What I'd Do If I Had to Start My Coaching Business Over From $023 Sep 202600:12:47

In this episode, I walk through what I would do if I woke up tomorrow and Faith2Influence was gone — and my family was relying on me to rebuild a coaching business that actually produces income in month one.I share the early failures (one paying client in 2012, three in 2015) and what changed when Faith2Influence started in 2018: a $60,000 first-year goal that became more than $250,000 in revenue. Then I break down the three things I would focus on if I had that same urgency again.Day one: a simple business plan. A clear mission around a problem people will pay to solve, one or two high-value offers, and one path to present them.Day two: build prospect and referral-partner lists from the people you already know, and lean on existing trust.Day three: start conversations. Send messages, follow up, and get on sales calls quickly. Keep an hour each weekday for outreach, because that is where income is created. This one is for brand-new Christian coaches, and for anyone who has been hustling in the wrong places and wants to get back to what actually works.Chapters:00:00 Starting over from zero00:55 Lessons from failure and breakthrough01:53 Build a simple business plan02:51 Write a clear mission statement03:19 Create one or two high-value offers04:13 Establish a signature offer05:11 Choose one offer presentation strategy06:11 Build prospect and referral lists07:31 Use existing trust for early sales08:00 Start conversations through direct outreach08:56 Follow up consistently10:21 Prioritize income-producing work11:16 Begin sales calls quickly12:14 Return to the fundamentals

Transforming Vision into Fearless Action with Natalie Lavelock16 Sep 202600:24:47

In this episode, I talk with Natalie Lavelock about transforming vision into fearless action, and why that usually means taking the next step while fear is still in the room.Natalie is a Christian coach and leader who helps Kingdom entrepreneurs with mindset and clarity. She spent almost twenty years as a nurse and nursing educator before she chose the leap into business. We talk about specificity in your offer, the stories that keep new coaches stuck, outside perspective, Scripture that actually lands, and why there is no truly safe route — only the familiar one and the one God is asking you to take.If you have vision and keep circling the same fear, this conversation will help you ask a better question: what can I do next?Find Natalie at natalielavelock.com. Are Christians a Good Niche to Sell To?09 Sep 202600:14:34

In this episode, I take on a question that keeps coming up: are Christians a good niche to sell to?People have told me for years that Christians expect it free, that they will not spend, that focusing on a Christian audience is a hard way to grow. That has not been my experience. I talk about how big the Christian market actually is, the myth that Christians do not have money, and why your own stories about Christians and pricing show up in the sales conversation. If you feel called to serve a Christian niche and you have been second-guessing whether that can actually work, this one is for you.Free training: Land More Coaching Clients at landcoachingclients.com.

The 70-30 Rule That Makes You Better at Sales and Coaching05 Aug 202600:07:31

Have you ever heard of the 70-30 rule in coaching?

The idea is simple: Your prospect or client should do about 70% of the talking, while you do about 30%. Some experienced coaches recommend speaking even less.

In this episode, Justin explains why asking thoughtful questions can help you become a better coach and close more sales without feeling like you have to teach, pitch, or prove yourself throughout the conversation.

You’ll learn how to:

• Take the pressure off yourself during sales calls
• Lead conversations by asking better questions
• Move beyond surface-level answers
• Help prospects understand the real cost of staying stuck
• Stay present and listen with greater attention
• Use your audience’s own questions to create relevant content

Justin also shares several practical follow-up questions you can use to help prospects and clients think more deeply about where they are, what they want, and why solving the problem matters.

How to Set Goals You’ll Actually Accomplish in Your Coaching Business29 Jul 202600:09:05

Are your goals clear enough to actually guide your decisions?

In this episode of the Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches podcast, I’m talking about how to set business goals with greater specificity, clear deadlines, and practical accountability.

Many coaches know how to help their clients define what they want, but sometimes we don’t apply that same discipline to our own businesses.

