Initially, I wasn't certain how mixing in her current releases with her biggest hits from 10, 15 years ago would work so I dropped in several updated bootlegs that stayed true to the originals, while modernizing those songs for today's dance floors. I kept several of the original remixes from the time of their release because they work just as well now as they did when they were originally released. I finally got around to perfecting the remastering of older material to tone down pitchy high ssss you hear in some songs, expanded the dynamics on others that sounded a bit flat and punching up the bass to round it out so it didn't sound too cold like much of the original software used to create the mixes. This is a time-consuming process but with the help of ChatGPT, it made it much easier to be able to fine-tune these settings. I couldn't be happier and plan on deploying some of these techniques in future releases (especially Circuit & Anthems where many of the DJs don't use plugins for a more professional sound). All the remaining big hits like "On A Night Like This," "Spinnig Around," "Slow," "Love At First Sight," "Into the Blue," "The One," and "Breathe" are included here along with many current releases since "Tension" plus rare gems that never charted in the U.S. but had a minor prescence elsewhere. This truly is the Kylie Minogue wet dream all the gay boys have been waiting for. I only hope that I did the Queen justice. I want ot thank Jack P, Dirk S, Ian A, Paul S, Andrew A, Hans R, David J, Paul B, Taylor OD, Joe S, Glenn A, Nicholas J, Earl K, Michael B, Al F, Adam G, Ignacio G, Casper Y, Doug B, and Raul G for their continued support. I literally could not do this without your help. I you haven't already, please consider donating to our efforts in bringing you the finest dance club music anywhere on the internet. Kylie is Australia's biggest-selling artist, with over 80 million albums sold worldwide. She’s considered the "Princess of Pop" behind Madonna, the "Queen of Pop," and is adored by millions of gay men around the globe. Currently, she’s holding a residency at the Venetian in Las Vegas for a series of sold-out shows and has recently signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix for an upcoming documentary about her life. It was a long time coming when Kylie joined Madonna on her "Celebration Tour" for a performance of the iconic Gloria Gaynor classic "I Will Survive" and Kylie's own "Can't Get You Out of My Head." While I can no longer attend concerts, just watching two of my all-time favorite divas perform together brought tears to my eyes. Weird, I know—because I rarely get emotional, especially over artists I worship but treat as any other person in life—but it really hit me hard. Here at Party Favorz, we adore Kylie Minogue and all her achievements, which is why we’re honoring her with her third induction into the Diva Hall of Fame. These two volumes (with Volume II dropping next weekend) are packed with all of Kylie’s biggest hits, along with her current releases and collaborations. The sets feature some original remixes and a few bootlegs, blending her classic tracks with the current music scene. These sets bring Kylie into the 21st century, where old and new complement each other for a seamless tribute like no other. In my last post, I mentioned that downloading these sets would require a $10 donation per volume. While I have the ability to set that up, I just don’t have the time right now because I’m juggling other issues (recently discussed) along with managing this podcast. So, these two volumes—and everything else for the remainder of the year—will remain free for all to enjoy. However, I know that two of you are posting some of these mixes on Mixcloud (yes, I know who you are) and House-Mixes.com, and passing off the work as your own. I really wish you wouldn’t because it hurts my traffic and my ability to sustain this podcast through donations which doesn't even cover my monthly costs. I’m too busy to issue takedown notices, but I’m appealing to your better angels by asking you nicely to stop. As I mentioned earlier, Volume II will drop next weekend. After that, Party Favorz will be back to full capacity. I subscribe to my DJ service in 90-day periods, and I had to cancel it because of money issues. I’m waiting until after the 15th to renew,

This edition's cover art is courtesy of Mark De Lange, also known as Dirty Disco. Mark isn't just a prodigious and talented DJ who helps keep many of our Circuit and Anthems sets glued together; he's also a businessman, entrepreneur, and a genuinely nice guy. The hot daddy aspect is just an added bonus. Party Favorz wanted to celebrate this edition with real people we know, and it's an honor that Mark shared a variety of photos with us to choose for the cover. He even shared more than we asked for, but let's just say, we're impressed. If you find yourself in Houston (TX) anytime soon, head on over to the Montrose area and drop by his bar, the Houston Eagle (611 Hyde Park, Houston, TX 77006) where he spins on Sundays and say hi. Tell him Party Favorz sent you. The Importance of Voting in 2024 As we celebrate Gay Pride month, it's crucial to address some pressing issues. It's an election year, folks, and it's the single most important one in our lifetime. It was true in 2016 when we urged everyone to vote for Clinton, but many couldn't get past the email controversy despite her being the most qualified person to ever run for office. Her loss resulted in a narcissistic, six-times-bankrupt, and morally corrupt individual holding the highest seat in our nation, which allowed him to install three conservative justices on the Supreme Court, giving them a majority. Since then, they've rolled back voting rights, overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade, and expanded religious liberties to the point where doctors and pharmacists can openly discriminate against women, minorities, and the LGBTQ community without fear of punishment through state laws barring discrimination. Effectively, they've polluted our Constitution and severely restricted our 14th Amendment rights, and they're only getting started. The Threats to LGBTQ Rights Many of the hard-fought rights LGBTQ people have fought for, like marriage equality, sodomy laws, and the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, have been won by the struggles and willingness of the gay community to fight for the equal rights we're guaranteed under the Constitution. Now, all of it—ALL OF IT—is on the chopping block. After overturning Roe v. Wade, Justice Thomas, in his concurring opinion, went even further, inviting lawsuits to overturn contraception and marriage equality. Don't be fooled; this court is not comprised of strict constitutionalists but rather activist judges who are attempting to inje...

