Special Retreat Series: How to Be a Psychic Medium Virtual Retreat for Spiritual Seekers

In this very special retreat series, I, Marta the Medium 💖 — psychic medium, mentor, and your host — am opening the doors to the most magical conversations from the How to Be a Psychic Medium Virtual Retreat I hosted. Over 5 days, we gathered with seekers, intuitives, and healers to explore the art of psychic connection, mediumship, and living a soul-led life. 🌟

In this episode, we are swept into a world of wonder with the enchanting Karen Kay 🧚‍♀️, the Fairy Whisperer.

Karen is a bestselling Hay House author who connects to the elemental realms, bringing through ancient wisdom from fairies, mermaids, and unicorns into our human world.

Her friendship with the fairies began in childhood, collecting rose petals in her grandmother’s garden to make perfume for the flower fairies. She is related to the renowned fairy poet Walter De La Mare and once worked as a BBC news editor — a far cry from her current role as a beloved voice on TV, radio, and festival stages across the UK.

Karen is the founder and editor-in-chief of FAE Magazine (Faeries and Enchantment) and the visionary behind the 3 Wishes Fairy Festival and other magical events in Glastonbury.

Aligning Style with Soul: Falling in Love with Yourself Through Fashion with Marisol Colette

jeudi 21 novembre 2024Duration 31:05

🎙️ Podcast Recap: Episode 29 of the Perfectly Imperfect Spiritual Podcast 🎙️

✨ Guest: Marisol Colette, The Fashion Therapist

This week, I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Marisol Colette, a Fashion Consultant and Psychotherapist who helps clients align their style to their soul by not only looking good but feeling good, too, giving them the courage to show up in the world in new and notable ways. By leading from the heart, Marisol brings a level of consciousness that’s not incorporated in traditional styling. Her clients find a more authentic expression of themselves and are left feeling comfortable and confident in everything they wear so that they can be comfortable and confident in everything they do.

Marisol shared her incredible journey of merging psychotherapy with fashion, creating a transformative approach that goes beyond aesthetics to foster emotional, spiritual, and personal alignment.

Here are some highlights from our conversation:

💬 Aligning Style to the Soul: Marisol explained her unique process of helping clients discover their authentic style by understanding their emotions, values, and personal history. She shared how this alignment creates a ripple effect of confidence and empowerment in all areas of life.

💡 Breaking Free from Trends: We discussed how societal norms and fast-fashion trends can disconnect people from their true selves—and how Marisol guides clients to rediscover their individuality and redefine what "fashion" means to them.]

💖 Falling in Love with Yourself and Your Body: Marisol shared profound insights into how we can start appreciating and loving our bodies exactly as they are. By choosing clothes that fit well and honour our unique shapes, we create an act of self-love, shifting our mindset from criticism to celebration.

It’s Not Vanity—It’s Alignment:
Marisol tackled the misconception that caring about your appearance is vain. She explained how fashion can be an intentional practice of self-expression and self-care, helping you align your outer self with who you are on the inside. When you dress with intention, you can transform how you see yourself—and how you feel about yourself.

💬 Breaking Free from the Past:
Many of us have negative associations with our bodies or past style choices. Marisol shared how she helps clients rewrite these stories, using fashion as a tool for healing and empowerment.

✨ Starting Your Journey: For anyone feeling disconnected from their wardrobe, Marisol offered simple steps to begin aligning their style with their soul, including listening to your emotions and choosing pieces that truly make you feel you.

🎧 Whether you’re a fashion lover or simply curious about how what you wear can influence how you feel, this episode is filled with inspiration, insight, and actionable steps to start showing up as the most authentic version of yourself.

The power of nature, ancient Indigenous wisdom and the human existence:a conversation with Marc-John

mardi 1 octobre 2024Duration 38:35

In the 27th episode of the Perfectly Imperfect Spiritual Podcast, I spoke with Marc-John co-founder and co-director of Native Wisdom Hub, an ethical for-profit company that seeks to guide and steward the world's current renaissance in popularity of psychedelic healing in ways rooted in ethics and cultural reciprocity.

Collaborating directly with the indigenous populations with whom the company works, Marc-John and his wife, Erika, who is also of an indigenous Peruvian lineage, offer deeply immersive plant medicine healing retreats in Peru. Marc-John also offers private coaching and mentoring to high performers, those seeking to transition into more fulfilling roles in life, and he provides peer support to psychedelic leaders and practitioners. He lives with his wife and two children between Scotland and Peru. In the episode, Marc-John talked about our interconnectedness to each other and the importance of communities in people’s pursuit of self-awareness. We discussed the importance of Mother Earth and how being rooted in her can support us as human beings, as well as the intelligence of nature. Marc-John elaborated on how, in a world where we are so disconnected from ourselves and from nature, we can allow nature to connect us to our path and support us on our journey. Marc-John shared some of the transformations that he witnessed in himself while supporting others and in others while leading plant medicine healing retreats, and delved into how we can heal our mind, body, and spirit through plant medicine healing. We also discussed the power of intentions and the ability to co-create our reality while highlighting the importance of patience and trust in the journey. Additionally, Marc-John expanded on the power of ancient indigenous wisdom and shared some truths that can hopefully awaken viewers and listeners who are deeply embedded in modern living, showing how they might, should they choose to, begin their own self-discovery journeys. Spirit is in everything, everywhere, and in each of us. We talked about so much more but to find out about what exactly go and watch the episode. Intuitive eating and moving your body: A conversation with Jessica Jamison

