REDNECK AIRLINES Commercial spoof (2016)

mercredi 23 octobre 2024Duration 02:34

Here's a tribute to my late friend Viktor Aurelius, a fellow audio dramatist and friend, who collaborated with me on several projects, some being his, and some being mine. A number of health problems shortened his life, and the audio drama community has never really recovered from the loss.

One of the bits he provided voice talent for was this fake commercial for "Redneck Airlines", which can't be described without spoiling the whole effect, so just listen and enjoy. Viktor's playing the "Bubba" character, and he overshadows my character completely.

Miss Daisy is played by Katie Loftin.

OLD-TIME RADIO ESSENTIALS Ep. 25 - Tales of the Texas Rangers

dimanche 27 juin 2021Duration 01:00:41

Season Two of Old-Time Radio Essentials concludes! It's our finale, and Pete's pick -- and he's bringing us an exciting episode of Tales of the Texas Rangers for us to enjoy and discuss.

And since we're on the subject of discussion, we hope to determine whether this entry meets the following criteria:

1. Is it truly representative of that series? (Can anyone point to it and say, "Yes, that is what [NAME OF SERIES] was all about.")

2. Is it an episode worthy of inclusion in any and every OTR aficionado's private collection?

So with this in mind, we three bring you, as our twenty-fifth number (but 12th official episode of S2), this episode of Tales of the Texas Rangers from 1950. We'll introduce the show, play it in its entirety, then discuss it at length. Thanks for joining us, and we hope you enjoy it! WARNING: This OTR episode contains derogatory comments about Latin-Americans. Listener discretion is advised.

Please show your support of the podcast by doing any of the following!

To comment on how we might improve OTR-E, or give suggestions for future discussions, please write to us at f6point3@gmail.com . Put the word "Essentials" in the subject line.

ADVENTURES OF THE FEDERATED TEC #7 - The Tenth Clew part 2

lundi 31 mai 2021Duration 28:42

"Adventures of the Federated Tec"! A series of 8 initial episodes of 7 dramatized stories featuring Dashiell Hammett's nameless detective. We call him the Federated Tec ("Tec" being short for detective), but you probably know him as something else. We've chosen Hammett's first few stories that have moved into the public domain, and have done our best to stay true to the originals -- and why not? The originals are just fine, as far as we're concerned.

So here is episode seven, part 2 of "The Tenth Clew", adapted by Pete Lutz from Hammett's sixth published Op story, in 1924. We hope you enjoy it and will join us for future episodes.

ADVENTURES OF THE FEDERATED TEC WAS CONCEIVED BY PETE LUTZ AND DEVELOPED BY PETE LUTZ AND MARK SLADE.
