Go back in time with carter's lad Allen Chalk. When horses were used for ploughing and carting produce to market and other farms, the person in charge of a farm's horses was called a carter. As a carter's lad, it was Allen's job to look after the horses. He attended to their grazing, feeding, stabling and shoeing. He helped the carter, too with whatever the carter was doing, loading, unloading and going to market. 

It is a huge privilege to bring you this podcast with Allen Chalk our esteemed and much loved village elder. I won't say how old he is for he tells us this in his podcast. This podcast contains another example of human and animal communication, an intuitive nature connection.

Angela Mcallister is an award winning author of books for children of all ages. Angela's artwork is wonderful, too - hop over to her Instagram account here to check it out. Angela has a fantastic collection of prehistoric artefacts especially knapped flint from many different ages including the Stone Age. She also has an extremely rare ceremonial axe in jadeite. Angela has found all these treasures herself. In this podcast Angela talks about her connection with land and the stones she finds. She and I share a love of flint and you'll hear us talk about this too!

Ron talks about pilgrimages and reveals his instinctive ability to find his way around the landscape. His observations of the sun in particular are extraordinary.
