Last week the Nerd Caster Crew gave you a preview of their initial thoughts of the Nintendo Switch and the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild before getting their hands on the console and game. Now that they have acquired the coveted system and game they give their reviews and first impressions on how they like or dislike what Nintendo has done. | Where’s Kingdom Hearts 3 | 23 Jan 2017 | 01:00:27
The Team talks about the Square Enix Series Kingdom hearts and wonders Where’s Kingdom Hearts 3? They discuss how much love or hate the series and what their favorite and worst parts are. If you have not played the series, then be warned **SPOILERS** ahead. Seriously though, these games have been out for over 10 years. Joe and Lori are joined on Skype by their good friend Jon, and in the studio, with Kieffer (Aww8badges) to discuss the beloved video game series Kingdom Hearts. The team starts at the beginning talking about Kingdom Hearts and their love/hate of the game. Following the Kingdom Hearts 1 talk, they discuss Kingdom Hearts 2 and what they thought of the second mainstay of the series. The group stays away from the spin-off games and discusses 1 or 2 briefly to give the audience some background to help with the confusing storyline of Kingdom Hearts and it’s many characters. After they round up their favorite parts and least favorite parts of the games, they round in on the long awaited (Painfully awaiting) the new Kingdom Hearts 3 game that may never come out. The highly anticipated game has been in development for over 12 years and has no release date in sight. A recent article stated next year, but is that 2018? or was that released to close to the turn of 2017 and they mean later this year? Who knows. With this being the 20th anniversary of the original Kingdom Hearts, there should be some news on the horizon (hopefully). Find out what the team thinks of this long awaited game. If you haven’t seen the Assassins Creed Movie then **SPOILERS** ahead. This week the team discusses what they thought of the Assassins Creed movie and compare it to other Video game movies that they have seen. Does this movie hold up against other movies in the genre? Listen in as they tell you about the plot, and maybe some plot holes as well. What is the Apple of Eden? How does it get rid of freewill or the Brotherhood? Who know! Does the team have the answers? Probably not. The team breaks down how Animus and Abstergo, who are funded by the Templars, use the Brotherhood to help in retrieving the mythical (biblical?) Apple of Eden to bring an end to the Brotherhood and free will itself. This may sound like a deep story line, but does the team believe it lives up to its hype? The team also talks about other movies in the genre as well. They compare the movie to Star Wars Rogue One, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy Spirts Within, Mario Brothers Movie, Double Dragon, Wreck it Ralph, and some others. | Holiday Gift Ideas | 12 Dec 2016 | 00:23:18
Nerdcaster talks about some holiday gift ideas for your nerdy family members or friends. Below is a list of everything they talked about. Listen in to what their thoughts are on each, and whether Joe and Lori agree that they are gifts worth giving. NES Classic. If you can get your hands on this device, it makes a perfect gift for the retro gamer. It has 30 built in games from the days of the NES allowing the retro gamer to spend hours reliving his glory days of gaming. While the unit does not have network capability or expandability, for $60 dollars, the system comes with 30 games, and a controller (an extra controller costs an additional 10 bucks), it’s really not that bad of a deal when you realize how hard the old NES games are. This even makes a perfect gift for kids who may not have been able to play the old school Nintendo Entertainment System or parents who want to show their kids what gaming really is. Raspberry Pi 3 Kit– For the nerdiest of all nerds. The Raspberry Pi is a micro-computer that is put together using an SD card, HDMI Cable, and a USB cable for power (any old school Samsung charger will suffice). Once assembled the Raspberry Pi can be loaded with Linux and be used to create programs in various languages or be used for a multitude of difference projects. Some fun ones are, Creating a motion detection system, a wireless print server, or even create an NES Classic or Sega genesis system that will hook up to any HDMI TV. This item though does require some computer smarticles to get this going, but there are tons of tutorials all over the internet. Check our show notes for some links. Custom Made Lightsabers. With Rogue one coming out soon the light saber craze will no doubt be in full force (no pun intended). The custom made lightsabers that can be ordered off of Etsy or from Ultrasabers are definitely high on my list this