This set offers a whole lot Sunday afternoon power tracks to compliment your cocktails. Lately, Dirty Disco has been on a tear with one solid remix after another and the Spring Tea Dance Edition 2022 is chock-full of them. I had more Disco Gurls, Block & Crown, and Ghostmasters but most of those tracks have been moved to either the next Disco House set or Thank God It's Disco series. This set begins with a low simmer but quickly sizzles to a low boil before finally cooling down with two notable entries to close it out. We have the excellent Eric Kupper remix of Reba McEntire's 'Does He Love You' and a new Diana Ross track 'I Still Believe' with Purple Disco Machine at the helm. Reba sounds stronger than ever on this 2009 classic and while still excellent — Diana's voice is beginning to show strain. Both ladies are DIVAS in their own right and the fact that they're still making great music is a testament to their iconic status within their industries. I had started working on the next Funky House installment but to be honest, the music just isn't there...yet. It's generally the easiest series to whip up but too many of the biggest songs just fell flat (IMHO). So, I've pushed that back to its original scheduled release for two weeks from now and will begin compiling the set list for the Spring Edition 2022 to be released (fingers crossed) next week. First Splash Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 202 May 2008
Well, it looks as if I'm way ahead of the curve. I managed to clean up my computer, replace the motherboard, backup everything to two external hard drives (for anal retentive sake), and reinstalled Vista now that SP1 is out. I also switched to DSL from Cable (good riddance). So where did I find the time to knock this edition out you ask? I threw all the songs together in a giant mix and burned it to an mp3 disc so I could preview the tunes I wanted to use for this mix while I was working on the computer. Not only was the mix spectacular, I was able to go back and make a handful of tweaks and of course, edits to cut the time under 80 minutes per mix for those that like to burn to disc. All told I might have spent 3 hours in total in the mix. I can assure you, it's rare that all the songs I want to use just fall into place, but it does happen. Even though First Splash isn't until the end of the Month, I wanted to ensure there was no overlapping with my Pride Edition that comes out in June. So spacing these mixes out just made good sense. For those of you who may be wondering what First Splash is, it is Memorial Day weekend in Austin, TX. Much like your White Party and its brethren, this is a major Gay celebration that goes on all weekend. Typically considered the time of year when you're ready to shed all your clothes for more suitable attire befitting the season. You can certainly do that at "Hippie Hollow" a nudist area just off the lake. If you've never been, you ought to check it out. There's a newer First Splash that started on South Padre Island back in 2000. I was asked to spin two years in a row for the event and the accompanying "Last Splash" which occurs on Labor Day weekend. Though small at the time, it's well on its way to being a viable competitor to the one in Austin. "The Upper Deck" owner has been buying up all the property down the street where his hotel is located and had plans to build a giant indoor club to allow the party to go on all night. I haven't been back in a while, I guess maybe I should. I really like this mix. Side one is chock full of cheez. Mind you, not that government cheez, but grade 'A' quality cheez. Nevertheless, still cheez...LOL. As the mix progresses, it begins to get deeper about 2/3 of the way down. Side two picks up where mix 1 leaves off and holds steady until the end, where I had to throw in one last slice of cheez, an updated version of the eighties NRG classic "So Many Many, So Little Time". All in all, this is one solid mix that I'm very proud of and I hope will get the boys all excited about Summer! Yay, the warmer weather is on its way and it's time to get all sweaty on the dancefloor again. I still have a few more things that need to be taken care of, so I may or may not be back this next weekend with my next update. I decided to go ahead and knock out my next Electro-Funk Edition followed by the next installment of the Classix Edition that was originally promised. I'll see how everything pans out, but those of you that regularly visit my blog, know me well enough that I just can't stay away. Until then, everyone have a great weekend and as always...ENJOY! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Deep Edition 2008 v5 [Pt. 1 & 2]27 Apr 2008
Sorry for the delay, but Comcast is up to no good again. Previously they had been throttling my uploads around an average of 55 kb/s, but are now limiting it around 5 kb/s. Heck, with those kind of speeds, who needs cable when dial up is much faster? That's ok. I went ahead and switched to AT&T which I should have up and running no later than Tuesday. It has been nothing short of a nightmare with Comcast. Their commercials always talk about "how fast they are" and their service is "Comcastic" et. al. Since switching from DSL to cable, I can honestly testify that their service is purely "Comcraptic". Slow speeds, constant connection losses and now the throttling of my uploads to the point where it's impossible to get one of my podcasts' uploaded, is completely unacceptable. Whether I'm uploading to Podbean, Flickr or Mozy (online storage), their service makes it impossible to get anything done without ripping out my hair. Oh wait, I just shaved it off this past weekend, so I guess a better analogy would be in order. Regardless, you get my point. What's funny (or maybe not), I called in yesterday for my weekly bitchfest with their support department. As always, they check the lines from their end and "claim everything tests fine". If that's the case, then please explain to me why my Internet service went down for two hours yesterday evening, and then when it came back up, all was fine in Comcrapticland? Coincidence? I think not. If you are experiencing this type of poor quality Internet experience with your ISP, click on the Comcast image on the left hand side and sign up to make your voice heard. Net neutrality is something that's been debated for a long time now, and stands a much better chance of passage now that the Democrats are in charge. Naturally, the ISP's are against it. Why you ask? Because companies like Comcast have oversold their capacity to the point of not being able to viably sustain their networks. Meanwhile, they stifle competition in the areas they serve, ensuring their monopolistic ventures continue unquestioned and unabated with their already poor quality service. Consequently, they are devising ways to start charging customers for the amount of bandwidth they consume each month. I'm sorry, but the whole point of the Internet and faster connections was to allow people to be more productive while providing an overall better user experience. Unfortunately, it's having the opposite affect. Those of you that access the Internet wirelessly through your cell phones, your next. At what point do we as citizens demand we get the service the ISP's promise (and that we pay for) but refuse to deliver? The time is now to speak up and let Congress know that you're "mad as hell and you're NOT going to take it anymore". Alright, I'll step down from my soapbox for now...on to the music! As promised, Party Favorz is serving up another installment of the Deep Edition this week. This time around, the music leans heavily towards a more progressive and tech house sound. From Eric Prydz' now classic "Pjanoo" to Mark Knight's classic update of "Man With The Red Face" or House Music United's "Yes We Can" this is some serious electronica. Needless to say, this is NOT your parents house music. Listen very closely, as the layer's continue to build one on top of the other like a stack of heaping pancakes. Before you know it, you'll be cooled down on side two with some whip cream and blueberry's. On the latter song, you'll notice HMU dropped in one of Barak Obama's inspirational speeches. While this is in no way an endorsement of his candidacy, the guy can sure give one heck of an inspiring totally prepared speech (sorry had to get that jab in). Take advantage of these mixes, because as we start sliding into Summer, I won't be doing any of the Deep Editions for a while. Going into the next few months, my primary focus will be on the "House, Electro, Funky & Mainstream Club Editions".
Deep Edition 2008 v4 [Pt. 1 & 2]25 Apr 2008
Well, so much for the projects I had planned.  It always seems that no matter what I try to arrange, my timing is always off.  That's okay because you guys benefit from my delays.  In fact, not only do you get my latest Deep Edition v4, tomorrow you get v5 as well!  Hey, it's a twofer, not too shabby. While this mix is definitely more down the deep house path with a little tech house thrown in for good measure, tomorrow's update will be a combination of progressive house and tech house just to mix things up a bit.  Between both updates, you get the hottest and most current tunes in their respective genres.  Not a bad deal at all. I'm pleased with the way things are going for the downloads.  Looks like we no longer have bandwidth concerns which make downloading less tedious.  It also looks like many of you jumped on the iTunes bandwagon as well.  I'm glad you like it.  Make sure you click the "subscribe" button in iTunes to ensure delivery of my podcasts. Those of you who do not use iTunes can still be notified via email updates or your favorite reader (i.e. Yahoo!, Google, etc.)  So if you haven't done that yet, whatcha waitin' for?  Also, you may have noticed I'm playing around with the track listing format.  I'm providing a start time for each track that can later be used to split the files up for those of you more technically inclined.  Star ratings and reviews will return after my break. I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend like I am.  I'll be back tomorrow with one last update before I officially take a break.  Enjoy! Funky House Edition 2008 Volume 2 | Pt. 1 & 219 Apr 2008
