Return to what's true - you. RE-SELFING is a podcast about self discovery. It's about finding yourself and learning to live again after life's inevitable challenges. It's about what happens when things fall apart - and who you can become when you start to put them back together. If you're looking to find the light in the darkness - you're in the right place. Together we'll learn to move through hardships and the unknown, with trust and purpose, without pretending to be fine, to transcend into the life you want, and deserve, to live: a life of healing, peace, joy, love, beauty, abundance, meaning and fulfillment. I'm your host, Rachael Harrah. Before I turned 40 I didn't really know how hard life could be. Then, all at once, I found myself navigating multiple life altering losses. The life I'd built completely fell apart. Yet, through heartbreak and grief, I began to piece myself back together - and what I found was something truer and more whole than before. I promised myself that if I made it through, I'd share my story - and the stories of others - to bring more love and hope into the world for anyone else struggling. I'm still in the midst of my journey, but I'm no longer alone. And neither are you. We're in this together. So pour yourself a cup of tea and join me for heartfelt, uplifting conversations with thought leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, and real women just like you - all who have overcome. From the esoteric to the everyday, we'll chat personal growth, spiritual wisdom, health + wellness, relationships, resilience, creativity, midlife and more. This podcast is for you - and I'm so glad you're here. Foundational Living is now RE-SELFING. Original listeners of FL will still find inspiring conversations about style and simplicity here, now expanded to include a wider range of self development topics. Thanks for sticking around! Trendy vs. Current: Reshaping the Way We Think About Dressing for the Moment

jeudi 16 juin 2022Duration 10:43

Did you know that you can be stylish without the pressure, cost, and consumption of keeping up with the latest trends?

Exit trendy, and enter - current

Current is when you give a small nod to the broader fashion trends without being beholden to them. When your wardrobe is current you feel comfortable, stylish and confident.

Join me as I explore this idea, and walk away feeling less bound by the ever-changing and highly demanding trend cycle.

Plus, I come to grips with a gnawing question: Is my style Coastal Grandmother?

When Less is Truly More: Lessons From Wearing One Dress for 100 Days

jeudi 2 juin 2022Duration 42:19

Would you wear the same dress for 100 days straight? My guest today did just that, and learned so much about her style - and herself - in the process.

Before starting the Wool& 100 Day Dress challenge, Liesje Sandler felt limited in her clothing options as a plus size woman. Though she had always loved fashion, she felt that fashion didn't love her back. Fast forward to 100 days later, Liesje went from a wardrobe she described as "sad" to finding joy and confidence in her clothes - and having fun getting dressed.

In this episode we talk all about Liesje's journey and, ultimately, the transformative power of experimentation, being creative and getting uncomfortable. We explore how she became inspired by a diverse community challenging the traditional media ideals of what a body should look like. And we discuss choosing sustainable clothing over fast fashion, how having a few *right* pieces in your wardrobe can make up for having lots of *wrong* pieces and dressing with bright, bold statement colors.

Plus, hear Liesje's top tip if you're looking to try the 100 Day Dress Challenge for yourself.