year as Rogue One is due to be released. I have been wanting one for a few years now, but have been waiting for them to get better. This year, I feel that they are ready and worth the $130 to $500 price tag listed on them. The sabers are made from quality materials and have real sound effects when swinging or crashing against objects. While not made for actual Light Saber battles, people on youtube.com may disagree. Honorable mentions: Any VR Harry Potter and the cursed Child. This book has been out for a while, but if you are buying for the Harry Potter fan that has not yet read this book. This is definitely a great purchase as it will complete the Harry Potter book collection. Subscription to Crunchyroll This is the perfect gift for your anime nerds. It’s like Netflix for Anime shows (and movies?) and can be used from any device that has access to the Crunchyroll app. If you don’t have an apple TV or an iTunes account on an iPhone, then you can always watch via a web browser. Movie Gift certificates/Gift Cards. This one needs no explanation. With Rogue One coming out, Assassin’s Creed, the Power Ranger movie, The Marvel movies next year. This is a great gift for the all around nerd if you have no idea what to buy at all. Since they don’t expire and can be used at any time for any movie, just make sure the certificate is good for a theater local to the nerd you are buying it for. | The Rise of Skywalker | 09 Jan 2020 | 00:56:29
Nerd Caster finally reviews the newest Star Wars movie The Rise of Skywalker. Joe, Justin, and Mike meet up on Skype to bring their thoughts on the newest and final movie revolving around the Skywalker lineage. The team takes a deep dive into a breakdown of the many characters and how they helped move (or didn’t) the story along. Does this newest title live up to the hype or does it fall flat? Is it better than The Last Jedi or The Force Awakens? Dare I say, could it even be better than some of the Original Trilogy (OT) movies? To find out, take a listen to see what we thought. The biggest thing we talk about though is the many unanswered questions that The Rise of Skywalker leaves behind and our thoughts on the most likely answers. After we dive into all things The Rise of Skywalker we also talk about some Mandalorian stuff briefly. Then Justin gives us the breakdown on his broken foot and exactly how it happened. Let us know your thoughts on The Skywalker saga or any of the Star Wars movies over on Facebook or Twitter. The team discusses what they thought about the show as a whole and break down certain episodes and characters. With the show only having one season, there is a lot of theories on what Season 2 will bring. The team discusses the following points:

| Joker Movie Review | 18 Oct 2019 | 00:53:11 | |
This weeks episode we do a Joker Movie Review, but before we get into that we have a bunch of other stuff to talk about. This week Overwatch released its highly anticipated Halloween Terror Event and we talk about what, if anything, new was added to this year’s event. We also talk about how it dropped the event the same day it was released for the Nintendo Switch. Coincidence? Probably not, but why didn’t Blizzard make that announcement? Maybe it’s because Blizzard has some other issues in regards to the Chinese Government and their players who support the protests. Not sure what we are talking about? Listen in as we touch lightly on the subject. Once all the Blizzard and Overwatch news is out of the way we talk some tech. Google had its annual conference and Justin has some things to say about their announcement of a new phone and other devices. After that, it’s all about the Joker movie featuring Joaquin Phoenix. We talk about what we did like about the movie and what we didn’t. Some key points of focus are:

It’s been 2 weeks since we were in the studio but we are back. In our first episode since our 100th, we will be doing a TITANS Season 2 review of the first two episodes of DC Universe show. The second season picks up right where season 1 left off and we discuss the Trigon showdown. After that, we converse about the second episode and the introduction of what appears to be this season’s new baddies. Since this episode lays the groundwork for Season 2 we discuss what we think is coming up. Not only does the team discuss TITANS but since it’s been a while we talk some video games too. Joe is eager to talk about the Role Queue system Blizzard rolled out for Overwatch, but that leads into more of a discussion about Borderlands 3. The two both have the game and about 10 or so hours into. With only that much time put in, they give their first impressions of the game and address the hatred some fans have of it. Justin purchased the Sega Genesis mini but hasn’t opened it yet so we talk quickly about what’s in the box. All that and more on this episode of Nerd Caster.
