271. Raj Jana: You Can’t Miss What Is Meant For You06 Mar 202300:53:29

How do you navigate life when your reality doesn’t align with your expectations?

February was a month of deep and difficult reflection for me. I found myself revisiting the topic of attachments and expectations - in business, health, and relationships.

In many ways, I’ve been battling with myself as I cultivate the courage to stay connected to the magic of the moment instead of dwelling on the unmet desires of my ego.

I think this is a common dilemma.

What does it mean when we don’t manifest what we think we want? Maybe it’s an invitation to look for grace and fall deeper into faith.

Because what if the true reality is that you can’t miss what is meant for you?

As usual, I’m joined by your old friend Georgina El Morshdy in this reflection episode.

Tune in now to hear us explore:

  • Why reflection has the power to create meaning.
  • Why meaning ignites a natural source of energy that makes life interesting.
  • The difference between goals and expectations.
  • The art of staying connected to the magic of the moment.
  • Suffering as a choice.
  • How to use love as a disruptive force in the universe.
  • Why reflection helps us integrate life experiences and philosophical concepts.
  • And more…

270. Paul Austin: Mastering the Skill of Psychedelics27 Feb 202300:49:58

I’ve been wanting to bring someone on the show to discuss the safe and effective use of psychedelics for leadership development and mental health for some time now - and this week’s guest couldn’t be a more perfect human to help us all get acquainted with the power of these transformational tools.

In this episode, Paul shares how through clear intentions, mentorship, and exploration, anyone can master the skill of safely using psychedelics to facilitate health and awakening. Psychedelic therapies have dramatically improved the quality of my life, so it is an absolute dream to be able to share Paul’s wisdom with you all.

268. Raj Jana: Finding Certainty In An Uncertain World15 Feb 202300:59:26

This episode is my January reflection, a practice that has changed its flavor over time. Instead of finding lessons to learn from my reflections, I'm discovering patterns; it's like I keep coming back to what has worked and keeps working, and I find myself doubling down on what is true. Perhaps these reflections are transitioning into affirmations.

As usual, I'm joined by my dear friend Georgina El Morshdy to help me steer the conversation's flow and make sure you get the most out of it.

In this reflection episode, we explore:

  • The differences between being grounded and ungrounded
  • Why having hard conversations is a shortcut to creating change
  • The spoken word is the most powerful wand
  • How to entice massive transformations through self-forgiveness
  • How to integrate the idea of several deaths in a lifetime
  • What are angry responses protecting us from
  • What kind of questions invite an environment of forgiveness

A word that keeps coming when I think of 2023 is trust. You are exactly where you are supposed to be; trust that you'll reach what you seek. Seek to feel comfortable in uncertainty, remembering that uncertainty is the only certain thing in this world.

This episode is a conversation with my friend, Rick Cowley. We go IN on all things purpose.

Rick Cowley is the founder of VysionQuest, a company that has programs and retreats geared to helping you unlock your life’s true purpose. His company was born from him being a cancer survivor in his early 20s.

What I love about Rick is he LIVES his life's purpose. His cancer diagnosis spurred an unapologetic quest to live his most authentic life.  In fact, Rick even goes as far to call his diagnosis a “golden ticket.”

An overview of everything we explored:

  • Purpose and its unique way of being
  • Connecting to the truth of who we are
  • How to breakthrough the fears and excuses that are stopping you from living your life’s purpose
  • The sweet spot of structure and how it aligns with the flow of life and creativity
  • Clarity is a compass that guides you
  • The role of regret when it comes to purpose
  • How Rick stays grounded
  • And so much more…

This was an amazing episode to record. If you’re wanting to unlock your life’s purpose, you do not want to miss this.

262. Steve Little: Stop Efforting, Start Listening22 Dec 202200:47:11

This episode is a re-run of one of my favorite episodes from the year with my dear friend, mentor, and soul brother - Steve Little.

As I get ready for my yearly reflection, I’ve been going back through old notes and episodes to revisit key principles that made the most profound shifts in the way I live my life. Steve’s perspectives on “efforting” led to some pretty important breakthroughs, hence it’s being shared again.

Steve is the CEO and managing partner of Zero Limits Ventures, a M&A advisory, investment banking, and consulting firm. Steve has been an entrepreneur for 45 years. He sold his first business when he was just 15 for $250k. Since then, Steve has architectured 6 nine-figure tech exits and led the M&A teams for 9 tech acquisitions.

What I love most about Steve is the way he integrates energetics into the way he operates in business. Steve reminded me that there are unconscious forces that create our reality every day. As you’ll hear in the episode, Steve takes ownership of his own energetic blueprint by continuously doing the inner work to clear his system of what’s no longer aligned.

“So my experience has been: the clearer I can be, the easier this is.”

Tune in now to hear Steve and I explore:

  • Steve’s story of supporting AIDS orphans in Africa.
  • Working with the foremost authority of the Hoʻoponopono ancient Hawaiian healing method.
  • Self-forgiveness.
  • Cleaning up what’s within you.
  • How to create your dream life on a piece of paper.
  • Finding the balance between leaning back & leaning in.
  • Why you need to continue to seek.
  • What Steve does when things aren’t working.
  • The Starbucks story of universal timing.
  • And more…

“You have the power to manifest anything you want, you just have to put it out there. If you can put it out there and feel it as if it's occurred, it's on its way, it's going to happen.”

I love meeting people who are so bold about the role that spiritual conviction plays in creation. In this episode, Steve shares some of the practices that have allowed him to co-create with the universe along with stories that provide proof that the universe is always communicating with you.

261: Victoria Rose: Enrolling Your Parents In Your Healing Journey13 Dec 202200:51:48

This episode is a conversation with Victoria Rose - a writer, teacher, and traditional birth witness, pre- and perinatal educator, and birth consultant.

Through her work, Victoria helps people access their birth memories, offering deep healing for individuals on the path to greater mental, emotional, and physical health.

Here’s a beautiful website excerpt highlighting her body of work.

“Memory may be more accurately defined as not what we remember but rather what we don’t remember. Woven into the fabric of our bodies are the records of our birth and pre-birth experiences. In order to access these living archives, we must step outside our cognitive thinking-brains and merely look to the present.”

Re-visiting our own birth, in-utero, conception, and pre-conception experiences will reveal the extent to which our physical health, mental and emotional patterns, professional limitations, and ways of being in relationship are directly informed by our earliest developmental experiences.”

