017 - Frieda Möcker - Implementing Product Led People Ops + Building a Company Behaving Awesomely
Season 1 · Episode 17
mercredi 6 décembre 2023 • Duration 01:15:55
Episode Summary:
- Transitioning from IC to People Manager
- How Frieda got past her biggest bottle neck... Herself!
- Finding confidence as a Leader
- Getting started with Product Led People Ops
- Co-creating a PX vision: Company Behaving Awesomely
If you are just starting out as a first time Head of People OR first time People Manager, this was such a refreshing conversation.
It's REALLY hard to transition from an individual contributor role to managing people. Most of us struggle with it, I know I did!
I have spend a lot time with Frieda over the last few months and have always been struck by her bias for action and conviction in her work. It was interesting (and comforting) to hear that this didn't come naturally to Frieda either, it's something she has actively worked on following some tough feedback!
Frieda also shares how she is co-creating the vision and ways of working with her time to switch from traditional HR to Product Led People OPs, so if you are also curious about how to get started with that, you will love this chat!
As always, I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope that you do too!

014 - Virgile Raingeard - Innovating Compensation Benchmarking & Early Stage Startup Culture
Season 1 · Episode 14
mardi 10 octobre 2023 • Duration 01:00:21
Booooom 💥
This was a really great conversation and one I had been looking forward to for a while. I have been following Figures and the work Virgile have been doing with Figures for the last year or so.
Not only is their work impactful and a much needed innovation to compensation benchmarking and transparency, but their internal culture also seems to be really solid and genuinely unique
I wanted to take a "look under the hood" in this conversation with Virgile and it was a lot of fun!
Some of the conversational threads we explored:
💡The Figures founding origin story
💡Creating a culture of entrepreneurship
💡Generational challenges to traditional working models
💡The value (and perils) of high work ethic
💡Accurate and ethical salary benchmarking
💡Running compensation reviews at scale
💡Building culture in an early stage start-up
💡4 day work week Vs 9 day fortnight
💡Embedding meaningful and actionable cultural values and behaviours
...all in less than an hour 🤯😅
