Welcome to the fourth miniseries of The Cellar! This is the fifth of five planned episodes of this long-running series, and in this, our finale, we bring you the pièce de résistance. We hope you've enjoyed all of our entries for this miniseries, and will come back next year for another one.

Episode 5, Twin Peeks, is set in the present day. Twins Judy and Jeff come back from a near-death experience, and each has a vastly different account of what they saw on the other side. Written by father and daughter team Pete and R. C. Lutz, and directed/produced by Pete Lutz.

Here's a tribute to my late friend Viktor Aurelius, a fellow audio dramatist and friend, who collaborated with me on several projects, some being his, and some being mine. A number of health problems shortened his life, and the audio drama community has never really recovered from the loss.

One of the bits he provided voice talent for was this fake commercial for "Redneck Airlines", which can't be described without spoiling the whole effect, so just listen and enjoy. Viktor's playing the "Bubba" character, and he overshadows my character completely. 

Miss Daisy is played by Katie Loftin.

In this two-part adventure, the Tec is sent by a worried wife down to Tijuana, Mexico, to find her husband. Our hero has a swell time south of the border, but when he returns, he finds a house full of murder! Story by Dashiell Hammett, adapted and dramatized by Pete Lutz.

Join us for mystery and adventure as the Tec takes a case at a farm in the little town of Knownburg, where the invalid patriarch, recovering from pneumonia, was awakened by a shot fired through his window! The deputy sheriff is baffled, and the chief suspect seems to be the son-in-law...in fact, he dares the Tec to find evidence against him! It's non-stop action and intrigue as our hero does his best to get to the bottom of this whodunit -- before the elderly gent -- or anybody else -- gets killed.

Again from our archives, we present the 3rd episode of a discussion podcast that I had high hopes for, but which only went for 9 episodes or so. But the discussions are fun and if you're interested in voice actors' lives, we delve pretty deep in these interviews. 

Alex Moore is a terrifically talented voice actor from Texas, whom I first met when we acted together in a production of Love's Labour's Lost at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. Since then she has moved to the Dallas area, and has lent her voice to anime productions and commercials, and has appeared on the professional theatrical stage as well. I'm also proud to say that she's appeared in a handful of my audio dramas.

John is a man of many voices, and a fantastic sense of humor, and his own comedy series, "Bell's in the Batfry", has been going strong for more more than a dozen years. 

As a tribute to the man, I wrote and performed all of the characters in a spoof of his show, which I called "Crade's in the Cattle", much in the same way John voices 99.9% of the characters in his show (he does bring in occasional guest voices).

"Adventures of the Federated Tec"! A series of 8 initial episodes of 7 dramatized stories featuring Dashiell Hammett's nameless detective. We call him the Federated Tec ("Tec" being short for detective), but you probably know him as something else. We've chosen Hammett's first few stories that have moved into the public domain, and have done our best to stay true to the originals -- and why not? The originals are just fine, as far as we're concerned.

So here is episode three, "Slippery Fingers", adapted by Pete Lutz from Hammett's third published Op story, in 1923. We hope you enjoy it and will join us for future episodes.

It's the Narada Radio Company's 2nd of three very special holiday offerings for 2020, a loving remake of the classic radio drama, "Miracle for Christmas", from the Grand Central Station series, broadcast annually for several years. Our script is from the 12-24-1949 broadcast. In this heartwarming tale, a cynical ambulance driver resents having to work on Christmas Eve; but he soon realizes the importance of his job when the young doctor he is transporting from case to case appears to perform miracle after miracle. You will want to listen to this one again and again.

Lovingly remade by the Narada Radio Company, this is Radio City Playhouse's adaptation of Paul Gallico's short story, originally broadcast 12/25/49 on NBC Radio. A newspaperman and his photographer are shanghaied on Christmas Eve by the Editor's bossy wife to find and deliver two goats and a red wagon. Hijinks and hilarity ensue as they reluctantly take on this challenge.

Written, produced and directed by life-long Marx Brothers fan Pete Lutz, 63audio presents a scenario unlike anything seen in any Marx Bros. film: 

Mr. Woodrow Fillmore Protoplasm is a ghost-hunter, hired to rid Stately Manor on Long Island of the ghost of the widow's late husband, who refuses to cross over. A little later, he's also hired by an Italian piano player whose brother's ghost won't cross over, either. And then, Protoplasm's son meets up with yet another ghost, who's been hiding in Stately Manor for 30 years! It's spooks a-plenty for our heroes, and for you, our listeners!

Chock-full of Marx-style humor and hijinks, this new play also features two new songs, composed especially for this production by Pete Lutz, and orchestrated by Dr. Ross Bernhardt. Set your Ouija Boards for laughter!

Here's part 2 of our fourth and final Sonic Summerstock Playhouse offering for 2020, a beautiful Norwegian folk tale interpreted by Louis MacNiece for BBC Radio and originally broadcast in 1959. There was no recording available for us to take inspiration from, so we did everything based on the script's dialogue and sound/music cues. In my humble opinion, this is one of the most lovely audio dramas I've ever produced, and I hope you enjoy it.

Suspense is one of classic radio's most highly-regarded dramas -- with good reason. It sustained a remarkably high quality level of dramatic tension for 20 years, as the many surviving recordings attest. But a handful of episodes are lost - and Project Audion now recreates one of them. "The Life of Nellie James" was intended as Suspense's premiere, but circumstances pushed it back to the third episode. It was performed once, live, on July 1, 1942, but never heard again. Until now -- as Project Audion, kicking off its fifth season, brings together a transcontinental cast in a live transcription of "The Life of Nellie James" from the original 1942 script. A dreadful murder takes place in the Simon James home, and justice is done ...or is it? It's a tale well-calculated to keep you in ...Suspense!

DO I SPECTER? I'LL SAY I DO! was written by Pete Lutz and inspired by his life-long love of Los Hermanos Marx, and includes representations of all four brothers, plus other familiar character archetypes from their films -- except this time, they're placed in a situation unlike any seen in their 13 movies. 

This new feature is cast with wonderful voices (a mix of amateur and professional actors) and terrific gags, which Marxian experts have deemed worthy of the brothers themselves! It includes two brand-new songs, "I Never Met a Ghost That I Believed In", and "Phantom Love", composed and with lyrics by Pete Lutz, and orchestrated by Dr. Ross Bernhardt, who has himself composed many wonderful musical passages for the Narada Radio Company.

So here is the opening fanfare and the overture for DO I SPECTER? I'LL SAY I DO!, and we sincerely hope you like it and will come back at the end of October to hear the full program!
