"No One is Coming" and "No Days Off": Chapter 1019 Oct 202500:09:11

Tune into "No One is Coming" and "No Days Off": Chapter 10. Sometimes the hardest truth can be the start of real momentum: no one is coming, and there are no days off. We open with mantras that sharpen courage and then walk straight into the messy middle—an on-again, off-again relationship, a high-stakes photography assignment with Bill Belichick on Nantucket, and a gutting discovery left open in an email. What follows isn’t a collapse; it’s a choice. With a deadline looming and another shoot with Julian Edelman on deck, we turn heartbreak into horsepower, swap rumination for execution, and let anger refine our focus instead of wrecking it.

You’ll hear how patterns take root, why sunk-cost thinking keeps the wrong door open, and how to close it with conviction. We unpack “no days off” as more than a sports slogan—it’s a personal operating system for resilience, discipline, and self-respect. Edelman’s legendary catch becomes a playbook for staying locked in when you’re inches from the ground: eyes on the ball, hands steady, outcome earned. The story moves from betrayal to boundary-setting, from tolerating less to choosing more, and from being benched by pain to calling your own plays.

There’s a twist of joy at the end—a right swipe and a match with former Patriots lineman Max Lane—arriving not as a rescue, but as the natural result of raising your standards. Along the way, we share the practical habits that keep you in motion: clear self-talk, tight routines, creative flow under pressure, and the courage to shut a door that keeps hurting you. If you’re navigating dating, rebuilding after a breakup, or pushing for excellence in your craft, this chapter offers tools and a real story to anchor them.

If this resonates, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs the reminder, and leave a review with your favorite takeaway. Your support helps more people find the mindset and momentum to win the inches between head and heart. For more details, go to www.shotatlovebook.com

Love's Lunacy – A Journey of Crazy and Stupid Devotion: Chapter 915 Oct 202500:26:02

Tune into Chapter 9 Love's Lunacy: A Journey of Crazy and Stupid Devotion from my book Shot At Love, A Celebrity Photographer's Unfiltered Lens on Dating and Finding Love. What if the moment that saves you starts with a mantra and a punchline? We open on a small-town shoot with Steve Carell and land in the center of a bruising love story—one built on mixed signals, breadcrumbing, and the slow erosion of self. Along the way, a pinwheel, a dance number, and a stubborn fight to keep a scene in a film become unlikely teachers about boundaries, authorship, and choosing what matters when the pressure is on.

From there, the curtain lifts on commitment-phobia and the anxious–avoidant dance: the push–pull of intimacy that keeps one partner chasing and the other fleeing. We dig into Mr. Unavailable’s patterns, attachment science, and why intermittent reinforcement is so addictive. The stakes spike when family drama explodes into gaslighting and an uninvited wedding, forcing a reckoning with reality, proof, and the heavy cost of keeping the peace. In the wreckage, a manifesto takes shape—part evidence, part prayer—marking the pivot from explaining to exiting.

What follows is a clear, compassionate path out: consequences over speeches, boundaries that hold, and the No Contact Rule as a lifeline back to self-trust. We talk practical recovery—retraining your nervous system, rebuilding routines, and finding meaning in art, music, and community. If you’ve ever felt “crazy” for wanting love to feel safe, this story offers language, tools, and a way through. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs it, and leave a review to tell us the one boundary you won’t bend again.

We trace a wild arc from a Steve Carell photoshoot and an Aquarius mantra to the hard end of a toxic relationship, unpacking commitment-phobia, gaslighting, and the cost of staying. Boundaries, no-contact, and self-respect turn chaos into clarity. Join the mailing list and find out more about Shot At Love Live events at www.shotatlovebook.com. Follow, rate, and subscribe. When I Write the Book About My Love (Spoiler: It's Finally Here): Prologue29 Sep 202500:08:27

Have you ever wondered what happens when your greatest pain becomes your deepest purpose? As a professional photographer who's spent decades making others look their best, I've lived a life that many find fascinating—capturing celebrities for magazine covers, attending red carpet events, and building a dream studio in a picturesque town. But behind my lens and successes lay a story of heartbreak so profound that I never imagined sharing it publicly.

My journey from heartbreak to healing wasn't straightforward. There were nights spent crying at my computer, trying to find the courage to document experiences I'd hidden for nearly twenty years. Writing this memoir pushed me to my limits, forcing me to confront memories that felt impossible to face. Yet something powerful emerged from this process—a mission larger than myself. What began as personal catharsis evolved into Shot At Love, a podcast and now book dedicated to helping others navigate their own paths to love.

The transformation from being a "damsel in distress" to becoming "someone who doesn't need saving" changed everything. I learned that "desperation paves a path to the devil," while self-compassion and small daily steps forward can completely transform your life. Through my darkest moments, I discovered that asking for help is often the hardest part of healing, not the overcoming itself. Now I'm passionate about sharing this message: you're not prey, you need to get "preyed up" so you don't get played. The world remains full of opportunities and love, waiting for you to shift your perspective and embrace them. My book "Shot At Love" is available now on Amazon—don't miss your chance to see love and yourself differently. Join our community at shotatlovebook.com for exclusive updates and information about upcoming live events.

