Helping Spirits, Ancestors, and Queer Medicine with Langston Kahn
Season 4 · Episode 13
mercredi 13 mai 2026 • Duration 48:06
In this episode of Queerly Beloved, Wil is joined by Langston Kahn, a Black, queer teacher and shamanic practitioner whose work focuses on radical human transformation, ancestral healing, and restoring an authentic relationship with our emotions.
Langston’s work lives at a powerful crossroads, weaving together somatic practice, contemporary shamanic traditions, initiations into traditions of the African diaspora, and deep relationship with helping spirits and ancestors.
In our conversation, we explore Langston’s origin story and the early spiritual experiences that helped shape his path. We talk about helping spirits, ancestral healing, and what it means to remember that support from the unseen world may already be reaching toward us.
We also dive into shamanism, what that word means, and how to approach this kind of spiritual work with integrity and discernment. Langston shares beautifully about the impact of colonialism on our relationship with ritual, ancestors, magic, community, and the sacred, and how healing may involve reclaiming ways of being that have been severed or forgotten.
This is a rich, mystical, grounded, and deeply nourishing conversation about spirit, lineage, queerness, healing, and what it means to become resilient, creative, and courageous enough to bring healing into a fractured culture.

ALIVENESS with Aya in Costa Rica (Solo Episode)
Season 4 · Episode 12
jeudi 30 avril 2026 • Duration 20:24
In this solo episode of Queerly Beloved, Wil shares reflections from a recent journey to Costa Rica, where he sat with Grandmother Ayahuasca and received powerful teachings about aliveness.
After moving through a season of heaviness, collective grief, personal transition, and emotional numbness, Wil felt called back to the jungle through a series of signs and synchronicities. What unfolded was a deep remembering: that aliveness is not just joy or happiness, but the willingness to feel the full range of human emotion like grief, gratitude, desire, tenderness, fear, sensuality, wonder, and everything in between.
Wil explores how the jungle itself became part of the medicine: the river, the organic meals, the nourishing conversations, the singing, the dancing, the screen-free spaciousness, and the daily ritual of swimming naked in the cold flowing water of the Tulärí River.
This episode is an invitation to examine where we may be numbing out, where we may have turned down the volume on our own lives, and what it means to return to the body, the heart, and the sacred experience of being fully here.
This episode is for anyone who has been feeling numb, disconnected, overwhelmed, or like they are watching their life instead of fully living it.
May it serve as a reminder that your aliveness is already within you, waiting to be remembered.
You are not here just to just get through your life.
You are here to live it.
Wil will be returning to the same retreat center in Costa Rica mentioned here to host an Awakened Hearts New Year’s Eve Retreat: A Jungle Journey into Connection, Authenticity and Aliveness.
This 7-day retreat will be an intimate gathering for GBTQ men to reconnect with their hearts, release old stories and patterns, and step into more authentic and alive ways of being, while being surrounded by the beauty of the Costa Rican jungle.

Discovering Discernment
Season 4 · Episode 3
jeudi 18 décembre 2025 • Duration 23:55
In this first solo episode of the season, Wil explores discernment- the skill of knowing what’s inner truth and what’s conditioned noise, so you can choose from your center. Using the metaphor of an “inner committee” (intuition, wisdom, higher guidance… plus anxiety, ego, craving, people-pleasing, and trauma responses), Wil breaks down how different inner voices sound, feel, and move in the body.
Wil also shares a personal story about a big decision made shortly after an ayahuasca ceremony — a moment when his discernment was vulnerable, his body signaled “no,” and that signal was reframed in a way that led to financial stress and credit card debt. The lesson: not every edge is expansion, and sometimes a “no” is your nervous system’s wisdom doing its job.
You’ll leave with practical questions, grounding tools, and a simple body-based practice you can use today — especially when you’re spinning, ruminating, or feeling urgency around a choice.
In this episode, we cover:
- A clear definition of discernment: inner truth vs conditioned noise
- A real-life example of discernment getting hijacked (and the cost of ignoring body wisdom)
- The difference between intuition and anxiety (calm clarity vs urgency and catastrophe)
- How ego can sound “high standards” but actually be fear of not-enoughness
- People-pleasing signals (polite, self-erasing, peace-keeping at the cost of truth)
- Trauma responses (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) and how protectors can be wise but outdated
- Craving (sneaky, graspy, “just one more thing and then I’ll be okay” energy)
- A queer-specific pattern: the proving/belonging hijack (desperation dressed as guidance)
Discernment cues to use:
- Intuition feels calm, simple, grounded, and steady over time
- Anxiety feels urgent, spiraling, and catastrophic
- Ego focuses on image, status, comparison, and proving worth
- People-pleasing prioritizes others’ comfort over your truth
- Trauma response feels intense, controlling, or numbing/disassociative
- Craving bargains and grasps for reassurance, signs, purchases, or certainty
Questions to support discernment:
- Does this feel urgent? (Urgency often points to anxiety/craving/trauma response.)
- Is this coming from love or fear? (And: is it current-day truth or old protection?)
- Does this move me toward wholeness… or performance?
- What happens if I wait 24 hours? (Intuition stays steady; anxiety escalates; craving bargains; ego postures; people-pleasing backpedals.)
Tiny practice to try today:
- Hand on chest, hand on belly.
- Take a slow breath (longer exhale than inhale).
- Ask: “Which voice is speaking right now?”
- Get curious — and invite the unhelpful committee members to step out of the boardroom.
Closing intention:
Wil invites you into 2026 with more self-trust, more alignment, and more freedom — choosing what’s loving, true, and grounded rather than what’s loud, urgent, or performative.