What I loved most about our conversation was how Victoria inspired a beautiful opportunity to enroll my parents in my healing journey.

Over the past few months, I’ve had many conversations with my mom and dad - sometimes separately, sometimes together. I’m grateful that each has led to profound realizations and deep cathartic releases.

I believe our parents (whether we have physical access to them or not) play such a powerful role in our journeys to greater health.

I hope this conversation with Victoria inspires you to lean deeper into your upbringing with curiosity, compassion, and love.

260. Raj Jana: The Freedom In Letting Things Go06 Dec 202200:49:20

This month was one of the more potent months of change, which as always, creates the most potent containers for reflection. I moved out of my home in San Diego and decided to move to Costa Rica with my beloved, got rid of 90% of my stuff, and embarked on a deep mental, emotional, and physical cleanse in preparation for an indigenous medicine ceremony in the jungles this month.

2023 has been a crazy year for me, and one of the things I love most about my monthly reflections is that you guys get to watch the journey unfold alongside me. I never really know what I’m going to talk about each month, as the lessons and perspectives are always inspired by what’s present in the conversation. In fact, recently, the reflection episodes have been as much for myself to process all of the change that’s been happening in my life as they are to share useful perspectives.

But with that said, I hope this episode finds you well. I hope it inspires the courage to follow your heart no matter where it takes you. I hope it inspires the courage to trust in forces unseen. I hope it inspires you to remember the home within yourself.

258. Panache Desai: Unraveling The Truth Of Who You Are22 Nov 202201:17:19

The last time I was with Panache was right before the COVID lockdowns. The time I spent with him as he launched his book, You Are Enough - Revealing the Soul to Discover Your Power, Potential, and Possibility, changed my life profoundly. Thanks to his spiritual wisdom and loving support, he inspired the courage to look at the parts of myself I was afraid to look at and dive deeper into my own spiritual journey.

This incredible human has appeared on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, he’s collaborated with Deepak Chopra and has worked with everyone from Neale Donald Walsh to Joe Dispenza, Brian Weiss, Ram Dass, James Redfield, and other luminaries in the fields of spiritual and personal development.

257. Loka Pandya: How To Connect With Childlike Joy14 Nov 202200:50:12

“I realized that joy is about working through your emotions, releasing your emotions, and also being intentional about your joy.”

Loka Pandya is a motivational speaker, serial entrepreneur, a DeLorean collector, and a passionate life enthusiast who’s dedicated to deep healing work.

In his work, Loka is on a mission to awaken the inner child joy that lies within all of us. Loka’s passion for igniting joy began after his mother died when he was 13. Almost overnight, Loka transformed from a highly competitive, ambitious teen into a young man who wanted to help others feel better.

Over time, his overgiving character put him on a rollercoaster of extreme highs and deep lows. The pattern was exhausting. Loka succeeded in making the world happy, but inside, he was sad. In response, Loka threw the kitchen sink at his healing journey, trying every tool and modality he could get his hands on.

This inner journey taught Loka that healing depended on his ability to feel his true emotions. He also learned you could intentionally trigger joy and choose how to feel.

Today, Loka empowers people to tap into their childlike joy so they can experience more love and happiness. This episode is a heartwarming dive into Loka’s personal journey of healing, along with tools and tips for igniting joy and reconnecting with your inner child.

“The more play you put in, the happier, more joyous you're going to be, and be intentional about it.”

Key takeaways:

  • Exploring your relationship with receiving.
  • What happens when the high highs and low lows become exhausting?
  • Loka’s “folder of joy.”
  • Reframing triggers into initiations.
  • Pausing to create space for a response.
  • Reclaiming control of your power to choose.
  • The power of healing through baby steps.

256. Raj Jana: Surrendering To A Vision Bigger Than You07 Nov 202200:52:25

“Your intimate relationship is the most profound mirror for you to actually connect to that foundation of love within yourself.”

The last time I recorded a reflection episode was at the end of August - just after returning from Burning Man. As an experiment, I decided to wait a couple of months before publicly reflecting again. It’s been interesting to see the arc of change over a two-month window - proof that many shifts can happen when you move through life consciously and with vulnerability and authenticity.

I often remind myself that I’m the common denominator in all areas of my life. How I show up in one context impacts how I show up in others. In this episode, you’ll hear how I’ve used my relationship and creativity as dojos - places to practice peeling off masks and connecting more intimately with the authentic me. I’ve also been exploring the power of surrendering to a vision bigger than myself - a practice vastly different from how I used to operate in business. These intentions became catalysts for a lot of growth, as you’ll hear in the episode.

As always, I hope that this episode will inspire a practice of reflection in your life. Reflection can be a superpower because the more we know our authentic selves, the more we can navigate fear, manage adversity, regulate our nervous system and step into the greatest forms of love we were born to express.

“What's actually required is healing ourselves and liberating ourselves from these conditions that have kept us trapped in this old way of doing that isn't actually serving the planet, it's not serving our relationships, it's not serving our health.”

Key takeaways:

  • Learning to show up imperfectly.
  • Overcoming my fear of being seen to fail.
  • Speaking on the same stage as Dr. Joe Dispenza.
  • Creating from a place of collaboration over competition.
  • Turning away from ME projects into WE projects.
  • Leveraging vulnerability as a tool for healing
  • Humans are inherently good
  • Having the courage to take off your mask.
  • The desire to know who you really are.

255. Andrew Kroeze: Intentional Rituals For Sustaining Energy31 Oct 202200:56:32

“I master my fate and captain my soul… I need to take radical responsibility for my life. I can create anything that I want out of my life.”

Like many entrepreneurs, Andrew Kroeze achieved massive success through the hustle-and-grind culture only to find the tactic wasn’t sustainable.

After experiencing burnout, Andrew had no choice but to reinvent himself. But the changes didn’t fully stick. The next time he crashed, Andrew woke up in a hospital bed. This time, Andrew knew he needed to make more permanent changes to his life and business. He craved something simpler, so he sold his company, retreated to an ashram, and reset his nervous system.

Through this experience, Andrew decided to become a “master of his fate.” In practice, this looked like embedding energy rituals, systems, and habits into his routine so he could alchemize time into the life his soul wanted.