It's All About Reactions - How To Stay In Control & In Our Power With Special Victims Investigator Will Kesselman15 Apr 202200:59:13

Today’s topic is about the power of mindset and how to manage and control our response to others when dating. This week’s guest is Special Victim’s Investigator Will Kesselman, an expert in dynamic and repetitive patterns. He shares what he’s learned on the job. His acquired skills in psychology, coaching, consulting, and advanced knowledge around trauma so we can sharpen our skills around judgment. Decide which people to avoid and who is worthy of our time. He’ll share strategies he’s used in leading thousands of women to safety. HIS theories around emotional reactions–so you can stay in control and remain in power. We’ll discover that you don’t have to be phenomenally skilled to succeed; you need to be phenomenally willed, and if you want to find love, you absolutely can as long as you stay determined because where there is a will, there’s a way!

Will Kesselman, Special Victims Investigator, Social Impact Strategist, speaker, and, Founder and President of Control and Power Strategy, a Domestic Violence- Divorce Consulting Trauma Coaching agency. After experiencing trauma, he chose to dedicate his life to protecting others. With over 14 years of experience, through his consulting and coaching company, Will continues to help empower mostly women, and sometimes men, to protect themselves, even potentially saving lives. Through his company, Will specializes in revealing to his clients the hidden information known mostly to government investigators, police, and judges; and how they think and react to situations. Will has helped thousands navigate government and community systems to safety. Will has also recently been on a "live" private FB group (for Domestic Violence) with over 10 thousand members, podcasts, and a radio show on KLAA for Southern California.

Today, Will teaches us that we can respond differently to how others treat us and that we can be in control of our feelings and our emotions. Kerry Brett and Will Kesselman cover a lot of ground. Topics include;

How to use pain to catapult you forward, especially in online dating.
Will’s golden rule of being responsive, not reactive, and how it serves him in his life.
How behavior can lead to thoughts, then thoughts lead to emotions.
How we feel about ourselves matters in who they will attract.
How women have a gatekeeper which is usually a best friend or sister, when vetting people to date.
How to get an emotional response with the words you use when texting.
A big red flag to Will is someone who's not flexible; the relationship is being set up as one-sided, or the person is being too dominant. This is trouble and not going to work.
Women should never settle or make excuses for poor behavior because they don’t want to start over.
Why it’s so difficult to leave a toxic relationship because of the emotional bonding.
Why women are likely to get addicted to a relationship quicker than a man.
Narcissists have to feed and are brilliant manipulatives and need to have a woman to dominate.
Will’s advice around the mistakes women make when dating?
Women need to understand they have more control and are worth more than they think.
The importance of a buddy system when dating.
Men will respond favorably when the woman stands in her power, and if they don’t respond favorably, they aren’t for you.

The polarity between the masculine and feminine.
You don't need the other person to complete you if you truly love someone. Come from a place of loving yourself first, which is the best place to attract a new relationship.
How to love from overfill and not love from a place of lack.
The difference between masculine and macho energy.
Masculine energy comes from having a strong spine and being single-focused.
Why women need to turn off the masculine energy that they use at work.
Feminine energy comes from the energy of the heart.
Why women don't trust their feminine energy.
Why women have a difficult time letting the man lead in dating.
Rule #45 in "50 Ways to Love Your Lover" Ladies, let your man be masculine and remember you are feminine. Don't compete for it, or you will lose in romance. Barry, can you expand on this?
Rule #42 is men and women attract each other differently. Men see attraction, and women feel attraction.
Why is it crucial to be grounded in your feminine as a woman in dating?
Barry Selby's advice for dating and healing a broken heart.
Why you want to be fulfilled as a single person? So, when you find a relationship, it just adds to who you are.
If you aren't happy single, you won't be happy taken. Happiness comes from within, not from men.
Why being single doesn't mean you are undesirable or unwanted. It means you know your value and are holding out for someone who is worthy and sees your worth.

You Need A Dating Coach To Get Relationship Ready With Dating Coach, Lori Mendelsohn22 Mar 202200:49:45

Today's guest is Lori Mendelsohn. She's a dating app profile writer, dating coach, and matchmaker. This week's topic is why you need a dating coach. Lori will break down the difference between a dating coach and a therapist and why there is such a huge difference. Dating coaches help you move into the future, identify your blocks and create a structure to achieve your goal faster. A dating coach gets you relationship ready while helping you break past patterns. Asking our family and friends for dating advice is not the best way to go because often we're asking advice from those who have never been on a dating app, which is why we should ask a professional. Lori shares why it's important to keep an open and curious mind– And like the great coach Ted Lasso said, "Be curious, not judgmental."

Lori Mendelsohn is a dating app profile writer, matchmaker, dating coach, and award-winning entrepreneur. She writes unique profiles that help you not only tell your story by adding some swagger, levity, and humor because, after all, laughter is the best Mendelsohn. Lori is excellent at helping you write a dating profile that stops suitors in their tracks. When Lori writes, you find love. In this episode, Kerry Brett and Lori Mendelsohn break down why hiring a dating coach is in your best interest. Topics include;

You should be curious, not judgmental, because who's to say what type of person will make you happy. Stay curious; on a date, have a conversation of curiosity-ask the other person where they see themselves in five years? This question will give you a lot of information.
Why a dating coach can save you emotional energy and time when navigating these dating sites.
Dating coaches have a playbook and identify what skills you need to improve.
Setbacks are not failures; it's an opportunity to learn and course-correct once you realize your mistakes.
Why hiring a dating coach will help you discover what's not working and help you put a new plan in place.
Dating coaches will identify the patterns we need to break, remove blocks, and figure out why you are pulling in the same type of people.
How to build off of your strengths and put new strategies in place so you can play to win.
An investment in yourself is so worth it because what counts is the inside work you've done on yourself.
Why you shouldn't trust the opinions of friends or family and work with a professional.
Why blind spots are almost impossible to see when your heart is involved.
Look closely at the qualities you want in a partner. Are you focusing on the wrong things, or are you being overly selective?
This is not Build a Bear. You aren't assembling a stuffed animal. It's impossible to be all things to all people.
Why it's so important to live in the present and enjoy the moment without any expectations.

