In the final episode of Rink Wide until September, Jeff and Irfaan discuss the big news around the NHL, that of the Blues offer sheets to Edmonton's Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg. The role of "captain" is also discussed after the spectacle that was John Tavares passing off the Maple Leafs "C" to Auston Matthews. They boys wrap the show by going back 4 years to revisit the NHL's playoff bubble in August 2020.

It was an exciting end to a great series and a fantastic season. The Canucks lost 3-2 to the Oilers, after outperforming expectations all season long and bringing playoff hockey back to Vancouver. Although, they managed to hold Connor McDavid in check for the most part, the injuries were ultimately too much to overcome. We'd like to thank the Canucks for an amazing season...and also thank you, the faithful listeners of Rink Wide Vancouver. Stay tuned for some special episodes over the remainder of the playoffs and off season.

The Canucks were at home to face the Dallas Stars, who are off to an equally hot start this season. It had the potential to be a goaltending duel and it certainly was. Demko with a shutout and a save of the year candidate lead the Canucks to a 2-0 victory which moves the Canucks into second place in the West.

The Canucks took a short jaunt down to San Jose to face the winless Sharks and looked to avoid being the first to fall...and oh boy did the boys from Vancouver show up! Captain Quinn put up another 5 pts, to pad his lead in D scoring in the NHL, while Brock, JT, Petey, Hronek all put up strong numbers. Demko lost the shutout in the 3rd on a questionable goal that coach Rick was not going to bother disputing in such a blowout. Canucks come out on top 10-1!

Not a perfect game, but still another 2 points in the bank for the Canucks as they defeat Nashville for the second time this season 5-2 on Halloween night.  Petey with a Hatty and Captain Quinn with another 3pts, to go along with a perfect penalty kill.  It was enough to come out on top and improve to 6-2-1 to start the season.

Canucks see their 3 game win streak come to an end, on a night of special teams goals for both sides.  Tyler Myers with a shorthanded breakaway goal.  Casey Desmith suffers his first loss as a Canuck.  The Rangers take it in overtime to win 4-3.

The Canucks got off to a quick start as they stopped in Music City to face the Predators.  Secondary scoring was the story in Nashville on this night, as the Canucks hang on for a 3-2, to finish off the road trip with back to back wins, improving to 4-2 on the season.
