Ep 219 - Pierce Osborn - Off Grid Throttles - Run Into The Sky

I grew up in NJ and studied Mechanical Engineering at Penn State, graduating in 2014. My career began at Dentsply Sirona, where I designed components for the Cavitron system. I then worked as a new product engineer at Yamaha, focusing on outfitting for their waverunners. At Heckler and Koch, I designed various weapon systems, including the high-profile NGSW (Next Gen Squad Weapon) project. My last role was lead design engineer at Daniel Defense, where I developed the DDPCC weapon system, set to be released later this year. In 2018, I began flying and founded Off-Grid Aviation in 2020 to innovate better cruise control mechanisms for paramotors. Leveraging my background in product development, I moved from my garage to a proper workshop, and Off-Grid Aviation is now my primary occupation. So just a little bit about me.. I've been flying almost 6 years now I got my instructor rating last year. I started my company Patriot Paramotor LLC. God, Country, Paramotors is the theme I guess you could say. Outside of Paramotoring I use to body build and I'm a big hunter I normally go out west every year for a elk hunt or some other big game. I live just north of Atlanta GA my home training field is Hodges field where we have the bad apples fly in. Really big on helping veterans get into the sport or first responders