I finally got this thing wrapped up. I thought I was being so smart and had this mix in the can before my Prog mix last week. So I figured I'd hold out for Mariah's TMB (David Morales Mix) which is supposedly very funky. Unfortunately, that mix has yet to see the light of day, though I'm guessing a CD pressing may be in the works for a Perfect Beat exclusive next week. Initially, I thought I wouldn't have enough songs to create this mix. Because I held out for the DM mix, new stuff continued to arrive. So yesterday, I went back and threw out the entire mix and started from scratch. I have to say, the end result kicks some serious boot-ay! Some of you might be wondering...what happened to that funky new Bimbo Jones song? It turns out that the song is not new. Apparently, it was released two years ago. Consequently, I decided not to use it (though I absolutely love the song). However, there is some good news to this story. Apparently, Bimbo Jones along with Katherine Ellis (who I absolutely adore...watch out Kristine W) has signed a deal with Tommy Boy Records here in the U.S. to release a full album sometime this summer. There is no doubt that BJ has been hot, hot, hot lately. However, "Harlem One Stop" shows an element of their production style that I haven't seen until now. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic about this project and will keep everyone posted. In other news, I've finally got listed on iTunes and will now be providing a download link for those of you that use the service. I also managed to work out a really good deal with Podbean which will significantly lower my overhead costs and provide unlimited bandwidth. That's right, you heard it...unlimited! If you have read my recent posting in the chatterbox, you'd see that my 4shared account was overwhelmed recently. Apparently, my Deep Edition v3 was posted on a Russian music site and generated a lot of traffic and downloads. According to their site, by law, they weren't allowed to provide a direct link to the mix. Instead, they provided a link back to my site. Glad they loved the mix, but it ate up all my bandwidth much sooner than normal. Needless to say, this will no longer be an issue. Finally, you'll notice that I'm slowly implementing changes to this blog. More significantly, I've now added "donation" buttons for the mixes. Even though I've managed to lower my costs in one area, there's not much I can do in another. Better than 2/3 of the music in the mixes has been purchased through one of the legal download services. As you all know, this ain't cheap. You might say, well why don't you hunt it down? For one, I prefer to support the artists whenever possible. Two, there's not enough time in my day to hunt down this that and the other. Three, as a product of the "gimme more now" generation, I want what I want when I want it : ) So, if you like what I'm providing, how 'bout hooking a brother up with a small donation. $5 every other month or so ain't going to break the bank and collectively goes a long way towards my overall costs. At the very least, please leave some comments and let me know what you think. Sometimes I feel like a cheap one night stand where people just come in and bang and leave. Geez, I feel so used ; ) Alright, that's enough whining for now. Just want to remind you all that I will be taking a sabbatical for the next two weeks to work on other projects that I've neglected. I'll be back with the next installment of the "Deep Edition". Until then, shake, shake, shake (your boot-ay) like there's no tomorrow! Have a great weekend and as always...Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Progressive Edition 2008 | Pt. 1, 2 & 312 Apr 2008
Well, I finally got the next installment of the Progressive edition up and ready.  This is the official direction this series will take.  That is to say, deep, dark, and very dirty.  Lots of tribal and electric throughout. This is for the hot sweaty men on the dancefloor.  While this has never been my style, it's not hard to pick the songs I think will move the boys.  Besides, I REALLY like making the cover art for this series...hehehe. I've been backed up all week, so I cut out the information posted with each track.  I don't think anyone is going to mind, because ultimately, it's all about the music.  I'm in the final mixdown for the Funky Edition, which will be out next Frigay.  After that, I expect to take a 2-week hiatus as I work on other projects. I hope everyone has a great weekend and please, if you like what you hear, feel free to express yourself in the chat box to the left. Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the three separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 4 | Pt. 1 & 204 Apr 2008
Well, it's that time again for some Dirty Electro-Funk! As the last time, I had way too many songs and successfully managed to whittle it down to two discs. Not an easy thing to do, but when many of the songs are painfully redundant, it makes my job that much easier. Did you check out the cover art? I was going for one of those cheesy K-tel albums from the seventies and think I achieved that. My mom always bought these compilations when I was growing up, so I thought it would be cool to bring it back. Don't worry, I'll bring back disco Barbie soon enough. Also, just want to remind everyone, I'm currently working on the next installment of the Progressive Edition which will come out next week followed by the next installment of the Funky Edition (which is almost complete). After that, I plan on taking a break and will be back sometime in May. WMC is now over, and all the hot summer tunes start coming out. I'm expecting a sizzling summer for club music, particularly good ole funky house. So all you electro-heads, get after it. I'll catch everyone next week with my Prog edition. Until then...Enjoy! House Edition 2008 Volume 131 Mar 2008
Welcome to the first ever Party Favorz: House Edition. Not quite deep enough for my Deep Editions and not quite Funky Enough for my Funky Editions, but definitely soulful and hip enough for a House Edition. There was just way too much good music to let go to waste. Let's face it, this is the music that got it all started back in the late eighties. Granted, house music is just an extension of disco from the seventies, but it developed into a cultural phenomenon sprouting other offshoots of the style. Electro, Deep, Jack, Trance, Tribal, and Progressive; you can thank the origin from which you sprang. Like no other, house music is and always will be the foundation for all great dance music. You may notice, this is an unusually long mix. Once I got started, I just couldn't stop. The whole thing flowed so well, I decided not to cut it in half. I'm guessing that most of you will just pop it into your iPod and won't care. Those that burn these mixes to CD, need not worry. Since most players these days support MP3 playback, just burn a "jukebox" disc (as Nero calls it) or MP3 disc as most others call it and you're in business. I would have had this mix-up on Friday, but my bandwidth was shot as I knew it would be once I uploaded the Spring Edition. So, I decided to wait until today (April Fools) to share it. My bandwidth has reset and you shouldn't have any problems downloading. I've checked into Go Daddy for my future hosting and podcasting, and it's looking like I'll be using them. Since I'm currently using two different sources for storage and streaming, it not only makes practical sense to consolidate but economic sense as well. Just to let everyone know, when I do that, the mixes might end up being encoded at 192kbps instead of the VBR Extreme I've been using. This is not for certain, it just depends on how much storage I purchase for the year. I already got my next Electro-Funk Edition ready to go, and you can expect that on Friday. I also started working on the next installment of the Progressive Edition for all our shirtless boys in the clubs and will then begin working on the long overdue Funky Edition. After that, I plan on taking a break until May. In the meantime, for all of you who enjoy my Deep and/or Funky editions, this one's for you! Enjoy! Update: Oh joy...my bandwidth came back a day early! Besides, posting on April Fools Day has its risks. Even Mariah bumped her album release (originally scheduled for the 1st) to the 15th. Can you blame her? Spring Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 220 Mar 2008
It's the first day of spring, and it's time to celebrate! Last weekend, Atlanta got hit by a couple of tornados in the downtown area. This is a first, for the city. Saturday morning, the sirens went off and my partner and I turned on the television to see a massive tornado about a mile away from where we live. Thankfully, we scraped that one. The only thing I truly dislike about this time of the year is the glowing yellow-green powder that covers your car once everything starts pollinating. That and my allergies tend to flare up, so I have to stay on top of my nasal spray or risk looking like the one-eyed beast after the other one swells closed. It's painful, to say the least and the headaches are incredibly powerful. However, today we've got clear blue skies and temps should reach up into the lower sixties. Hopefully, it will stay that way through the weekend. I know it's been about two months since my Winter Edition, so I thought it was fitting to share my latest mix to kick off the first day of the season. How do you like the cover art? I thought a little "spring training" might be in order...hehehe. I have to say, I am very pleased with this mix. I've managed to pull together a ton of new tunes + a few favorites from earlier this year. I also re-added "Breakaway" by Bill Bennett and Inaya Day, yet again. Why? Because it was never officially released last year and never got the push it so deserved. I added it to my 2007 Year-End Edition and predicted it would finally get a push this year. Well, guess what...I was right. It showed up on the April Mainstream Club