What Does STOP 2 THINK Really Mean? - Episode 4
Season 1 Ā· Episode 4
lundi 22 juin 2026 ⢠Duration 53:51
Before we travel back to the first conversations recorded in June 2023, Pete Cohen and Dr Ray Sylvester take time to explore the philosophy behind the name STOP 2 THINK.
What started as a series of conversations during one of the most challenging periods of Peteās life has evolved into a simple but powerful invitation: to pause, reflect, and become more intentional about the way we think and live.
In this episode, Pete and Ray unpack the meaning of the word STOP, discussing the importance of suspending outdated patterns, performances, and versions of ourselves that no longer serve us. They also explore the significance of the number 2, representing relationship, choice, perspective, and the connection between ourselves and our thoughts.
Together, they reflect on the lessons learned through grief, change, uncertainty, and personal growth, and why stopping may be the first step towards greater clarity, contentment, and fulfilment.
This episode serves as the foundation for everything that follows.
⢠What STOP 2 THINK actually means
⢠Why meaningful change often begins with stopping rather than starting
⢠The concept of suspending the outdated person, persona, or performance
⢠The role of thought life and self-awareness in personal growth
⢠Why busyness and urgency can prevent us from seeing clearly
⢠The significance of the number 2 as relationship and choice
⢠The difference between living from the outside in and the inside out
⢠How grief and uncertainty became the catalyst for a deeper exploration of life
⢠Why finding your own path is one of lifeās greatest gifts
⢠What might you need to stop in order to move forward?
⢠Are there any outdated patterns, behaviours, or beliefs that no longer serve you?
⢠How often do you stop and observe your thinking?
⢠Where might urgency be influencing your decisions?
⢠What would it look like to live with greater intention this week?
Sometimes the greatest change in our lives doesnāt begin with starting something new.
It begins with stopping long enough to see clearly what needs to change.

Celebrating in the Suffering. - Episode 3
Season 1 Ā· Episode 3
mercredi 17 juin 2026 ⢠Duration 33:53
In this episode of the Stop to Think Podcast, I am joined once again by my friend, mentor, and coach, Dr Ray Sylvester, as we walk through London on our way to ITVās This Morning.
Just days before the world premiere of Hannahās Story, and moments before appearing live on television, we take time to reflect on a journey that began more than three years ago after Hannah passed away.
What follows is a conversation about grief, celebration, intention, acceptance, and the power of slowing down.
Youāll also hear the ITV interview itself, followed by our reflections immediately afterwards.
This episode explores one of the most important lessons I have learned:
You cannot always choose what happens to you, but you can choose how you respond.
For me, that response has been celebration.
Not because grief disappears, but because celebration allows love, gratitude, and acceptance to sit alongside it.
⢠Why Dr Ray encouraged me to ācelebrate in your sufferingā
⢠The connection between intention and celebration
⢠What I have learned from slowing down over the last three years
⢠The difference between reacting to life and responding to it
⢠Why timing matters and why not everything can be forced
⢠How Hannahās Story became a vehicle for hope and healing
⢠The importance of being present enough to celebrate life
⢠Reflections after appearing live on ITV
⢠Celebration is a choice.
⢠Intention helps us move from reaction to response.
⢠Sometimes growth comes from slowing down, not speeding up.
⢠Acceptance is not forgetting; it is learning how to carry love forward.
⢠The most meaningful things in life often unfold in their own time.
⢠We honour those we love not only by remembering them, but by fully living our own lives.
⢠What in your life deserves celebrating today?
⢠Where might you be reacting when a response would serve you better?
⢠What would happen if you trusted the timing of your life a little more?
⢠How often do you pause long enough to appreciate what is already here?
⢠What could become possible if you were more intentional with your attention?
Take a moment today to pause.
Take a breath.
Look around.
Notice what is good, what is present, and what is worth celebrating.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop.
And sometimes celebration is the doorway to acceptance.