Art of Swiping Right: A Tinder Success Story With Scott Stunzenas And Kerry Brett03 Mar 202200:45:10

I can’t believe it! Today is my 100th episode and in honor of this milestone I have a very special guest, my boyfriend Scott Stunzenas. We discuss how we became a Tinder Success Story. I understand what works and what doesn't because I’ve tested it all, then used what I learned to find love. Scott was my MVP on Tinder, and I want to encourage all my listeners to give more people a chance and be open to all possibilities because you never know what package your person will come in. You’ve heard me talk about him on the past 99 episodes and now it’s time to put him in the Hot Seat! Hear his side of the story while he shares all the right moves he made after swiping right.

Honestly, Shot@Love wouldn't exist if it weren't for Scott – he saw that I had valuable information and he encouraged me to get out of my own way and help others by developing this podcast. Behind the scenes, there were lots of nights full of tears and fear around telling my own story. He reminded me that Shot@Love was not about me; it was about the person struggling to get it right and find love. Thankfully, on our first date he saw my heart, not a girl who felt like a disaster at the time, crying into her paper napkin. I was successful on Tinder because I pushed through the pain, dragged my sorry sad soul into the shower, kept swiping and kept going. Until one day I swiped right on an photograph of Scott, who lived 13 miles away, graduated from American University and was looking for love in all the wrong places and the rest is history!

Kerry Brett and Scott Stunzenas break down their online dating journey and how they became a Tinder Success Story.

Why dating is a numbers game and how to increase your odds.
Why you should avoid sending a thank you text after the date. Thank the other person on the date that night.
Do not send double texts if you don’t get a response.
Why the breakthrough is always the last key on the key chain – it’s always  that last key that unlocks the door.
Why you should avoid showing up as the representative.
The importance of managing expectations.
Dating is a numbers game and why it’s all about timing.
It’s also all about curb appeal and first impressions.
Why you should pay attention to the buzz words you put in your bio.
Why you should take risks sending edgy or funny responses.
Make no apology for your personality. You’ll be too much for some, those aren’t your people.
Your success is found in your daily routine. Everyday aim to be 1 percent better than the day before.
Stop trying to be perfect because perfect doesn’t exist! Beauty is an inside job and begins the moment you decide to be yourself.
Never water yourself down because someone can’t handle you at 100 proof. A real man isn’t threatened by your talents or abilities.

To find out more about Scott Stunzenas follow on Instagram @scottstunzenas or on FaceBook under his name.  After you’ve found love and decide to take the next step contact Scott at Compass because he will help you find your forever home.  To find out more about my Master Class go to shotatlove.co.

Daniel finally offers tips for protecting your time around those who don’t align with you and how to be proactive by playing offense instead of defense.

Daniel Herrold is the co-creator of Divorced Over 40, an online and in-person community of divorced women and men. This incredibly curated group provides support through content on its social media channels and hosts live events so that those navigating divorce can cultivate new friendships. Divorced Over 40 has over 10,000 members and has formed virtual tribes worldwide in just over a year. Daniel is also the founder of the Intentional Dating Club. He's a writer of all things divorce and known for his blog and his viral Divorced Dad Tik Tok videos, which offer dating tips. Daniel is a proud divorced dad of three daughters, who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is dedicated to changing the stigma of divorce.

Once Daniel found himself divorced in his 40s, he began looking for friendships and doing what most people do... diving straight into dating to avoid the pain of loneliness. In this episode, he shares how connecting with others, who are in the same situation, allowed him to heal and ignited his passion for helping others.

Kerry Brett and Daniel Herrold cover a lot of ground. Topics include;
Why women should stop accepting poor behavior from men.
When bad behaviors are shown early it’s better to cut your losses and move on.
Don’t make excuses why bad behaviors exist. Chances are, they are only going to get worse.
Slow and steady wins the race when dating someone new.
How to ask the right questions to see if someone is aligned with you.
If one person tries to push the agenda of the status of the relationship, it’s likely to blow up.
If someone ghosts you, they are showing a lack of respect and it is what it is, no explanation needed, the memo has been received – move along and consider yourself lucky.
Don’t be too accessible and watch the frequency of your communication. Don’t fall into the trap of burning the roast because you got too ambitious in the kitchen. If things progress too quickly either person is most likely to lose steam.
The importance of avoiding negativity in your profile.
It’s better to fill your profile of what you do want rather than what you don’t. And remember men love positive winners.
You can’t change men, make sure your expectations are aligned. A serious dater and casual dater are like oil and vinegar.
Stop putting so much pressure on the first date. Doesn’t friendship come before marriage? Use a date as an opportunity to find a new friendship.
The breakdown of intentional dating.
How to manage your expectations to avoid pain and heartbreak.
How to navigate dating in a healthy way when it’s too soon to date.

Shot At Love, A Celebrity Photographer's Unfiltered Lens on Dating and Finding Love: Introduction28 Sep 202500:12:07

Have you ever wondered if everything you thought about finding love might be wrong? Kerry Brett's new book "Shot At Love" challenges conventional dating wisdom and offers a fresh perspective based on years of hard-won experience. From growing up in a working-class Boston family where the Brady Bunch and Mr. Rogers shaped her worldview to becoming a dating expert who's made every mistake so you don't have to, Kerry's journey is both entertaining and enlightening.