Promo. This remake of the eighties dance classic by Big Pig is amazing and deserves the attention that I hope I can bring to it. If you go on over to Bill Bennett's website, you'll find that he's about to release an album in April and begin a nationwide tour to support it. Wait until you find out what the next single is. Ah hell, I'll just tell you. It's "Fame" by Suzanne Palmer. Yes indeed, this is a remake of the Irene Cara classic from 1980. Should be out just in time for Pride. Additionally, he's loaded up the album with some other HOT tunes, including an original with Pepper MaShay. I fully expect this to be one of the best dance albums of the year! One last thing of note: With the exception of my little plug for my candidate on the right-hand side, I've removed all references to politics from this blog and will no longer be pontificating about the candidates nor the primaries. I considered starting a separate political blog, but I figured I'd just keep harassing my good buddy ModFab instead. Frankly, I'm starting to get an ulcer from the entire mess and no longer have the stomach for the bitter divisiveness within the Democratic party. Whether it be Obama's judgement or lack there of, the inexcusable race baiting by the Clinton camp, the DNC chairman (Howard Dean) and the fiasco he created in Florida and Michigan or the vitriolic language being spewed between the supporters from both camps. Last time I checked, we were all on the same side with one clear objective: to rid the Whitehouse of conservatives and take back our country. Instead, we've resorted to name calling and hurling insults to anyone that does not agree with our position. I too have found myself guilty of these charges, and don't really believe it's becoming of me, much less anyone else. When I read various news articles about the primaries and then browse the comments section, I find it disheartening to see all the venom directed at each other; often times from individuals who appear to be not much smarter than a 5th grader. Frankly, I only march to my own drum and not some smarmy prick who's sole source of information is derived from MSNBC (gag reflex) or the Bible. Therefore, going forward I am finished trying to support my position. I'll just wait until the convention in August and pray that the party doesn't implode on itself. Frankly,
Deep Edition 2008 Volume 3 [Pt. 1 & 2]09 Mar 2008
Atmospheric, deep, dark, and moody would be the best way to describe this mix.  Granted, the title alone suggests that.  However, this time around I dug a little deeper and have made a firm transition into how the Deep Edition should sound. After having just finished up last week's Progressive Edition, I made the decision that much of the slower-tempo progressive music overlaps with a lot of the deep house tunes.  To me, progressive should be more about the uptempo harder sounds of electronica, which could include tribal or even hard dance.  It's the slower songs that easily fit in with the deep tunes and add an overall different perspective. For instance, while this mix is predominantly deep house, I managed to work in some progressive, tech-house, and minimal tunes.  Other times, I find myself mixing in some Acid-House and low-key funk or just straight-up soulful.  Going forward, I think all those elements will constitute my deep mixes in the future.  I'll leave the heavier stuff for the prog mixes. I also want to let everyone know that I'll be adding another category in the near future.  I think a "House Edition" would be in order.  You know, all the stuff that doesn't make the deep, electro, funky, or prog mixes, will now have its own classification.  By doing that, I'll be better able to swap mixes out each month so as not to become stagnant and much less boring.  I'll try it out and see how it works.  Remember, I just started this site in November of last year, and it's still a work in progress. As you can see, I've given the blog a whole new look and feel.  I got to thinking about when I was a kid and my mom worked at the Port of Brownsville.  She used to take me with her and I'd explore and play in the shipyards; that is until I broke my arm (what would be the first of many bodily accidents throughout my youth).  I remembered all the rusted anchors and steel beams laying around. So I decided to go for something industrial and think I've achieved that.  It took several layers of pics to put this together in Photoshop.  The preliminary feedback I've received has been positive.  I was trying to make everything easier to read and navigate. Also, please note that both download links will now be included at the top of the track listing.  I think there are still many people not realizing that most of the mixes include two volumes and are not scrolling down to get the second.  I also finally managed to fix the feed in my "Party Favorz" widget.  Now, each post will display the cover art in the widget.  So feel free to grab it and stick it on your blog, Facebook, MySpace, WordPress, or where ever you feel you need a party favor.  Just click on the bottom tab "get widget" and it will pretty much do it for you. Looking at my numbers in the traffic/downloads and seeing how they are progressively increasing on this site, I have a pretty good idea as to what people are digging.  Clearly, the winners are the circuit and funky editions. So just to let everyone know, my Spring Edition will be out in a couple of weeks, just in time for uh...well, spring.  I've already started work on the next installment of the Classix Edition, which I'm totally stoked about.  For now, just sit back and enjoy the sounds of the underground. Have a great weekend! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Progressive Edition 2008 Volume 1 | Pt. 1 & 201 Mar 2008
Well, it was bound to happen. After mixing up the free tracks from Beatport's 4 year anniversary, and receiving a tremendous response, I decided to add the Progressive Edition to my arsenal. For whatever reason, Beatport took down those free tracks shortly after I put up my mix, and haven't posted anything since. I'm not sure what's really going on with them. They might be getting a little too big for their britches. I recently submitted a request to have access to their download links, so I could link each individual song directly back to its landing page. They want me to pay $250 for the software to do that. Huh? Seems to me they are the ones that benefit from the exposure I'm providing them. In fact, I have yet to make a cent by promoting them on this blog. Well, you can rest assured, I'm not about to pay them for the linkage. I've checked into the Gay Blogads, and will most likely be using them in the very near future and remove all references to Beatport. For now, I'll continue providing links back to them, but I will also be providing links to other sources when the individual song is not available on their site. I know, this goes against the terms of my agreement with them, but at this point, I don't give a sh!t. NOTE TO BEATPORT: You're suffering from a case of ABS (Arrogance Breeds Stupidity). Enough said. After last week's mega-update, I decided it was time to get myself better organized. Once I receive and/or purchase the music, everything is processed immediately and is now filed in a folder for its specific genre. This allows me to better track the songs and spend less time in pre-production. I also got some feedback from my partner, who really "dislikes" electro. He wants his funk completely separated. Which, is probably for the best. Let's face it, three discs for one mix was excessive. So here is the breakdown for the categories of mixes I'll be putting out: Deep House, Electro-Tech House, Funky House, Progressive House, Classic House, and Circuit (which are the holiday and seasonal editions). Ultimately, I think this makes more sense. I also want to make sure our folks like "Disco-Ball" get their fill of what grooves them the most. With that being said, welcome to the first official Progressive Edition. I originally sat down to do this mix last Sunday but wasn't feeling it. I went back on Tuesday and knocked it out in a couple of hours. I've only skimmed the mix to check for errors. Ultimately, I think this mix kicks some serious ass! But then again, that's just my humble opinion. Admittedly, I haven't had the time to fully preview the entire mix. So, I'm hoping for the best. The first mix lends more to Deep House than anything. It's slower from start to finish with a little "pick me up" ¾ of the way in; then drops back down again. However, side two is much harder with some serious fragging beats going on. About ¾ of the way in, it drops down for a brief reprieve before closing out with a bang. I frankly like the way this was structured, since keeping the energy high for so long, can get monotonous. But, I realize folks would prefer to separate out the moods and I'll probably divvy it up over the two discs (slower/harder) next time around. For now, all you prog heads out there, this one's for you! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and as always...Enjoy! Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 3 | Pt. 1, 2 & 322 Feb 2008