Andrew’s willingness to hold himself accountable to his life blueprint inspires me. The degree of ownership Andrew commands over his psychological & physiological state is a potent reminder of the creative power of discipline when it’s harnessed in the direction of alignment and authenticity.

In his work, Andrew is committed to sharing his secrets of success with others. Through his Masters of Fate brotherhood, Andrew empowers men to master themselves first and then business.

“Our core beliefs anchor our thoughts, our energy rituals anchor our emotions, and then our time design or our calendar anchors our actions.”

Key takeaways:

  • How entrepreneurship can be a catalyst for a spiritual journey.
  • Retreating to a monastery to reset my nervous system.
  • Letting go of deeply rooted core beliefs that don’t serve.
  • Intentional rituals for sustaining energy.
  • Developing processes as an accountability tool.
  • Using time blocking to design his calendar.
  • Planning hacks for designing your life.
  • Using pre-commitments to establish helpful habits.

254. Jayson Gaignard: The Impact of Leading with Vulnerability25 Oct 202200:52:01

“Vulnerability to me is an expensive gift, and you shouldn't expect it from cheap people.”

“I mean, the quality of your life comes down to the quality of relationships. If you want good quality relationships, you have to be able to embrace vulnerability and that uncertainty sometimes.”

Jayson Gaignard is a rare breed of entrepreneurial leader because of his willingness to be visible when vulnerable. The old way to succeed was to wear a mask and pretend to have it all figured out. Jayson challenges that paradigm and proves how being vulnerable with others about your struggles, hardships, and even failures can lead to greater levels of impact in a world hungry for connection & belonging.

Named one of Forbes’s “Top Networkers to Watch” because of his ability to curate highly coveted events, Jayson is the founder of Mastermind Talks - an exclusive community that serves as a container of support, inspiration, and deep belonging for entrepreneurs who value impact and collaboration alongside business. Jayson has been featured in the likes of Entrepreneur, Lifehacker, and Tim Ferriss’s Tools of Titans.

Jayson believes entrepreneurs are “community made” rather than self-made. But what does it take to be a person who can guide, support, and empower others? In this episode, Jayson discusses some of the teachers who have taught him on his journey. Teachers include his daughter, who Jayson explains pulls him into his highest expression, as well as the power of vulnerability to encourage self-love and celebrate your unique beauty while honoring others.

Jayson is a man who cares deeply about people and the land while doing his best. As you’ll hear in this episode, when people are mission-driven, they can sometimes be clouded in doubt. This conversation is a beautiful example of what’s possible when you leverage community and vulnerability as mirrors for your highest expression.

Key takeaways:

  • The quality of your relationships is indicative of the quality of your leadership.
  • How tormentors can become mentors.
  • Exploring the mirrors of your relationships.
  • An artist who uses business as a canvas.
  • Leveraging empathy as an edge.
  • Finding purpose.
  • Reclaiming the freedom we lost.
  • How Jayson models self-love to his daughter.
  • The pattern of being hard on yourself.
  • Allowing yourself to know you are enough and you’ve done enough.
  • The art of shifting from DOing to BEing.
  • And more…

253. Dr. Joanna LaPrade: Understanding Yourself Through Archetypes17 Oct 202200:54:22

“ I think our culture has tricked ourselves into thinking there are cute things that we can do that will make us automatically on the other side of the doorway, and there isn't. You have to walk through the doorway.”

Although darkness is an inevitable aspect of life, our culture offers few pathways through it. In many ways, modern life has distanced itself from indigenous rituals that have been used for thousands of years to provide clarity & direction. As a result, many people lose their footing and struggle to make sense of life’s darkest moments.

As a Jungian psychotherapist, Dr. Joanna LaPrade believes mythology can offer a roadmap for all of us to experience the fullness of our human potential.

When you study myths and explore the similarities between your life and that of the Gods and heroes of the many worlds, you might find that we’re not that different. In every mythic tale lies a story of how life’s challenges and discomforts are here to reveal more of who you are.

In her work, Joanna empowers people to cultivate self-awareness by deepening their connection with their inner world. She takes an archetypal perspective, leaning on mythology and symbolism to help people navigate their underworld. Joanna is the founder of Aion Psychotherapy, an educator, and the author of Forged In Darkness. The Many Paths To Personal Transformation.

There's no one size fits all for experiencing the darkness in life. We really think we limit ourselves in our own capacity to access what could make change in us by telling ourselves, yeah, there's one way, and it needs to look this way, and you better do it quickly.”

Key takeaways:

  • Defining darkness.
  • The power of pulling from mythology.
  • Understanding who we are through archetypes.
  • Finding the myths that are true for you.
  • Why Joanna started to unpack the hero archetype.
  • Integrating mythology & archetypes into your inner work journey.
  • What is heroism and why do we think about it so singularly?
  • And more…

252. Gina Worful: Releasing The Shame Around Your Emotions10 Oct 202201:02:02

“Doing the work is the journey of questioning. Once you question and you become aware, it's making choices.”

Over the last four years, I’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours on my inner work journey. I chose to turn myself into my own research project, and this time in my life has been a period of massive growth, reflection, and expansion.

In this episode, I’ve paired up with my beautiful life partner Gina to open up about the rock bottom experiences that brought us to our knees, and how we used those experiences as catalysts to shift the way we lived our lives.

The journey of increasing awareness is potent, powerful, and profound. Eventually, you uncover the underlying factors that are unconsciously creating your reality. It’s the work that returns you to your personal power. It’s a rich inquiry that elevates your ability to choose differently and shift the course of your life for good.

I hope this week’s episode is a glimpse of the ecstatic level of fulfillment possible when you choose to face your fears and lean into the wisdom of what wants to be shown.

“Underneath those symptoms there are unresolved feelings. There's trapped energy in the body, there are beliefs, there's unconscious programming that is not in alignment with what you consciously want.”

Key takeaways:

  • Why hormonal imbalance became a gateway for Gina to go inwards.
  • When stress-relieving techniques aren’t effective
  • We’ve normalized living with chronic stress.
  • How compartmentalizing is a coping strategy.
  • Looking inward to discover hidden beliefs.
  • The ego death from coming clean to my ex
  • Why the secret to healing is to understand your nervous system responses.
  • Creating the space for a proactive response.
  • The liberation that comes from looking at discomfort.
  • Information about a LIVE group healing experience.
  • And more…

251. Mike Cline & Emily Rasowsky: The Power of Healing In Community04 Oct 202200:54:22

“We can learn something from everyone. Mirrors exist everywhere. All of nature is contained in the fractal pattern of a single leaf or a single feed”

About 4 years into my personal growth journey, it became clear that there was only so much inner work I could do on my own. My solo efforts often gave me a breakthrough, but my deepest inner work always came when engaging in community.