I walk through several areas where clear goals matter, including revenue, impact, lifestyle, contribution, personal growth, and specific business milestones. I also share a simple framework we used recently at Christian Coaches Academy Live:

“I will ______ by ______.”

That simple sentence forces you to decide what you actually want to accomplish and when you intend to do it.

I also share real examples of coaches who moved forward after putting a specific date around a long-standing goal, including leaving a job to build a coaching business and finally launching a podcast after talking about it for years.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to:

• Identify the goals that matter most over the next 12 months

• Turn broad dreams into measurable commitments

• Use deadlines to create focus and accountability

• Break bigger goals into practical next steps

• Keep your goals visible through writing, conversation, prayer, and planning

A goal becomes much easier to act on when you can clearly answer two questions:

What will I do?

By when?

Choose a few goals that matter, put a date beside them, and begin building the plan that gets you there.

Finding the Right Pace for Building a Sustainable Coaching Business22 Jul 202600:09:11

Are you building your business too slowly, waiting until everything feels perfectly ready? Or are you moving so fast that your business feels chaotic, scattered, and exhausting?

In this episode of the Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches podcast, I’m sharing what it means to build at a peaceful pace. I learned this lesson through my own journey, from taking six years to earn my first $10,000 as a coach to building a multiple six-figure business with a more consistent and sustainable approach.

We’ll talk about how to recognize when fear, over-preparation, or perfectionism are keeping you from meaningful action, as well as what happens when you try to pursue too many strategies at once.

You’ll learn how to:

• Recognize whether you need to speed up or slow down

• Move from preparation into meaningful action

• Simplify your sales and marketing strategy

• Build consistent systems that support sustainable growth

• Create a business that leaves room for your faith, family, and community

• Discern the pace God may be calling you to in this season

Sometimes building at a peaceful pace means having the courage to move faster. Other times, it means saying no, simplifying, and focusing on fewer things long enough to see them work.

My hope is that this episode helps you step back, reflect, and ask a simple question: What needs to change so I can build this business at the right pace?

Struggling to Trust God With Your Business? Do These 3 Things15 Jul 202600:12:57

Have you been struggling with doubt, anxiety, or uncertainty about your coaching business?

Maybe you know God has called you to this work, but the results aren’t happening as quickly or consistently as you hoped. You’re praying, working, trying new strategies, and wondering what trusting God with your business growth is actually supposed to look like.

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, I’m sharing the three things I believe have to work together:

Prayer.

Surrender.

Action.

I talk about what I’ve experienced in my own business, including seasons when I’ve felt uncertain about what was next for Faith2Influence, and how spending more intentional time in prayer has changed the way I approach business decisions, sales, and growth.

We’ll talk about:

  • Why it’s okay to pray specifically for sales and business growth

  • What surrender looks like when you still have goals and responsibilities

  • Why surrender doesn’t mean becoming passive

  • How to release your grip on outcomes while still doing your best work

  • Why consistent action gives God opportunities to work through expected and unexpected paths

  • How to evaluate where you may be getting stuck in prayer, surrender, or action

Trusting God with your business doesn’t mean you stop learning, marketing, selling, networking, or having conversations.

You pray.

You surrender the outcomes.

And you keep taking faithful, focused action.

At the end of this episode, I also pray specifically for the Christian coaches, consultants, trainers, and entrepreneurs listening who are navigating fear, self-doubt, financial pressure, or uncertainty in their businesses.

Simple Commitments, Big Results08 Jul 202600:11:51

Growing a coaching business can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to post everywhere, build an email list, create a lead magnet, start a podcast, write a book, and follow every new marketing strategy.

But what if your business growth came down to one much smaller commitment?

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, I break down why consistently making your offer is one of the strongest indicators of whether your coaching business will grow. For many coaches, one to three sales conversations each week can create the clients, income, and impact they’ve been working toward.