First off, everyone that receives updates through an RSS feed (Google, Yahoo, etc.) or email, please go back and re-subscribe again. I know...I know, I just asked you to do that, but there was a problem with the new feed that I couldn't correct, and support from Feedburner is kinda lacking. Consequently, I had to scrap it and start all over again. I can assure you, everything is now working correctly and there will be no further need to do this again. Your patience is much appreciated. For those of you who have not signed up for updates; whatcha waitin' for? Everyone that has signed up for the alerts, understands I update this blog frequently with brand-spanking new mixes. Even if you're only into one specific genre, it's worth it to not miss out whenever I post something new. Now, onto the music. All I can say is WOW! 275 songs cut down to 76; 5 mixes and 400 minutes of the finest non-stop electro-funk, I think I've outdone my own personal best. Granted, knocking out 5 mixes in less than two weeks is time-consuming. I definitely won't do this again. Regardless, it's been fun. At this point, I wouldn't expect volume 4 until April (well maybe sooner, you know how I am). This will give me time to work on other styles. I'm not gonna say what's up next, let's just keep it a surprise for now. With this mix, I've made a few changes to how I list and review everything. First, I'm not going forward with the YouTube videos anymore. I feel it drags the whole site down and causes poor loading. Those of you who are on slower connections may have experienced some issues since the last update. The other thing is that I won't be reviewing each song as much. I may note a few things here and there when I feel it's necessary or just wants to add a humorous anecdote. So I'm replacing it with a "star" rating for each song instead. This will give everyone an indication of my own personal preference for each song. It doesn't necessarily mean the song is bad or good, it's just my own perspective. Anything lower than a 3-star, pretty much means I think it sucks. I guess you already know how that works. I want to thank a few of you who answered my call for assistance. 4shared has a 2-4-1 deal going on with the bandwidth, so I bought another 20 gigs of bandwidth. Just a reminder, if you like what I'm doing please feel free to support my work and donate. If there's any question, I'm not getting rich off this blog. In fact, I have yet to make a cent off of the advertisements. Everything that is donated goes towards my cost for storage, bandwidth, and music. I've had several people ask me why I pour so much of myself into this blog. Aside from the obvious, my love for house music, and it also keeps me out of trouble. [Big Grin] I also want everyone to bear in mind, I'd like this blog to be interactive. So I highly encourage everyone to provide some feedback. Tell me what you like; tell me what you don't. I'm still kinda feeling my way around with regards to the site and the mixes. Obviously, one of the biggest changes was to combine the electro with the funkier music. Frankly, I think that worked out really well. Instead of the mixes getting bogged down in one style, it puts you on a rollercoaster ride; so you don't know what to expect next. Any thoughts and/or suggestions on how to improve the site, the mixes etc. is ALWAYS welcome! One last thing of note, there is a total of "3" mixes this time around. So please keep that in mind. You'll need to scroll down until you get to the next Podbean player for each additional mix. I guess that just about wraps it up for now. The cold and rain should be clearing out later today, here in the ATL. I'm definitely looking forward to some sun and spring-like weather. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy! Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 2 | Pt. 1 & 219 Feb 2008
Well, I've managed to finalize the first two mixes of the Electro-Funk Edition and they are FIERCE! The first mix is closer to what I consider electro-lite with some funky tunes rounding it out. The second mix is predominantly harder, and not something you should be listening to while working out, or you might hurt yourself [grin]. Seriously, going through 275 new songs and cutting it down to 30 for this mix, was no easy feat. Keep in mind, I've got Edition v3 I'll be working on shortly, which will contain another 30 songs. I should have it up sometime this weekend. In the meantime, you can check out the mix before downloading with the Podbean player and hey, if you like what you hear, or totally think it sucks, pull a Janet out of your ass and leave some feedback...CRANK IT UP, GIVE IT TO ME COME ON! Until this weekend...Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 1 | Pt. 1 & 208 Feb 2008
First and foremost, I want to apologize for my previous statement indicating that anyone voting for a candidate (in this case Obama) without fully understanding what they stand for, is stupid. I don't really believe that. Those that know me, understand I am passionate about my politics and can get carried away sometimes. There is no mistake about Barak's passion and ability to motivate and instill hope in people. Without a doubt, I believe you can attribute the overwhelming turnout among voters to his presence in the race. As I mentioned before, the first time I saw him was on C-SPAN shortly after he became the junior Senator from Illinois. I was immediately drawn to him and was very impressed by his thoughtfulness. What I have been attempting to do is draw a distinction between his candidacy and Clinton's. Frankly, there are only minor differences between the two's positions. Then I try to look at the challenges that the next administration will face and truly believe that Hillary has the most experience and a better understanding as to what that entails. Ultimately, if Obama wins the Democratic nomination, I will throw my entire support behind him. I am sick and tired of the greed and corruption of the current administration. One can only hope that the next President will maintain a transparent government as promised, and do more for the people, the economy, health care, the environment, and of course national security, rather than their friends in high places. As someone whose work brought them close to the victims of Katrina, it's appalling that many still live in FEMA trailers on the lot where their house used to be; all the while federal spending (particularly on useless "earmarks" that never receive an up or down vote) spirals out of control. This is not the "compassionate" government that was promised back in 2000. For now, I'll just let the primaries play out and hold off on any more political comments (as best I can) until the convention in August. That being said, welcome to the first edition of Party Favorz 2008: Electro-Funk Edition. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive my funk promo for February but have a slew of hot new electro tunes. So, I decided to go back and put together a double mix of the hottest tunes on BPM satellite based on their most recent chart. While the majority of these songs have appeared on compilations as far back as September, they are only now receiving the attention they deserve on radio. The songs you'll find on here that I never used, are trance. While I don't necessarily dislike trance, it's not my favorite genre. The handful of trance songs that appear on this mix are hot at the moment. The problem I have with them is that they don't really do the original song any justice. Most notably Tiesto's work has been seriously lacking as of late. His mixes tend to drag along and lack the inspiration he's been known for in the past. In fact, I haven't heard anything as glorious as the work he did on Delirium's "Silence" with Sara McLachlan or even The Roc Project's "Never (Past Tense)". Granted, he's obviously trying to modernize his sound to fit in with the whole electro scene but has yet to hit his stride. His mixes of Justin Timberlake and Britney were just so-so. Let's hope Seal's latest "The Right Life" receives more justice. So as to not let everyone down, I'll be backing this mix up with another offering within a couple of hours. Yeah, It's been a busy week, but I didn't rest on my laurels. One other thing, if you've had difficulty accessing this site, blame it on Flickr. They've been doing some serious upgrades to their site which not only has taken longer than they expected but has caused serious headaches for anyone with the slideshow on their blog. Patience is a virtue, just not one of mine. For now...Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used i...

Personally, I would have gone with kelly green to offset the brown, however, turquoise is very in right now.  All is right in the world when we know how to successfully combine our colors for a statement.  In all seriousness, it was nice to see them finally focus on winning the White House back from Republican control, instead of the usual bickering that was dividing the party. Ultimately, they need to come together and unify the Democrats for what will certainly be a viral campaign against the Repubs.  For now, may the best woman or man win.  In the end, I'm still predicting a Clinton/Obama ticket.  Frankly, I don't care if it's the other way around.  Truth be told, they both appeal to various factions of the Democratic Party and a double bill with both of them would create an unstoppable powerhouse come November. Now, on to the issue at hand.  Just in time for the weekend, I'm serving up some seriously deep house.  Granted, this is not exactly a "party" album per se but provides excellent ambiance for your get-togethers or when you're just sitting around and relaxing. Those of you following my release trend, know that electro-funk will be up next.  Granted, there's still the Classic Edition I've been promising.  Since I'm behind there, I'll probably up my Party Favorz 2005: Year-End Edition, which is bound to, please.  This will give me more time to work on something even older.  I'm leaning towards 1999 - 2000.  I'll keep everyone posted. I hope you enjoy this mix, cause it was a bitch to put together!  When I thought it was finished, I previewed it while driving all over town trying to get some grown-up stuff done.  That's when I discovered I completely forgot a very important song. When I finally sat down to look at it, I had already been over to Beatport buying some new stuff.  At that point, I decided to scrap the whole mix and start from the beginning.  The initial mix was divided into two sections; soulful for disc one and underground for disc two.  On the second go around, I decided to combine everything, giving the overall mix diversity with added surprises; something the initial mix lacked. Lots of layering on this one, which is fine when I have the time to preview for mistakes.  With time constraints, I haven't been so fortunate to check it out without delaying the release and subsequently falling behind.  Fingers crossed that everything falls into place. For now, just sit back and enjoy the sounds of the underground...