Community-based healing is THE most powerful catalyst and an accelerant for personal growth because of the abundance of mirrors. When you’re surrounded by others, it’s harder to hide your flaws. When you’re surrounded by tribe, you begin the journey of seeing yourself the way others see you. When you’re healing alongside others, there’s more opportunities to find your blindspots and reveal the places where there’s more work to be done.

In this episode, I’m joined by my partners at the Humans Are Good Foundation, Mike Cline & Emily Rasowsky.

Together, we’ve pooled our resources, skills, and healing experiences to share a framework for going inward that’s rooted in science and steeped in community support. In this episode, Emily & Mike share their own paths to liberation, and together, share the impact community based healing has had on our own lives

Be sure to listen to the end where we discuss how you can access a framework to help you heal your deepest core wounds in a community setting.

“There are certain types of unprocessed emotional data in our nervous system that is not accessible when you're just doing solo work.”

Key takeaways:

  • How we realized we needed community support to take our healing journey to the next level.
  • Everyone is a representation of each other.
  • Uncovering the unprocessed emotional data bound in our nervous systems.
  • Community gives us access to different examples and role models of what’s possible.
  • The concept of psychological safety and how it helps us heal.
  • Unsafe vs uncomfortable (and learning to distinguish between the two).
  • You are your own greatest research project.
  • How early childhood experiences shape our present-day stressors and challenges.
  • The link between self-forgiveness and liberation.
  • As a collective, we don’t have the time for lengthy, expensive healing journeys.

On October 5th, I will be teaching a live masterclass about a data-driven, community-based approach to doing inner work that’s designed to help you accelerate breakthroughs in your mental & emotional well-being.

250. Raj Jana: My Eight Year Journey To Self Love & Liberation26 Sep 202200:31:13

“Even though on paper I had all the markings of someone successful, I didn't feel it. That really confused me.”

As a 250th episode special, I wanted to share all the lessons I’ve learned from investing multi-six figures and thousands of hours into my personal journey to create a life of alignment and liberation that I feel so grateful to be living today.

When I started this podcast, I had no idea about the journey I was about to take. The journey to internal liberation isn’t easy. My life has changed entirely since releasing my first episode in 2017, but the path to this point has been riddled with the most extreme highs and lows.

The game of BEING is confusing because it’s filled with guesswork, detours, and setbacks.

But hindsight brings clarity.

As I reflect over the past eight years (and the thousands of dollars and hours I invested), I’m clear on what worked and what didn’t. I’m now confident about what levers to pull and where to focus my time, energy, and resources so I can keep experiencing unshakeable confidence, freedom, clarity, and self-love.

No one should have to invest as much as I have into healing our minds, bodies, and souls in order to experience wholeness. I believe it’s our birthright to feel good about who we are. We shouldn’t be living in a constant state of anxiety or fear. We should be learning how our nervous systems are wired from an early age so we can properly tend to it as we grow through life. It’s why I’ve decided to share my journey so far with you -- with no stones left unturned – so that you can see how a dedication to the “inner work” can lead to permanent shifts in your mental & emotional well-being.

“The game of doing is very different from the game of being. Doing is about achievement, external validation, and making strides and progress in the world. The game of being is about the journey to your enoughness. It's the journey of self-love.”

Key takeaways:

  • How a book transformed my perspective of what’s possible.
  • My quest to seek missing feelings through entrepreneurship - only to fall short of what I wanted.
  • How a drive to infuse meaning & purpose into my side hustle birthed Stay Grounded.
  • Forcing change through the game of DOing.
  • External success will only take you so far. You’ll eventually hit a wall.
  • Opening to my emotions through plant medicine. Breaking open to build myself up.
  • Discovering what’s under the hood. Moving into the realm of root cause exploration.
  • Differentiating between MY vision for my life and the vision that others had for my life.
  • Unlocking mirror work through community-based healing. My Journey groups.
  • Working with hypnotherapist Grace Smith.
  • Ending a nine-year relationship and confronting uncomfortable truths about myself.
  • Inner work has the answers, but it’s hard, expensive, and time-consuming.
  • Inner work shouldn’t be for the privileged few with resources. It should be accessible and effective for EVERYONE. And that's what I'm excited to share with you all.

On October 5th, I will be doing a teaching a live masterclass about a data-driven, heart-centered, and personalized approach to the inner work that removes confusion from the process altogether. Please visit www.rajjana.com/masterclass to join!

249. Trey & Grace Stinnett: Finding Flow Through Conscious Parenting20 Sep 202200:55:52

“So much of our desires are culturally programmed desires. If I can begin to understand who I am, then I can begin to stop doing the things that are not for me and are not me. ”

Trey and Grace Stinnett are the founders of the Academy of Conscious Entrepreneurs - an organization that helps people grow a company without sacrificing time at home by aligning business with personal flow. Informed by mental models and personality profiles such as Wealth Dynamics and Human Design, Trey and Grace empower clients to elevate their consciousness at home and work.

What I loved most about this episode was hearing how Trey and Grace have integrated their work into all aspects of their live, creating a path for conscious living. These philosophies have informed their parenting, too, empowering their children onto the path of authentic, self-aware living from a young age.

Creating a life of flow and alignment can be part of our legacy, and in this episode, Trey & Grace share how to make that vision a reality.

“I don't have any work to do. Instead, just go to work on whatever there is to be healed. Through that healing, everything else will just find its way into flow.”

Key takeaways:

  • What does flow mean?
  • How Wealth Dynamics profiles help you get into your flow.
  • Removing things I shouldn’t be doing so I can be more authentically me.
  • The concept of deconditioning.
  • The power of using frameworks and tools to know who you are.
  • Empowering children through profiles and archetypes.
  • Immersing children in an environment that cultivates a growth mindset
  • Creating an emotional platform for children to thrive.
  • Changing the narrative around traumatic experiences to empower people to navigate them.
  • The four phases of flow.

248. Raj Jana: Burning Man - The Frequency Of Liberation12 Sep 202201:02:36

“Infinite possibility lives in the unknown. Can I trust the frequency of truth and presence over the ego hits that my mind is craving?”