What started as a desperate search for connection through books, movies, and music evolved into something much more powerful. In 2018, amid social upheaval and personal darkness, Kerry found her calling - helping others avoid the heartbreak she'd experienced. This led to her creating the "Swiping Soiree," a unique blend of education and entertainment she jokingly called her "Tinder Tour." Complete with interpretive dance to Christina Perri's "Jar of Hearts" and entering rooms to the sounds of Aretha Franklin while banging a cowbell, these seminars transformed how middle-aged women approached online dating.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, what many had dismissed as "career suicide" - a podcast about online dating - became Kerry's greatest achievement. Through trial, error, and relentless effort, she emerged as a respected dating coach committed to dismantling the stigma around digital connections. The book reveals how fear becomes our biggest enemy in finding love, causing self-sabotage and missed opportunities. But Kerry's message remains hopeful: love can be found anywhere, from Whole Foods to Tinder, and every misstep offers profound lessons that are part of the journey toward meaningful connection.

This isn't just Kerry's story - it's an invitation to rewrite your own. Whether you're struggling with online dating, recovering from heartbreak, or simply ready for a new approach to finding love, "Shot At Love" offers both practical guidance and emotional support. Grab your copy today on Amazon and join the mailing list at shotatlovebook.com for exclusive updates and information about live singles events. Your next chapter will be amazing - just remember to bring a helmet and enjoy the ride.

Love Of Money, How To Avoid Fighting Over Finances With Smoov CEO, Tucker Cohen18 Jan 202200:43:45

When people fall in love, they often forget to factor in finances, which potentially leads to heartbreak and fiscal failure. Today's guest is Tucker Cohen, and he's the CEO of the App Smoov, which is changing the way couples manage their expenses. Smoov tracks couples spending while you can select the transactions you'd like to share jointly. When dating, discussions around money can be challenging, but communicating about cash establishes boundaries, trust, and commitment. Tucker shares what's happening in the relationship world, how younger people today are becoming wealthier and prefer to maintain their independence. He also discusses how to take the financial pressure off of dating and why his app is imperative when building a future with someone you love because it's all about the Benjamin's baby!

Tucker Cohen grew up in a coastal town called Marblehead just outside Boston, MA. He's a graduate of Chapman University in Southern California, and he's an athlete, entrepreneur, and investor. Tucker is a 3X founder and 5X start-up operator from seed to series C. Tucker is also the current brand ambassador for Cake's electric motorcycle company. Today, he discusses Smoov, the first expense management platform designed specifically for couples. Financial strains are one of the leading causes of relationships failing. By simplifying the management expenses for young couples while helping navigate emotionally charged conversations, Smoov, removes issues and arguments around money so it doesn't come in between their love for one another.

Kerry Brett and Tucker Cohen cover a lot of ground. Topics include;

Why banks don't care about harmony in your relationship and why modern banking isn't built for modern day relationships.
Why millennials are driving the divorce rate down because they're getting married later in life.
If you get screwed up around finances or romances, it can derail your life.
Financial infidelity or dishonesty about your spending or debt can be the biggest relationship killer. Couples can't come up with a solution if the other person doesn't know the truth.
Don't be an over-sharer in the early stages of dating; save those stories for your hairdresser. Loose lips sink ships. Don't be complaining about your crushing student debt on your first date, and the same goes for sharing information about the large trust fund you may have acquired.
Don't let money ruin your relationship. Stay open to talking about finances regularly and making things easier for yourself by using an app like Smoov.
Wealth comes in many categories, like freedom, peace, health, and happiness. I like to think that being rich isn't about what you have in your bank; it's what you have in your heart.
Why fighting over finances is the second leading cause for breakups.

To find out more about Tucker Cohen, the CEO of Smoov, follow on Instagram or Twitter @smoovapp or get on the waitlist before the launch to be one of the first 500 free customers!

Love on the Spectrum: All Aboard the Love Train!16 Aug 202500:39:17

When Tina Zhu Xi Caruso and Pari Kim met on Love on the Spectrum Season 3, viewers worldwide fell in love with their authentic connection. Their story isn't just about finding romance on reality TV—it's about embracing who you truly are, regardless of what others might think.

The magic of Tina and Pari's relationship stems from their fearless self-expression. As Pari puts it, "I literally go on the train in a ball gown. I don't care. People could stare and say whatever they want, but it makes me happy." This unapologetic authenticity—Pari with her passion for trains and Tina with her photography and disability advocacy—creates a foundation for genuine connection that many neurotypical daters struggle to achieve.

What makes their bond particularly special is their shared understanding of profound loss. Both having experienced the death of a parent, they connect through empathy that might not have existed with other cast members. This shared grief, combined with their neurodivergent perspectives, allows them to relate on a deeper level. As Tina explains, "I feel like, for me at least, and Pari were a perfect match because we understood parent loss."

Their remarkable optimism stands out as a defining characteristic. Rather than letting disabilities or challenges define them, they embrace life with enthusiasm and determination. "If we are constantly negative, we'll never get anything done," Pari explains. "I gotta get out there and live my life and do what makes me happy." This resilience—whether it's Pari singing at Harvard Square or Tina advocating for the disability community—teaches us all about finding joy despite obstacles.