Winter Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 218 Jan 2008
T.G.I.F. Ah yes...made it just in time for the weekend! This was no easy feat. Before I get on with the usual discussion about the songs on this mix, I want to bring up a few things. First, there are only a few days remaining to get your vote in for the way you prefer the mixes to be delivered. You can cast your vote just to the right of this post. 2nd, for those of you who apparently haven't figured it out yet, when it says Disc 1/2, that means there are two discs in this collection. Disc 1/2 is the first download and when you scroll down somewhere in the middle, you will find Disc 2/2, or the second download for that mix. I only brought this up because a whopping number of you jumped all over my Electro-Tech Edition, but only half downloaded the second one. Therefore, I'm guessing many of you aren't aware of the second mix. Now, if it says Disc 1/1, well that means there is only one download for that mix. It can happen, so just be mindful of that fact. 3rd, I made this blog at the urging of friends. Often I found I was just giving the mixes away. So, I thought this would be cheaper and less time-consuming. On the contrary, not only does it take up more time, but costs more money as well. When you figure in the costs for music, bandwidth, storage etc. this ain' t cheap. Especially for someone who's been without a job since May. I guess no one wants to higher a cripple. So be it. I'll figure something out. So, if you think you could start showing a little more love I'd certainly appreciate it. After just being turned down for another high paying job, right now, I need all the love I can get. I'll tell you what...anyone that leave's a constructive comment, whether about the music or anyway that I could improve this site (positive or negative...just keep it within reason and no blah, blah, blah) at the end of this post, let's say by January 20th, will be entered into a drawing for a genuine copy of any mix of your choosing I've made this year; shipped anywhere in the world for free! That's right, the full double CD with artwork and all. My discs aren't cheap; they look better than that crap you spend $20 on in the stores and sound better to boot! There will be 3 winners which will be announced on Monday and I'll email you for shipping instructions. (Sorry, personal friends are not eligible for the drawing). Now, on with the music! Welcome to the first Winter Edition of the Party Favorz series. Usually, I wait until spring for the next circuit mix, but as mentioned in earlier posts, there's way too much great music out to just sit on until then. I fully expect February to be kinda quiet, so I'm thinking about cooking up some classic mixes from the late nineties and early millennium. I'll provide more details on that a little later. For now...Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Electro-Tech Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 216 Jan 2008
What? Another update so soon? You bet! I told you at the beginning of the year I had a sh!t load of music to go through. Instead of combining many of the songs from the Funky Edition with the Tech House songs (much like in Party Favorz 2007: Funky Edition v6), I made the decision to separate them out. There was just way too much good music pouring out to leave them off the mixes. So, no posturing or political updates to discuss today...it's all about the music. Once you get into to this mix, you'll see that it's one great song after another. I really hope everyone enjoys this mix as much as I did making it. For those that may have noticed the HOT guy (courtesy of Modern Fabulosity), in my Flickr slideshow for the newly created "Winter Edition", it's because that mix is on its way next! I don't want all you circuit boys to think I've forgotten about you. I'll try to have it out for the weekend, but no promises. I can assure you, it'll be worth the wait. A few things of note: Please vote on the right for your preference for downloading the mixes. In other words, do you prefer a single high quality mp3 file to ensure continuous flow; or do you prefer the mix be split into individual songs (this requires a CD burner and player that has "gapless playback for MP3); or do you prefer the files be split into individual songs but encoded at a lossless bitrate (this will make the file much larger with slightly longer download speeds, but offers the best quality). Make your vote count. If you want lossless compression, then let me know in my "comment box" what type of compression you prefer (i.e. flac, wma, mp4, monkey's audio, etc.) I'll be updating the "iPod Worthy List" later tomorrow; sorry it's been a little hectic, but I think it's time for all this wonderful new music coming out. I may run some voting, later on, to let you pick your favs, so we can let the world know what we're digging at the moment. One other thing, Modern Fabulosity has 5 copies of the new Idina Menzel CD "I Stand" to give away. So go over there by January 20th and answer a simple question so you can get into the drawing for the new disc. Here we go! Funky House Edition 2008 Volume 1 | Pt. 1 & 214 Jan 2008
First and foremost, I am ecstatic about the elections on Tuesday. Looks like we got ourselves a two-way horse race between Clinton and Obama. Anyone that has been following the political blogs realizes just how passionate both camps are about their prospective candidates. What has concerned me is the vitriol and hatred geared toward Hillary. Based on the supposed polling data which gives her an unfavorable "likability" rating; I suspect most of this is driven by the media. So who exactly did they poll? Frankly, after New Hampshire, we saw just how reliable those polls are. The unjustified criticism Hillary has received is unprecedented. When you hear someone like the ass-wipe Chris Matthews from MSNBC, publicly state "The only reason Hillary became a Senator and is now running for President is that her husband messed around". Huh? Well if that's the case, the only reason George Bush became Governor of Texas and subsequently President of the United States is because his last name is "Bush" and his family has a shitload of money. C'mon, where's the logic? After that, every Hillary supporter took up arms against this sexist remark and the subsequent statements that followed, attempting to justify his position. Though not as blatantly asinine, CNN hasn't faired any better in their own commentary. That's all well and good because the voters are the only people that count and I believe are smart enough to cut through all the bullshit being shown on the idiot box. Thank God for blogs where we can better serve up opinion and commentary to respond to things we either agree or disagree with; albeit in a more civilized manner. The closest we have right now on TV is C-Span, but that forum does not lend itself to a healthy debate. After Super Tuesday, we'll have a clearer picture of who will be the Democratic nominee. I've made no bones about the fact that I am a Hillary supporter. Regardless, if it does turn out that Barak succeeds in his bid for the nomination, then I'll be right there lending my full support. Ultimately, I would like to see a Clinton/Obama ticket run for President; if not, an Obama/Clinton ticket works just fine for me. Now, after John Edwards gets his ass whipped in his own home state of South Carolina, will you please get the hell out of the race! Governor Richardson, thank you for having the good sense to drop out after New Hampshire. As Democrats and Independents, let's come together and go into the National Convention united with one common goal; to rid the true axis of evil from Washington. Speaking of evil (you know I had to lead into it somehow), Funky House Edition 2008 v1 is a really wicked mix cooked up for all you funk heads! Side one is pure disco heaven that truly satisfies. Side two, well let's just say that's for the die-hard disco fan. Some of the stuff harkens back to the underground disco of yonder, whiles others are just simple mainstream fare that I couldn't work into side one. It was either make this a single disc, or go ahead and serve up volume two for the loyalist. Either way, it won't disappoint. Enjoy! Deep Edition 2008 Volume 1 [Pt. 1 & 2]07 Jan 2008