samedi 31 août 2024Duration 42:21

In the 26th episode of the Perfectly Imperfect Spiritual Podcast, I spoke withJessica Jamison a licensed mental health counsellor and certified personal trainer offering both services inside her business Revolution Health. She supports chronic dieters in finding peace with food, fitness, and their bodies. Her specialities in therapy include binge eating, emotional eating, and body image. For personal training, she specialises in helping those with mental health challenges (anxiety, depression, EDs, ADHD, etc.) feel strong and confident physically through strength training and intuitive movement. She practices from a non-diet, weight-inclusive, and Health at Every Size approach. If you can’t tell by her credentials, she is PASSIONATE about the mind-body connection. As someone who recovered from an ED and overexercise and hated her body for YEARS…she gets it. Today, she loves lifting weights almost as much as she loves eating donuts! Jess is also a Mom of 2 who enjoys spending time with her family on their many adventures.

In the episode, Jessica discussed how intuitive eating and exercising can support a person on various levels, including improving body image.

Jessica shared her personal story of how liberating it was for her to discover intuitive eating and exercising, freeing herself from the external expectations associated with diet culture and the belief that she needed to adhere to a specific exercise routine, often leading to overexercising.

She provided many useful ways for beginning intuitive eating and incorporating more movement into one's life. She also explained how parents can support their children with their body image and how women can continue eating and moving intuitively in a relationship, emphasizing the importance of setting boundaries.

Additionally, the episode covered how women can support their partners in their workout and nutrition routines without compromising their own needs. There were many more insightful discussions in the episode - make sure to watch it to find out more!

Se*x, pleasure and magic: A conversation with Shauna Stewart

vendredi 30 août 2024Duration 47:17

In the 25th episode of the Perfectly Imperfect Spiritual Podcast, I spoke with Shauna Stewart, the founder of Linger Boutique, a lingerie and sexual wellness boutique in Washington State and the host of Life Turned On Podcast where she explores stories of sexual self-discovery in midlife and beyond.  A few short years ago she was probably the most repressed, vanilla, middle-aged cusping, homeschool mom of two to have ever dreamed of opening a pleasure boutique, yet here we are. After a 15-year career in tourism and economic development, Shauna is now committed to helping women feel more connected and alive by normalizing rest and pleasure. Shauna emphasised the importance of pleasure in her life, which allowed her to heal her body and rediscover herself. She shared touching stories of empowering women with their sexuality, helping them give themselves permission to connect with their bodies and normalise experiencing pleasure. This empowered them to feel much more "turned on" by life and all its beautiful experiences. Shauna also discussed women's orgasms, the types of sex toys available in her store, and the transformative effect of shopping at her store. We also delved into the significance of communication and vulnerability in relationships, and how relationships and sex lives grow and evolve. We covered so much more about se*x, pleasure and sexuality in this episode.

A conversation with Holly Finucan on the power of the subconscious mind, healing and many more.

Season 1 · Episode 23

mardi 6 août 2024Duration 44:03

In the 23rd episode of the Perfectly Imperfect Spiritual Podcast, I spoke with Holly Finucan who is a dedicated Intuitive Healer, and Reiki Master, requiring the subconscious mind and single mother to her beautiful daughter, Lexi. Holly’s journey through life has been shaped by overcoming significant trauma, including depression, suicide, postpartum psychosis, and toxic relationships. While many might view these experiences as setbacks, Holly embraced them as catalysts for personal growth and transformation. This path has led her to create a platform to support others in overcoming their own challenges and living their best lives. Holly utilises Rapid Resolution Therapy to address the deep-rooted issues that contribute to negative emotions, limiting beliefs, and destructive behaviours. This method clears the mind of negative beliefs, reorients it towards new possibilities, and helps individuals move beyond past regrets, fears, shame, guilt, resentment, anger, and future anxieties. By releasing blocked energy and resolving conflicts in the unconscious mind, clients can experience lasting, positive change, leading to true physical and emotional healing. Holly’s mission is to help others find relief and empowerment, transforming their pain into a pathway for a brighter, more fulfilling future.
In the episode, Holly shared her story of experiencing postpartum psychosis and how the medical professionals tried to impose onto her a belief that the diagnosis she was given was part of her identity, something that you have to live with. Holly knew deep inside herself that there was a different way and that’s when Reiki Healing found her. In the episode, Holly also mentions the role that our subconscious mind has in storing and reliving certain traumatic events. Holly then kindly took me through a practice of removing my fearful thoughts from my subconscious mind relating to the fear of death connected to my car accident. It has been an honour speaking with you.
