).
In this episode, I’m spilling all the tea about:
- My long-standing relationship with Coach: From my mom’s buttery leather satchel in the '90s to their trendy Gen Z comeback.
-
The Prada Moment: I wasn’t even planning to go into Prada, but something pulled me in. And then I saw her. The buttery brown bag that felt like the new mom version of me in bag form. But at $3,450, I had to take a beat.
- Style Meets Motherhood: How motherhood has completely flipped my style and identity upside down. As a mom, I’m now faced with questions I never thought I’d ask myself: Should I spend this much on a bag? What about preschool? Swim lessons? and other child-related expenses? Am I still the girl who prioritizes her style, or do I need to let her go?
- Trusting Myself and God: I’ve always trusted myself and God when it comes to money, but motherhood has brought a whole new level of responsibility. Can I still trust that everything will be okay if I buy this bag?
- The power of style: Why this Prada bag feels like a spiritual experience and a symbol of the new, evolved me. Since having Onyx, my style has been in limbo. Nothing in my closet feels like me anymore, and this Prada bag represents a shift, a new chapter where I only want to include things in my wardrobe that truly mean something to me.
Episode Highlights:
"I realized I don’t want a closet full of stuff, I want pieces that truly mean something to me."
"Where do we draw the line between ditching who we once were and stepping into the new version of ourselves as moms?"
"Can I trust God to provide for me, even if I spend $3,450 on a bag? Can I let go of the judgment that comes with it?"

Having It All Without (gasp) a Nanny
mercredi 13 août 2025 • Duration 52:06
Episode 3:
Having It All Without (gasp) a Nanny
Shock and horror when I tell folks I'm saying no to nannies and night nursesCan you really have it all? And I mean ALL of it: the career, the relationship, the friendships, the beautiful home, the body, the hair, the nails... while also being a present mother who gets to enjoy every little piece of motherhood? And can you do it without, wait for it... having a nanny?
I'm here to tell you, from my own "have it all experiment," that the answer is a big, resounding YES!
In this episode of the Style Like a Mother podcast, I'm getting real about the unsolicited advice, the pressure to hire a nanny before my son was even born, and how I found my own way. I'll walk you through my strategies that allow me to run my businesses, coach my students, and launch new projects, all without missing out on my son's giggles and funny faces.
I'm talking practical, actionable steps to redefine what "having it all" looks like for YOU. It's not about achieving some perfect, unattainable balance; it’s about creating a life that feels authentic and joyful. The real secret? Learning to be adaptable and go with the flow.
Here’s what we’re diving into:
- My Nanny Story (or Lack Thereof): I’m sharing why I decided against hiring a nanny, despite the overwhelming societal pressure, especially in places like L.A.
-
The "Having It All" Experiment: For the past six months, I’ve been on a mission to prove that you can maintain your spiritual practice, fitness, business, and personal life without a nanny. I get my nails done, see my friends, and haven't missed a moment of my son growing up.
- Busting Mom Stereotypes: For so long, we've been sold this either/or story. You're either a stay-at-home mom, or you're a "working mom" who kisses the baby on the forehead and dashes out the door, leaving a nanny to do the rest. But what if you don't fit into either of those boxes? What if you want to build your empire with your baby right there with you?
- Time Collapsing Strategies: Learn how I manage to run my business, coach students, and launch a new division—all while being a full-time mom. I'm giving you my secrets to collapsing time and getting more done.
- Redefining Your "All": I'll show you how to have your own version of "all" by making strategic adjustments, not sacrifices. Your life doesn't have to be perfectly balanced to be fulfilling.
- The Power of Flow: The real secret to making it all work? Being adaptable and learning to go with the flow, even when things get chaotic.
Episode Highlights:
"My plan was to give up nothing and still be there for my child."
"If you tell me something's impossible, I am going to make it possible."
"I want to live the life of both. I don't want to live the life of either or. I want it all."