First, I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year and thank you all for the kind words that have been left in my Cbox. There's more work that goes into this blog than I would have ever imagined. Not that I'm complaining; on the contrary, I really enjoy doing this. So please keep the comments, suggestions, or requests coming. I'll do my best to respond. Right now, I'm thinking about changing the name of the site to Party Favorz instead of K j A M Productions. Let me know what you think. Before I get into the latest Deep Edition, I just want to touch on another very important issue. This will mainly apply to the U.S. folks. From the onset of the presidential contenders throwing their hats into the ring, I've been a big fan of Hillary Clinton. Without a doubt, she is a smart and savvy player who would be formidable against any Republican nominee. I like her message and the way in which she carries herself. Anyone that's read anything about her during the time she was First Lady, knows full well that she's got the balls to stand up to the Republicans. The only thing that concerns me is her unwillingness to denounce all the pork spending from Washington; something that John Edwards is a big proponent of ridding from each and every bill passed. In fact, his campaign thus far has not accepted any Pac money. That's amazing considering his 2nd place finish in Iowa. Then you've got Barak Obama. Several years ago, I saw him for the first time after he was elected Senator of Illinois, on C-Span. He was a very charismatic and eloquent speaker. Needless to say, I was impressed. The only problem I have with him is that I don't think he's ready for prime time just yet. He will make an excellent VP for either candidate and can assume the mantle 4 to 8 years after this election. This is just my own personal assessment of the candidates. More than anything, this is a very important election and I urge everyone eligible to go out and caucus for your candidate of choice. The fact that Hilary and Barak are the front-runners, in and of itself is historic! Whatever the outcome of the primaries, I will throw my full support behind whoever wins as they are all excellent candidates. Speaking of winners...I've got the first Deep Edition mix-up and ready to go! I am so pleased with the overall mix. I should probably call this the Chill Edition, cause that's exactly what it is. Let's go down the checklist: Acid Jazz √ Tickling the ivory √ Big ole Brass √ Groovy Organs √ Trip Hop √ Deep Funk √ Wailing Divas √ Soulful √ Male Singers √ Alternative Beats √ Underground Beats √ Angry Black Women √ Looks like all the ingredients are here. Unlike previous efforts which tend to be more experimental, the complete feel of this mix is laid back and comfy with an overall sense of relaxation and fun. Put this on when you have guests over or you just want to lay around and chill. Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. This article will shine a spotlight on the Top Dance Songs of 2007, giving due credit to the standouts that shaped this remarkable period in dance music history. Firstly, "Boogie 2nite" by Booty Luv, one of the Top Dance Songs of 2007, was an infectious beat that captured the essence of an era. The track personified the vibrant spirit of dance music, making it a perennial favorite among both casual listeners and dance enthusiasts. Cahill's "Trippin On You" was another masterstroke from 2007, showcasing an innovative sound that seamlessly blended several music genres. Meanwhile, the updated version of "Do You Want It Right Now" by Degrees of Motion added a contemporary twist to a classic sound, reaffirming the timeless appeal of dance music. Another highlight was the Bassmonkey remix of "Keep Your Body Working" by Tony Moran & Martha Wash, which was emblematic of the upbeat, infectious rhythms that made 2007 a memorable year for dance music. The song "Stand Up" by Nowak drew inspiration from A Taste of Honey's disco classic Boogie Oogie Oogie, paying tribute to the heritage of dance music while also charting new territories. Also, Mika's "Love Today" and Roisin Murphy's "Let Me Know" were notable for their distinctive soundscapes, which contributed to the diversity of the Top Dance Songs of 2007. Finally, the DJ Meme remix of "The Cure and the Cause" by Fish Go Deep provided a deeper, more introspective take on dance music, showcasing the genre's versatility. Looking back on the Top Dance Songs of 2007, it's clear that this was a year of creativity and innovation, laying a solid foundation for the evolution of dance music in the years to follow. This year, dance floors across the world pulsated with tracks from seasoned artists as well as fresh faces, reflecting a myriad of styles and sounds. Among the Top Dance Songs of 2007, the charismatic collaboration of Todd Terry Allstars and Tara McDonald with "Get Down" (Warren Clarke Club Mix) kicked off the year with a stunning union of rhythmic beats and vivacious vocals. It was a dance anthem that set the pace for the tracks to come, marrying rhythm and energy in an electrifying combination. Alexander O'Neal's "Saturday Love" (Soulshaker Club Mix) and Charlean Dance's "Mr. DJ" (Moto Blanco Remix) sustained this tempo with their soulful deliveries, further reinforcing 2007 as a year of rhythmic indulgence. The Soulshaker Club Mix of O'Neal's song was particularly notable for its ingenious remix that refreshed a classic while maintaining its original allure. Roisin Murphy's "Overpowered" (Seamus Haji Remix) made a significant impact on the scene as well, integrating a distinct electronic vibe into the year's top dance tracks. The eclectic blend of soulful lyrics and pulsating beats made it a standout among the Top Dance Songs of 2007. Bliss Inc.'s collaboration with Carlotta Chadwick for "Faith" (7th Heaven Remix) marked a momentous return to uplifting, inspirational dance music. This track, along with Sean Biddle's "Get Up 'n' Dance" (Alex Romano Remix), encouraged listeners to find joy and motivation on the dance floor, reminding us of the transformative power of dance music. Perhaps one of the most unexpected gems among the Top Dance Songs of 2007 was "Sexual Healing" (Freemasons Club Mix) by Alibi vs. Rockefeller. This modern interpretation of a classic song showcased the versatility and adaptability of dance music, skillfully incorporating a beloved melody into a new, dance-friendly context. Overall, the Top Dance Songs of 2007 illustrate a year of evolution and vibrancy within the world of dance music. They encapsulate a time when the genre was expanding, embracing new influences, and reaching out to a broader audience. The year's best tracks demonstrated an extraordinary blend of innovation, respect for the past, and a deep love for the infectious energy of dance music. As we look back on these tunes, we are reminded of the enduring power of rhythm, melody, and the human spirit to inspire and connect us on the dance floor and beyond. This latest set features all the biggest Dance Club hits of the spring — many of which will spill over into Summer. Without of doubt, Joel Corry is on a roll and there's no sign he's stopping anytime soon. He appears to have stepped away from his mainstream sugarcoated dance floor earcandy into a deeper Future House groove that's come off leftfield. With 'Liquor Store'  still running high on every DJ list, he drops the Trance classic remake of Da Hool's 'Meet Her At The Love Parade' with his version simply titled 'Parade.' For those of you who took the time to indulge in the Ultimate Trance Classics series we just dropped — this is one of the earliest Trance hits from the 90s that shook the club scene to its foundation. Speaking of Trance classics, the essential Spring Break set also includes Keanu Silva, Toby Romeo & Sacha's 'Hopeless Heart' which is an ode to the Robert Miles Trance classic 'Children' — a song most generations are intimately familiar with. We also have a 2022 re-work of the massive Trance classic 'Cafe Del Mar' by Paul Reid. I don't know if it was perfect timing or the universe calling back these classics to our collective conscious at the same time we put out the Ultimate Trance Classics Series but it does feel coincidental. One of our favorites from 2021, Kah-Lo is back with 'Drag Me Out' and 'The Sweetest Pie' by Megan Thee Stallion & Dua Lipa is already making a huge impact on radio and in the clubs. Remixes are only now coming out so be sure not to miss the Dirty Disco remix coming up on our next installment of the T-Dance series. Swedish House Mafia who's had a remarkable comeback to the club scene have teamed up with Sting for a total reimagining of the Police classic 'Roxanne' with 'Red Light' a song that's already on every DJ's top 10 list. Other notable new tracks gaining momentum are 'Good Luck' by Mabel, Jax Jones & Galantis, 'What Would You Do' by Joel Corry & David Guetta with Bryson Tiller, 'In Your Arms' by Topic, Robin Schulz, Nico Santos & Paul van Dyk (yes, that PVD another Trance reference), Purple Disco Machine and Sophie & the Giant continue their winning collaboration on 'In the Dark' with Oliver Helden doing the remix honors, Ferry Corsten's (yes that FC another Trance throwback) wonderful 'Wounded,' and the KD5 (Kaskade & Deadmaus5) team up for the Progressive House pleasure 'Escape,' while both R3HAB (with Saucy Santana) and Anna Lunoe take a 'dip' into the Freak Nasty classic with their reworks. Who wins that battle is anyone's guess because they're equally good. Finally, Kungs makes a return with the novelty track 'C...