I’m just back from my first ever Burning Man experience, and it was life-changing. In this month’s reflection episode, I share the raw integrations and lessons from my time in Black Rock City.

Stepping out of the constraints and conditions of everyday life into an environment with zero judgment and radical inclusion, driven by a gifting economy, was wildly transformative. For the first time in my life, I got to experience the frequency of liberation -- where I could feel the infinite possibilities of the human spirit and potential.

Burning Man allowed me to experience a life that side-steps the ego and follows the calling of the heart. In the infinite expanse of the desert landscape, I felt safe to calibrate to the speed of my soul.

There’s so much to talk about and reveal. I’m grateful to have Georgina El Morshdy with me to guide the conversation.

“The journey to liberation, the path to liberation can be very difficult, very lonely, very challenging, especially as we are learning to decondition from a world that wants us to be conditioned.”

Key takeaways:

  • My raw integrations and lessons from Burning Man.
  • What is Burning Man in a nutshell (in case you haven’t heard of it).
  • The possibilities for living inside a judgement-free space.
  • How a new environment can change yoru life - radically.
  • Side-stepping ego and allowing intuition to guide my decisions and experiences.
  • The power of a gifting economy.
  • Burning the man and the temples.

247: Nick Onken: Tapping Into Your Inner, Creative Genius05 Sep 202200:55:00

“I think identity alchemy is finding who you are at the core.”

How do you identify and define yourself when you have multiple interests, multiple talents, multiple ways you see yourself interacting with the world?

For Nick Onken, the answer is Identity Alchemy - the creative art of deconstructing who you are [and who you’ve been] so you can discover the essence that sits at your core.

This episode’s guest is Nick Onken - a creative alchemist who dances between the roles of photographer, hat designer, podcaster, artist, and entrepreneur. He’s lived a creative life where his curiosity has guided him to shed identities and redefine himself as his work and life have shifted and evolved.

In this episode, Nick and I explore the creative power we can all access - to unleash our inner genius.

“Art inspires, art is the language that transcends and inspires people without language.”

Nick Onken has been commissioned by top tier brands such as Nike, Coca Cola, Adidas and publishers such as Cosmopolitan, Conde Nast Traveller and Marie Claire. His portfolio of photographed personalities include Justin Bieber, Usher, Tom Hanks, Jessica Alba and Tony Robbins, to name a few. Nick also supports, and photographs for Pencils of Promise, a reputable non-profit organization using education as the most powerful tool to change the world.

In this beautiful episode, Nick and I explore:

  1. What does identity alchemy mean?
  2. The power of personal brands
  3. The creative force of connecting to the energy of the moment.
  4. Creation as a tool to pull yourself into your truth.
  5. Intentionality and creating your moments.
  6. Dancing between masuline and feminine energies to let the magic flow.
  7. What it means to deconstruct and what secrets this opens up?
  8. Curiosity, exploring the world of possibilities, and creating for the pure joy of it.
  9. And more…

Nick’s on a mission to raise consciousness through the art he creates in the world - no matter what art form that is. He believes everyone is a creator with the ability to explore and express their inner genius - and in this episode he shows you how.

“To me, feeling inspired is just an energetic frequency. It's an emotional frequency that just tops everything.”

Justin Sharpe is the serial entrepreneur with several companies and a wide range of lived experiences.

245. Craig Villani: How To Hold Space For Transformation22 Aug 202200:51:54

“The process of enlightenment may be realizing that reality in life exists for us and that we have the capacity to transform it and our relationship to it just by perspective alone.”

Craig Villani has been in the yoga space for decades. A teacher since 1999, Craig has guided thousands of facilitators and instructors through one of the world’s most challenging hatha yoga teacher training programs.

For Craig, yoga is about creating space for transformation, connection, exploring oneness, and knowing self. In this episode, Craig shares how the gift of witnessing and participating in human transformation empowered him to “midwife it, facilitate it, and assist it.”

Craig’s insights about transformation, combined with his lived experience, make him a must-hear guest. I’m rarely blown away by people because of the amount of work they’ve done on themselves. Craig is the exception.

243. Raj Jana: Discovering The Art Of Self-Love08 Aug 202200:55:07

“True liberation is found in the journey of self-love”

After my experiences during July 2022, I’ve come to believe that the entire game of life is about discovering how to love yourself.

The month started with a vulnerable conversation with Gina about codependency and outsourcing the responsibility we both have to self love. What followed was a month of expansive exploration round what it means to love myself and a renewed commitment to creating a f*ck YES, 10/10, conscious and flowing relationship.

I’m sharing everything I learned in this episode, so it’s full of practical tips as well as vulnerable personal reflections. You’ll discover self-love examples and definitions to understand what self-love looks like. You’ll explore how life offers mirrors to ignite a self-love expansion. And perhaps most valuably, you’ll learn my systematic framework for loving yourself.

As usual, Georgina El Morshdy is here to help guide the conversation. This one’s a doozy. Don’t miss it!

“When you live in your heart, the cloudiness of life cannot dim your light.”

Key takeaways:

  • Relationship mirrors for igniting an exploration into self-love
  • What it’s like to demand a 10/10 relationship for yourself
  • Replacing codependency with self-love
  • Why we outsource self-love
  • Understanding how self-love is an inner game
  • My systematic framework for loving yourself
  • How to ensure a desire to ‘be better’ doesn’t become a destructive force
  • Why we feel the need to DO in order to be loved
  • What nature teaches us about self-love
  • And more…

242. Dr. Sherry Walling: Being Fully Present With Grief & Loss01 Aug 202200:55:42

“I'd watch so many people find their way through painful experiences so that when I experienced mine, I had this deep sense of knowing that I wouldn't get lost in it, that I would meander out eventually.”

Dr. Sherry is a clinical psychologist, speaker, podcaster, yoga teacher, mental advocate, and bestselling author who’s just published her latest book - Touching Two Worlds. Through her company, ZenFounder, Dr. Sherry empowers leaders and entrepreneurs to do hard things by exploring creative ways to get unstuck.

In this episode, Dr. Sherry shares what she learned through her experience of “touching two worlds.” This conversation is a potent exploration of death, loss, and grief inspired by Dr. Sherry’s own lived wisdom combined with her experience guiding others through painful experiences.

Sherry’s wisdom inspires the confidence to learn how to grieve while providing an invitation to explore your own relationship with death and dying.