Romanticizing the Night Shift
mercredi 17 septembre 2025 • Duration 26:37
Episode 8:
Romanticizing the Night Shift
Sleepless nights? Sign me up!Those first two weeks home with Onyx were rough. My hormones were crashing, and every evening, as soon as it was time to go to bed, I knew I wasn’t going to sleep. I’d be waking up every couple of hours to feed, swaddle, change diapers, and cry. It felt like an endless cycle, and I hated it.
But one night, as I sat there in the dark, I had a thought: what if I stopped fighting the night shift? What if, instead of dreading it, I leaned into it? What if I made it something special, something I could actually enjoy? And that’s exactly what I did. I decided to romanticize the night shift, and it completely changed my experience.
If you’re a new parent struggling with the night shift, this episode is for you. I am sharing all of my nighttime secrets. This may sound crazy, but they will have you loving the newborn stage. Yep, those 3am wake-ups will have you loving life.
In This Episode, We'll Cover:
-
Logistics of the Night Shift: How my husband and I took shifts to ensure we both got some uninterrupted sleep.
-
The Sunset Scaries: How I overcame the dread of nighttime by shifting my energy and mindset. How I reframed the night shift to make it the highlight of my day.
-
My Night Shift Essentials: Practical tips to create a comforting and enjoyable nighttime routine.
Episode Highlights:
“If you decide that it’s not going to suck, it’s not going to suck.”
“Romanticizing those late-night feeds with your newborn changed the whole game for me.”
"I'm not into roughing it. I'm into figuring it out so I can enjoy every stage of motherhood."

When My Clothes Finally Fit, Will They Still Fit My Personality?
mercredi 10 septembre 2025 • Duration 40:01
Episode 7:
When My Clothes Finally Fit, Will They Still Fit My Personality?
Is that slight "no f*cks" personality shift a big shift when it comes to style?I had just given myself a style makeover before I found out I was pregnant. I was so excited about my new wardrobe, Vivienne Westwood corset pants, bold silhouettes, edgy pieces. Then, boom, pregnancy! None of it fit. And I kept wondering, when I can finally wear these clothes again, will I even want to? Will I be the mom wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier dress with boobs printed on it at summer camp?
I went down a rabbit hole researching whether your personality changes after becoming a mother. I retook all my favorite personality tests, and guess what? My personality didn’t change. But even though my personality stayed the same, my style is constantly evolving. Why? In this episode, I share the research I did and the framework I created to help you embrace this new chapter of your life.
In This Episode, We'll Cover:
-
The Trippy Rooftop Moment: That time I felt like myself again… until I looked in the mirror.
-
Two Ways of Seeing Life: I share a fascinating article I found that changed everything for me. It explains that there are two camps of people: those who see themselves as the same person going through different stages of life, and those who see themselves as different people at each stage of life. I definitely fall into the second category.
-
Personality vs. Style: Why your personality stays the same, but your style evolves.
-
My "Three P's" Framework: Personality, Preference, and Pressure. I introduce a framework to help you understand why your style might feel off and how to recalibrate it.
-
Embracing the Cocoon: Embracing the messy middle (aka the cocoon) before stepping into your new lifeline.
-
Shopping Drama: A surprising shift in my style preferences (Balenciaga is out, Prada is in!), I share how my postpartum style journey has been full of twists and turns. The takeaway? It’s okay to let go of clothes that no longer align with the new you, even if they once felt perfect.
Episode Highlights:
"I see myself as a different person at each stage of life."
"Your clothes, bags, and shoes will never evolve, they’re just things. You, however, will evolve and grow. You get to dress the grown, evolved version of yourself."
"Your style is influenced by three P’s: personality (your stable core traits), preferences (what you’re drawn to), and pressure (external expectations). Balancing these is key to finding outfits that feel right."

Attack of the Postpartum Body Snatchers
mercredi 3 septembre 2025 • Duration 40:11
Episode 6:
Attack of the Postpartum Body Snatchers
Everyone talks about the baby weight, but nobody talks about the B.O. ...In this episode, we’re diving into a topic that no one really prepares you for: the postpartum beauty experience. From hair shedding to body odor, leaky boobs, and mood swings, we’re getting real about what happens to your body after giving birth.
This isn’t here to scare you, it’s here to prepare you.
Sure, you hear whispers about baby weight and leaky boobs, but the full picture? It’s a trip. And I’m here to give you the real deal, along with the products that saved me, and the tips that helped me feel like myself again.
Here’s what we’re diving into:
- Hair Shedding: Why do they call it shedding? I'm practically bald. I’m sharing my go-to solutions to naturally promote hair growth, working with your hairstylist to find confidence-boosting hairstyles, and embracing cute hats, turbans, and headbands. If you’re feeling bold, maybe it’s time to try extensions or wigs.
- Body Odor: Postpartum funk is no joke. I smelled like my cat peed under my armpits, seriously. I’ve been a natural deodorant girl for years, but postpartum hormones were like, “Bet I can outdo any deodorant you’ve got.” Enter: The best deodorant balm ever! Trust me, this deodorant is the bomb.
- Boob Drama: Four days after giving birth, I woke up with what I can only describe as porn star boobs. They were huge, rock-hard, and painful. Then came the leaks, the clogs, and the blebs. I’m breaking down the essentials you need to survive the breastfeeding rollercoaster, including nursing pads, heating/cooling packs, and how to handle those dreaded blebs.
-
Night Sweats: I got lucky and dodged the night sweats, but I heard enough horror stories. Think soaking sheets and pajamas. I didn’t get them, but I’ve got tips from moms who did.
-
Stretch Marks: I was religious about keeping my skin hydrated. I’m sharing what I did during pregnancy, what I’ve learned about stretch marks, and some tips that might help you care for your skin.
-
Skin Issues: Pregnancy-safe skincare is a must. I’m sharing my favorite clean beauty products and why Credo Beauty is my go-to.
-
Excessive Thirst: Breastfeeding will have you thirstier than ever. I’m talking hydration tips and the importance of electrolytes.
Episode Highlights:
"Your body hasn’t betrayed you, it’s just going through a process. None of this is permanent."
"Hormones are a roller coaster and these are all problems that have a solution. And if the solution isn't there? Time is the solution."
"When so much seems to be going 'wrong' with our body, it’s not actually wrong. It’s just part of the beautiful process of growing an entire human being."