Aligning Your Soul Calling and Your Business with Beth Weinstein
Season 4 · Episode 2
mercredi 3 décembre 2025 • Duration 01:00:59
In this episode of Queerly Beloved, Wil is joined by Beth Weinstein, a Spiritual Business Coach & Soul Liberation Guide, three-time entrepreneur, certified Master Transformational NLP practitioner, and a leading voice in soul-led business and psychedelic-assisted transformation. Beth has guided hundreds of visionary leaders, changemakers, and psychedelic pioneers to step into their purpose, grow aligned businesses, and serve from a place of deep spiritual integrity.
Together, Wil and Beth trace her journey from overworked fashion-industry “modern day slavery” to a life led by ceremony, intuition, and service. They explore soul callings, chanting and chakra work, equinox rituals, and what it really takes — practically and spiritually — to move from a safe-but-soul-crushing career into a business that feels like your true path.
In this episode, we explore:
- Burning Man, ceremony, and drag as sacred liminal spaces for radical self-expression and liberation
- Equinox ceremonies, the Wheel of the Year, and using seasonal shifts as portals for intention, release, and renewal
- Time scarcity vs. spaciousness: shifting from “I don’t have time” to “What am I truly prioritizing?”
- A breakdown in the back of a tuk-tuk, a mysterious illness, and the soul-level question: “Do you want to live or do you want to die?”
- Practical ways to move from a misaligned job into your calling: planting seeds, staying grounded, getting support, and letting the universe “meet you halfway”
- What it really means to build a soul-led business — listening to intuition, following synchronicities, and balancing action with surrender
- Words as spells: speaking your desires out loud, declaring your path, and letting opportunities and allies show up
- Imagining your purpose if money didn’t exist or the current system collapsed — and orienting your work around service, community, and what your soul is here to give

Making the Spiritual Political with Yaron “Dashboard” Schweizer
Season 3 · Episode 75
mercredi 15 octobre 2025 • Duration 01:25:58
In this final episode of season three of Queerly Beloved, I drop in with Yaron “Dashboard” Schweizer: a community weaver, theatre maker, and director of Chinkapin Craftstead. From kibbutz days to the Eggplant Faerie Players to a hand-built, off-grid life in rural Tennessee, Dashboard has been practicing the art of community living for decades. We start with a conversation about the tender tension of our time: holding grief and rage without losing levity, and how joy can be a sustainable form of resistance.
About Our GuestYaron “Dashboard” Schweizer has been committed to community living and organizing—and to theatre acting and directing—for most of their life. They lived on a kibbutz as a young adult, studied acting in New York City, and moved to rural Tennessee in 1994. A former member of the Eggplant Faerie Players, Dashboard toured nationally with multiple shows. In 2004, they and their partner joined friends in a hollow near Woodbury, hand-building their off-grid home. Dashboard now serves as director of Chinkapin Craftstead, a nonprofit queer arts organization uplifting queer, trans, and BIPOC voices. 💚
Other themes we explore:- Visible allyship & solidarity: what a keffiyeh signals, showing up thoughtfully, and taking responsibility without collapsing into despair.
- Community (beyond the buzzword): the gift and the grit—why conflict can be medicine, and how chosen family keeps us brave.
- From kibbutz to Radical Faeries: homophobia, leaving, arriving, and finding a movement that makes room for your full self.
- Theatre x ritual x politics: ACT UP echoes, a Fairy Witch coven, ritual theatre, and intergenerational magic at Chinkapin (including the revival of Bar Dykes).
- Inanna’s descent & Venus cycles: shedding even the identities we love to remember who we are beneath them—and bringing that medicine back to the village.
- Earth-based spirituality & land: practicing on stolen land, indigenous rights, and why “all liberation is one liberation.
- “They’re coming for our bodies—but really, they’re coming for our joy.”
- “Community that isn’t self-aware can press people down; community at its best lifts us into who we’re becoming.”
- ““Palestinian liberation is the collective tissue of our collective liberation”