Want to find your shot at love? Take inspiration from Tina and Pari: be fearless about putting yourself out there, prioritize kindness in all interactions, and focus on the little, meaningful moments that build connection. As Pari wisely notes, "If you spend your whole life worrying about others, you're never going to be happy."

This episode was recorded at Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge, MA. To find out more about Shot At Love or purchase Kerry Brett's new book Shot@Love, A Celebrity Photographer's Unfiltered Lens on Dating and Finding Love, go to www.shotatlovebook.com

Dating: Why Rejection Is Protection, With Thank Your For Rejecting Me Author, Kait Warman21 Oct 202100:54:14

Today's guest is Kait Warman, and she's the author of the book "Thank You for Rejecting Me.” Rejection is one of the hardest things we deal with when dating. In fact, 99.9 percent of us feel defined by our rejections. Kait's journey with setbacks and heartbreak wasn't wasted; it’s made her who she is today. Kait's experiences inspired her to write a book to help women navigate the painful throes of rejection. Kait believes rejection can hurt us - but doesn't need to derail us, destroy our self-esteem, or impact our feelings about ourselves. Kait is willing to go there and talk about how she's been rejected in many painful ways but encourages us and proves that rejection can build our strength. It can also clarify our life purpose so we can call in a more secure love for ourselves. Kait discusses how you can easily be freed from rejection and realize it is part of life, but it doesn’t have to run or affect our future.

Kait Warman is an author, inspirational speaker, relationship coach, online educator, and host of The Heart of Dating podcast. Kait's mission is to empower others to have the courage to own their story, walk-in victory, discover clarity and vision in their life and relationships. Kait is passionate about relationships and has hope that the dating scene can be transformed because let's face it, the struggle is real. She has an extensive dating background, has actively worked to seek hope, growth and a deeper sense of self love. She loves walking along side those on the same journey while showing others that dating can be amazing!

Kerry Brett and Kait Warman cover a lot of ground. Topics include:

How Kait realized there wasn’t a lot of information around dating in the Christian culture, so four years ago, she started her podcast The Heart of Dating.
How derailing it can be to hand your power over to someone else.
How to take back your power at your lowest moment.
You have a choice in your pain and suffering and can take control of your healing.
Rejection is protection and redirection plus an opportunity to focus on your self-worth.
Rejection is an opportunity to pivot.
Why you should grab a notebook and write down the truths about you so you don’t believe the lies that someone else tells you about yourself.
Why the right relationship will humble you and make you want to do better, the wrong relationship will have you constantly questioning yourself, feeling anxious, and walking on eggshells.
Why one of the most attractive things is when someone is sure they want to be with you!
Why you should be with someone who is interested in being with you without you trying to convince them to be.
Rejections can keep us small and scared, or they can become things we grow through, learn from, and one day claim as a victory.

Never Settle For "Mr. Unavailable's" With Baggage Reclaim Founder & Author, Natalie Lue15 Oct 202101:09:51

Today, we have the MOST special guest—this woman is my HERO, and her books changed my life. Her name is Natalie Lue; she's a podcaster, speaker, artist, and writer of well-known books such as Mr. Unavailable and the Fallback Girl, a book that means so much to me I can basically recite it. Like so many women, Natalie had a litany of problems that included bad boundaries, toxic relationships, and a penchant for emotionally unavailable men. Until everything changed in 2005, when a crippling disease and the breakup from a barely-there guy triggered an awakening, igniting the desire to fight back. She wrote down her experiences and documented her journey, which led to self-publishing five best-selling books and creating Baggage Reclaim, including online courses, over 16,000 blog entries, and a podcast that has helped millions of women become "reclaimers" in over 140 countries. Through it all, her mission remains the same: if she can help even one person avoid what she went through and support others who have struggled with abandonment, rejection, trauma, people-pleasing, emotional unavailability, and feeling "not good enough," she's making the world a better place.

Natalie Lue is a thought leader in relationships. Her no-nonsense, compassionate, and humorous take has garnered a following in over 140 countries, and she's been featured in The New York Times, NPR, and the BBC, to name a few. She's the author of Mr. Unavailable and the Fallback Girl, The No Contact Rule, The Dreamer and Fantasy Relationship and Love, Care, Trust & Respect, which has sold 140K+ copies, and her podcast, The Baggage Reclaim Sessions, has over 2 million downloads. Harper Horizon is publishing her next book, The Joy of Saying No, in October 2022. Aside from her self-help blog, Baggage Reclaim, she is also the founder of the kids' lifestyle blog Bambino Goodies. She's based in London with her husband, two daughters, and crazy cockerpoo. She left advertising to become a full-time blogger for the past 13.5 years. She's the former relationship columnist for In The Moment Magazine and has spoken worldwide at numerous conferences. Her current work centers around people-pleasing, boundaries, mindfulness, and creativity.

Kerry Brett and Natalie Lue cover a lot of ground. In my opinion, Natalie is a brilliant writer who channeled this epic book and had the unique and perfect skill set to put it all together. If you struggle to date or think something is wrong with you, unworthy or not good enough, this episode will be a game-changer. Topics include:

Why Natalie has a knack for calling a spade a spade, tune into why she's always 100 percent right when it comes to problems within relationships.
You're not crazy or losing your mind, why it's crazy-making dealing with a "Mr. Unavailable".
Why Mr. Unavailable and the Fallback Girl is the the gift that keeps on giving.
Why Natalie's books speak to the collective pain women, go through.
Why women are socialized and conditioned to get the short end of the stick when it comes to toxic relationships.
Why this is not the "Last Chance Saloon" and why we should never settle!
What a relationship looks like with a "Mr. Unavailable", spoiler alert it's not pretty and never ends well. EVER!
Why "Mr. Unavailable and the Fallback Girl" was survival for me because society doesn't talk about these things or these types of men who cause all this distribution, havoc, and pain.
The definition of "Future Faking" – when someone fakes a future to get what they want in the present.
What "Fast Forwarding" is and why things start intense and moments later end up in smokes.
Why "Mr. Unavailable's" use "blowing hot or cold" to manage down expectations and control the narrative.