You’ll learn:

• Why overwhelm often causes coaches to avoid the actions that matter most• How one sales conversation a week can create meaningful momentum• Why making 50 offers over the next year could transform your business• How a 90-minute weekly sales rhythm can support consistent growth• What different offer prices and monthly sales could mean for your annual revenue• How sales calls can become an expression of coaching, service, and your God-given mission

You don’t need to do everything at once. You need a simple system you’re willing to follow consistently.

A Better Way to Pursue What Matters with Dr. David H. Green01 Jul 202600:22:10

What does it look like to lead people through encouragement, service, and genuine care?

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, I’m talking with David H. Green about supportive leadership. David shares how his longtime relationship with the Ziglar family shaped his faith, priorities, and belief that great leadership begins by helping other people succeed.

We discuss the Ziglar Wheel of Life, how to recognize areas that need attention, and why balance may look different in every season. David also walks us through several important questions that can help us determine whether a dream or goal is truly worth pursuing.

In this conversation, you’ll learn:

→ How to identify the area of your life that needs your next step
→ Why your priorities may change during different seasons
→ How to determine whether a goal is truly yours
→ Five questions that can help you qualify a dream
→ Why emotional commitment matters when goals become difficult
→ How collaboration and community can help you move forward
→ A simple practice that can change how you see the people you lead

David reminds us that leadership isn’t about controlling people from the top. It’s about supporting them, encouraging them, and finding genuine joy in their growth.

How to Tell Stories That Connect with J. Loren Norris24 Jun 202600:32:22

Your audience doesn’t need your entire life story.

They need a meaningful moment that helps them feel seen, recognize what’s possible, and understand why you may be the right person to help them move forward.

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, I’m joined by J. Loren Norris, founder of Story Power Academy and a speaker at Christian Coaches Academy Live 2026.

J. Loren has coached government officials, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders across five nations. In our conversation, he explains how storytelling can help coaches, speakers, authors, and Christian entrepreneurs communicate their credibility without relying on a long résumé or a list of qualifications.

We discuss the difference between sharing a personal story for your own benefit and telling a story that genuinely serves the person listening. J. Loren also explains why the most useful stories are often built around a single recognizable moment rather than an entire personal journey.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

→ Why a credential alone doesn’t establish credibility
→ How client stories can demonstrate your experience and process
→ Why your audience may not care about your story in the way you expect
→ How to help listeners recognize themselves in the stories you tell
→ The three wins created by a story that deeply connects
→ Why authenticity and shared values build trust
→ How to make your story a moment instead of a memoir
→ Why speakers and coaches need a collection of stories
→ How to develop storytelling as a flexible skill rather than memorizing one perfect story
→ How observation can help you choose the right story for the people in front of you

One of my favorite ideas from this conversation is that you don’t need one perfect signature story. You need a growing collection of authentic moments and the ability to shape those moments for the audience you’re serving.

A strong story gives people the context, clarity, and credibility they need to recognize that you understand where they are and may be able to help them reach where they want to go.

Becoming A More Masterful Christian Coach17 Jun 202600:29:46

In this episode, I sit down with Brian Williams and Jonathan Armel of Two Master Coaches to talk about what it really looks like to coach clients at a deeper, more transformational level.

Brian and Jonathan are both master certified coaches through the ICF, and they bring decades of experience helping coaches grow in presence, skill, awareness, and integrity. We talk about the difference between simply giving advice and truly coaching, why preparation matters before every call, and how Christian coaches can surrender the outcome while still serving clients with excellence.

If you want to become the kind of coach who listens more deeply, asks better questions, and creates lasting transformation for your clients, this conversation will give you practical places to start.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Brian’s journey from a difficult personal season into coaching and purpose
  • Jonathan’s transition from high school teacher to coach trainer and mentor
  • Why coaching at a masterful level requires both skill and surrender
  • The importance of preparing your mind before a coaching call
  • Why great coaches listen more than they talk
  • How to ask questions that help clients gain deeper awareness
  • The difference between coaching the “doing” and coaching the “being”
  • Why the coach owns the process, but the client owns the destination
  • How faith shapes the way Brian and Jonathan show up for their clients
  • Their heart behind helping coaches create a greater impact

Masterful coaching is not about having all the answers. It is about being present enough to listen deeply, ask the right next question, and trust God with the outcome.

