What’s the difference between experiencing religious trauma in the church — and being born into it? This episode, we begin to explore what kinds of long-term impacts come from being born into a high control religion like white evangelicalism.
This episode was initially released for our patreon/website subscribers in May, but we wanted to share it with you this month.
If you want to hear other episodes about the developmental impacts of being raised in a high control religion, you can become a paid subscriber at https://www.strongwilledproject.com/ or our STRONGWILLED patreon, where we’r exploring each developmental phase, discussing how religious authoritarian parenting books approached them, what typical development looks like and what the long-term impacts might be from being raised under religious authoritarian parents (in a high control religion).
TW: Sexual abuse, infant loss, neglectful parenting