Writing The Perfect Dating Profile With Lori Mendelsohn - Dating Coach & Profile Writer Extraordinaire.02 Oct 202100:45:31

Today’s guest is Lori Mendelsohn; she’s a matchmaker, dating coach, and owner of Smart, Funny Singe, a service that helps divorced, widowed, and singles in their pursuit of finding love. What’s unique about this Milwaukee matchmaker is that Lori uses her intuition to vet possible prospects and is an expert at writing the perfect Bio that helps you get noticed and stand out above the rest. She carefully curates and crafts together words that read so perfectly that the other person can imagine themselves in a relationship with you and believes he’s the person you’re writing about. In this week’s episode, Lori discusses the importance of first impressions and why you should pay attention to body language. She also explains how she creates an exclusive story where the man of your dreams can imagine sharing their life with you.

In 2016, Lori Mendelsohn’s life changed when her husband broke the kitchen sink with his bare hands. Never in her life did she imagine that she would find herself navigating out of an unhealthy relationship or her marriage ending at the age of 61. This day became a turning point in her life, and from that moment on, she decided to walk the path of healing not only her broken heart while helping others who were going through a similar situation.  Lori also realized she could use her intuitive and empathic to help others. Going through a divorce, then entering the dating arena, she understood that being “out of the market” for 13 years, things had changed and changed in a big way. Now Lori coaches others in their mid-life to find themselves first, and in turn, find a partner of substance based on today’s needs and wants. She can help you write a dating profile that stops suitors in their tracks and on the road to finding love.

Kerry Brett and Lori Mendelsohn cover a lot of ground. Topics include:

How she learned to date in her 60’’s, and how she learned to avoid scammers, and players. Why pain and experience are the most excellent teacher.
You should write your Bio as if you are writing a story while explaining this is who I am, this is what I love doing, and I’d love to see you being a part of that because men want to be included.
Why you should add humor into the Bio.
The do’s and don’ts of what to put in a Bio.
Why the leading photograph is so important and why it needs to be a killer shot.
Why you should lead with something that is unique or special about you when writing your Bio.
Why Lori encourages you to open your radius to a nationwide search. If you are interested in relocating for a job, then finding love shouldn’t be any different.
Why you should have a phone conversation or virtual chat before going on a date because it could save you a lot of time and the emotional investment.
Why you shouldn’t be focused on the outcome when dating and go into it without any expectations.
People often hide who they are and put on this fake persona. The secret to dating is being authentic and showing up as your authentic self, not your representative.
Why you need to drop the end game and don’t be attached to outcomes. Not every relationship is supposed to work. If it doesn’t work out, it’s not supposed to. Brush it off and say to yourself. NEXT!

To find out more about Lori Mendelsohn, go to her website www.SmartFunnySingle.com, on Instagram @smartfunnysingle or follow and ring Lori’s bell on Clubhouse, she’s located under her name Lori Mendelsohn. Follow her clubs, The Single Connection and Single Over 50.

The Kiss Cam Fallout: What Happens When Cheating Goes Viral? With Dr. Nadine Macaluso31 Jul 202500:35:42

A kiss caught on camera, a relationship shattered in seconds. When the infamous "Kiss Cam Cheater" went viral, millions witnessed the raw, unfiltered moment betrayal trauma unfolds—leaving many of us wondering what happens when our deepest fears play out in public.

Who better to guide us through this emotional wreckage than someone who's survived her own high-profile betrayal? Dr. Nadine Macaluso, psychotherapist and former wife of the real-life Wolf of Wall Street, joins us to unpack why this moment resonated so deeply with so many people. "Betrayal trauma cracks your soul," she explains. "It's one of the most painful relational experiences we can have on this planet."

Through our conversation, Dr. Macaluso reveals the psychology behind betrayal—the emotional dysregulation, cognitive dissonance, and profound loss of trust that follows. We explore how people compartmentalize during affairs, why certain personalities feel entitled to risk everything for a thrill, and the power dynamics that often fuel infidelity. Most importantly, she shares a roadmap for healing whether your heartbreak happens privately or with the world watching.

"Trust your gut and get curious," Dr. Macaluso advises. While approximately 70% of relationships don't survive infidelity, about 30% do—especially when the betraying partner can truly acknowledge the pain they've caused without defensiveness. Drawing from both professional expertise and personal experience, she offers hope to anyone feeling shattered: "Healing is a process and it's not linear. It's one step forward, two steps back, and you're worth it."

A Million Dollar Mindset And Bankroll Opportunity With Master Photographer Jeff Lubin15 Jul 202100:56:43

This week's guest is Jeff Lubin; he's a nationally known Master Photographer, keynote speaker, a leader in the business and photography world, and an expert in sales. He's also owned one of the most successful studios in the country for over 38 years. Jeff is my mentor and the reason I had my online dating breakthrough. He's also given me some of the best advice in my life. In this episode, we discuss the ways relationships are just like running a business. There are many similarities, like the importance of your brand, your value, networking, connections, down to supply and demand. We also discuss unwritten rules, navigating the highs and lows, and why we should remain confident in our abilities.