How to Turn Your Book Into More Coaching Clients10 Jun 202600:25:18

What if your book was not just a book, but one of the most powerful business tools you could create?

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, Justin Janowski talks with Patricio Ordonez about how Christian coaches, entrepreneurs, speakers, and aspiring authors can use a book to build authority, attract leads, open doors to speaking opportunities, and move people toward their coaching offers.

Patricio shares how he and his wife, Daniela, discovered their calling through years of trial, error, obedience, and imperfect action. Together, they now help faith-driven authors write, publish, and position their books as part of a purpose-driven business.

This conversation is especially valuable if you have ever wondered whether writing a book could help you grow your coaching business, or if you already have a book sitting on the shelf and you are not sure how to use it strategically.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

  • Why coaches should consider writing a book even if they do not see themselves as authors yet

  • How a book can create instant authority in your area of influence

  • Why your book should lead readers to breakthroughs, not just information

  • How to think about your ideal reader as someone you are uniquely called to serve

  • Why your book should connect to your message, framework, and offer

  • How to use a book as the entry point in your customer journey

  • Why book sales are not the only measure of success

  • How books can open doors to speaking, coaching, and client conversations

  • What the Kingdom Book Awards are and why Christian authors should consider submitting their work

Patricio will also be speaking at Christian Coaches Academy Live, happening July 15-17 in Milwaukee, where he will teach more on how to turn your book into more sales.

Who You Are Matters More Than What You Sell03 Jun 202600:07:15

Who you’re being matters more than what you’re selling.

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, Justin Janowski shares a simple but powerful reminder for Christian coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs: your business is not built only on what you offer or how you sell it. It is also built on who you are while you do it.

Justin reflects on his own early business failures, the lessons he learned about sales and marketing, and why integrity, generosity, and skill matter so much when you are building a meaningful business.

This episode is a call to stop focusing only on tactics and remember that people buy from people. Your values, your communication, your energy, your integrity, and your way of being are felt before you ever make the offer.

In this episode, Justin talks about:

  • Why who you are matters more than what you sell

  • The difference between focusing only on “what” and “how” versus honoring the “who”

  • Why Christian entrepreneurs are called to build with integrity

  • How being true to your word builds trust

  • Why generosity opens doors and strengthens relationships

  • The importance of becoming good at your craft, sales, marketing, and service

  • Why good can be a strong and faithful starting place

  • How to show up as the person God made you to be in business

Key takeaway:

As you figure out what to offer and how to grow, don’t forget the deeper foundation: who you are. Be true. Be generous. Be good.

If you want to become the kind of coach people trust before you ever make the offer, join us at CCA Live 2026. You’ll learn practical sales and business strategies while connecting with Christian coaches who are building with integrity, generosity, and excellence.f2itribe.com/ccalive2026

Overcoming Toxic Shame with Guest Mark Hanson27 May 202600:28:21

Have you ever struggled with shame, imposter syndrome, or the fear that you are not enough to do the work God has called you to do?

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, Justin Janowski talks with Mark Hanson about overcoming toxic shame, shutting down, and the inner stories that keep Christian coaches and entrepreneurs from showing up fully.

Mark is a pastor and coach who works with Christian men to help them overcome shame, stop shutting down, and stand fast in who God created them to be. In this conversation, Mark shares how shame affected his own life, ministry, marriage, and relationships, and how his healing journey eventually became part of the work he now does with others.

Justin and Mark unpack the difference between guilt and shame, how toxic shame creates the belief that “I am not enough,” and why imposter syndrome often keeps coaches from marketing, selling, sharing their story, and making their offer.