“The book is called touching two worlds because of that, because of the permission to be in grief and in the shadowy dark places, and also to be enjoy and be in creative creativity and be in love and being gratitude.”

241. Jetta Blaine: Answering The Call To Do The Inner Work27 Jul 202200:39:44

“Resistance is a doorway and on the other side of that doorway can be a lot of power.”

It was such a joy to meet Jetta Blaine at the Feast It Forward Festival. Jetta is a lifestyle integration coach that specializes in using the plant medicine Kambo to facilitate shadow work, catharsis, and rapid transformation. Jetta has a gift for holding space for medicine journeys that guide people to a place of deep healing and purging.

I have been wanting to bring on more experts to discuss plant medicines on the show for some time now. In my experience, plant medicines and substances are incredible tools for expanding consciousness and revealing aspects of our inner world that we can’t see.

Although I have never personally tried Kambo, I’m very inspired to learn about different types of substances and rituals for healing & transformation. I was very grateful for the unexpected opportunity to learn about a new healing modality with someone so experienced and skilled with the medicine.

Tune in now to hear Jetta, and I explore topics that include:

  • Defining the word wholeness.
  • The courage to embrace hard conversations.
  • The moment Jetta took responsibility for her life.
  • What does it mean to bypass?
  • How toxic positivity can prevent us from doing the work.
  • The power of getting the right support for your inner work journey.
  • Inspiring the courage to go within.

  • Jetta’s journey back to optimum health.
  • The one-way ticket to India.
  • And more…

“Oftentimes the most difficult journeys can be the most powerful.”

In this episode, Jetta shares the story that guided her to explore and then practice different healing modalities. This conversation is a reminder that there are many ways to heal. We get to find the modalities that work best for our needs and desires. In the process, we’re invited to use our own discernment while still having reverence for all healing tools.

After all, the journey to liberate yourself deserves reverence for all the experiences it leads you through.

If you’re curious to learn more about plant medicines as a tool for your journey, this episode is for you.

240. Kosha Dillz & Flex Matthews: Learning To Believe In Yourself20 Jul 202200:30:56

“You never want to be the person that accepts your situation and complains when you get there.”

It was such a buzz to record this episode live at the Feast it Forward Festival. Kosha Dillz is an improv artist and freestyle rap teacher who performs in the street all over the world. He’s been rapping for over 20 years, and one of his songs, “Cellular Phone” - was featured in a Bud Light Superbowl ad.

Kosha Dillz has a special gift for freestyle. As an artist, he can rap about anything and everything (as you’ll hear at the end of the episode). Through his artistry, he dreams of uniting various groups of people for the better.

Kosha Dillz’s story is one of hustle, determination, humility, and inspiration. It’s a tale of NEVER giving up.

“One day, you're gonna have to truly get down to the bare bones of why you do what you do.”

As you’ll hear in the episode, it takes a particular sort of courage to be able to freestyle. Kosha Dillz shares with us the pressure of having to wow the crowd within 30 seconds to keep them hooked. In this episode, we talk a lot about the art of being comfortable with being uncomfortable and how the freestyle world inspires you to believe in yourself.

Here’s a flavor of what we explore together.

  • How Kosha Dillz got started.
  • Learning how to create a show that grabs people in.
  • Cultivating a relationship with fear.
  • Embracing synchronicities.
  • Learning to believe in yourself.
  • Proving yourself to others.
  • Learning to love yourself.
  • Sticking with the dream and knowing it’s going to happen.

239. Raj Jana: Unleashing Your Infinite Creative Potential11 Jul 202200:49:28

“This month has been doing the work, having the journeys, experiencing the energetic upleveling, and clearing my own beliefs about myself and the way the world is supposed to be and stepping into my power as a creator.”

Welcome to my June reflection. This one’s a big one! Hands down, June 2022 has been one of the most powerful months of growth and evolution I’ve ever experienced in the 4-5 years of my choosing to go inwards.

This month, I learned to look at my life with radical responsibility for everything that’s showing up - no matter how incredible or challenging. I got to remember that I am the cause of all that I see and that insight gifted me a new lens to look at the world.

Thanks to powerful healing experiences with gifted mentors and deep conversations with myself, I’ve been able to uplevel in so many ways. I’m grateful for all the mirrors that showed up in June, each of them empowering me to step out of my own way and reclaim the knowing that I am the creator in my life.

“How can we remove our limitations and the belief systems and the stories that stop us from truly actually owning our power? Because our power is that we are powerful creators. We can have anything we want.”

June turned out to be a massive turning point in my own journey. I learned how much you can grow when you choose to pay attention to the right things.

As usual, your old friend Georgina El Morshdy is here to hold space and help guide the conversation to ensure you get the most out of it. Here’s an overview of the topics and insights we explored:

  • How Steve Little (a recent guest) inspired my June uplevel.
  • Learning to play in the realm of energetics.
  • Deep healing of my entitlement wound.
  • How I subconsciously create realities I don’t want.
  • Removing the things that keep me from Creator Mode.
  • Tools for shifting into empowered states of being.
  • The power to choose how you feel.
  • Growing through the power of conscious relationships.
  • Understanding that my soul chose to experience liberation.
  • How I integrate the lessons that life is teaching me.
  • Finding your edge and settling in to play.
  • And more!

“Our souls are here to expand and we call in that expansion in the form of partners or challenges. Life keeps meeting you to the challenge that allows you to rise.

I’m so grateful for this podcast and I’m grateful for you. I’m so grateful that you’ve given me this space to share my journey and it lifts my heart to know my sharing is activating and inviting something in you.

This episode is a reminder of how powerful we all are - even in a challenging world that can leave us feeling unsure and uncertain. When you remember that YOU are the creator in your life, everything changes. I hope this episode reminds you of that.

238. Christian Swain: Discovering Who You Are Through Music06 Jul 202200:31:36

“You will find music that will speak to what you are going through at any time in your life.”

I recorded this conversation with Christian Swain LIVE at the Feast it Forward Festival. Christian is the founder, producer, and host of the Rock n Roll Archaeology Project. He’s also involved with Pantheon Podcasts. He’s the lead vocalist of Tinman and has been playing with his band for the last 17 years. Christian also describes himself as a political raconteur. As you’ll hear in the show, he has interesting insight on all kinds of topics. It’s one of the things that made this episode so powerful to record.