Jeff Lubin began with humble beginnings in a small studio with a window and a neon sign to becoming the leading portrait photographer in the Washington, D.C. area for nearly four decades. Some of his clients include Lynda Carter, Cal Ripken, Robert & Sheila Johnson, and Larry King. In 2017, The Lubin Studio was commissioned to create seven paintings to adorn the United States Court of Appeals for The Armed Forces work, which will display throughout history.

Jeff's style has won him many national and state awards. He earned the coveted Master of Photography Degree from Professional Photographers of American in 1992, after only three years of competition. The following year, he received his Craftsman Degree. Jeff's work has been featured in several issues of Rangefinder Magazine and The Professional Photographer. He has also published over 100 articles in photography. He's been a renowned keynote speaker at national and state conventions all over the globe. Jeff's style is one of the most emulated in the photography industry over the last quarter-century.

Kerry Brett and Jeff Lubin cover a lot of ground, from photography, building a brand and successful business, to starting over with online dating. Topics include:
How to create a household name brand.
How to be relentless in your pursuit to the top.
How to stand out in a crowd and be memorable.
Why if you be your true authentic self, you will be more likable and relatable.
Often people don't give themselves a chance or realize what makes them different or special is the very thing that will make them stand out in business or on these dating apps.
Why true growth comes from the experiences you have and things not working out.
Why having a never quit mentality is the reason behind an entrepreneur's success.
Why limiting beliefs keep us stuck in our current situation, either staying in a job that makes you unhappy or in the area of our love lives.
You are what you think and how thoughts expand.
If you can change your thinking you can change your reality.
What you resist persists, and if you are doing the same patterns repeatedly and things are working, that is the definition of insanity.

The Love Experiment With Founder And CEO Of Once Dating App Clémentine LaLande07 Jul 202100:51:08

Today's guest is Clémentine Lalande, and she's the founder and CEO of the dating app Once. Back in 2015, along with a friend, Clémentine created the "slow dating" app, which delivers one match a day to each user. The app is the leading dating App in Europe, which has over 10 million users. Once launched, a matching algorithm based on a user's "emotional profile" created by a team of psychologists and dating experts. Once's vision is to create a post-swipe world. Clémentine discusses how she's changing the online dating culture, why we should give The Love Experiment a shot, and why this quality-over-quantity approach is the solution to the oversaturated dating scene.

Clémentine Lalande has this vision of a new way of dating firmly in her mind. Once leverages AI algorithms to provide just one match per day to each user. Each pair has 24 hours of each other's attention and can continue chatting if they "like" each other. And this method seems to be more than popular. In early 2021, the Dating Group acquired the company, overall valuing the company at 18 million.

Clémentine has over a decade of experience in technology and business development. She's also founded the dating app Pickable, a feminist dating app, which reverses gender power imbalances by requiring only men to create a profile. A few months after its launch, it had two million users. Pickable was awarded by Apple then sold to Once, while she continues to serve as CEO while heading the united company.

Kerry Brett and Clémentine Lalande cover a lot of ground and topics include:
The recent launch of the Love Connection and why this is beneficial to daters.
The Love Connection is the first dating app algorithm created by an all-female team whose goal is to swap endless, image-centric swiping for meaningful connections by offering users just a single, carefully selected match each day.
The Love Experiment enlisted the help of French psychoanalyst Fabienne Kramer and British psychologist Dannielle Haig. Together, they created a set of 28 questions inspired by transactional analysis, analytical psychology, and behavioral analysis to identify a person's emotional profile.
Clémentine plans to change the swiping culture, and she feels swiping on a variety of apps is like searching for a number in the phone book. That it simply makes singles unhappy.
Once matches people based on personality. Once, is the only dating site that matches couples based on the Myers-Briggs personality test.
Clémentine shares advice for women around staying hopeful and optimistic  when dating online.
Why you should be specific in your bio and be specific for what you're looking for.
Remember to keep in mind the profile is not the person.
Don't spend more than three days speaking with someone online. Cross that bridge from digital to real-life ASAP – the sooner you do this, the better off you'll be.

To find out more about Once visit getonce.com. For more information about Clémentine LaLande you can find her on Twitter @clemeentine or on LinkedIn.

He also ran marathons  for the Tug McGraw Foundation while supporting research for brain tumor patients.

Jeff McMahon went to Nashville all by himself; his Dad used to drive two hours to buy records and wouldn't allow him to buy his first keyboard unless they could afford a case. He's a self-taught piano man who became the 2001 Nominee for "Musician of the Year/Keyboardist" by the Academy of Country Music. He's played with Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors for nearly two decades  and played on countless number one singles. He's edited books, and aside from running 6 marathons himself, coached other runners to raise money for charities while working and producing new artists like Ashlyn Grayce, Jim Brown, Nicole Lewis, and Maddye Trew, and Zach Stone.

In this episode, Jeff discusses moving forward, hit records, and holding onto your heart. He also shares lessons from the road and tips around making stronger connections with others. It where cameras, keyboards, and Clubhouse meet. With a powerful performance at the end!