They also talk about why many coaches are called to serve people who are facing struggles they have personally walked through, and how honest, appropriate vulnerability can create deeper connection with the people you are called to help.

This episode is especially helpful for Christian coaches, consultants, entrepreneurs, and leaders who feel stuck because of fear, self-doubt, perfectionism, or the belief that they need to be further along before they can serve others.

In this episode, you’ll hear:

  • How Mark Hanson discovered his calling as a coach
  • Why many coaches serve people who are facing struggles they once faced
  • The difference between guilt and toxic shame
  • How shame creates the lie that “I am not enough”
  • Why imposter syndrome can keep Christian coaches from moving forward
  • How awareness becomes the first step toward change
  • Why exposure, grace, and safe relationships matter in healing
  • How your past struggles can become part of your message
  • A practical question to ask when shame is keeping you stuck

One of the key questions Mark encourages listeners to consider is:

What is it costing you to not be honest with yourself about what is going on in your life?

If toxic shame, imposter syndrome, or fear of being seen has been holding you back, this conversation will help you name what is happening and take a practical next step toward showing up with more honesty, courage, and purpose.

Power Jumps and Exponential Growth with guest Tony Child06 May 202600:29:39

Power Jumps, Faith, and the Mindset Shift That Changes Everything with Tony Child

You may think growth happens step-by-step.

But what if real transformation doesn’t come from slow

progress… What if it comes from a complete shift in how you see yourself, God, and what’s possible?

In this episode of the Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches Podcast, Justin Janowski sits down with entrepreneur, speaker, and CEO of Elevated Worldwide, Tony Child, to talk about power jumps - the kind of exponential growth that changes everything.

Tony shares his journey from a 15-year banking career to coaching high-level entrepreneurs, athletes, and leaders, and breaks down the mindset shifts that unlock rapid transformation in business and life.

If you’ve ever felt like you were made for more but didn’t know how to access it, this conversation will challenge how you think about faith, fear, identity, and growth.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

➡️ Why most people stay stuck in incremental growth instead of exponential breakthroughs

➡️ The difference between a “hostile” vs. “friendly” view of God - and why it matters

➡️ How belief (not strategy) is often the real barrier to success

➡️ What a “power jump” is and how to create one in your business

➡️ Why fear is tied to future thinking - and how to shift out of it

➡️ The real reason people say “no” to your offer (and how to handle it)

When you change how you see things, the things you see begin to change.

Growth doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from seeing differently, believing differently, and stepping into a new identity.

If you want to keep growing in this area, CCA Live 2026 is a place to step into these conversations at a deeper level.Join us at CCA Live 2026:

Ask and Lead Instead of Show and Tell in Sales11 Mar 202600:10:12

Why do so many sales conversations feel awkward, forced, or uncomfortable?

In this episode of Sales Strategies for Christian Coaches, Justin Janowski explains a simple but powerful shift that changes everything in sales conversations: moving from show and tell to ask and lead.

Many coaches think sales requires explaining their offer, pitching their program, and convincing people to buy. But the truth is that the most effective sales conversations look much more like coaching.

Instead of talking more about your offer, great sales conversations focus on asking thoughtful questions and helping the other person gain clarity about their goals, challenges, and the change they want to create.

When you do this well, the conversation becomes meaningful, empowering, and far more likely to lead to a yes.

Inside this episode, you’ll learn:

• Why “show and tell” sales conversations often fail

• The difference between explaining your offer and leading a conversation

• Why people buy their vision for change, not just your program

• The role emotional leverage plays in big decisions

• How asking the right questions creates clarity and commitment

• Why coaching-style sales conversations feel more natural and effective

If sales has ever felt uncomfortable or misaligned with who you are, this episode will help you see a better way forward.

The best sales conversations don’t feel like selling. They feel like leadership and coaching.