This episode was a reminder to me that there’s always a thread to be found in a great conversation. It doesn’t matter who I talk to, there’s always a route back to topics that help us remember who we are. Through these conversations, we get to meet life with presence to connect back with what is - allowing the energy of the moment to inspire everything we do and everything we become.

“Tragedy opens up a different part of you in some ways.”

Christian dives deep in this episode and shares his heart, his wisdom, and his life. We touch on so many topics, from the climate crisis to Christian’s experience of being involved in a mass shooting. At each stage, we return to the influence of music, how it aids belonging, and the power it holds to help you discover who you are.

Tune in now to hear Christian and I explore:

  • How does music feed your soul?
  • Waking up to bigger dimensions of life.

237. Steve Little: Changing The World With A Mantra27 Jun 202200:46:58

“You have the power to manifest anything you want, you just have to put it out there. If you can put it out there and feel it as if it's occurred, it's on its way, it's going to happen.”

My conversation with Steve Little - AKA “The Activator” was the catalyst for some amplified personal growth this month.

Steve is also massively purpose-driven who generously gives his time and money to a wide range of global initiatives including Younglife Africa (which you’ll hear about in the episode).

What I loved most about Steve is the way he integrates energetics into the way he operates in business.

  • And more…

“Inspiration is the universe's pathway to communicate to you.”

I love meeting people who are so bold about the role that energy and spiritual conviction play in creation. In this episode, Steve shares some of the practices that have allowed him to co-create with the universe along with stories that provide proof that the universe is always communicating with you.

Be sure to listen out for the conversation about efforting. It’s towards the end of the episode. It’s one of the most potent things I’ve heard for a while and it’s set me up for a strong month. (I’ll share more in my June reflection episode).

235. Raj Jana: The Power Of Surrendering Your Need For Control14 Jun 202200:49:38

“When you're triggered, how the hell is your triggered mind supposed to understand the wisdom of the universe?”

This episode is my May reflection. As usual, some BIG stuff has been moving through me. The constant challenges and up-levels result from choosing to walk my own unique path through life. When you’re looking for the lessons and practicing a lifestyle of awareness, it’s impossible to NOT grow.

But it’s impossible to avoid frustrating setbacks as well! This month, I found myself asking “Why is this happening to me?”

Do you ever find yourself asking that question? For me, this conversation shows up anytime my life doesn’t match my expectations. For example, when I believe something should have happened faster or when I wish I were further along my path.

In the past, these thoughts would get me in a funk. But because of my steady reflection practice, I know there’s a lesson I need to learn (or an experience I need to have). I’m learning to let go of my own attachments and align with the universe’s timeline rather than my own. After all, just because you received a vision or an idea in a flash doesn’t mean the world is ready for it.

This realization was one of my biggest takeaways from May. I reveal more in this episode.

“Life is not about trying to not be human. It is to actually embrace our human. It is to be in the human. It is to feel the pain. It is to be with what is happening in the world. It is to truly connect with what is while also remembering that there is a greater plan.”

As usual, your old friend Georgina El Morshdy is here to hold space and help guide the conversation to ensure you get the most out of it. Here’s an overview of the juicy topics and insights that came up.

  • How, as a society, we’ve normalized the wrong things.
  • Why our individual, reflective work contributes to the evolution of our collective consciousness.
  • The impact of big T and little t traumas on our lives.
  • The mind can’t have all the answers.
  • How we react when things don’t happen as fast as we want them to.
  • Reconnecting with our vision.
  • And more…

‘The big conundrum that I think that I constantly have to be reminded of is just because it's not happening on my timeline. doesn't mean it's not happening in perfect time.”

These monthly reflections are a core element of how I practice a lifestyle of awareness.

Sometimes I come to record these episodes with pages of notes. Other times I have fewer written thoughts but a lot of stuff in the air. Part of staying grounded is my monthly ritual to unpack and process what’s coming up. Sure, there are some months when I don’t feel like sitting down to reflect. I question if it’s the best use of my time. But without exception, I’m always glad I made it a priority because the experience always informs clarity and confidence in a path less traveled.

I hope that by sharing these reflections with you, they inspire you to embark on your own ritual.

69. Miki Agrawal: Embracing Every Shade of the Human Experience15 Jan 202500:51:53

In this intimate conversation with Raj, serial entrepreneur Miki Agrawal shares profound insights from her experiences in a darkness retreat and her journey of personal transformation. Miki is an author of "Disrupt-Her," and a trailblazing innovator known for founding TUSHY, THINX, and Wild. Named "Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business" and "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum, Miki shares her evolution from a hard-charging entrepreneur to an advocate of "soft power" leadership. Her latest venture, Hiro Technologies, exemplifies this approach by partnering with nature to solve the global plastic crisis through breakthrough fungi technology. Beyond her business accomplishments, she's a devoted mother, musician, and thought leader in the space of authentic leadership and emotional intelligence.

Key Topics and Takeaways:

  • How five nights in complete darkness revealed the mechanics of our emotional patterns and thought loops
  • Why "soft power" might be the leadership paradigm our world desperately needs right now
  • The remarkable experience of watching yourself cry and finding joy in feeling everything
  • The difference between leadership and mastery (and why understanding this changes everything)
  • How prayer and gratitude can transform our relationship with uncertainty
  • Why moving at the "perfect pace" means something different than what most people think
  • The profound shift from being a leader on a pedestal to being a guide on the path
  • How vulnerability and power aren't opposites - they're partners in authentic leadership
  • The way our souls might have chosen this human experience specifically to feel it all
  • Why feeling insecure might be one of the most secure things we can do

This conversation reminds us that true aliveness isn't found in avoiding the dark or chasing only the light - it's found in embracing every shade of the human experience. As Miki beautifully puts it, "I want to skid to death's door sideways, not in a well-preserved body, thoroughly used up, loudly proclaiming, wow, what a life!" The invitation is clear: what if instead of managing our emotions, we let them be our teachers? What if instead of fearing our vulnerability, we let it be our strength? This episode challenges us to embrace the full spectrum of being human, knowing that in this embrace, we find our most authentic power.

234. Jaime McFadden: Riding The Healing Wave Of Guilt-Free Self-Care06 Jun 202200:30:46

“In order to serve our family, to serve our friends, to serve the community, we have to serve ourselves.”