Kerry Brett and Jeff McMahon cover a lot of ground. Topics include:
Why being authentic allows you to connect with others in a meaningful way.
Slow down and pay attention to others. Paying attention and listening will go a long way when building new relationships online.
You will connect with people for different reasons, so just be yourself, and don't be afraid to say what's on your mind.
Set boundaries with your schedule, don't try to be too available. Men like women who aren't easily assessable.
If you're honest with who you are, you will stand out. Most people are pretending to have a perfect life that doesn't exist.
Listen to what others  say on Clubhouse, which is a great place to hear responses in real-time. If you spend time in rooms on Clubhouse, this will help you improve your communication skills.
Why being honest and authentic builds trust. Men fall in love with the real you anyway. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there in a big way.
People are so rushed and distracted, so pay attention. Slow it down; it's ok to wait to respond until you find the right words.
Being quiet and being intentional are powerful tools when communicating with others.
If you're always kind, it will go a long way. The struggle is real, so kill them with kindness.
Date a lot. Practice makes perfect. The more you date, the better you'll become.
Lead with your heart, and don't forget to be authentic. Say what you want to say, not what you think you should say. That's how you'll make a significant impact when online dating.

A Winner's Mindset While Dating With Olympian & Comeback Kid Kelly Gunther15 Jun 202100:43:57

This week’s guest is Kelly Gunther, she’s a motivational speaker, an Olympian, and American Speed Skater. But what’s truly amazing about her is that she’s the ultimate Comeback Kid. Her story is one of inspiration. At the 2010 Olympic trials, she endured a double compound fracture that nearly severed her foot from her leg. A fracture so bad for most a dream of the Olympics would have been over. But, instead, Kelly with tears in her eyes got back on the ice.

At the 2014 Olympic trials, Kelly skated a personal best on the same track as her accident. This girl is in her own lane of greatness, and she always has been. She realized early on that she had herself, and it was up to her to make it happen. Kelly is also single, and in this episodes, she shares what it takes to have a winning mindset and how having that winning attitude will help you succeed online.

Kelly Gunther is an American Speed Skater who participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics. She began roller skating at age six and briefly tried figure skating, but she was too fast for the music, so she took up speed skating. As an inline speed skater, she won multiple World Championship gold medals on the United States relay team. At the 2010 Olympic trials, Kelly made the United States speed skating team but was bumped from the team after another skater was granted a re-skate. In March 2010, she fell during a race and suffered a tragic injury. After intensive rehab, Kelly returned to skating and set two personal best times in November 2011. She made the 2011–2012 World Cup team and placed third in the 1000 meters national championships. At the 2014 U.S. Olympic trials, she skated a personal best time to place fourth and make the Olympic team.

In her words, she wasn’t first. She wasn’t last; she was always the girl right there. She is the ultimate comeback kid, and sometimes it’s as easy as – just continuing to show up. Kerry Brett and Kelly Gunther cover a lot of ground around dating and being single. Topics include

Why you need to believe that you can find love in online dating.
Why you have to have the determination to find love online.
Why the power of intention is so important?
Keep showing up and be consistent.
It’s all about connecting and dating apps are a tool to connect.
Don’t over think it and like Nike says just do it!
If you can’t find the strength to push yourself have a friend push, you.
How having persistence and patience will help you.
If you get knock down, use that anger and energy to continue to work hard.
The comeback is always stronger than the set back.
What you ask for you will get.
Have confidence and when you walk into the date walk in life.
If you fallen down 7 times you can get back 8.
How to overcome limiting beliefs.
Be in a lane of your own, and don't skate away from who you truly are.

New Book Shot At Love! Kerry Brett on Turning Dating Missteps into a Movement21 Mar 202500:45:30

Tune into the first interview Kerry Brett gives on Cosmic Scene with Jill Jardine to discuss the launch of her new book Shot At Love, A Celebrity Photographer's Lens on Dating and Finding Love. The latest best-selling release is a raw, hilarious, and deeply insightful story of the host of Shot At Love; Kerry Brett's journey from heartbreak to happiness will have you laughing, nodding in recognition, and rethinking your approach to finding love.

When Kerry Brett found herself at what she calls "the basement of rock bottom" after a painful breakup, she turned to an unexpected source of hope: Tinder. But unlike many who approach dating apps with dread, this award-winning Boston photographer embraced the platform as a creative opportunity. With the same keen eye she used to capture celebrities like David Ortiz and Amy Poehler, Kerry developed a method for identifying potential matches, creating authentic connections, and ultimately finding love.

Kerry's story is compelling because of her unique blend of self-deprecating humor, spirituality, and practical wisdom. Each chapter of her newly released book "Shot At Love" begins with a Sanskrit mantra, connecting ancient wisdom to modern dating challenges. From the "German Leo" to the "Irish Leprechaun" and finally to her successful Tinder match, Kerry's dating adventures read like a Boston version of Sex and the City – minus the sex, as she quips, because "she's Irish Catholic, 51, and her parents listen to her show."

The most powerful takeaway from our conversation is Kerry's insight that the stories we tell ourselves often become our biggest obstacles. Whether it's believing you're "damaged goods" because of past relationships or thinking no one wants to date a single parent, these internal narratives limit possibilities. As Kerry emphasizes, "Beauty is an inside job" – how you feel about yourself ultimately determines how others perceive and treat you.

Kerry's journey offers hope and a roadmap for anyone navigating the complex world of modern dating. Her transformation from celebrated photographer to award-winning podcast host and author demonstrates how following your authentic path can lead to unexpected opportunities and, yes, even love.

Take your best shot at love by checking out Kerry's new book "Shot At Love" on Amazon or at shotatloveook.com, and tune into her podcast for daily doses of dating wisdom and inspiration. Or join the single movement at www.shotatlovebook.com