With the rise of digital music, DJs and producers had a wealth of technology at their fingertips to create infectious rhythms and driving beats that ensured the dance floor remained vibrant. One of the highlights of the Top Dance Songs of 2007 was Beyonce's 'Green Light (Freemason's Remix)'. This high-energy track encapsulated the year's fusion of funky house and R&B rhythms. Beyonce's powerful vocals, mixed with Freemason's upbeat house undertones, created a club anthem that still resonates today. Erika Jayne's 'Roller Coaster (Moto Blanco Club Mix)' was another standout, epitomizing the year's fascination with electro-infused pop. Jayne's sultry vocals paired with Moto Blanco's expert production demonstrated the exciting possibilities of combining pop sensibilities with dance beats. In 2007, dance music was also characterized by a return to classic disco influences, reflected in Barbara Tucker's 'Love Vibrations (Josh Harris Club Mix)'. Tucker's soulful vocals, combined with the uplifting disco house beat, delivered a potent reminder of dance music's enduring roots. Jennifer Lopez showcased her versatility with 'Do It Well (Moto Blanco Remix)' and 'Hold It Don't Drop It (Moto Blanco Club Mix)', both tracks showcasing a winning combination of R&B-infused lyrics and high-energy dance rhythms. Meanwhile, Rihanna emerged as a dominant force in the dance music scene with 'We Ride (Lenny B Club Mix)' and 'Don't Stop The Music (Jody Den Broeder Big Room Vocal Mix)', songs that showcased her distinctive vocals against an energetic, dance-friendly backdrop. The Top Dance Songs of 2007 weren't only about high-energy beats and infectious rhythms. Delerium's 'Angelicus (Morgan Paige Remix)' brought a more contemplative, trance-infused sound to the year's dance floors, demonstrating the diversity and breadth of dance music in 2007. Whether it was Seal's uplifting 'Amazing (Kaskade Remix)' or Pink's defiant 'U + Ur Hand (Bimbo Jones Explicit Mix)', the Top Dance Songs of 2007 embodied a year of experimentation, evolution, and enduring love for the rhythm that keeps us moving. These tracks, among others, serve as a testament to a year when dance music both embraced its roots and reached for new heights. Until the next time...ENJOY! This was the year when the echoes of the past decades significantly impacted the contemporary club music scene, resulting in a noticeable shift in the tastes and styles of the Top Dance Songs of 2007. This shift mirrored significant social issues and trends of that era, displaying the power music holds as a reflection of our society. Alternative music reached back into the charms of the '80s, fostering a resurgence of the "garage band" sound. Concurrently, a wave of low-tech electro-pop music began to regain popularity. Artists such as Erasure, with their unchanged sound, found themselves back in style, contributing to the influential and impressive list of the Top Dance Songs of 2007. Arguably the most notable musical trend of 2007 was the revival of the disco genre, or as it is more popularly referred to today - funk. This rejuvenated love for disco found its way back to the dance floor, with notable contributions from music maestros such as Moto Blanco, Freemasons, Seamus Haji, and the Bassmonkeys. The 'big room' progressive sound, a staple of circuit music, began its descent, making way for heavy electro, with Jody Den Broeder leading the pack who coincidentally happens to be good friends with my doctor. It's important to remember that the fluctuations and trends in music often mirror the mood of the nation. The heavier, darker club music that dominated the early 2000s was a reflection of the challenging times we lived in. As we began to see the rise of more uplifting, lighter themes in the Top Dance Songs of 2007, we could sense a shift in the nation's mood. Club music, with its vibrant variety of genres, provides an escape from everyday life. It is a form of frivolous fun, and an ode to peace, love, and understanding. The transformation of the Top Dance Songs of 2007 was a testament to this spirit. As we reflect on this period of musical evolution, we look forward to the waves that the next decade will bring. Remember, no matter what shifts and changes, the essence of clubbing – fun, escape, and unity – remains eternal. To celebrate this remarkable year in dance music, Party Favorz presents the Top Dance Songs of 2007. Perfect for those dance-till-dawn nights, these tunes deserve a spot in your music collection for posterity's sake. So, go ahead, download, burn, and relive the magic of 2007. Deep Edition 2007 Volume 4 [Remastered]01 Dec 2007
Before I go into the discussion about the Deep Edition 2007 v4, I would like to bring to everyone's attention that today is World AIDS Day. A disease that has devastated not only lives but families as well, all over the world. I have lost several friends to this disease, including my brother in 1986. If you look to the right, just below the pod player, you will see an ad with the ultimate Diva, Annie Lennox. If you click on the link, you will be able to support her and the Treatment Action Organization in South Africa. You can buy a T-Shirt or purchase the download of her latest song "Sing" featuring a slew of artists including Madonna. If anything, purchase the kick-ass Moto/Blanco mix of the song, which you've no doubt heard if you've been anywhere near a club lately. Stay involved. Stay focused. Better yet, stay safe. Enough preaching. Here's is the latest Deep Edition...and it rocks if I do say so myself. This will be perfect after those long cold days at work or after spending an entire day Christmas shopping at the mall. Grab yourself a glass of wine, smoke a joint and just chill-out and relax...that's the power of music. Oh yeah, don't be shocked by the inclusion of Dave Gahan on this mix...you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, I just finished up a MySpace page. You can check it out here. If anyone can explain how to rearrange the modules on my profile page, I'd be forever indebted : ) One last thing, Funky Edition 2007 v6 will be up tomorrow and the Holiday Edition 2007 will be up no later than Saturday, next week. Just finished Deep Edition 2007 v3 a few days ago. Starts off with some nice low-key house, which builds on top of each other. By the fourth song, you'll notice a different direction as it transitions into some techno house and then into more progressive deep sounds before dropping down again. Take notice of the smoking gospel mashup between Antoine Clamaran and Alison Limerick! Though my other half can't stand these mixes, I find them soothing. Enjoy! Deep Edition 2007 Volume 1 [Remastered]07 Oct 2007
The Deep Edition 2007 v1 is the first in a series of house mixes that I will update frequently. The original series was called "Leftovers" but I decided to stay with the Party Favorz theme. You'll know the style based on the title. For instance, "Deep" is laid back smooth house with a little alternative thrown in for good measure...nothing ever gets too loud though. "Funky" will be an upbeat shake-your-ass type of music that can include some Deep House. That being said, here is the first of several from this new group. Enjoy! But not Everything But The Girl. Founded in 1982 by Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, the British duo has always been emblematic of a refined genre that fuses jazz, pop, and electronic music. For many years, they carved out their own niche, their music celebrated by a dedicated, though relatively small, fanbase. Then came Todd Terry and his remix of  "Missing," from their "Amplified Heart" album and suddenly Everything But The Girl was an overnight success 12 years in the making. The Todd Terry remix of "Missing" was transformative, not just for the band but for the trajectory of dance music in general. There are songs that have the power to define an era, and "Missing" certainly belongs to this select group. This single track transformed EBTG from being a band that appealed to a niche audience to a staple in dance clubs and on the radio worldwide. It showcased the remarkable adaptability of Thorn and Watt's music for a whole new audience, repackaging their artistry in a way that resonated with fans of club music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuiYATFbUwQ Diving into their foray into the dance realm, it's hard to overlook tracks like "Lullaby Of Clubland," reimagined by Ben Watt himself into a 'Summer Storm Remix.' It captures the essence of a languid, steamy summer night, eliciting that same kind of emotive response that EBTG has been known for. Similarly, "Five Fathoms," refashioned by Kevin Yost into the "Everything & A Groove" Mix, and "The Future Of The Future (Stay Gold)" with a Deep Dish Extended Mix, exemplify the band's seamless transition into the world of dance music. Both songs have a narrative depth, reimagined through transformative remixes that highlight the band's knack for storytelling through melody. And then, of course, there's the song with two identities: "Tracey In My Room" and "Wrong." Both titles refer to the same musical base but were released as different remixes at different times. The Lazy Dog Bootleg Vocal Mix and Deep Dish 12" Remix highlight the duo's fluidity in adapting to different musical contexts without losing the essence of their artistic identity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omJQVvKVQCk And what about Driving with a Todd Terry Remix? It has the same transformative energy as "Missing," serving as another testament to the groundbreaking remix capabilities of DJs like Terry in taking a song from one genre and successfully crossing it into another. I have to share an anecdote here that puts everything into perspective. Earlier this summer, a close friend who was relocating to New York asked for a new copy o...