Self-care is no longer a luxury, It’s a necessity. What’s more, as a culture, we desperately need to transform our definition of self-care. It’s not all luxury massages and delightful bubble baths! Instead, self-care is about asking for help and getting support from your ‘village’ so you can overcome the common inhibitors of time, guilt, shame, and negativity bias.

Jaime McFadden is an international self-care specialist, health coach, and thought-leader on cultivating a lifestyle of guilt-free wellness. She’s also the host of the What’s The Word podcast.

I recorded this conversation LIVE on Memorial Day Weekend at Feast It Forward festival in Napa.

I was so inspired by Jaime’s story of holistic self-care backed by a village of support. Jaime is a bold, vibrant soul with masses of energy. I was mesmerized by her story and her vision. In this episode, she shared publicly for the first time the life experiences that took her to the brink and inspired her to bring a self-care message to the world. Don’t miss it!

“I'm going to choose me for the rest of my life, no matter what that takes.”

As a busy mom and successful entrepreneur, Jaime’s story is proof of what’s possible when we choose ourselves. With the right support, you can hold a lot! For example, Jaime was in full-on book launch mode during the Feast It Forward festival. Her NEW book WAVES of Self-Care is out now.

Jaime wrote this book to inspire people to dig deep and discover what they need to enhance their well-being, one baby step at a time.

Here’s an overview of all the awesome things we got to chat about.

  • Redefining the word selfish.
  • Why do we sometimes need to hit burnout before we’ll ask for help?
  • Life is precious.
  • Surrendering the need to hold on.
  • How Jaime’s childhood dreams, premonitions, and visions pushed her to the brink.
  • The power of micro-choices on the recovery journey.
  • Experiencing life as a wave.
  • How our presence sparks a ripple of impact.
  • The healing power of self-care.
  • And more…

In a world where so much is demanded of us, prioritizing self-care and asking for help is one of the most empowering things we can do. I hope this beautiful conversation with Jaime inspires you to build yourself a village and prioritize your self-care.

“The best way that we can present ourselves to the world is when we've actually been a little selfish.”

233. Nina Lombardo: Demystifying Feminine Energy & Embodiment01 Jun 202200:51:34

“When you place your awareness on your body and on your sensations and allow–through the depth of your presence with that sensation, the sensation actually expands, the sensation deepens and more feminine wisdom is revealed.”

As human consciousness evolves, we’re beginning to discover the true power of energetics as a creative and manifesting force. In a world where masculine energy has dominated for millennia, the rise of the divine feminine opens a new gateway for conscious leadership.

As a result, more people are getting inspired to understand the role of feminine energy and embodiment as a pathway to freedom, fulfillment, and happiness.

This episode’s guest is the founder of The Way of Devotion, the incredible Nina Lombardo

In her work as a teacher, mentor, and artist, Nina supports women in embodying their most authentic spiritual and sexual expressions. Through workshops, retreats, and private mentoring, she provides women with somatic-based tools to embody their love and deepen their capacity for intimacy and connection, so they can create the lives and relationships they yearn for.

I was drawn to Nina because, for me, she’s done the work to integrate both masculine and feminine energies within herself. I can feel it in her expression and her presence. It’s one of the attributes that makes Nina an exceptional leader in the art of polarity, devotion, authentic expression, and yearning.

“Devotion is really the marriage of love and commitment. It's becoming the embodiment of love because there is something that you love.”

Key takeaways:

  • Understanding feminine energy & embodiment.
  • Becoming aware of our numbness and why we’re afraid to feel.
  • Why our authentic expression requires an attunement to love.
  • Polarity and the exquisite dance between the masculine & the feminine.
  • Understanding how devotion transcends service.
  • Calling more love, intimacy, and devotion into your work and relationships.
  • And more…

I’ve come to learn that mastering the art of living is to master the art of polarity. When you understand how masculine and feminine energies dance together, you can create more intimacy, devotion, and love in your relationships, work, art, and more.

This episode is a powerful gateway for demystifying the feminine and understanding the potency of embodiment. If you care about conscious leadership, you won’t want to miss it!

“The feminine is the energy and the content and the stuff of life… I also refer to the feminine as love or this equality of yearning in the universe that propels creation, the feminine is creation.”

232. Zarak Fatah: Finding Your Soul’s Geographical Home23 May 202200:46:43

“When you have that time and space to really reflect and sit in your s**t, to be able to actually be there with it and feel it, sit in it, process it, you quickly develop your boundaries, your parameters, you know what you won't do in the future.”

What if there was a place in the world where you could recalibrate to your soul’s calling - AKA your geographical home.

Zarak Fatah is a transformational Life Coach who guides male entrepreneurs to experience more aliveness, love, deeper meaning, and purpose through his events and coaching. Zarak is a man who walks his talk. His 40th birthday brought a stark, undeniable realization that he wasn’t where he wanted to be (and where he thought he would be).

This wake-up was the catalyst for igniting a 180-degree shift in his life.

Zarak swapped the city for the jungle, reinvented himself, and as a result, is now living his dream of a healthy, balanced, fulfilling life. In this episode, he shares how he got here.

“Wipe the slate clean. I can now be whoever I want to be.”

If you feel the call to reinvent your life and step more fully into what your soul intended, this delicious conversation is the catalyst you need.

These are the key takeaways that Zarak and I explored together:

  • What does it mean to be ALIVE?
  • Stepping away from aspects of life to more deeply connect with yourself.
  • Why we’re called to specific geographical locations.
  • How stepping away elevates your clarity.
  • Differentiating between the voices of obligation and vanity versus truth.
  • The unintentional choices that change us to the core.
  • The difference between masculine & feminine energy.
  • What the ego protects us from.
  • The journey of reparenting yourself.
  • Rewriting the stories to change your life.
  • Choosing to believe that love is safe.
  • And more…

This episode is a masterclass in vulnerability. You rarely get to see someone pouring out their heart in such an open and honest way.

There’s not enough vulnerability in our world. As a result, it’s hard for us to cultivate deep connections and express the buried things in our souls. Zarak is an incredible example of what it means to not only be vulnerable but to use the courage to show up as fuel to inspire others.

I believe the more we see vulnerability, the more we can pattern match to its safety. Eventually, being vulnerable becomes a genuine option for you. Imagine how that could change our lives - and ultimately the world.

“They say the longest journey is from the head to the heart, right. That’s the longest journey we’ll ever go on.”