The Stretchy Pants Surrender
mercredi 27 août 2025 • Duration 40:44
Episode 5:
The Stretchy Pants Surrender
I was the stylist who swore by the mantra: “Leggings aren’t pants" until I became a momI lived by it, preached it, and believed it with every fiber of my being. But then, life happened. I became a mom, and let me tell you, those beliefs flew right out the window the second I got pregnant.
Suddenly, soft pants became my lifeline.
Becoming a mom can totally wreck your pants game. First trimester? Bloated. Postpartum? Rocking the pooch. Pants are tough, but they don’t have to be torture. In this episode, I’m sharing my journey of surrendering to stretchy pants and accepting my new body. Because let’s be real: postpartum pants struggles are real. From the frustration of trying to squeeze into pre-pregnancy jeans to the emotional spiral of tying your self-worth to your style, I’ve been there.
Here’s what we’re diving into:
- The Pants Struggle is Real: I dive deep into the emotional spiral that comes with trying to fit into pre-pregnancy jeans. From the frustration of buttons that won’t close to the self-worth issues tied to clothing sizes, I share my personal struggles and how they’ve shaped my perspective.
- The Stretchy Pants Surrender: Why soft pants (leggings, sweatpants, drawstring pants) are the ultimate lifesaver for moms (or anyone going through body changes). I break down the stigma around these pants and why it’s time to embrace them unapologetically.
- Body Changes are Normal: A reminder that your body is supposed to change, it’s part of being human. I share insights on how to shift your mindset from punishing yourself for these changes to celebrating the incredible things your body has done, like growing and birthing a whole human.
- Postpartum Pants Categories: I break down the best types of pants to get you through this stage of life, from chic leggings to stylish sweatpants and even drawstring jeans.
- Permission to Feel Good: You don’t have to wait until you “bounce back” to invest in clothes that fit and make you feel amazing. I talk about the importance of surrendering to this stage of life and giving yourself permission to feel good right now, even if your body is still changing.
-
A New Perspective on Style: I share how my journey as a mom has transformed my approach to fashion. It’s not about perfection anymore, it’s about finding clothes that make you feel comfortable, confident, and aligned with your new identity.
- Practical Tips for Shopping: I offer actionable advice on how to shop for pants during transitional periods, including budget-friendly options, versatile styles, and how to prioritize comfort without sacrificing style.
Episode Highlights:
“You are worthy of new clothes no matter what stage your body is in.”
“Leggings are pants if you decide they’re pants. We’re not going with these fashion rules anymore, they’re limiting and judgy, and we’re letting those go.”
“The sooner you accept that you’re having a normal human experience with your body changing, the sooner you can stop spiraling and start feeling good again.”

My Fibroid Story
vendredi 26 septembre 2025 • Duration 48:38
My uterus has been through it ... Fibroids, endometriosis, and cysts. Add my age to the mix, and you have a recipe for not getting pregnant. Yet here I sit, a new mom at 44, to a beautiful baby boy.
80% of women will develop fibroids by the age of 50.
25-30% of women will experience symptomatic fibroids.
The symptoms? Heavy periods, anemia, pelvic pain, back pain, abdominal bloating, and difficulty getting pregnant or carrying the baby to term.
Every time I post about my fibroids journey online, I'm met with a flood of DMs, comments, and emails. Fellow sufferers want hope, to ask questions, and get advice from someone who has gone through it.
I'm always happy to respond to these requests because fibroids are no joke.
Then it hit me, now that I have a podcast, I can walk people through my entire journey. From natural remedies to surgery to spiritual solutions.
So here it is, a bonus episode dedicated to my fibroids. Share with anyone who is suffering. I hope it helps.