You Couldnāt Make It Up: Finding Stillness, Purpose and Peace- Episode 2
Season 1 Ā· Episode 2
vendredi 12 juin 2026 ⢠Duration 52:52
In this powerful face to face conversation, I welcome Dr Ray Sylvester back into his home for a deeply reflective discussion about life, loss, purpose, health, faith, and the extraordinary events that have unfolded since their last podcast together.
Recorded just weeks before the world premiere ofĀ Hannahās Story, this episode explores what happens when we stop trying to control life and begin to trust the unfolding of it.
Together, we discuss the journey from busyness to presence, the difference between fitness and true wellbeing, and why so many people today are living overstimulated lives while becoming increasingly disconnected from themselves.
The conversation also explores:
⢠The power of discernment and learning to trust your inner knowing
⢠Why modern life makes it difficult to hear your own voice
⢠The importance of stillness, reflection and contemplation
⢠The relationship between health, stress and the nervous system
⢠How trauma, grief and adversity can become catalysts for growth
⢠The connection between yesterday, today and tomorrow
⢠Why contentment may be one of the most overlooked aspects of wellbeing
⢠My journey through grief following Hannahās passing
⢠The upcoming world premiere ofĀ Hannahās Story
⢠What it means to stop performing and start living authentically
⢠The difference between being fit and being truly healthy
⢠Why many of lifeās greatest opportunities arrive when we stop forcing outcomes
⢠Family, faith, resilience and being present for what matters most
Throughout the conversation, Ray shares insights from his work in leadership, coaching and human development, while I reflect on the profound changes he has experienced through nearly 300 days of daily self reflection and coaching himself.
This episode is a reminder that life is not something to be rushed through. Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs come when we pause, breathe, and give ourselves permission to stop and think.
āWe spend so much time carrying the noise of yesterday and worrying about tomorrow that we miss the only place life is actually happening ā today.ā

Celebrating Through Grief: Hannah's Story. - Episode 1
Season 1 Ā· Episode 1
vendredi 12 juin 2026 ⢠Duration 01:04:15
Welcome to the very first episode of the Stop to Think Podcast.
This conversation is a special one for me.
I'm joined by my friend, mentor, and the Executive Producer of Hannah's Story, Dr Ray Sylvester. Together, we explore the experiences, lessons, challenges, and insights that have shaped both this podcast and the journey I've been on over the last few years.
As I record this, I'm preparing for the world premiere of Hannah's Story on 25 June 2026. It feels like an important moment to pause and reflect on where this journey began, what I've learned through love, loss, grief, friendship, faith, and purpose, and why I believe stopping to think has become one of the most important practices in my life.
This is not simply a conversation about losing my wife.
It's a conversation about what happens when we stop running, stop distracting ourselves, and start listening.
I share reflections on Hannah's extraordinary life, her courage throughout her battle with brain cancer, and the impact she continues to have on so many people through her story, the documentary, and the community that grew around her journey.
Ray talks about why he encouraged me to celebrate Hannah's life, even in the midst of grief. What started as a simple idea became a powerful framework for healing, growth, meaning, and ultimately the creation of the documentary itself.
We also discuss how Hannah's Story began as something deeply personal, a way for me to preserve memories and process my own experience, before evolving into an award winning film that has now been recognised at film festivals around the world.
At the heart of this conversation is something I've come to understand more deeply than ever before: being busy is not the same as being present.
For most of my life I was busy being busy. Through grief, reflection, and countless conversations with Ray, I've discovered the power of stopping, thinking, breathing, reflecting, and responding with intention rather than reaction.
We talk openly about our friendship, the importance of trust, honesty, challenge, support, and the role authentic relationships play in helping us become who we're capable of becoming.
We also explore stress, the nervous system, heart rate variability, recovery, wellbeing, and why genuine transformation often begins when we slow down enough to hear ourselves think.
Some of the ideas we discuss include:
"Where you are is not who you are."
"You can stop intentionally, or life can force you to stop."
"Thinking is the foundation of transformation."
"Grief comes in waves, but meaning can grow through the waves."
"Stop to Think is not about doing less. It is about living with greater intention."
My hope is that this conversation leaves you with:
⢠A deeper understanding of grief as a journey rather than a destination.
⢠An appreciation that celebration and suffering can exist together.
⢠A renewed belief in the power of slowing down.
⢠Insight into how authentic friendship can help us face difficult truths.
⢠A reminder that stopping to think may be one of the most important things we can do in a world that never seems to stop moving.
Hannah's Story is an award winning documentary celebrating Hannah's life, courage, resilience, and extraordinary spirit.
The film has received 11 international film festival awards and will have its World Premiere in London on 25 June 2026.

The purpose of this podcast is simple.
To create space in a busy world.
Space to pause.
Space to breathe.
Space to reflect.
Space to think.
Because sometimes the answers we are searching for are not found by doing more.
