Directed by RJ Collins, CRESCENT CITY tells the story of Brian Sutter (Terrance Howard), a police officer in a small southern town who’s struggling to keep it together. When the town is terrorized by a serial killer, Sutter and his partners, Luke Carson and Jaclyn Waters (Esai Morales and Nicky Whelan), are called into action. But, as the body count rises, everyone—including those on the force—become suspects, forcing them to try to contain the horrors of their past as they look to catch the killer. Inspired by the amazing true story, My Penguin Friend tells the story of Joao (Jean Reno), an older gentleman who lives a secluded life with his wife Maria (Adriana Barraza). One day, as Joao is on the beach, he discovers a lost penguin who is drenched in oil. Taking the bird into his home, Joao does his best to bring him back to health. Naming the bird DinDim, their encounter begins a beautiful friendship that stands the test of time (and the ocean). Things begin to change for Heather though when she meets Jonny (Amandla Stenberg), an attractive figure skater who instantly catches Heather’s eye. Most threatening of all, though, is her devastating family curse that causes her to morph into a feral wolf whenever there’s a full moon. Written and directed by Nia DaCosta, THE MARVELS follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), aka Captain Marvel, as she deals with the fallout from her destruction of The Supreme Intelligence. Written and directed by Liz Whitmere, COLD tells the story of Jane (Melanie Scrofano), a woman who has just turned 40 but remains inexplicably (and increasingly) chilled to the bone. Something is wrong—but she doesn’t know what to do about it. She reaches out to her partner, Theo (Sean Baek) and her friends but they insist that this is just part of ‘the Change’.
